View Full Version : Kitchen Tea ideas???
Hello
Firstly, what is the point to a kitchen tea, do they still have them? I'm the head bridesmaid or whatever it's called for my besties wedding next year and have the job of organising hens night and kitchen tea.
But what's a kitchen tea? Did you have one, what did you do? Im thinking along the same lines as a baby shower, but for a wedding and playing some sort of games, but anywho just thought i'd ask here. :)
Thanks all :D

Yep like a babyshower its to get things to help set up home. Not as many people have them as they use to because most have already set up home these days I suppose... a lot of people have them to invite mostly the old relo's and then use the hens day to invite their friends.
Quite a few I have been to have been varying party plan things from sex toys to tupperware.
A super dignified one could be cool like a champagne luncheon and if everyone bought a dish and left their serving plate or a couple of glasses behind...

Thats a cool idea Missiemack.
The ones I have been too were for ladies who had not lived with their future husbands before marriage, and were well attended by the older generations ;)
Another idea is that you make a recipe or homemaker book, each invitee is asked for a recipe or home making tip (how to fix a leaking tap, how to fold napkins shaped like penguins etc) and make these into a book for the bride. Get the person giving the tip to provide a picture and you can make the book at snapfish, or bigW, kmart photo section etc.
Thanks MissieMack and TinyStar :)
MissieMack - Ahh i see, so yeah that's what i was thinking it was more traditional when they never lived together before marriage. And the party plan was something i thought too but mentioning it to her don't really think it's her thing.
Tinystar - Great idea there too, i am definately wanting to do something sentimental for her so that she can keep it forever, so that does sound really lovely, like make her a 'wife survival kit' or something! lol
