Hi Haylei,
I feel for you. both my DS and DD have cows milk protein soy protein and Egg intolerences. I weaned my Son onto Neocate at 8weeks but I am Breastfeeding my daughter on a strict diet for myself (almost 5 months now). I don't really have any advice re drying up but wanted to let you know that often you CAN keep feeding with bubs having intolerances. Obviously I don't know your whole story and am no doctor, you need to do what is best for your bub. I hope you have a good paediatrician supporting you in whatever you choose but personally, I have always regretted weaning my son. PM me if you want or take a look at the feeding/allergie/intolerances section :hugs:

sorry to hear your having to stop breastfeeding, but sounds like its better too for your son's sake, hope the new formula doesn't cause him any problems, poor thing having a milk intollerance

you can ask your GP for a tablet to stop your milk (sometimes it doesn't work though), also cold cabbage leaves are good to reduce your milk, and soothes your breasts as well, also when your getting a little bit engorged express a little, just enough to make you feel comfortable again, and nothing more, you can do that by hand in the shower or with a pump

good luck

Yeah, I'd call the ABA, it is unusual to have to give up breastfeeding due to intolerances...most of the time you can still nurse through it.

Who gave you the advice to give up breastfeeding?

All the best :)

I have to agree with the above posts - you can still breastfeed if you want to when a baby has intollerances (I did - and so have many others).

Yes I think perhaps a call to the ABA would be a good idea. The only reason I could think of that you would be advised to stop for intolerances is if his intolerance is to your milk and your milk alone. It's unusual but not unheard of.

Anyway I don't know your whole story and I just wanted to send some **hugs** to you because you must be feeling very sad. I hope that perhaps you can get some advice to help you with your feelings of engorgement or maybe even some advice that could help you BF again - even if it's only part time.
