hi all i really need your help,

my dd is formula feed she is now 6 months old,
she started out on karicare gold and was constantly sick on it. i then was told to give her karicare ar which for a few weeks worked then she started to be sick on it again, then karicare ahar sick again then went to the docs and they suggested try giving her gaviscon in formular but she is still sick on its not like she has reflux though as when she is sick shes not in pain and it doesnt upset her but after every feed she is sick at least 6 or 7 times, i have lastly tried heinze formula and still no go.

i really dont no what to try next the child health nurse and doctors advice hasnt worked

she is still a happy baby nothing has changed in her moods except shes sick 24/7

please please help im at my wits end and dont no what to try next

All I can suggest really is trying another formula, maybe they just don't agree with her stomach.
Is she sick alot or is it just little bits? because they are supposed to bring up a little after a feed.
Here in Vic we have a maternal child health line, do they have one up there? (132229) Maybe try even if it's a long distance call, don't know what else to say sorry.

yeah its a lot after each feed id understand if its just a little sick but its at least 6 to 7 times with a lot of sick not good

try another and see what happens

have you tried a soy based formula or one that is specially designed for lactose intollerant babies?

i tried number but couldnt get through although found we have a number to ring up here 13HEALTH (12432584) and talked to a nurse there, they suggested its not reflux or anything but body just cant handle the amount being given the way she said it is that babies dont realise they are full till 15 mins later so if you let them they would keep drinking till you stoped so being sick is just that 2 much is being fed( like she said if your putting petrol in a car and it can fit anymore in it just overflows) so i just have to cut down feed hope that works

I have a friend whose bub was like that and it turned out she was lactose intolerant. They tried her on a goat formula (think it was the Karicare one) and voila, no more :barf:

Might be worth a shot if nothing else works?

oh yes i have now managed to sort it out.

For the last 3 day she has been having a 100 ml bottle more often in the day instead of 4 full 200 feeds as her belly just cant handle that much:no: and she is now prob only having 600 ml a day plus breaky, lunch and dinner.

I cant believe the difference in her she is not sick any more she has a little :barf: every now and again but nothing like what she was having.

Its such a relief now though. Finally after so long:thumbsup:
