up until now we have put cj into the porta cot when we are over someones place. but now i feel mean sticking him in there since he has a big bed at home. plus ella is getting roley & is needing the cot now.
what do others do with thier toddlers when its bedtime at someone else's place?
i am wanting sopme sort of roll up bed or something that is "his" & he can associate with sleeping iykwim....
what's the done thing?
p.s sorry, feeding ella... cant do capitals! :o
Hmmm that's a toughie!
Will has a rocker but unfortunately he is just too big for it now :( So I'm thinking about a port-a-cot myself.
I have heard about these 'snuggle beds' and they seem great and you can just pop them on a bed or on the floor and they can have a nap.
And then there are the times where we just hold him until he is asleep, usually by accident because we are so busy chatting and then we realise, whoops!

Porta cots are  cj is just too big now :( Growing up too fast!!
What about a sleeping bag? Then it could be a little 'fun' like a campout or something? And you could get a rubber mat to put under it maybe?

I was thinking something like that, but something that was all in one. Like a thin covered mattress with a blanket attached...
maybe I should start a business...?
a friend of mine went to BigW (either Big W or target...) and she bought a blow up bed :) - it was winnie the pooh (I'm not a fan... but that is not the focus of this thread :D ) - and her little girl LOVED it ... she uses it when ever she goes somewhere... sooo cute :) - it even has a air inflated bed head... with pooh bear on it!
I dont know how long it takes to set up - but if you are going somewhere and sleeping over it might be worth it...
it definately cost less than $50 - if you are interested.. I can ring my friend and get more details..

Thanks Jen, though I suspect it takes longer than 2 mins to blow up
We go over to friends places a lot for dinner, so its just for somewhere he can go to sleep you know?
I dont want my friends to feel they have to make a bed up for him for a few hours iykwim...

If you have one of those little kids fold out foam lounges they are good. A few years ago I got a Thomas the Tank little thin mattress that sort of folds up and has valcro that joins together to form a handle.I grabbed it while I could and have never seen one ever again. The only other thing i can suggest ids there is a company called identity direct that sell a personalised nap mat with a pillow, they are quite cute cos they have the childs name embroidered on them and they cost $29.95. If you would like anymore info on them about the measurements or size or anything just pm me or email me.
Sorry to ramble:ecomcity:

Hey Becky,
Ry is still in a portacot at people's places. When I don't know how well baby-proofed their home is and I'm putting him in a darkened room, I'd rather he stayed 'contained' IYKWIM. I'd hate for him to be on a mattress and get up and get into something he shouldn't (medicine cabinet etc)
He's pretty tall but still fits in the portacot. We have recently bought an extra mattress for it though so it's more comfy for him.:D
