Hello, I'm just after some advice about stopping breastfeeding, My son is 15 and a half months old, due to self image and the size of my breast's (24GG!!) I need to be me again!. My husband had to make my normal bra a feeding bra by adding chunky pieces of coat hangers to the sides, I've worn this bra every day since He was born. I also struggle with his teeth and my breast tissue is getting sore. I need some advice on how exactly to stop? so i suddenly say to him , you have water now, or do I gradually stop feeding? he has between 3 and 5 feeds a day. how does milk dry up? do I need to express milk?... I'm a bit confused about how to stop. But feel it's the right time for us.
Any help would be great!

I will let others advice you on the psychology of stopping..but I was given some hormonal tablets when I suddenly had to stop feeding my first, they were awful! The best way would be cut down the feeds gradually which helps get bubs used to it and if you get too full, just express a little bit to ease the pressure, not keep building the supply.
Your hubby sounds very inventive! All the best. And enjoy the new lingere!! Sounds like you deserve some;)

I got this from the ABA website (link to web page (http://www.breastfeeding.asn.au/bfinfo/weaning.html))
Hopefully it has some ideas for you to make it easier on both you and your LO
Gradual weaning is definitely preferable both for your breast health (less likelihood of mastitis and blocked ducts etc) and for bub, as it is going to be less of a shock for your child to be gradually weaned. Try to figure out which feed bub is least attached to, and work on that one, with distraction, offering food and drink instead etc, and just go from there...
If you really can't do a gradual weaning, then there are medications you can take.
Honey, just had to send you a hug...I'm a 16 HH, so I know some of your pain. I have never had a problem with them, and my baby loves them, but yeah, having big boosies is a bit ridiculous at times.
Your husband made you a bra! What a champion. There is a place in Brisbane that does mail order, and they are just amazing. I fly interstate just to get fitted, they're that good.
Good luck with the teeth thing, that sounds horrendous.
