I dont know what EBF is, sorry.
But what I do know is you can ovulate with out the return of your actual period when your breastfeeding. You may notice your vaginal mucous is thicker at or around the time of this ovulation pain also.
exclusively breastfeeding = EBF sorry lol
ohhh thanks for that :)

WOW, I was always under the impression that wasn't possible. ie, no period=no ovulation. Since I am still BF and AF hasn't returned yet, DF and I haven't been using any other protection.
Yikes! Better refrain till I can get to the chemist!

You would be pretty safe up to 6 months postnatally if you were giving around 8 feeds a day including at least one overnight one.
But even if using LAM (Lactation Amenorea Method) for contraception you should try to notice any other signs of returning fertility.
ovulation pain
vaginal mucous
sore boobs
PMS
bloating
others I cant remember.

Hi there
The idea that your body is going through the motions of having a phantom period is scarey. I concieved while exclusively breast feeding, having got my periods back two months after the birth of my son and now expecting number two. Lesson learnt is cover-up, cover-up, cover-up and don't believe any male even your husband when he says he'll stop before it starts -- so to speak.....was that too graphical???? ;)

I was EBF DD and concieved before my AF ever returned. Big suprise as dd was 12 weeks old when i concieved and though we wanted a 4th we certainly weren't planning on it happening that quickly.. we were thinking another 2-3 years perhaps! This time I'm getting an IUD put in at my 6 week check and don't think I'll be going near him before then :P lol
