Just a little about us we have been together for 23 years and have been married for 7 years we have been trying to have a baby now for 15 years 10 years of it. with icsi with my own eggs 16 cycles,2 BIOPG all resulting:bfn:and the help of 2 diffrent egg Donors back in 06 first Donor:bfn:
2nd Donor the first transfer was BIOPG,FET tranfser was:bfn:

last night we spoke on facebook for 7 hrs and on thur night we spoke for 3 hrs
i think iam more happy then when we found an egg donor
now all we need is our :angel: couple to come a long with donor embryos our we all will be set hey hon our beauitful friend told us she going to wait until we get the snow bubs. we still have 2 embryos of our own we are going to use them first :fingerscrossed: we may not need angel embryos hey beauitful friend may be luck the first transfer and get BFP
in 2ww we are going up to QLD to meet beauitful friend ,hubby, children we will get up there in the morning and come home in the afternoon if we stay up there over i will worry about our 2 fur kids i can'nt take them to mums place because they have 3 dogs
.well now its up to uor DR and the counseller i will be looking forward to monday when i went to the clinic yesterday to talk to our nurse she is so excited for us i have know her every since we have started at this clinic it been nearly 5 years gee where dose the time go i think that when you are doing ivf you lose time because you put all you energy in to it

oh, i cant stop coming back in here and your other thread and rereading everything - i am just so so happy you finally got some good news to keep you going! I hope you know how many of us really do care and think of you often jojo.

Now i know this is a very hippy idea, lol, feel free to laugh at me but would you like some crystals, crystal jewellery, and oils sent for you and your surrogate? some moonstone, rose quartz or pearl could help, and are great to have around anyway. Or some charms with turtles or anchs (sp?)

elephant statues are also meant to be good.

I was touched by what jojo and her DH have been through over more than a decade. Jo is an amazing women and has taught me the power of never giving up hope, if you ask me she is herself the :angel: She is always there to welcome new people and offer her support, and is always there to congratulate others on there success.

Me and my DP had been following jo's story throughout the months. We ourselves have 2 beautiful children and couldnt imagine what it would be like to not have the laughter that now fills our house. So after speaking to each other we decided to contact jo and offer her the chance of becoming a mum.

Thank you all for your kind words, but as i have said to JoJo I know im the lucky one who has been given the opportunity to help out such a wonderful couple:hugs:

Jo and myself both come from big families and have both been surrounded by kids all our lives, I couldn't just walk away after everything i had read that they had been through and not help out. I believe every women should have the opportunity to be a mother.

I look at my children and think what would life be like without them and it makes me sad because life without them would not be filled with the joy and laughter that we have.

The way i see things ..... life is only a moment in time, if we put half as much effort into helping people other than ourselves, than we do with our careers, looking for that perfect car, buying that perfect gift then maybe the world wouldnt be such a sad place. Never look back and think what if, always look forward and think what can i do. I realise it would be hard for some people to do but always know your support is also a wonderful thing, the words of encouragement and all of the positive attitudes are what keeps everyones spirits up.

JoJo and stephen are coming up to QLD to meet me and my family, Yay i am looking so forward to meeting this wonderful women and her equalliy wonderful husband. Now i guess a few of you may be thinking we live in QLD and as far as i know surrogacy is still illegal here, well my family and i are actually moving in april to NSW to be closer to my family, so legally we wont have a problem and i get to see my mum everyday, I miss that most of all.

Hey everyone just thought i would say that Jo and stev are such awesome people it is like we have known them a lifetime. We had such a great time with them here in QLD. We cant wait till we start this amazing journey with these 2 amazing people.

They have shown me they would both make fantastic parents (not that it was ever in question) they are both like part of our family. Jo would make a fantastic mum and also stev would make a fantastic dad.

I just hope once our councilling is over we wont have the 3 month cooling off period as i am willing to give them the chance that i have been blessed with in becoming a parent.

JoJo and stev I cant wait for the day that this all gets the go ahead as i would love to see your faces the day you child is bought into this world, I can say there wont be a dry eye in the house.

I have been off air for so long I was totally unware of your fantastic new years gift. I wish you and starfantasia a wonderful and hopefully redtape free 2009, what a wonderful start to the year and what a lovely news to fid when i just popped in to have a quick catch up on news as I couldn't sleep - I'm presently exhausted the adelaide heatwave and two active 18mth olds with one not sleeping at night finally took it'ds toll today so rather than spent the hours while they slept doing chores I tried to go to sleep - failed so thought I'd see how life in bubhub was going and was so excited about your news there is no way I'll sleep now and also to hear Helenmac is also pregnant - with a baby due around the boys 2nd birthday - wow how the time flies and it makes me realise how long you have been waiting.

Though as you say this time it feels so right, like Diane's first cycle with sarah just seemed that it wasn't meant to be, but now she is soon to be a mum. When I had the embryo transfer and now the boys it feels as if they were always our destiny, they are our children and our journey was always going to lead us to them.

oh hello my friend gee iam sorry about the heat and yes here in sdney the heat is shocking to and youri bet your 2 little darlings are realy big now its the way 1 bubs sleeps while the other dose'nt sleep hey.

:yes: what a great new years present all i could do is :crying: very time i read the email from starfantasia. me and stephen got this year on the long weekend we went to meet starfantasia and hubby and their 2 kids we stayed the night and come home the long and heat tieding drove home but it was worth it and now we could'nt wait to start. we hve to pay a bill to the our side counseller beore we can make the app with her for the star couple.

Hi everyone im so sorry that it has been a while since my last post. I have been kept busy with trying to contact family who have been caught up in the VIC bushfires. My brother his wife and there 2 young kids DS 4 and DD 2months Live in Yea and were without internet or phone coverage for about 3 days so i was really worried. The fires came within 2 kms of there property. So it has been a really scarey time.

But on a lighter note my computer is FINALLY fixed :smiliedance: so i will be able to keep in more contact with jo. I hated not being able to just jump online and chat.

So I should say that our next step is, my family and i are moving to country NSW in april and then Jo will make us an appointment for us to speak with their councilors. I know that everything will be fine and we will get the go ahead. So then i guess after that will be the waiting game as to when we can start everything.

well i better get going i have a really bad headache that wont go away. I will try and be online more to keep everyone up to date with everything.

For those who may not have luck finding a surrogate in Australia, like in our case, we made the journey to India, Mumbai, where we researched the surrogacy programs at the leading IVF clinics there. After our initial research and due diligence, we realised in Mumbai, IVF clinics are very well run and have a flourishing surrogacy program (gestational). In March 2008, we attended the clinic, with our frozen embryos on hand (transported from Aust via a medical transport co.). In Dec 2008, our baby boy was born....after 8 yrs failed IVF, and then deciding to go down the adoption path, being accredited after 2 years, to then find out the wait would be another 3 years wait, this was the most amazing result. Forget some negative stories that are old hat re exploitation, it is a myth, as we pay $40k for the program (if successful), with the surrogates earning 300,000 rupees (nearly 10 yrs family income).

It is a win win. As the first Australians to successfully have a baby in India (our genetics) via a surrogate, it is a joyous occasion for the family and friends.

Yes...this really can work. 45 couples from Australia are currently going through surrogacy programs at the 2 main IVF clinics in Mumbai. The doctors there are excellent. (US trained).

Not sure what point you are trying to make, but, I assume you are questioning the disproportionate return to the surrogate. Yes, it seems that the Hospitals, gynaecologists, doctors and the IVF clinic itself would splitthe remaining monies, which is of no surprise; afterall, like most IVF clinics worldwide, they are private enterprise and operate to make a profit. The surrogates are rewarded far in excess of their US counterparts, who receive up to 1/3rd of their annual salary. The Federal Govt are proposing draft regulations on allowing up to $10,000 AUD for Australian gestational surrogacy in the future. (which is potentially, delineating commercial surrogacy from altruistic surrogacy, despite the government continuing to outlaw commercial surrogacy in this country, As a leading IVF doctor quoted, what is commercial surrogacy, if providing $10,000 to a surrogate or 3 months salary does not come within this defintion.

There are a lot of contradictions re government policy at a state level, and the proposed federal government initiatives to legislate in the future at a federal level, should at least introduce a consistent approach to surrogacy for all Australians.

I wanted to see both amounts in the same currency and figured others may like to as well, but may be too busy or not know where to look it up.

:wave: I thought i would put in my 2 cents here. This is my personal opinion. There are alot of us who are embarking on the surrogate journey not for monetary gain. Im doing it for specific reasons: 1: Every women deserves to be a mother 2: with the high costs of TTC i DONT think that future surrogates should even consider wanting to get paid for it, we dont get paid to have our own kids!!! (sorry just how i feel) 3: Australia is called the lucky country for a reason " WE ARE LUCKY THAT WE ARE NOT FUELLED BY GREED AND ALTERIA MOTIVES"

My reasons for helping our JoJo and her DH are I have read their story and it was heart breaking we met them and they are now part of our family. I have the ability to help them and its in my nature to help out a friend. I want them to feel the joy i feel everyday.

What i get out of all this! I get the greatest gift a lifelong friendship of a wonderful couple.

I also thought I would put in my 2 cents if I may. Firstly I must say what a gem of a person you are for assisting Jo and her family. I wish all of you a very quick :bfp:. I agree with you StarFantasia and also believe that there is a very fine line between a surro wanting to assist a couple out of the goodness of their heart and a surro wanting to assist for total financial gain. As someone who themselfs requres a surro to fullfill our baby dreams I know exactly how tough it can be for couple attempting to have their own family. I actually gave up myself as I refuse to go overseas and pay someone hundreds of thousands of dollars , I just don't think it is right sorry. That said my own situation changed recently and I am in discussions with a potential surro from Australia. I couldn't believe my luck but people are available in Australia to assit and there are people who just like yourself want to help for no other reason then the joy of assisting another couple. I thank my lucky stars that we have found tbis couple, I can never thank them enough. To anyone still looking for their miracle couple I say hang in there and just put the word out on here that you need help and are looking, you may just get lucky.

I say you are an exceptional lady for embarking on this saintly role. I don't believe there is any greater gift to offer, apart from organ donors etc. Congratulations for making Jo's (and family) life a joy.

We put certain calls out and made a number of inquiries re Aust surrogates, but, like most people, nothing came to fruition. On the advice of some family members, the suggestion of surrogacy in the US became a focus, until we realised the cost was exhorbitant. Further research then revelaed Indian and Georgia also have surrogacy programs, hence, the rest is history. I can see that on forums like this, there are a number of people who are highly critical of these types of programs. It is easy to be critical of others, it is a typical western mindset; the question is that if you were faced with these circumstances, where as one family recently described, as going to hell and back to have a family, and without the opportunity to partake in a surrogacy program, it meant you would not have a family, I would think 9 out of 10 of you, would reconsider your judgement. Heh, I would have been one of those critics too, as it is easy to cast a negative judgement on another country from here, where all we read about this subject, is sensationalist cods wallup.

For those who are interested, Channel 7 will be showing a story (we are not in the story) on Indian surrogacy I believe by late March/early April on their Sunday Night program.

To avoid us ever having to go to India to have a 2nd child, and costing a small fortune, it would be great if anyone knows someone who may be a surrogate for us. We were probably not aware of the right channels to go through in the past. I know you need to be based in NSW to ensure it is legal.

Sorry to hear that there has been a set back, hopefully it is a very short set back.

We should ourselves be starting the process Jan 2010 providing everything goes well. We hopefully will meet our surro angels later this year in person and then set things in motion for next year. My surro has plans for this year that beig preg would interfear with. I am overjoyed with finding them and am more than happy to wait till next year to start, it actually gives me time to let finding them and the fact that we may be parents sink in hehehe. I am sure you get what I mean.

We both are very lucky that we have been able to find our surro angels, and for thoes who have not been so lucky just keep hoping and putting the word out there you never know.

just thought after months of watching this I would use some courage and post as well. I too am in the position of needing a surrogate (after a radical hysterectomy to treat cervical cancer 2.5 years ago), but am starting to lose hope as I have had no luck so far.

:wave: wow its been ages since i have been online, we are in the process of moving down to country NSW so that i can start the journey with jo and stev, i cant wait its getting very exciting now since we only have just over a week till we move. lol I have hardly done anything around the house it will get done....soon.

We wont have the internet when we move but i will try and convince my mum to let me set up the internet there till we move to our own place.

Hey everyone sorry i have been MIA have been really busy. As you may know we moved to a small country town so i could be closer to my parents and family. I love it the fresh air and all my friends are here. I have told my mum and a few of my friends what me and my DP are doing to help out my wonderful friend jojo and her lovely DH. A few of my friends couldnt understand why i was doing it but after explaining my reasons i think 4/5 of them cried.

I have spoken to jojo but not as often as i would like because having a lively 3 year old and an even livelier 1 year old i dont find much time to jump online.

I did treat myself to a new laptop and my DP spilt jim beam all over it :hissy: so now i have an extremely expensive paper weight :laughing:

As jojo said she is waiting for her DH to have his operation and a few more things and then we should be set to go!

I told jojo she has me waiting for her as long as she needs me im not going anywhere.

I have also started up my own home business so i can spend all my days playing with the kids (or acting like one) and doing my work at night.

I will be on in a few days I hope everyone is doing good

I read your first post about five minutes ago and got sad cause i saw it was from 21-12-2008, 12:47 PM. but then realized that is was still active and was super happy to quickly slip to the last page and have a smile for you both. and the your not long to start trying with your wonderful surrogate mummy in January. i know that it was quick and easy for me to jump to the end. but you did it the long and hard and emotional way.
