Hi there
Well I have 2 issues at the moment.
First ds has a rash on his bottom and it looks like it is from his poo. I am using sudocream which is slowly clearing it but not sure what's it's from. No new food, he has just started formula a week ago and has also been on antibiotics for the same amount of time. Probably a stupid question but would this be the reason.
Second, every time I go to change his nappy, he won't lay still and rolls, screams and stands up. I am now putting nappies on him while he's standing which is not a habit I want to get into. This is particular tiring when he does 4 poos in a morning and he rolls before I can wipe his bum down.
Any advise on either of these would be greatly appreciated
Thanks
hmm I guess it could be the formula or the meds affecting his bum... anything new introduced can upset their bodies... its hard when two things start at once..
I'm having the same problem changing Jack .. and I already have to 'bribe' him to stay still .. my car keys buy me about 5 minutes on his back (he isn't allowed car keys  so he adores them when he gets them) - he also loves the remote (again not allowed usually- so a treat to play with) - in his bed room above his change table we have a toy on a spring (attached to the roof) - he loves to hold it... and if he figets or rolls he has to let go of the toy... so that kinda helps him stay put too ..
I hope that helps ??!! good luck .. .they are just too young to negotiate with!!!!

My ds has just been on antibiotics :( too and his bum flared up badly. Could have been the drugs or and more than likely, his teeth. I have been putting a layer of vaseline on before the sudocream and it has now cleared up.
With the not lying still while nappy changing, I have found that by giving K something his isn't normally allowed to play with (eg Dad's watch) and singing to him, he lies still much better.
Hope this helps :)
I'm just going to echo what has already been suggested. The formula, antibiotics or the sickness requiring antibiotics could all have cause the red bottom. Their bodies are just so sensitive and reactive that we just cope the best we can. If it's clearing up, just stick to what you are doing.
Re wriggling during nappy changes - distraction is the key. DS went though that around the time he learnt to crawl and nappy changes where horrible for me :banghead: Nappy change time toys that he's not normally allowed are good. And I found changing him on the ground useful too because at least if he rolled away, I didn't have to worry about catching him from the change table. It is a phase they seem to go through and don't worry about setting up bad habits. I had to change DS standing up for a little while but he grew out of it and now lies down for me rather co-operatively.
Anti-fungal cream (like Daktarin) will cure it if nothing else helps. Just make sure it's the proper cream for babies bottoms because it's a lot thicker than normal cream. My eldest used to get very bad nappy rash, especially when she was teething or sick. This cream worked wonders. She would squirm around too, and get upset - mainly because the nappy rash was stinging her. As soon as it cleared up she was right.

Is the rash a little bit spotty, like little pimples?? It may be a bit of thrush, antibiotics can cause thrush. Try Daktozin, it may help better than the sudocreme.
