My niece is 7 years old and weighs 27kgs.
She is a bed wetter on average 4 nights out 7. She sleeps like the dead and becomes distressed over the wetting upon waking.
She is getting better at not wetting but in the interim I was hoping someone out there could advise of any products or WAHM's that make pocket Undies or similar for kiddies?
My sister does not wish to revert back to drynites, as she wants her to feel like a big girl and I was wondering if anyone has experience in using a "big girl pocket type underpant" product on their children.
Any suggestions regarding this would be appreciated before my sister goes insane from the constant washing of the bed linen.

My sister use to wet everynight, Mum went to a childrens health place and talked to them it came down to how much she drank during the day, which was very little. They gave her a mat which had an alarm on it (went under the sheet) Once she started to wet the alarm would go off! AND it was LOUD!! with in 2 weeks she had stopped wetting and hasnt done since!!!
Good Luck to your sister!!

Hi CLM,
My DD is only 4.5, but she's not night-dry at all yet, and we've got 2 pairs of "night-knickers" which are pocket style and we stuff them with hemp boosters. The better brand (out of the two I've got) are Happy Heiny's, which I got from http://www.whoopeekiddies.com and the reason I liked them initially was that they come in lots of sizes, right up to really big kids sizes. The stuffing takes some practice, and we do sometimes still get leaks. But there's also plenty of other nappy sites that do training pants. I am pretty sure that http://www.ozclothnappies.org have recently added a new section about training pants.
:D
I can't help with the larger training pants for nights - sorry. As the PP suggested, checkout www.ozclothnappies.org for more links.
Re washing bedding - has you sister tried doing a sort of double layer of bedding to help with changing sheets? I'll try to describe it better - you have your normal bed linen down, then add a breathable water resistant layer like an old felted wool blanket which has been lanonlised so it works similar to a wool cover (you can sometimes find pure wool blankets in OP shops really cheaply), then have an absorbant layer (like an old towel around the wet zone) and another sheet ontop. That would mean the bed isn't getting wet and for a quick night time change, you just whip off the wet top layers and the sheet below is still dry and ready to sleep on. The wool blanket won't need washing every time - just airing out.
