Hi ladies
well DS is 7 months old and I am so exhausted he is still waking for 2 feeds a night any advice how to cut this down to 1? i have tried offering water, he seems wide awake at this time and i cant let him cry it out as he will wake up DD (23months).
We dont have much of a routine happening he seems to fight day sleeps as well.
Eating 2-3 solid meals a day but not big meals. He is breast fed, I have tried offering formula top up for bed but no difference.

During the day things seem to be a little harder, he is not sitting unsuported for very long and he is so resltess on his back or tummy cos he wants to get moving... he is getting very frustrated. He generally is a happy baby never really cries just whinging.

Does anyone still wrap at 7 months? I put DS in a sleeping back but its been a couple of weeks now and he is still sleeping worse than he was when wrapped I thought it would just take a week or so but I think I am going to wrap tonight and see if that makes a difference. He is just so hard to wrap as he wiggles his way out before I have finished wrapping.

I have a column heater in his room with a vapouriser and the door slightly open. No nightlight.

I just cant think what else to try to help him setlle?

I have tried feeding to sleep during the day he wakes soon after and wont go back to sleep.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks
Lisa

Have you tried increasing his solids and cutting down on milk?Do you give him solids first then milk?I would still be wrapping as it sounds like he feels more secure like that i wrapped my dd up until about 9 months.
Hope this helps:fingerscrossed:

Hi there,
my son Patrick is almost 7 months and I had some success a few weeks ago with getting him to sleep through the night by increasing the size of his meals. He is now waking up again to be breastfed (once not twice though - you poor thing) and I am thinking about increasng his meal sizes even more (am currently waiting for a call from my MCHN to tell me how much he could technincally eat). How much does your son have for his solid meals? Patrick is happily eating 8 cubes (small icecube size) of fruit plus a baby yoghurt for lunch and 8 cubes of vegies plus a baby yoghurt for dinner and 2 tablespoons of rice cereal for breakfast. I really think this made him sleep better at night a few weeks ago but now he seems to be waking up hungry again between 1 and 3am. Maybe your son is waking and not settling well due to hunger - I think that might have been our problem (not that I'm 100% sure but that is my feeling). Good luck.

Cath

wow I probably should increase his foods although sometimes he does not seem bothered, probably overtired - one vigious circle....

Breaky - 1/2 weetbix with water or EBM and if still wants more a couple of cubes of puree apple. Or sometimes a small jar of apple oatmeal Heinz for a change, he doesnt like rice ceral anymore.

Lunch - 4 icecubes of puree veg (sweet potato, pumpkin, carrot and sweetcorn) and usually 3 of puree apple.

Dinner - same as lunch sometimes offer custard but not all the time.

I might try offer a larger dinner tonight what time do you feed? before or after BF? or as soon as waking? I think he is overtired when trying to feed him but he is overtired and wont sleep either... I feel I am just not winning what ever I try.

Chels21 Oh my you must be tired... 5 times a night I guess there is always someone who has it worse I really feel for you! hope you can get some rest during the day!

Well tuesday I gave DS a really good dinner and he slept better, only 1 feed.

Last night he wouldn't eat any dinner and was up twice.

Obviouly the food helped but now my problem is gettin him to eat
