baby oil is also good
Yes! Thank you olive oil does work :yelclap:
Goose I probably wouldn't use eucalyptus oil on H's skin - it was my first thought too but isn't it toxic?

Well I like Almond Oil. :p
But yeah, any kind of oil that you like would work well.
I wouldn't put Eucalyptus oil on skin, but it is particularly good for fabrics.
Almond oil - that's a good suggestion too. I use eucalyptus oil on clothes and hard surfaces - it works the best I think, just not too sure about on skin?

Could you combine a bit of eucalyptus in some carrier oil?
And when I was in hospital the nurse used an alcohol swab to remove the tape from my canula, maybe another option. No sticky residue was left.

Its fine as long as there are no cuts, sores, or open wounds. Used on unbroken skin then washed is ok. (according to the doctor)
But good to know olive oil works.. Sometimes you dont want the residual smell of the eucalyptus.

Honestly it depends..
Using essential oils on bare skin is a really bad idea because they can be really harsh and burn skin, but some oils come ready mixed in a carrier oil (which is basically any kind of plain oil like grapeseed, olive, almond or whatever) so is fine to use directly from the bottle.
It would just depend on what you got I suppose.

Ahhhh thanks Goosie. I think Eucalyptus is the best for getting sticky residue off - the olive oil worked very well but took a lot of work. There is still some residue that I'll work on again tonight.
Given DH is allergic to Euc oil I think we'll have to stick to the olive oil here.

Eucalyptus Oil is great but you need the one for 'skin' iykwim ... Great for bites, sores etc ... Same with Lavender Oil but again gotta be the 'right' one !
I wouldnt go with it if there are family issues but also be wary of sensitive areas !
I just had to ride it out with G sadly because he had reactions to a few of the tapes that were used in hospital & if we tried to 'clean' them they became worse.
So meh feral boy :p
Zoft is really good as it wil work instantly nut hard to get hold of ( we have some here so i use it )
But failing that baby oil or olive oil soak it in some gauz oe a flannel and hold it on the area for as bit then wipe it off, then just rinse the oil off
