I don't know the answer to your question but this used to happen to DD all the time. She'd have milk all over her. It just stopped one day.
Sorry that was no help at all

lol so far its got worse the older she is.. she just laughes.. i think she finds it funny

i spose those she may just be playing that feed as it doesnt always happen.. i know when she needs a feed she takes all the milk.. but when she gets upset she just confort sucks and comes off when letdown happens and ends up with milk on her face and finds it funny//

just wondering what to do about it.. or just wait till she outgrows it

I used to have really strong letdown.

I found it easier to lie on my back or side to reduce the pressure on my boob to let the milk flow a little slower.

Maybe that might help?

i get that.. thats probably why she doesnt pull off when i lie down... however i can only do that when dh is home..

what do i do when he goes back to tafe.. i mean i dont mind at home...

but what do i do out because it draws attention.

the older she gets the more i dont feed out anyway.. shes too distracted.. i have to go to a parents room for my benifit. she knows she wants a feed but wants to look else where all at the same time.:laughing:

I found that if i really slouched in the chair for the first little bit it helped ease the pressure too then once she had had the first few high pressure mouthfuls I could sit up normally - prob not great for the old back but it saved DD drowning in BM.

My DD spent the first 3 months of her life with a breastmilk face pack each feed! Kept her skin lovely soft too!

I had to put towels on the arms of my chair as she'd pull off mid feed and just let it squirt onto the upholstery!

I think it's pretty common, it's just something they do.
