When I first was told about Vitex, the lady at the drug store said it should be taken in the second half of the cycle.
That was also mentioned by a couple of other people in a thread recently about Vitex.

I've been taking it regulary for about a month now and my ovulation seems to have been seriously delayed.

I was just doing some reading and found this bit of information:

" It also seems to suppress output of follicle stimulating hormone (the substance that triggers ovulation) while promoting higher levels of the chemical messenger dopamine."

I got this from here if anyone wants to read the full page:

I've stopped taking Vitex immeadiately and will take it as soon as I am sure ovulation has occured.

Also started drinking Grapefruit Juice which is supposed to help with ovulation.

Yes i myself have only found this out and i've been a 28 day cycle for the ages and yet when i took vitex from CD1 i had a 36 day cycle and i am now a cd27 dpo6 so another long cycle, then a someone said NO only take it from ovulation because it helps pregestrone but supresses the LH  i really need to do my research better before jumping in head first

I also found the same thing - I went from a 26 day cycle to a 36 day cycle and I was ovulating much later. I have stopped taking Vitex this month - just taking EPO and Maca instead. I am interested to see what my cycle will be like this month.
