Hi Everyone,

I am in desperate need of some help and advice...my DS is 17 weeks old and I am struggling to feed him, he is a real challenge.

He is in no routine at the moment (which I would love to work on, but not sure how to start), during the day he can feed anywhere between 3 - 4.5 hourly, nothing regular, but fusses over the bottle and screams, takes a few gulps and screams again, I basically have to trick him with the dummy and then quickly put the bottle in........ he is currently on S26 lactose free formula and takes no where near the recommended amount which is another thing that I am worried about, he only takes about 750mls in a 24 hour period but according to his weight should be having 1050mls +

Do you think the problems are stemming from the fact that he doesn't have a routine, how would I start one? Does the lactose free formula fill them up more?

Help please......

Hi Mum2be. I can really recommend the book Save our Sleep by Tizzie Hall. It has all about how to get baby into a routine, sleep and settling problems, going onto solids, etc. Costs about $30 to buy but she also has a website if you google her. Have you spoken to the health care nurses about the feeding problems? Might be an idea to have a quick visit to them. Have you tried changing brand of bottles, perhaps it's the shape of the teat that he doesn't like? It is so hard at times to know what to do. Hope everything turns out ok xxx
