Hi

My dd is nine and a half months. Since we have got back from an overseas trip she has reverted to waking at 3am for a feed and I am wondering if and how I can get rid of this feed:fingerscrossed:

Currently she has three b/feeds during the day and I have just reintroduced the "rollover feed" . She feeds 5.30 to 7am (, 3pm, 7pm and 10pm and the dreaded 3am feed!) She is not a big baby probably just under the 8kg mark, I'm scared to weigh her!! She is very active and dosent eat a great deal of solids a bit of a grazer really.

Question-Is it realistic to expect her to last longer from the 10pm feed?

Should I give her another b/feed during the day? I dropped the 11am feed as she wasnt really interested.

I would like to wean by around the 1yr mark (hoping she will self wean) - and go straight to cows milk, what are my chances!

HELP PLEASE

I think if you are concerned about her weight then the extra feed isnt going to do her any harm.

With the self weaning most babies will continue to feed well into their second year unless activley encouraged to wean, The only advice I can give is not to get to hung up on it as the forbiden fruit is often the one we seek the most;) .

Thanks Goosie think I am going to have to do some research about actively encouraging her;) She would happily cut out the 3pm feed already but then i guess she will want even more overnight.

I suppose I wonder how on earth you wean them if they are not getting enough from their solids to keep them satisfied? Formula  ?
