Ok so the question is ..

Do you like stuff like Fruit mince pies, fruit cake etc...
or not...?

is it something for older people?
Is it an item from the past??

Someone must like it because the shops are full of the stuff but is the younger generation saying "no thanks" and will they eventually fade into nothingness....?

Personally I LOVE the stuff and cant get enough at Chrissy time...
so do you ???

YUMMOOOOOOO !

If I were to let him I think Boof would live on mince pies

Poor G wont know the fuss for awhile yet !

I have to say I am a Christma pudding freak & tend to have craving throughout the year & have been so desperate at times when I cant get one that I use a fruit cake covered in custard to appease the need :o

Actually, when I was in England we had a chocolate Christmas pudding- it had a few suktanas in it, but had mostly chunks of chocolate that melted thru it and we ate it with custard, it was DELISH!

I HATED them when younger...but my tastebuds have matured and I love, love, love my FMP's now (esp ones from Bakers Delight!) Liam loves his pies too - we always share one when out shopping. Can it be December forever please?

Oh and for Christmas cake - I like it in moderate amounts. I make a weight watchers fruit cake with fruit and nut chocolate in it and its really good.

I don't mind a bit of fruit cake on christmas but never enough to buy a cake. However the top tire of my wedding cake is fruit cake and we have it stored. Not really my kind of food all the dried fruits and tartness I am more a creamy or salty type of person... Dont really remember fruit mince pies as a kid but we had an awful lot fruit cake. Always been a running joke about getting a new doorstop for christmas  We dont really eat anything like that now or keep it in the house due to DS' allergies... however we still go mad over sago plum pudding (which is my families traditional christmas food)

DH's family who are english never ate fruit anything at christmas (think it was beyond their budget TBH) They always had/have trifle

love them - with the exception of ones with a lot of fruit peel in it. I hate the peel it ruins it

Me too!! Fruit cake, not so much... plum pudding, YUMMM!!

Never been a fan of mince pies tho... don't like crunchie bits (ie dried seeds) in my cakes.

Another fan of the plum pud here! Fruit cake is OK, can't stand mince pies.

DH loves his fruit cake and will buy them all year round. He makes a pretty good one too. He's not so fussed on the mince pies.

*we're much closer to old than to young... ;)

 No, not for me I'm afraid, I don't like fruit cake, plum pudding, fruit mince pies, sultanas, raisins.
Our wedding cake was white and dark chocolate mudcake because I wanted a non-fruit cake variety and one that I would actually enjoy eating, as opposed to being traditional :D
