Hi all,

DS is in the throes of (what I think is) teething, is miserable and barely slept a wink last night :( . As I decided to take him to bed with me at 4am this morning, I thought to myself "if only I could suffer his pain instead".

When I woke up a very sociable 3 hours later (bliss!) my gums were sore, as if my teeth had been moving around in my gums all night, like when I had braces ... yes ... definitely weird! :D DS was bright eyed and bushy tailed! It was like my wish had come true! :o

It got me thinking ... what do you recon - would you take on your kids pain to stop them suffering?

How strange!!
I think i would take on my dd's pain if I could. I hate to see her in pain!

I think in some instances. For example, something that if I had instead, I could medicate myself for more effectively than medicating him.

But I certainly wouldn't want to take on it all - he's a headbutter, and I get enough headaches as it is! :D

Haha! That's so true! Any self-inflicted suffering can stay with them! If DS is going to eat a handful of flies and get a bellyache - that's his to enjoy!! :D
