Does anyone know of anything that can protect their poor little knees when they are learning to crawl. DD doesnt get up on her knees. She does an army style crawl with her elbows and forearms and pushes with her knees. Despite trousers and stockings she is giving herself carpet burn all the time. Any ideas would be great

Use a thick pair of socks that will fit over her leg and thigh, cut off the toe then slip them up her leg so that the heel part covers her knees.
There is a company that makes them but this is a cheap alternative.
You could also reinforce heel bit (that covers knee) if it wasn't enough but if you use woolen or thick cotton socks should be fine.

Yep as PD said you can make your own for bubs from knee high socks otherwise you can buy whats known as 'Baby Legs' & 'Hug-A-Lugs' which are around the net on various sites !
The great thing with them is you can also use them on their arms to stop any rubbing there too !

Snazzy Baby also makes knee pad things that velcro on.
They cost $25 though:eek:
The sock idea sounds great and the baby leg warmers that you can buy on loads of websites are very cute.
I also seen posted around about other mums using bottle coolers with no bottoms pulled over the legs. Have not tried this though to see if it works.

I agree with reAllytee - I bought BabyLegs for my little one and they're great! Super cute, cheap and good for when learning to crawl and really handy for nappy changes instead of having to wrestle off pants :) ! Plus, I think they're on sale for Christmas if you buy a pack of 3 or something... they have an Australian website (dot com dot au). Did I mention they are super cute?? :D oh and good for arms too (even I wear them on my arms sometimes lol!)

Nice4neez which are soft sock-like knee protectors when first learning to crawl inside and Snazzy Baby Knee Pads for indoor and outdoor.
