Our outside play equipment has become home to a number of spiders. They've been brushed off, but either they return or others take their place. My partner suggested surface spraying everything, but my first instinct is that that's as bad for the kids as it is for the spiders!

Anyone have any strategies for this?

I spray lemon oil on my windows and outdoor furniture to turn spiders away - doesn't hurt them or the kids/pets but does keep them away.

Don't know if it will work on the outdoor toys though but might be worth a try.

Lemon oil sounds like it might be good. Do you make it up yourself? Is it a commercial product? Health shop? I could spray around the bottoms of everything for a start which might help stop them moving in.
