Has anyone had this happen before? What was your outcome? (don't hold back from telling me negative stories, it helps me to prepare for the worst I think).
Thanks

Its perfectly normal for this to happen. It all depends on the concentration of the urine, how much water you've had, what brand of test you use etc etc. If you were testing a week apart and then it was fainter, then I'd be a little concerned, but a day apart is really nothing to worry about.
Congrats on your bfp!!!

The only way of getting an accurate indication of what your hcg is doing is via blood. There are too many variables with hpts...like the pp said, uring concentration, different brands, even tests in the same batch have different results. I had a few hpts which were significantly lighter and it freaked me out. All was fine. I suggest you get a bt and then a follow-up bt a couple of days later. Good luck! :)

Its very normal! Dont stress. :)
If you test again tomorrow the line could be so dark, yet test the next day and it will be soooo light. :) As long as there is a line! :D

thanks for the replies guys. I've used 2 different tests each day, a crystal clear and a lullaby conceptions HPT and used first morning pee. I'm booked in to see the Dr on Monday (which seems like forever right now!) I wrapped the positive tests up and gave them to hubby as an early chrissy present yesterday, he was completely stoked. Broke my heart to show him the other tests this morning.

I've just spent ages googling this and was quite shocked by what I found. I'm still breastfeeding my 18mth old (only about 1/3 of a nightime feed as he and I still really enjoy it) and I've just found information that claims breastfeeding can cause low estrogen and progesterone levels, affecting the body's ability to achieve adequate hormone levels to sustain a new pregnancy at the same time. My doctor was encouraging me to continue breastfeeding! Argh! :hair:
that is very much not true.
People get pregnant all the time and even breastfeed all the way through and end up tandem feeding.
I wouldn't stress.

Gee I hope your right jello. I have to stop googling, its really doing my head in. Need to find a chill pill...
I got a darker test line this morning, but it took a few minutes to come up. Just got to ride out the waiting game now. :fingerscrossed:

I've had variances in tests too, I think it is normal.
On the bf topic though, I agree with your dr, keep it up if you feel comfortable doing so :)
Good luck xx

thanks guys,
I'll post the results of the bt when I get it. :fingerscrossed:
Best of luck. My experience with LC HPTs is that feint ones mean early loss, nice dark ones mean baby. Everyone's experience is different though.

I didn't test yesterday, but this morning the test is heaps darker. The line isn't as dark as the control line, not too much lighter though. My temps are still high, so hopefully everything will be ok.
My beloved old horse I got as a foal when I was nine, died of pnemonia last night and I'm trying sooo (unsucessfully) hard to keep calm.

I had my blood test yesterday (at 16DPO) and just got the results - my HCG level was 424 and progesterone was 54.9. From what I've read, the HCG levels at 16 DPO should be about 40 - 200, another website indicated 426 would be the upper level for a 4 week pregnancy. I know high hcg levels could mean a multiple pregnancy, but perhaps also an abnormal pregnancy (such as a molar pregnancy), of course I'm hoping its just a strong pregnancy! The Dr seemed satisfied with both progesterone and HCG levels and said no further action required at this stage.
I was charting temps and used OPKs and know for sure when I ovulated. The nurse at the clinic says the level indicates I'm 6 weeks pregnant.
The Dr (not my usual GP) laughed at me when I asked for a second bt to check if HCG was ok/rising. He said thats only done if a problem is suspected and faint HPTs are not a problem.
I'm still not *feeling* preggers yet, maybe just cause I'm so paranoid about mc. I had heaps of sickness, sore boobs etc with my first pregnancy, really early on. Anyways, the hcg was a better level that I was expecting, so hopefully all is good. :)

Firstly - dont stress.
No symtoms doesnt mean anything. Remember that you are only JUST pregnant ... often the symptoms dont start for another few weeks. Also remember that each pregnancy is different, so just because you were sick early last time doesnt mean that you will be again .. or that because your feeling fine that something is wrong.
As for the levels - remember that the levels are a very loose guide, and that early on is really really hard to judge anything. I have known LOTS of women to have super high levels and only having 1 baby. As for a molar preg - it is very rare, so I wouldnt stress about that. For a molar preg the levels are significantly higher again ....
Congratulations :hugs: - and stop stressing :)

Just to finish this story ....I had a little bit of brown spotting and some pain, maybe very mild period type pain, enough for me to see the Dr, have a scan and learn I don't have a viable pregnancy. The sonographer said the gestational sac appeared to be 5w 4days (my calculations were 6w4d) and she couldn't see a yolk or fetal pole within. She also said I have a lot of pelvic bleeding and should expect this to expel within 2 weeks. I've had that feeling all the way along that something wasn't right. No nausea or food aversions, just continuous headaches. My belly seemed to be expanding though. She suggested my uterus lining was not thick enough to sustain the embryo.
