Im due in May with bub number 2 and was wondering what people bought new for bubs?
We have alot of stuff from DS that is still in good condition like pushchair/pram, high chair, bottles etc
Ds,s cot was second hand and I would love to buy a new cot especially as the cot is now a toddler bed that ds is using but DH dosent want to :(
What did you feel you should buy new for bubs even if you had stuff from previous child?

I have bought a few new things for baby number 2.
A few new clothes and bibs as DD1 realy wore out a lot of her clothes.
A couple of new baby toys (becasue I couldn't help myself:p)
A new rocker (I already have a bouncinett but don't realy like it)
A new play gym. (threw away the old one as I want a nicer one:o)
The usual things that get used up, nappies, wipes, cotton balls you know that sort of thing.
another change mat cover

............what else?
Can't remember, I guess just things that wore out the first time, or things that I want this time aroudn that we don't already have and things that we will now need two of.

Given that #2 will be a girl we'll be getting new clothes for her even though I kept any of DS's that were still good.

Also a new car seat. Tom's was handed down to us, it's still technically 'safe' to use (never been in a crash, very good condition, not "too old" according to Aus standards) but I'd still prefer to get a new one.

We moved countries when DS was 18mths old, so we didn't have any of his baby stuff here, so I had to get everything

the only things I got new were, the cot mattress, a pram, monitor, sheets, blankets, and a few other bits and peices, everything else was second hand

if I still had all of DS's stuff, I would've only brought a new mattress and that was it, apart from girl clothes lol

While we were expecting no 2, we got DD1 a new bed (so the cot could be used by the baby), a new car seat (so the baby could use the old one once out of the baby capsule), plus a tandem pram (for the first months).

For DD2 we got her a new rocker, a new mobile, a new hugabub sling, a breastfeeding pillow for mummy - some new clothes and a couple of baby toys.

It saved lots of $$ being able to reuse things, but its also nice to get something new and special for the new bub!

I have re-used everything.
The only addition I have made is a jolly jumper (I never had one for DD1).

I brought some new clothes,a new swing/rocker thing and a new playgym/mat thing.
Everything else we still had from DS1.

A new mattress definately.

Thats the only thing I am sure of at this stage (apart from girls clothes!!). It is recommended to buy a new mattress for each child due to SIDS risk. The one my DS used is still in perfect condition, I still wont be risking it :).

My DD is 2 next month and our DS is due then too. We bought DD a new bed a few months ago as #2 will be using her nursery furniture.

DS got some new toys, clothes, activity mat, rugs, sheets, swing and I am also looking at buying a feeding chair as I didnt have one last time around....

We have saved heaps by being able to reuse the items we used with DD. I also bought grobags for our DD in unisex colours - she had been in them since she was 3 months old - and only stopped using them a month or so ago when she moved into a bed! That is going to save us heaps as well :)

:iagree: pretty much everything else I was happy to hand down, but a mattress is new to each child.

I wanted a new cot, needed a new pram, matress, walker, bouncer..

I bought a matress and basinette oh and a pram off a friend of mine who has a son the same age as DS, so second hand...

Have also bought, dummies, bottles (just in case), and a couple of clothes, if it's a girl we'll need more clothes, if a boy we have 'most' of DS's clothes, I did give a few away so would have to replenish them...

But will also need a new walker, bouncer, and baby toys....blankets, sheets, muslin wraps, socks, singlets, etc etc..
