View Full Version : Where oh where has my AF gone?
My DD is 7 months old and we're starting to think about TC#2. But AF has not returned...
Is there anything that you can do to kickstart your AF when BF'ing? :detective:
DD feeds about 4 times a day, about 4 hours between feeds, and no feeds for 12hrs overnight. I'm one of 6 kids and mum never got UTD while BF'ing. I'm wondering if it'll be the same for me?
I don't want to have to wait until she's weaned - I'm ready now!!!
Anything I can try?
Hi, I wish I could help but I don't really have an answer. My suggestion would be go to your local chemist and ask the pharmacist or maybe even a naturapath. For me, AF didn't return until I had completely weaned DS. I weaned him at 6 months and AF returned exactly 2 months later, but since then it's been very irregular and last month I started taking a vitamin called Vitex which helps with fertlity and regulating the menstrual cycle, it's been great and my cycle was much shorter. But I'm not sure you can take it if BF or not. So I'd check with your pharmacist or your doctor to see if there's something you can take to get your cycle happening again. All the best!
You can fall preggers again before AF, cause you should ovulate once bfore your body has lining to dispose.... perhaps throw caution to the wind?
In the mean time... naturopath (there are some AWESOME stones out there with fantastic properties), herbalist, homeopath. Perhaps even an accupuncturist.
Good Luck!
Thanks for your replies Izy and carla!
It just maybe a crazy coincidence, but I think I found AF just a couple of days after posting this! I had bleeding from Sun until yesterday, (warning TMI) - not as heavy as I was expecting for a first AF after giving birth, so I hope it wasn't anything else (it started just after DH and I DTD!)

Definitely been doing this!
Have to see if Af turns up again in any regular pattern and :fingerscrossed: we'll have a :bfp: early in the New Year! Hooray!
