View Full Version : Baby Sleeping Bags
Just wanting some advice as to which type of sleeping bag I should get for my 10mth old for camping. We are going away in about 3 weeks and the temp is likely to get close to 0 degrees! I normally dress him in a wondersuit with sicks and singlet underneath and a polar fleece jumpsuit over the top. Also add beanie. My first born would keep the beanie on and could add a blanket but no2 takes his beanie off and tosses and turns all night so I need something to keep him in.
Don't want to spend too much. Thought about maybe getting a baby blanket and folding so sides met and adding zipper or similar to make sleeping bag type thing.
Any ideas/suggestions of brands and prices would be great.
Hi - have you tried Ebay?? They have some great stuff and I saw one today that was a baby sleeping bag/cocoon - looked really warm and snig... I searched :baby sleeping bags"
Also try Kathmandu or Paddy Palin stores - they have all that kind of gear - and I think it might be a little pricey - but you may be able to ebay it after you use it:idea:
Have fun

I saw some divine pure wool sleeping bags at the Sydney baby expo. they were at nurture nappies . i'm not sure who else sells them. they are the lanacare brand and were just exquisite. they might be just the thing for you...

I bought DS a fleece jumpsuit from Target for $20. You could do a singlet, wondersuit, socks, fleece jumpsuit (I got the Thomas the Tank Engine one and it has the mitten flaps for over the hands ) and then over that you could put a sleeping bag, which they also sell at Target for $20 - or as you suggested, you could just sew up a sleeping bag. As blankets I go to Spotlight and buy their fleece material (I got a really thick and fluffy one with dinosours on it the other day) and then sew it up to make a sleeping bag out of it. I find that when it's really cold I put DS in a sleeping bag and then put a blanket over it and because it's harder for him to kick the blanket off when he's in the sleeping bag he stays warmer. That fleece jumpsuit is awesome though - very warm. I would definitely get one of those and team it up with a wondersuit and a sleeping bag.
