first thing i'd recommend is forget about tomorrow. reschedule what you can to another time next week. because that is adding to your stress.
the baby is bound to be overtired and they can't settle when they're like that. Plus, because you're stressed, babies somehow pick up on all that tension in the air, and they reflect it.
why don't you take the baby into bed with you. stick her in between you and hubby, or just next to one of you. i did this with my DD ...she slept between DH and I for ages, with her head right up near the top of the bed and we slept right close to the sides of the bed so she had space around her but we were still very close. because she's so overtired, she might take a bit of time to settle, but i'm sure she will fall asleep.
if that doesn't work, maybe you could get yourself into a sort of sitting up position and hold her but in a way that you can rest your head and close your eyes and get some light sleep until she goes into a deeper sleep and then you can put her down.
you have to get into the right head space and rise to the challenge otherwise its gonna be a loooooong night.

oh yeah, have you been drinking any coffee as i found this really affected my DS but not my DD2. my DS stayed awake for hours and hours once after i had a strong coffee. maybe to calm you guys and get you a bit more relaxed you could drink camomille tea.
i know how tense a baby can make you. my 7 month old is not sleeping so great at the moment.

I agree with what mysonroger has said. She sounds like she will be very overtired and it's no doubt going to take a huge cry for her to fall asleep. Everything mysonroger has said is spot on though so give that a go. Let us know how you go darl. It's horrible when they won't sleep.

:iagree: That's really good advice!
Your poor bubba must be so tired (and you must be exhausted too :hugs:)
I too would just jump in bed with her or have her sleep on my chest. She is still so new and tiny so don't worry about getting into any bad habits.

I remember the first couple months very well with my 2, its walking zombie land!
You little bubba is probably very overtired, so she is going to be hard to get to sleep as you have found! Some things that helped me when my boys were like that are;-
A warm bath with me (they loved having a feed in the tub as well, really helped them relax)
A massage
Carrying around in a sling
Bouncer
In bed with me on the boob
Some sought of white noise (vac cleaner, radio not tuned in etc)
Wrapped nice and snuggly
Also if she is crying alot, apparently they can swallow alot of air which causes wind pain, so maybe hold her over your shoulder and burp her or put a little pressure on her tummy to ease her discomfort! Slings and baths are also really good for wind pain!
Goodluck I hope you get some much needed rest soon, hun!

Thanks alot to everyone that helped, and special thanx to mysonroger u were on the money with overtired & stress from us, we were so tense coz it was our appointments to get the centrelink side sorted, but she must have known. Dad slept with her for some hours and she only woke for a feed.

Yea she does gulp alot of air, we have tried all sorts of new idea's with it and all forms of teets etc, she seems to do well on NUK teets. And even better now so that we tried her on S26 (for lactose intolerant), hubby guessed she might have had a slight lactose intolerancy so we tried her on it and its calming nicely, along with dribble of Gripe Water on her dummy brings all the wind up.
A warm bath with me (they loved having a feed in the tub as well, really helped them relax) - we never thought to feed her during, but she's still unsure of the bath lol
A massage - yea, she loves gentle rubs and just gentle gripping on her back
Carrying around in a sling - its on the list lol
Bouncer - just like hubby when he was a bub, she loves the bouncer in front of telly lol
In bed with me on the boob - have had problems with 'on-the-boob', inverted nipples and bubs is a biter, so the pain is intolerable so i have been pumping instead
Some sought of white noise (vac cleaner, radio not tuned in etc) - Hubby got ahold of a CD Collection created by Raimond Lap called Lovely Baby & Lovely Sleepy Baby, its a 3cd set with extras, and the sounds are amazing, we all listen to it at bed time. we highly recomend it. http://www.lovelybabycd.com if its ok to post that link here... sorry if it isnt :o
Wrapped nice and snuggly - this again she loves, but only with either both or at least one arm out, the feeling of warmth with the freedom mixed keeps her quiet hehe
Thanks again so much for the help everyone!
(and so quick to respond lol)
Thanks!

and bubs is a biter, so the pain is intolerable
Hmmm, sounds to me likes she's not attaching properly, she's only 2 weeks old so it's not "biting" as such. Can you talk to a good lactation consultant perhaps?
Hope you have a good night tonight :goodvibes::hugs:

:iagree:. Maybe there is an attachment issue.

As the other girls have said have you seen a lactation consultant? i have had sooo many troubles breastfeeding with attachment issues & nipple issues so they recommended me to use a nipple shield (which has helped sooo much). We are slowly weaning bubs off the shield & onto the breast as using the shield will also stretch your nipples which can help with them if they are inverted! I have also found that a soothing thing after the feed it to use rite-aid hydro gel breastpads and using lansinoh cream as i have extremely painful & cracked/bleeding nipples
if you want to talk more feel free to pm me
