I have a sample pack of them and was wondering how you use them? With my washing machine, it is an old dial switch, do you just turn it to the rinse cycle (will that 'wash' long enough) or do you have a machine that is able to bypass the rinse cycle. Due to the soap nuts not needing a rinse cycle I feel like I am double washing my clothes, and using too much water, by effectively doing 2 wash cycles.
What are your thoughts ladies? TIA

I don't know, I just do a full wash and leave them in the whole time, I don't know if my rinse cycle can be cancelled out, will have to check!

Is a rinse cycle the same as a wash cycle, or less intensive? Because if the only difference was that there's soap in one, then I don't see why you couldn't just start the wash from a rinse cycle with the soapnuts...

Thanks Mamalicious, I did an experimental load with 6 night nappies (so very stinky) and filled the load off with underwear and socks. I put the load onto the end of the delicates wash cycle, which would have been less than a few minutes of 'washing' and then it went on to the rinse cycle. The load took half the time to wash and the nappies did not smell at all. Also most of the socks have come up cleaner than I thought they would have. So I am really impressed. My nappies normally smell until I put them out in the sun. i think I will definitely have to change over full time.

Google them. They are an alternative to using washing soaps/powders. They are an actual nut that has the main ingredient to soap in them. They are all natural so no nasty chemicals, perfumes or dyes and the don't need a rinse after washing. I have been really impressed by them and am hoping to place an order soon.
The reason why I have chosen to try them (you can get a sample pack for about $5) is they are great for MCN (no worry about using too much washing powder) and my kids have quite a few allergies so I wanted to try an alternative.

Yes things come out incredibly clean dont they !!!!

I have found my whites brighter than ever ! They obviously clear the gunk from the residue the regular washing stuff leave behind !

I havent been around sorry !

I just use a short cycle cause i can adjust everything on my machine iykwim.

So I do a short wash with a short rinse & lower the water level if need be ... Make sense :o

Soap nuts are awesome :yes::D

we were major soap nut converts here! Made our washing sooooo lovely! Had issues with the little nuts getting loose in the wash though so have switched to the soap nut powder and I am in love :laughing::o
