My homebirthed VBAC baby is earthside

Last night my beautiful daughter Sage Catherine was roared into the world in my lounge room :) She is 9lb 5oz, 53cm long and cute as a button :flowerz:

It was a long labour, but despite being told by 'them' that I couldn't do it - I did it! Sage led her way to the breast and latched on like a pro. We are both doing really well and I feel so proud of myself :goodvibes:



VBAC's are worth every ounce of effort that it takes to fight for the right to have one. I was told that because of two ectopic pregnancies (one ruptured cornual) and then the subsequent c/sect that a natural birth would be impossible. I feel so proud of myself for proving 'them' wrong :D

Its weird to see everyone saying how strong and brave I am :ecomcity: cause I dont really feel it. Dont get me wrong - I feel really proud of myself and like its an enormous achievement; but I dont feel that giving birth should be made out to be something super-duper special. It's just a normal bodily function that I finally made use of :D

I guess the bit that DOES make this birth particularly special is the fact that I was told that it couldn't be done... God it feels good to be able to sling that back into 'their' face :laughing:
