Very quick one girls
MOS - you are a competition winning machine! If I ever enter a competition I'm coming round to rub your belly for good luck! :p Such an awesome prize!
Dondons - glad to hear your hubby is on the mend!
Lambkin - gorgeous piccies. Gee I'd love to get some professional shots done.
As for the bubs on the move, Kizza is rediculous now. She's still not moving around in a very controlled fashion, but far out, she gets places FAST! I put her down in the middle of the room and the next second she's at the TV cabinet pulling stuff out :hair: (has just learnt the art of leaning on just one hand so she can use the other to grab things while she's on all fours) This crawling thing was very exciting at first, but it's loosing it's appeal
Went shopping yesterday for Kizza's meals... got some ricotta cheese to mix with veges and fruit, which the CHN told me to do, some baby pasta - which she had last night and did very well, and some natural yoghurt to mix with stuff. Just to make it all a bit more interesting. She had a bit of Weetbix for brekky this morning, and that went down okay. I personally hate Weetbix until they're coated in sugar, lol.
Anyway, have to get her to bed - whingey girl!

Terrible night sleep here, Lara had a temp that just wouldn't ease even after panadol. So sat up cooling her head with a cloth. It did eventually go down and we got a little sleep before Chaise woke us at 6.30.
Dondon, glad to hear hubby is doing ok. Not so good that he cant help with bub.
This reminded me of all the things my dad has done to himself over the years. When he was young he cut 3 of his fingers off in a brick saw, couldn't be sewn back on. He said it was great as he got compo that bought our first house. Yeah he's a lovely man. Another time he was busy outside using another maching that turns all the soil with big blades, well it go stuck in reverse and ran up his leg. You should have heard him scream. I can remember him spilling hot oil on himself and also breaking his ankile in a backyard game of football. And his latest whilst cleaning the fishtank he managed to swallow a heap of water. You know when u drain the water out of the tank with a tube u can suck on the end to get the water started. Well yeah aparently if not treaded his stomach would have blown up. Not sure if this is true or just dad trying to make us feel guilty to go and see him. I refuse to see him anymore. As i said he's a lovely man!
Well that was a bit of useless info hey.
Ok back on track now. Lara is sitting up all by herself now, it's so cute she can sit for a good 10mins or so but then i think she gets tired and rolls onto her tummy.
We pick up our professional shots today. I can't wait to see them. Will post a few.
I have completely forgotten what everyone has said. Hopeless. Oh BB i hope your party is fantastic! We have a xmas one next weekend but i think it will be pretty boring, all the olds.
Just checked on Chaise as it is very quiet here, she is fast asleep on the rug in the lounge room. Too cute, dh checks on her before he goes to bed everynight and the other night he said she was fast asleep on the floor with her butt in the air. Kids are funny they are either awake or asleep no in between.
who was it who said their bub "sleep rolls" and when asleep goes onto all fours??
I forget:confused:
But Charli has just started doing this! ALL the time. It drives me nuts lol cause I sleep with her. I woke up thismorning and she was on her knees, on her belly. bum in the air asleep. So funny. She NEVER sleeps on her tummy she hates it

I turned 30 this year, 6 weeks after I had Nicklas, needless to say, it was a very quiet, forgettable affair. Seems like fancy dress parties are the thing to do though, everyone I went to highschool with had one...each.
Oh but you should!!!!

Happy Birthday stg!! I hope you are having a better time now :hugs: We all adore you. Wish I could be there to help you celebrate!
Thanks for all the lovely comments about El's photos. My friend is so sweet. She took all these photos of Elliot and my sisters' kids and was meant to just give us a disc so we could print them all etc., and she printed them all for us! We got heaps of framed ones, Christmas cards etc. She spoiled us rotten. What a sweetheart.
It's Mum's Birthday today so we are at her place. DS is having a nap so I am hanging in the bedroom with him while I check my emails and stuff. I'm paranoid about him rolling off of the bed so I'm too scared to leave him!
I got some emails about re-enrolling for Uni for next year. I was going to enrol at a different uni and finish my degree online, but I missed the cut off date (mostly due to laziness and moving/surgery distraction). If I was still at Uni, I'd have just finished my second last Prac and would only have a year to go!! Wah. Am thinking about trying to enrol in just one class for next year. It'd only be one day, so maybe Mum woudl look after DS, but I'm too scared to ask her. I dunno. Feeling kind of glum about the whole thing. I miss Uni SOOOO much, it's crazy. I love it. I feel like my brain is turning to mush. Oh well. maybe I will talk to DP about it
Better go and be social now that DS is waking up xx
oh you poor darling!! Well cheers to a full nights sleep for you :hugs:
that would be nice!
THank you all for your wishes - and for the virtual party, it really cheered me up, dunno what Id do without you guys lol.. from pregnancy to now its been great to have people to chat to who are in the same place as me :goodvibes::goodvibes:

Hey girls
happybirthday Stg!! Great surprise party MOS - I've looking for an excuse to let my hair down ;)
And Stg, it's my little miss who gets on all fours - wait til Charli does the push ups to go with it. Cute, but annoying cos it's wakes them up :hair:
Lambkin - I'm looking for something to do with my brain too. Was thinking about doing a photography course online :o I did the first semester of the Griffith Fine Arts course on my weekends while I was in Yr12, but then I chickened out because the Arts is such a hard industry to be successful in... So then I decided to get a job and travel, then met my dropkick ex and that was it for all my dreams... what a success story  So I'm keen to make something of myself at some point.
C&L'sMum - hope Lara's doing better.
Ingi - congrats on your wedding :goodvibes: Look forward to the pics! Aww, I wanna get married. lol
Oh! Speaking of which, my Mum and Step-dad fiiiiiinally have a wedding date (been together 10yrs) for the 14th February next year. Awww. I decided for them because they've just been hopeless at organising themselves.
Anyway, time to get dinner on... lamb and hamouli kebabs with taziki (sp??) with greek salad and turkish bread...yum..
happybirthday stg hope you are enjoying your virtual party.

Speaking of which, I really must get started organising Liams christening next year. I KNEW if I left it up to DH nothing would happen - he hasnt disappointed me there:rolleyes:
Today Im going with DH and Liam to visit the IL's. Everytime DH takes Liam there he (Liam) comes back feral and unsettled - just overstimulated and everyone wanting to have a cuddle etc etc and then we have to pick up the pieces all night. Will try and keep a tighter rein on it all today.
Anyways, DH out of the shower so its my turn. Have a great day all, and if Im not back, have a great weekend! Take care:flowerz:

Quiet today... everyone must have a life but me
Thought I'd jump on while Kiz is asleep in the media room (only room with aircon). DP's in there watching the V8's. Having a BBQ tomorrow since it will be Skaife's last race (who DP goes for).
K8y - Hope Summer's Christening was just perfect. She'll be so beautiful in her gown. :goodvibes: Can't wait to see the photos.
BB- Fantastic  - I'm coming round to your place for dinner. What time suits?
Hi All! Bloody stinker of a day today! Yucko.
We had pics done at Pixie Photo this morning. I have to say, yes they are pricey, and a bit pushy, but my goodness, I am so in love with the photos we purchased. :smiliedance:I can't wait to get them for our living room and bedroom walls. Well worth it, I reckon. Will have to take pics of them when we get them. Nicklas was very well behaved and flirty with the camera. He's a little show off I think.
Can't imagine what summer is gonna be like after days like today.
Hi all,
well must be the day for Photos, we went to the portrait place this morning and got some family photos, we got a great package deal only paid $300 and saved over $160!
they are really nice photos, Kobi did really well considering he was very tired and grumpy.
we are having a big clean up tomorrow because next weekend we are having a party (my birthday, plus late house warming) we are having a dress up 80's theme, still have to go out and buy a skirt, will be off to the salvos next week.
BB - sound like you have been busy, hope the party goes well and you have a good time.
i have booked Kobi into the doctors next thursday to get this "thing" on his bottom checked again, doctor thinks it may be a cyst and will have to get removed if thats the case, so :fingerscrossed: it goes well.
well better go and wake up Alice, she has been asleep for a few hours.
have a good weekend everyone!
Hi party animals! What a night, eh? Great party stg.
Well DH and I went shopping after I cleaned the whole house. I was up at 6:30am and even vacuumed with Sam in the Baby Bjorn. Worked up a big sweat and then the shower has never felt so good!
We went to Castle Towers and wow, their parent's rooms are amazing. I've never been in them before. Very nice. I bought 2 singlets from JustJeans and fell in love with a summer dress in there. So much so that I looked for something just like it in every shop I went in afterwards. Don't you hate that?! The problem with the one in Just Jeans was that it was literally HALF A METRE too long! I can cop a few cm's here and there but HALF A METRE?! Am I REALLY that short?! I really want it. I might try it on again and see where I would have to take it up. It's tiered so it might ruin the dress. It was a beautiful pinky-orangy colour (can't remember the name of that colour) but a bit open at the cleavage for me, but I could wear one of my cute little singlets underneath. Oh I sooooooo want it!!!
I hope everything went well for k8y and Summer today. I'm sure it would have. Can't wait to see pics of Summer in that DEVINE gown!:yelclap:
A few annoying things happened at the shops today. We were sitting in the food court eating our salads and there was a couple sitting next to us trying to feed their baby, a little older than Sam. He was in a high chair and they were feeding him baby food. Then these 2 girls walked over, maybe aged 2 and 4 and started trying to play with him. They were putting their stuffed toy on the baby's shoulder and then started picking up his toys and playing with them too, waving things in front of him and distracting him as much as possible. The mother asked very nicely for them back "please" and they just ignored her and kept on trying to play with the little boy. They were sooooo full on and I couldn't help but watch as this poor couple were trying to feed their little boy while the girls' mother was just sittin about 2 tables away, chatting away to her friend, not even watching her own kids. Then the father of the little boy sat on the other side of the high chair, obviously trying to block these kids and so they came over to Sam. One walked straight up and put her hand into the pram and started touching his face. I told her "please don't touch him, he needs to go to sleep"... so she waited until I looked away and grabbed his hand. :hair: Funnilly enough, Sam hit it away and when I looked at her, she jumped back. We ended up getting up and leaving. It was just so annoying. Oh and DH growled from behind the pram which was a crack up and she went back to her mum after that!
So then about 5 mins later we decided to stop and have a nice coffee in Casba (where we had a meet a few months back). So we got in there, sat down, ordered coffees and the waiter told us they don't serve "just coffees" between 12 and 2... so DH said "well we'll leave then". What else would we have done? Eaten something fattening and screwed up our healthy eating plans just so we could have a coffee? The place was half empty for F**K's sake! :banghead: How rude! It looks like a cafe to me! Maybe they should have had a sign at the door or something so as not to waste our time and make us look like idiots.
Anyway, sorry for my rant and didn't mean to offend anyone who lets their kids run around food courts! ;)

argh annoying kids come from annoying parents who cant look after them.
Thanks stg. I try not to judge other people's parenting as I know we all do things differently... but some kids ARE really actually quite annoying! Anyone else find this?
Here's a quick update: My mum still hasn't told me about the lump in her breast but she got her results back (got goss from my sister) and it's just fatty tissue. This is the same thing I had when I had a similar scare a few years ago.
On the down-side, I spoke to my bestie the other day and she mentioned her mum had the same kind of scare - found a lump and had an ultrasound and mammogram, referred for biopsy, results came back suspicious... I had been calling her every few days for updates. Anyway I got a text from her last night saying it's cancer and it's being removed 17th Dec, but she wasn't up to talking so will call me when she feels she can talk. How sad. I really want to do something, I'm just not sure what to do. I want to give them all their space because if she couldn't talk, then I don't think her seeing me will do any good. Maybe I can send the whole family something... I don't know. I don't want to make a big deal out of it though....
Any ideas ladies? I just want to give her a big hug. :crying:
We're off to Westfield first thing in the morning. We're going to get there about half an hour before they open and queue up for a Santa photo. I've got Sam's outfit all laid out ready. I can't wait! I hope he doesn't crack it! :p
We're also going to take the port-a-cot back and get our money back as I won one so don't need the one we bought last week.
I made 3 whole trays of purees this arvo as I'd run out. I did one tray of carrots, one of pumpkin and one pear. These are all the foods he's been introduced to so far. In a few days, I'll introduce apples then I can mix apples with pear! Yay! Simple things, eh?
Man it's quiet in here without k8y. I bet she's scoffing the rest of the lemon cake... if there's any left over! k8y, hurry up and get some pics on FB and let us all know how wonderful your day was! :D

Yeah but kids like in the shopping centre, they probably arent bad kids, they probably just dont know any better cause the parents wouldnt supervise properly, is what im getting at
when I was 17 I had a lump in my breast. Was benign fibroadenoma.
I still got it . Its rather big.
hey all, very quiet on here I am atthe moment laughing at Pip trying to crawl...she gets her knees up but not at the same time as her arms and then tries to move whilst on her belly put the xmas tree up last night looks good, took a couple of photos of Pip in front of it, she loved the lights. will post some piccys soon.
going out for lunch with all from mother's group and partners (except mine who is working )
anyway better keep getting ready!!
have a good day all
hi all
DH has taken Liam out for a walk, and Im about to make lunch, so this post will be quick.
MOS - I would probably just send your bestie a "thinking of you" card with a message to say the family is in your prayers (if you pray). Hope everything goes smoothly for your friends mum.
Well, Liam slept from 8.30 -5.15 last night, with not so much as a peep!:yelclap::smiliedance: And then after a feed, went back down from 6-7.30. Hopefully a sign of things to come!
he settled really easily too, which was easy to do as we'd given him a bath with heaps of yummy Johnson bedtime bath and lotion, and brand new pj's (in size 0:eek: - where has my baby gone) and he was so soft and pink and cuddly and sleepy I just didnt want to put him down:cloud9:.
OK, can hear the boys coming back now, so off to make lunch - not such a cook like some of you - lunch is toasted ham cheese and tomato sandwiches, apple, and packet of tiny teddy bickies!
have a great Sunday all, take care:flowerz:
Posted this in the wrong thread, so here it is in the right one!
MOS I'm sorry to hear about your bestie's mum :( I can't count the number of people I know affected by breast (or any really) cancer. It is such a horrible disease. I agree that a thinking of you card might be a nice tough, and just let her know you'll be there for her whenever she is ready to talk about it.
In good news, Nicklas just rolled tummy to back! :yelclap:He's been doing back to tummy for weeks but literally gets so frustrated that he can't get back. Maybe now I can stop having to roll him back over ever 30 seconds!
We went frame shopping today. Boy they're not cheap when you need 10x13, 16x16 and 20x20. That said, they weren't as expensive as I thought they'd be, but when we add a matt and the rest of it. But as one of the women said, "Why pay so much for photos to frame them in a cheap frame?" She said she has people who do the glamour shots and pay $3000 for pictures come in and want the cheapest frame they have! Doesn't make much sense. We only spent $375 on pictures, but want to frame them right so they look good on the wall. We're hoping they'll be "unveiled" at Christmas dinner. IF we can get them framed in time. :fingerscrossed:
Have we heard how Summer's christening went yet?
Goodness, I'm gone for a couple of days and your all bored without my chatter to keep you all going :laughing:
No personals, but just quickly, everything was great, mad crazy busy and HOT HOT HOT *k8y gets down on her knees and thanks the lord the ducted air con was installed on Friday*.... (34 degrees)
Anyway, got a fair bit of stuff to do today so will post about it all later (cleaning, packing up hire plates etc etc).
Haven't even looked at the pics myself yet!!!
Plus woke up at midnight in AGONY with a toothache :crying: had to take some panadeine today, couldn't be helped, bought it at lunch time. Couldn't sleep last night hardly at all so today feel like a walking woozy zombie after all the running around.
Off to the dentist on Monday
See? even for a quick post I still :ecomcity:
Just popping in to say hi.
Im going out tomorrow night. Charlotte is at babysitter from 8pm-7am. It doesnt bother me leaving her (toom much) cause she sleeps (usually) But now me saying this she will crack it and ill have to come home!
But its mums x-mas work party. She works from jupiters casino on gold coast and they are hiring out a whole club and stuff. Should be good. But it means trekking from sunshine to gold coast tomnorrow, then back home the next day.. on public transport :(
but I guess its kinda like a belated b/d drinks (though our virtual party went off friday night!)
gosh everyone must be busy or I am just overly bored
had a good lunch today met some of the hubbys from mother's group, glad to get out of the house, tried to go for a walk this morning but it rained in the car on the way to the path...so did the exciting grocery shopping instead.
k8y sounds like the christening went well hope your tooth stops bothering you soon.
MOS :hugs: to your bestie, though good to hear your mum is OK. I hate cancer seems like everyone I know has a relative who has it....my dad has prostate cancer and once of my close friends mum has pancreatic cancer it is awful.... both are inoperable so it is just treatable which sucks as well. I think you just hae to do what they want...my friend just wanted some time out talking about something else!
anyway onto some good news, dh is home tonight so happy, might take some time out and go and finish the xmas shopping early tomorrow...or just sleep in and let dh get up with Pip!:p
Just tried to get Nicklas to self-settle to sleep. DH wants to try the whole controlled crying thing, only bc all the older women at his work keep telling him that's what we "have" to do and its "the only thing" that will work. I am not comfortable with the CC. Even if I was, everything I've read about it says not to start it until 6 months. He's got 3 more weeks before that mark! So I put him in his cot, walked away, he started screaming. I picked him up to calm him down, put him in his cot and stood there, and he grabbed his feet, rolled from side to side, smiled at me...no interest in sleeping. But he doesn't like getting in put in his cot and left!
I just read some of the stuff on the baby whisperer's site, so I'm going to try that tomorrow night (15 minutes of wind-down time, etc) and we really need to develop a bed time routine. Maybe if I can get that working by the time he's 6 months old, the whole CC thing will be a moot point.
babywez, I hope it works out for you before he's 6 months old. It's a shame there are soooo many people who love to give advice and also a shame your DH is listening to them without considering your wishes. I think if you're not into the whole CC thing, then it's not going to work anyway as you're going to be too stressed out about it, etc.
Today was hectic. DH and I went bowling as part of my "other" job and we had a ball. Sam fell asleep as soon as we got there and slept through it all, blaring Christmas carols and all!
Sam had his Santa photo taken this morning. We got there half an hour before the shopping centre opened and one of the girls told us to come back at 10am... no mention of the ticket system. Luckily a man who worked there quietly told us to take a number. We got number 5 which was great but when we went back later and waited in line to get into the Santa area, not many other people were aware they had to take a number. So there were people stood in a line for ages without a number. And the very first kid vomited EVERYWHERE so we had to wait abut 15 mins for a Westfield cleaner to come and clean up Santa's sleigh and chair, etc. We got free coffee vouchers though while we were waiting so it was worth it! Sam was great too. He just sat there looking around, smiling occasionally. While DH and I were looking at the pics on the computer afterwards, we realised Sam was still sitting on Santa's lap. We turned around and he's still there smiling away. It was very cute.
I took a pic of the photo so it will be bad quality but I will post it soon... in the next few days.
I'm having one of those afternoons. I feel like cr@p. I'm tired and grumpy and snapped at the not-so-annoying SIL this arvo. She came back later and asked me what my little huff and puff was all about. :o Oopsy. I don't like Sundays as I don't get to spend a whole day with DH until next weekend. I need to get some things printed off so will have to pop into my old boss' office tomorrow so I will take him some choccies for Christmas I think... and I also have to figure out what to do for dinner tomorrow night. I might do a satay sauce bought from Woolies with some chicken and veggies and rice... boring, but I haven't done it in YEARS. I'm just over living here again really. Nothing in particular - I just want my space. Anybody notice I haven't whinged about my IL's for a while? Maybe a week or so? Or have I and I forgot?!
Anyway I'm just needing some space right now. This week away after Christmas will be amazing. I can't wait.
Hey, DH told me today that $1,000 we get for being eligible for the FTB should be paid to us between the 8th and 24th of this month in case anyone is interested. We don't have to do anything, it happens automatically... just not necessarily right on the 8th.
And thanks ladies, I will get a "thinking of you" card for my friend and will send it tomorrow. Great idea.
I bought my mum the cutest Chrissy pressie. It was so cute I bought myself the same thing! It's a little sugar and creamer set and matching small rectangular platter from DJ's. It has cute little cup cakes all over it. I love it... and am saddened by the fact that they are now going to be stored until we get our own place... :(
Ummm... oh, about our meet on Thurs, would any of you mind if I invited someone else? This lady I walk with on Thursday mornings may be interested and that's coincidentally the same time and place we normally meet so rather than re-scheduling her, I'd like to give her the chance to join us. She has a little girl called Charlotte and is really nice. Be honest, I don't mind if you guys want to keep it just us - but I say the more, the merrier! She's a hubber too but just not as hard-core as myself! :D
I'm now entering more than just baby comps. I'm after a holiday now! A friend of mine said that he had some friends in England who had their minds set on winning a car... 8 months later and many many competitions and they won a new car! So I've decided to try for absolutely anything. Oh and we returned the port-a-cot to Toys R Us this morning and got our money back since I won one last week. While I was waiting in the queue DH ran to get it from the car and this man started chatting to me. He was SOOOOO talking to my (.)(.)'s. I was wearing a top that I got yesterday. DH said I looked hot in it but now I'm thinking a little too hot. I feel heaps better since losing a bit of weight... DH convinced me to get these 2 singlets (2 for $40) as he liked them on me... now I'm wondering if it was wise letting him dress me.
Well off to sleep now. Sorry for rambling.
happybirthday Jess!!! :smiliedance:

:sleeping:Yup Im tired again....Casey wakes pretty much everynight now,its either his teeth so the only thing that settles him is milk(if he starts to scream) he now has a cold:crying:so thats why he woke last night,coughing/snuffly nose....Im so over these bugs :hair:.............Jacob is still not 100%....Casey is very grizzly @ times cant blame him but it gets draining when both boys are crying for me:hissy:................argh well.........I know I shouldn't give him milk but hes not well at the moment.....I can see Im going to pay for this later on!

BBB :hugs: for little Casey. Who says you shouldn't give him milk. If it's working for you now then I'm all for it! Doesn't mean it's going to last but the poor little tyke is sick and teething and your doing the best job!
MOS I didn't see much whinging. Must be building up in there :D
I really must get a Santa pick done but I checked out the Westfield Santa the other day and wasn't impressed with him either
stg sounds like a big weekend down the coast!
babywez CC can be so upsetting for all involved. Don't feel pressured if you don't want to do it. I too used the baby whisperer and it worked magic on Summer. She says it's fine for them to do the 'mantra' cry, which is not the escalating screaming, but just the repetitive tired whinge sound. I also sat in the room with her so she could see me there and felt reassured and not abandoned. I would do the 'shush pat' first until she was calm and drowsy, then move away but sit in her line of vision and read a magazine or tap away here on the lap top.
Well Saturday was so hot, though I know I said that already but thank god for the air con.
The service was lovely but the stand in priest followed a slightly different service so all my hard work in getting the order of service booklets done for everyone was a waste of time :hair:
Summer stayed calm throughout the whole thing. Though she was getting in and out of clothes and passed around and shunted here and there, same when home. So when time for a feed and a nap she was overtired and just went mental for 45mins while I was suppose to be out there in the kitchen cooking finger food and sorting drinks. So I was stressed.
Lovely all my friends pitched in and helped make salads and cook the finger foods and had their daughters pass it all around. Even a close friend came in and took over calming her down for me so I could get out there.
Had a lovely time.
DP's mates all got smashed. 2 ended up passing out here, one dropped a bottle and smashed it and walked blood everywhere, another spilt beer everywhere (luckily tiles), but by the evening when everyone was gone, except DP's stragglers, I was exhausted cleaning up everything, but my neighbour Nola pitched in and we got it done quick!
Summer looked so lovely and she got some amazing gifts.
A lovely swarovski crystal dummy too from my 'bestie' who didn't stay long but apparently she had a sore back.
Anyway, my tooth is still very painful. Have to ring dentist soon for an appt. Yesterday was so exhausted that people were ringing and leaving messages and I still haven't rung them back. Still too exhausted lol...
Today, taking all the hire stuff back, visiting a friend in hospy who had a bub on Thursday night (emergency c-section). She had placenta previa (sp?) but instead of the booked in ceasarean that was likely, the bub started coming 2 weeks early so hence the emergency, the poor love and off to the dentist.
Plus tonight at 6pm we have our child care orientation. Still haven't sorted our bottle issues with her, but DP and I said we'll just pay for her spot even if she doesn't go in straight away so I don't feel so stressed about it anymore.
I am waiting for the baby whisperer to arrive that I bought on ebay. Im going to start trying it.
She escalates easy though
I can see it might work at night where she gets sooo sleepy but for naps during the day? yeah Im doubtful but Ill keep my mind open since I know its worked for many
:)
Im off to gold coast soon. Be back tomorrow arvie.
Walked w/ hubby to work this morning. Its about 3.5-4km roundtrip. We did it Friday morning too. My plan is to do it 3 days a week - Mon Wed Fri. Tuesday and Thursday I play tennis. That gives me the weekend off, or mum and I might play tennis Saturday mornings, too. The hardest part was getting home and drinking water rather than making an iced coffee. I am ready for lunch, but its too early, so I had a muslei bar. Now I just want to stuff my face! :hissy: I guess I'll try to hold out until 11:30, then I have mexican left overs. Not the best, I know, but have to thaw the chicken, then put them it in marinade so I can have chicken salads the rest of the week. I have to lose at least 7 kgs before we go to the States next year. That is the least I'll be happy with. Anything more than that will just be a bonus.
Hi Everyone
Still feeling cr@ppy but my tablets are working now, they just make me feel quite spaced out
Love the photos Lambkin, especially the Merry Christmas one :goodvibes:

I can't believe we're getting a few crawlers. They just grow too fast. :crying: Chais is 7 months today! He's certainly not crawling, but can def get his way around. You now can't leave anything on the floor, or leave him on his mat if you go to the bathroom.

babywez, you've taken the hardest step committing to so much excercise. Well done! If you're eating well and excercising well, then you're on your way I think. Good on you for not going the iced coffee. I haven't had one in ages and that was a major contributor to my weight gain in the first place.

oconky I agree, exercise does make you feel good, though not while doing it (unless your really fit)
Here is Summers santa photo. We went into the shops to get some thank you cards for all the christening pressies and there was no line up and she was in a good mood and it was a good santa, so I got it done and out of the way. So she's not in her best clothes or anything, but she still looks lovely and her neighbour got her a lovely gold bracelet with her name engraved on it for her christening so am glad I put that on her before went into the shops as my neighbour will love seeing it on her!

Hey girls
Kotakai - :babydust2:CONGRATULATIONS!!!:babydust2: How exciting! Like MOS said, we want details! :D What tablets are you taking for the MS hun? I took Maxalon, and honestly, that stuff was a godsend - I could actually function again and keep food/water down. Glad you're feeling better! The pics are just gorgeous - good looking bunch!!
Babywez - good luck with the weightloss hun - you'll do great! Always helps to have a goal to loose it for. And as for the CC, I couldn't do it myself. Hopefully it doesn't come to that for you if you're not comfortable with it.
Although, having said that, Khirra's always generally been a bit of a mission to get to sleep, but the past couple of weeks, I just sit with her and hold her hand and sing to her for a bit and she just lies there looking out the window and closes her eyes. Or she'll roll onto her belly and curl up like that. Bliss! ...tap on wood now, I've probably jinxed myself. But my bestfriend mentioned when her little man got to about the same age he just started falling asleep easier too - so maybe an age/phase thing?
K8y - Sounds like Summer did brilliantly! Glad you had a lovely day. Nice form on behalf of your DP's mates though  Boys!
Stg - enjoy the casino - you deserve it!
BB - poor Casey. Hope he's a bit more settled tonight. DD's tooth STILL hasn't come through. Been a month now since the first bit of white pushed to the gum. Now it just keeps swelling right up then going back down. She'll still be teething at 20 at the rate she's going just for one tooth. They're such terrible things.
Hey to everyone else
Not much going on here. Kiz got her injections today, poor puppet. Did well though. And she' fast asleep now. No temp so far, which is good as she's gooten one with the others. I went to see about my ear/jaw. Have had a twinging earache on and off for months, and my ears are fine. Now my glands are up behind my ear. My wisdom tooth has been moving again though, and has a hole in it because it was wedged on its side against my other tooth for so long. I was told to have it out by the dentist when I fell pregnant, but didn't. So now it looks like I might have an abcess. So on antibiotics and have to get an OPG scan. And hurry up and get it out. Good times.
My sister's contract went unconditional today, so yay for her.
Anyway, enough rambling from me!

Gorgeous pic K8y! All these good bubs who smiled for Santa! Khirra wasn't fussed, but she was looking around at all the other kids, so didn't smile. Nevermind, the thought that counts I guess, lol.
An as for SS - I'm still waiting for what I ordered to get to me... will call them in a couple of days if it doesn't arrive. :shame: Ordered it like 2 weeks ago, so they've had more than enough time.

Hi everyone,
Congratulations Kotakai!! like everyone else i want to hear the details to , oh and see a pic of the ring!! and great photos, your kids are just gorgeous and Chais seems to always smile for the camera so lucky.
K8y sounds like the day went well, can't wait to see the pics of summer in her dress.
MOS great prize to win i love the maclaren techno thats the one i wanted but its very expensive unless you win it of course! and good luck on the holiday now! my cousin won a week at the sea world nara resort with an unlimited pass to sea world and passes to the other theme parks, she took my sister and i ( so lucky i was 18 nad never been on a plane) it was such a great trip. Not sure how she won though i think it was a put your name down at a supermarket thing.
BB i hope Vasey feels better soon, this teething thing really takes it out of babies i wish it would just pass quickly and painlessly
Babywez i know how hard CC can be and sometimes it still doesn't even work, a lady form my mothers group has a really unsettled baby and she has just been in contact with a group called fourth trimester midwives They have helped her immensley with settling her baby who now sleeps ten times better and is much easier to resettle, i can get the information for you if you would like. She had previously tried the tweedle day stay and the sleep nanny i had but different things work for different people i guess.
I have sent my SS present today so should be there soon i hope, forgot the address so have been back and forwards to the post office today looking a little silly.
Quinn is still asleep from her late afternoon nap today so i think i will wake her soon so she can still have her same routine otherwise it is going to be a very late night.
Started watching Hancock yesterday has anyone seen it? i think its great so far and Charlize Theron is just stunning. Oh and we watched Saw 5 so gross.

Beautiful pic k8y. The way you were talking, I thought she'd be in a Bonds suit or something. She looks so cute in her little cargo's and pink top.

ems, if you need a good oral surgeon, I had a great guy take out my wisdom tooth and he works out of Brissy and the Sunshine Coast. He was also 1/5 of the price of the only other guy on the Sunshine Coast.
I mailed my SS pressie but I'm not saying when! :detective:
And I got a card from the Post Office today saying I have a parcel to collect but it's registered post. Nobody here would send a $10 item registered post, so I'm not sure what it's all about... maybe I've won something else??? The suspense is KILLING me! :detective:
hi all!
I am positive there was a mix up at the hospital when Liam was born, and DH and I brought home a little monkey and Mr and Mrs Monkey have our child! Honestly, he has run rings around me all day today:laughing:
First of all, I put him on the floor after feeding him in the high chair, and went to put his dinner dishes in the sink, and immediately heard a loud wail. Dashed back into the lounge to find Liam had gotten his leg caught UNDER the high chair!
Then after his bath, I put him in the lounge room for a last roll around while I empty the bath, put towels in the wash etc, I come back into the lounge to find Liams got BOTH hands in the zinc and castor oil I use for his bot, and theres cream all over the floor:hair::laughing: Actually, I think the cream has stained the carpet:eek:
He also missed a sleep this afternoon and has been really feral anyway, but hes asleep now, not a bother on him:cloud9:
OK, so gotta go and get this house back under control, and then I might have a beer....or two!
G'night all and take care:flowerz:
 Kyles, you enjoy your beerS!!! :yelclap:
I had a Bundy and Cola on Sat night as I found a bottle in the outside fridge while I was cooking and I crashed early. I had the best night's sleep!
we are having a big clean up tomorrow because next weekend we are having a party (my birthday, plus late house warming) we are having a dress up 80's theme, still have to go out and buy a skirt, will be off to the salvos next week.
Have fun candiee 80s themes r the best!!!
:crying:
I found out 2 wks ago my grandmother who i lived with since i was 5 has lung cancer. Shes gettin the full results tomo about what treatments how bad it is etc so im really not looking forward to that.
I dunno what the right thing for you to do is but i know myself its nice knowing you have someone who is there to talk to but also having your own space to come to terms with it. Maybe like the others said just send her a thinking of you card and leave the ball in her court...but maybe if u hear nothing for say 2 weeks give her a call or send a text to see how shes going :) hope this helps.
Kyles-great news! :fingerscrossed: this is his new routine!!
K8y - glad to hear u enjoyed summers christening - apart from the overtiredness! cant wait to see some pics!!
Hope your toothache is better.
Babywez - im starting to try the cc thing too its so hard i almost end up cryn with him lol good luck with it tho!!
Kotokai - CONGRATULATIONS!!
Well im off to bed - will try get some sleep if the little monkey doesnt wake me up every hour like normal!! Hope all the bubs behave for their mummies tonight!!!

Quick Q:
What are we putting as the from on our SS gift? from secret santa? from santa? from 'our name'???
From "Secret Santa" I assume k8y!! That's what I am putting anyway. Hmmmm!
But do we have to wait til Christmas to open them?? Gaaah!
big congrats to you Kotakai! Are you having an engagement party?
MOS - I don't mind if you bring someone along on Thursday. The more the merrier! I was trying to get my sister to come with her little girl, but she's spending the day with her MIL instead. If her MIL wasn't so nice, I would be most offended!
Not much happening here. We are totally broke (thanks Christmas!!) so I am mostly housebound. Can also thank IKEA for being broke as well. We went on Sunday to get some bookcases and 'storage solutions' for our granny flat. We're still sorting through everything but we are getting there, and it's starting to look a little tidier. I shall post some pics when it's finished and clean!
Can I be reaaaally cheeky and ask if anyone has the Password for the My Child magazine coverstar comp? PM me if you can!
Also.. I THINK everyone should now have their addresses for SS, but please PM me if you don't and I will chase it up. Don't announce it here though or you might give the game away!!
Xxx
Sorry haven't been around much. We still don't have internet in the flat, and the net in the main house is dead AGAIN so I am on the office compy while my sister is on her morning tea break
I asked that one a while ago and someone else suggested something like "from your Bubhub Secret Santa" or similar... I think that's a great idea. We're all going to figure it out anyway, right? I mean, I won't be able to survive without knowing! :p :detective:

Hi Everyone. What a night...worse night I can remember in a LONG time, and it had nothing to do with Nicklas! I went to bed at 8, not feeling good. Woke up at 10:30, 11:30, 12:30 1:30 with vomiting and diarrhea (sorry, TMI), then 2:30 Nick woke up, then I slept on and off until 5:30. DH stayed home from work to look after Nick and I haven't got out of bed except to go loo. My stomach is grumbling but I don't want to eat and puke again. I hate puking m ore than anything. If my pregnancy had involved morning sickness, I wouldn't be so keen on having another one. I think one of the girls in playgroup had this, but not sure. It's either a bug or the left over mexican food I had for lunch yesterday. I don't think I'm ever going to eat Mexican food again :(
I'm a bit nervous b/c I've kept feeding Nick while not feeling good, and hope that whatever made me sick doesn't get into him through the breast milk. anyone know anything about that?
Hope you're all doing well. Back to sleeping for me.

Thats awful i hope you get better soon:hugs:. I would say its a bug because if it was food poisoning you would have definitely seen signs of it in Nick by now. I fed Q when i had a stomache bug and she didn't catch it thank goodness i was just really strict in washing my hands with soap and using the alcohol rub you can get but i think you may be in for a few more rough nights until Nick can boost your supply again, i know how hard it is to keep fluids in when sick and you need so much extra for feeding. Try to have some hydralyte icy poles as much as possible
they don't taste too bad or something with more electrolytes than water anyway and rest as much as you can which it sounds like you are doing thanks to your lovely DH!

:hugs: babywez, I hope you start to feel better soon. As MBQ said, just keep up your fluids. I remember hearing or reading something about your breast milk containing something that PROTECTS bub against what you've got, so the best thing for Nick right now IS your BM. Correct me if I'm wrong though... I do recall SOMETHING like that...
Sam and I went to the shops again this morning. We got some pics printed as we dressed him up in hi Manchester City soccer outfit yesterday and took pics so we sent a few overseas to the family. Also sent them some Santa pics and pics on key-chains, etc. Have done heaps of washing and also been to the post office to post some pressies and collect my Registered Post. Thank you to whoever it was. It was Sam's Secret Santa! :smiliedance: Whoever it was didn't need to do REGISTERED post as that just completely threw me off! It's sitting at the end of the bed at the moment and I'm DYING to open it up but will TRY (no promises!) to hold off until Christmas. The sleuth in me knows it's a book which is awesome as I love books and have only bought a few random ones. I loved books growing up (such a nerd!) and would love to build a collection for Sam. See? I'm really cluey! :detective: That and the fact that I've had a feel and can detect a spine! Oh no, me-thinks the smily police are going to get me again... Yep, got me!

Great detective skills MOS!!! i will laugh though if it isn't a book:laughing:
Also i may have put who it was from on my SS present, its in the card so whoever you are just don't open the card!!!
Its raining here so bad today, got stuck at the shopping centre and just had to make a run for it. Saw a massive crash two cars seemed to have collided pretty much front on 2 fire trucks an ambulance and 2 police cars + lots of flashing lights but it didn't look like anyone was hurt thank goodness i think it was mostly precaution
Hey everyone:wave:
Babywez -:hugs: from a distance! Hope you're feeling really better soon hun. Those bugs are so exhausting. Dr Kyles recommends heaps of fluids and bedrest. I also agree with the others who said your bm should be fine for Nick.
Another quick post from me now - I just went to check on Liam in his cot and hes sound asleep ON HIS TUMMY! Im torn between rolling him over and letting him sleep - Im pretty much letting him sleep as we had a shocker of a night last night with him, Im just checking on him every 2 minutes (literally). In fact, time to check again.........

Hope tonight he sleeps through:fingerscrossed:
I think we should keep it a secret......we will never know :detective: who brought for who! A mystery.....

Thanks for all the :hugs: girls. I am feeling a bit better. But my tummy is still a bit crampy. I slept all day on and off, which probably helped. And have been forcing down water and a bit of powerade. Mum's going to take a leave day from work tomorrow and come look after me and Nick if I'm still not well. Seriously don't know what people w/ no help at all do. :(
STG, I know what you mean bout going out. Mum babysat Nick a couple of weeks ago and we went out with my bestie and her hubby. Its like when you're home looking after bub, you wonder what you're missing out on ... then you go out and realise you're not missing anything!! I'd much rather be home w/ Nick. But, that is great that she slept so well for the sitter.
very quickly, I saw this on another thread and wanted to share. It allows you to make a personalised video from Santa. Miss A loved it.

Hi :ecomcity::ecomcity:s
Quick hello to you all
K8Y can't wait to see the christening photos
babywez Glad you're feeling better MOS was right bf is atually the besthing you can do to stop him getting it as the milk itself kind of line the gut to protect bugs getting through as wel as containing cells that munch up germs, you will also be making antibodies that will be passed onto him as well, so even if he does get it, hopefully it wont be as bad for him.
Things have been flat out here. Have been doing an in home sleep thing with Gabe over the weekend. He's actually sleeping of a day now...but still struggles to let go of an evening.
I haven't managed to do any christmas shopping as yet, apart from having some portraits done for my parents last week...so haven't sent my ss as yet. Was hoping to get something at the "mothers" market last friday that I mentioned for BB last week. But it turned out that it was mostly expensie stuff and stuck up people pushing and shoving...so I didnt stay long. Have a few things in mind though so should something and have it in the mail by Friday or Monday at the latest.
Just quickly before I go to sleep, I have to say k8y, you're looking like one hot mumma! The christening pics are gorgeous. Summer was so beautiful in her gown and you look amazing. You can see the difference of your hard work losing weight in your face.
Put Sam in his cot awake and he put himself to sleep tonight. Normally falls asleep on the boob but was wide awake until after feed. He saw me tidying the room for a while and laughed at me a few times but no whinging or crying! :smiliedance:
Shots tomorrow. See you back again after that!

:wave:Hi Everyone. It's me. Kirilly's mum. Did you guess!
Posted my SS yesterday. But I did put my name on it. In case it gets lost. Have had a terrible experience with Aust post in the last few weeks. I ordered personalised xmas cards of the kids off the internet. They were posted on the 25th November. Still have not arrived. They are supposedly investigating but still haven't started. I'm so annoyed. I try to do something special for xmas and aust post let me down.!
Kotakai - congratulations on your engagemant. You are having a wonderful year.
K8y - the christening photos are amazing. You are one hot mamma. I can't find any beautiful dresses for Michael's christening as my boobs now hang!
Hey all. Charli is 6 months today.
:crying: stay a baby forever
She has perfected crawling. She can actually go forward without stacking it too often now.
I agree that the pics are very nice indeed :)
And re. missing out I guess everyone has a always greener moment. It was good to go out but Im definately not in a hurry to do it again. By the morning I was missing her soo much eventhough she wouldnt have missed me being asleep the whole time
Hi All! Up to about 90% better now, but still a bit achy and light headed. Hard to eat much more than toast, worried I'll puke it all back up. Hopefully Nicklas will be an easy baby today so I can rest a little bit. He just slept for 2 1/2 hours so I got a bit of a rest. Mum works about 5 minutes from here and is "on call"!
K8Y the christening pictures are great! I saw the pics your mum posted, too, the professsional ones. They are beautiful too!
I keep checking my bank account, waiting on the $1000 bonus to go in. I think we're just going to save it, but we might take $100 each and buy something we want. Not that $100 gets you much anymore. But they want us to spend it and keep people employed! :) Any excuse to go shopping. Actually, there's plenty of bills it can pay for :( How boring.
thanks for the lovely comments ladies :)
I still think I looked rather chunky :( but I do have another 10kg to go to get back to pre-preg weight so was up and on the tready this morning, starting today am getting back into WW:smiliedance:
Summer and DP both looked lovely though :cloud9:
babywez sounds like your on the road to recovery :hugs: I rang centrelink yesterday to register for the CC rebate and the lady voluntarily told me our $1k was going in today. Haven't checked yet though, DP and I are putting it aside for a holiday up to Sunshine Beach in Feb.
stg I was your age when I got over the party scene - it doesn't change  good for you to have a break though. Hope you can catch up on the lost sleep!
Yay for Gabriel and Sam on the awesome sleeping!!!
Hi Daisy Boo!!! Great name change! any reference to anything particular??
My boobs aren't so great either. Just had help with a great underwire bra and a strapless dress that was also fitted around the boobs so double help with keeping them up there LOL though after 3 kids which is what I want I AM GETTING A BOOB JOB!!!!! DP says I can too hee hee
We're off to the dietician this afternoon to sort this cows milk protein intolerance out once and for all. DP wants me to start weaning Summer. It would be easier as she is in CC in Jan for 2 days/week. Has anyone else weaned yet? or planning on doing so for CC reasons? I feel guilty at the thought now. I think DP also wants the opportunity to be able to feed her too and it's too hard to express these days with no spare milk due to her now waking in the night....
k8y, I know what you mean about no spare milk. Best of luck, I wouldn't know where to start.
Hi Daisy Boo! Great name. I hope you get your Chrissy cards sorted in time...
Hey all. Charli is 6 months today.
:crying: stay a baby forever
Happy6 month birthday Charli! It's Sam's today too, they share the same birthday.
babwez, good to hear you're on the road to recovery. I hope the other 10% happens for you soon.
Has anyone tried that Helga's Pumpkin & 5 seed bread? Mmmmmm YUMMO!!! I'm about to have my second helping of toast for lunch as it's soooooo good!
We went to the Dr's this morning. Sam would have been a little angel had the appointment not started until half an hour after it was supposed to. :hair: I had him booked in at 10a, so he could have his nap afterwards but we didn't get in there until 10:30 by which time he was well past his nap time and very grumpy. He's put on good weight once again, is 7.1kilos and 67cm long. He's growing well and the Dr said I am doing wonderfully with the solids and taking his advice and going slowly with them as he told me to. He did yet another rant about how soooo many people don't bother. He told me he had a couple in last week with a baby with lesions so he asked what the baby had newly eaten and they rattled off about 20 things... blah blah. Anyway, I got a virtual gold star I think! Then the good mummy that I am took Sam to the local baby shop rather than straight home! :o
I got him a sleeping bag. He finally slept un-swaddled last night and he was fine. I think he even liked it as he was getting free of it swaddle to play with his feet - so with the sleeping bag there was no way he was getting to them! So I got him a summer weight one as his little legs were sticking this morning after being in a winter weight one. So now it's washing... along with his sheets as he did the smallest vomit on them during the night but after a dinner of carrots and pumpkin... need I say more? It would be OK if the sheets were orange to start with!
So how is everyone else's day today? I might check my bank account for that money shortly. Rudd's paying for our week away at the end of this month. ;)
I wonder if they're doing the payments alphabetically? I hope not! I'm a "W" :(
:smiliedance: I GOT IT! I GOT IT! I GOT IT! I GOT IT! I GOT IT! I GOT IT! I GOT IT! I GOT IT! I GOT IT! Babywez, I'm an "H"... I hope you get yours soon! :fingerscrossed:

Just a very quick check in girls
C38 - yay for Mr G's day sleeps - hopefully the nights kick in too. If they do, tell me what you did
K8y - photos are gorgeous. Summer is just a doll!
And Sam's going great guns with his growth MOS  lol, DD is still such a midget. 6 1/2months and still in 000's
Stg - Happy half birthday for Charli  hehe.
The $1k goes in when you recieve you usual fortnightly FTB.... unless you get it as a lump sum for tax, which we do. But I phoned yesterday and the lady said 'because we've stayed current with Centrelink' we get paid on the 15th. No idea what she meant by that, but yay I get spending money
Anyway, going to get some cooking and cleaning done while DD is sleeping (woohoo for swimming and the exhaustion that follows :p)

I would give almost anything to be a size 12, let alone a size 10! Well done! Hope WW goes well tonight.
The good news about being sick is that I lost 1.6 kgs. Hopefully it stays off when I can finally stomach some food again.
Just saw an ad for A Current Affair tonight. They're having the woman on whose husband and 2 sons drowned last month...break out the tissue box if you plan to watch that one!

babywez - Glad you are feeling better.
I saw that advertised too and said to my OH there's no way I can watch it. I watched that "Waiting Room" last week and cried practically the whole way thru it so can't watch that again either.
Well done MOS on Sams weight gain and your solid training!
Going to take DD to get weighed tomorrow - did you see the little bub on the Today show this morning that ABC Childcare said was obese!! My DD has rolls of fat on her legs but I wouldn't say she's overweight!
Just healthy. She now has cereal in the morning and I'm increasing her arvo feed today fron 1 big icecub size to 2 - I'm sure she'll eat forever if I gave her the chance. I need to ask the CHN tomorrow when I start to reduce her milk - at the mo I think DD would go nuts if I reduced it. She has 240ml 4 times a day - which was calculated according to her weight a while ago. I have reduced it by 15ml a feed since she started solids. I'm thinkin I should probably wait until she's on 3 meals ... but I don't know...:confused:
I've elected to get my FTB payments at the end of the year when I do my tax as it's going to be a piddly amount - surely they'll pay me my $1000 now tho as the idea is they want you to spend it now too (except Mr credit card is getting mine!) I was saying to my OH last night I hope they don't do it alphabetically cos I'm R (see another reason to get married then I'd be a F):D
I go back to work on Monday:no:for 2 days a week - but at least I get my 2nd month maternity pay paid into my account before Christmas:yelclap:I'm really not lookiing forward to going but am looking forward to having some extra cash as things have been so tight on one wage. DD is going to be looked after by her daddy so at least I haven't got any heartache there:D

Well that's one channel to steer clear of tonight then!
I asked the Dr this morning when I start to drop a breast feed or something. He said not to. So I said that he fell asleep on the boob during lunch yesterday so didn't get his solids until mid arvo. He said to offer solids FIRST, otherwise he won't want a bar of them after breast milk. I said he always wants his solids after breast milk... except yesterday... I thought it was the other way around. I thought it was important to offer breast FIRST as that's still the best thing for them. Oh boy I can't stand conflicting advice! :banghead:
BB good luck with WW tonight. And congrats on the size 12 jeans. What a waste of money though, since you're obviously powering through this weight loss business and will soon be into that size 10 you're after!
Best get going. Sam's being grumpy and need to cook dinner.
Meet still on for tomorrow morning. My hubber friend is coming too as I've pushed our Thurs morning walk forward to we're walking and then intead of having coffee together we're having coffee with you guys! I'm looking forward to it. I just hope Sam's OK since he had his shots this morning. :fingerscrossed:

Dont you hate it when you work the bubs schedule around an appointment all nice and perfect, then they mess it up completely by making you wait.
And yes I noticed it was sam's b/d too :) I thought I actually said something re. happy half birth day to him ?? Must of just been thinking it

I'm getting my hair done at 9am, which will prob take around an hour and a half, so I prob wouldn't get there till about 11-11.30, will you all still be there?
Thanks.

Yes, please do and if you can, please also ask if we're supposed to be dropping a feed or something... I'm sooooo confused about it all. Now I know what you've been confused about. I know you've been posting about it a fair bit.
Hey, I'll send out the details of FB but I think we should have a contingency plan for in case it rains tomorrow. I've got an idea. It's close to where we plan to meet so can still park easily. See you then!!!

Summer gobbled her farex today :yelclap: am glad I held off! Gave it to her before a booby feed as tried yesterday after a booby feed and she just wasn't interested and it made her whingy.
The dietician said to start her on a small amount of normal formula before a booby feed for a few days and we'll see how her body goes with it. If particular symptoms arise that she advised me of, am to switch to soy formula and at dairy introduction time, to start trialling her on cheddar cheeses and warmed cows milk. Hope it goes okay.
My money from krudd was there today! I bought DP a lovely pair of boardshorts for xmas from city beach. Had no idea what to get him but was in there today buying my nephew a gift card for his birthday and saw them and they caught my eye, they're lovely. So that's him done, they were very $$$ ($90 to be in fact but very good quality and will last years :o).
BB CONGRATS GIRL!!! Thats awesome. I've lost another .5kg so all up for me I have lost 9.1kg and still want to lose another 10kg, but only need 7kg to get back to pre-preg weight.
Congrats on the weight loss k8y! :smiliedance: Well done! :yelclap:
hi all,
good on you all for the weight loss, mine is still pidlly amounts but now up to 2kg total.
sorry can't catch up on all the personals ....
going well just been busy ...how did we all ever work??
I give Pip farex of a morning an hour after her feed ( the advice I got was milk first then solids) and then some veges in the afternoon (2-3 ice cubes, but she doesn't eat it all) I thought we didn't swap to solids first till at least 9 months????
anyway can't talk much as the battery is dying. about tomorrow DH is on call for work so if he hasn't been called in, I probably won't stick around for too long.....however if he does I am happy to hang around as otherwise I am just at home withthe in laws!!!!
see you tomorrow.
BTW _ i too put my name on SS to ensure it didn't go missing!

MOS - I was told to give them their milk first to make sure they get all the nutrients, until they are on 3 meals a day...
Will ask the CHN tomorrow - tho to be honest I don't have much faith in her...
This mothering lark is difficult - you just get your head around bottle or boob and then they go and introduce solids!!!:rolleyes:

Lunch - 1-2 slices of toast with baked beans and grated cheese, fresh fruit pieces, yoghurt and water to drink
Dinner - meat and at least 2 vegies, custard and fruit
Snacks - milk/water to drink, little kids crackers (use proper littlies ones as they're low in salt), cheese, fresh fruit, soft cooked vegies.
Seems like a lot of food to me but I guess it's hard to picture when you have a bub thats still exclusively BF lol plus one of my friends with a toddler and 1 yr old says they eat so much/constantly (though always healthily).
Thanks:goodvibes:

MOS - I was told to give them their milk first to make sure they get all the nutrients, until they are on 3 meals a day...
Will ask the CHN tomorrow - tho to be honest I don't have much faith in her...
This mothering lark is difficult - you just get your head around bottle or boob and then they go and introduce solids!!!:rolleyes:

hi all,
good on you all for the weight loss, mine is still pidlly amounts but now up to 2kg total.
sorry can't catch up on all the personals ....
going well just been busy ...how did we all ever work??
:yelclap:Well done! 2kilos is a great :goodvibes:
I put love from SS & then just my address, but there is only two of us in Hobart so I don't think it will be hard to work out:laughing:

I found if I tried to give Nicklas solids after a BF that he had no interest, so he gets them before the milk now, and still spends as much time on the boob as he did before. He typically eats about half a jar of solids at lunch and then the other half at dinner. We have to go get his 6 month shots in a couple of weeks, so I'll ask our Dr for her opinion then too and we'll see just how many different opinions we can come up with between all our drs! How ridiculous. Its like being in the hospital again and having 12 different midwives with 12 different opinions!
Nicklas slept from 8 - 4 last night. It was lovely. Except that I was wide awake at 4 b/c I went to bed at 8:30! Then I finally went back to sleep, but by then, you might as well stay awake at 4 b/c I felt worse when I woke up later than I did at 4. Oh well, DH took care of Nicklas until 7 so I slept on and off until his feed time. I just had some tea and cereal...might actually be able to eat normal meals today. Am feeling much better.
Going to pick up Nicklas' photos today. :yelclap: After how much we're spending on photos from 2 different places, and how much we'll spend on frames to frame all these things, the next kid will have to be a few years away so we get our moneys worth of these hanging on the walls!
hi girls:wave:
havent been on since stgs party on sat had a bit of reading to catch up now cant remember any:laughing:
we doing well last few nights dylan has only been getting up once for a feed :yelclap: not quite sleeping through lol but for him its really good he normally up all night
must get him weighed soon i think he probably pushing 9 kgs was over 8kgs last time and that was maybe 8 weeks ago?
dylan still refusing to wean, so i guess i just have to bf a bit longer. i keep trying him but im not gonna just cut him off as everyone(not on bubhub) keeps suggesting to me. i CAN feed him i just would LIKE to wean, but if he isnt ready we will just keep going till he is.
i havent got my ruddy money yet:hissy:, wish it would hurry up, i have bills to pay. im getting 4k:D so i guess its worth the wait
ummmm really cant remember what anyone said now
oh congrats k8y, bb, and oconcky i think? on the awesome weight loss!!
Oh my GOSH SMO3 - $4k???! Wow, I KNEW I should have had more kids!:laughing:
Well can't type long as must be off to meet Lambkin at the shops and walk with her down to the place we're meeting. We were meeting in a park but the weather's cr@ppy here so we've been texting all morning sorting out the alternative.
I just tried to feed Sam brekky for the first time. He spat most of it back at me but I kept on trying and he eventually ate a fair bit. Am of now to brush teeth and put a load of washing in the dryer before I go.
Oh and he literally grumbled ALL NIGHT. Didn't really wake up but tossed and turned making growling noises. SO ANNOYING!!!
Chat later!
Morning all
Sorry I have been MIA, daily life has been very busy. Have been trying to catch up, but as usual have forgotten all my personals.
well what have or havent I told you...
Miss C has cut her two bottom teeth, with no teething symptoms all all, we are so lucky. I only knew the first one had come through when she chomped on my finger, it hurt!
She is now mobile, not crawling but doing a "caterpiller" crawl on her back. She pushes her bottom up with her feet and slides along. She thinks she is terribly clever, but so far Ive kept her on a large mat in the loungeroom, the whole house is tiles, so she will get a rude shock if she bonks her head on the tiles.
She also did a full day at CC on Tuesday and had a good day thank goodness.
All you girls getting the $1000 Im so jealous, we dont qualify. P!sses me off as between DH and I we have been paying taxes for over 40 years. Apparently we earn too much, but by the time we pay the mortgage, food and bills there is very little left, like any household.
Im so happy for you girls that get the money, I hope you enjoy spending it!
Another annoying thing, mum retired in Dec last year, self funded retiree, but qualified in October for a p!ssy part pension (dont get me wrong, she appreciates any help), anyway her pension qualify date was 3 days after the date specified for the cut off, so she missed out on the $1400 for pensioners.
Very hot and sticky here today, might have to put on the air con.
Im working this morning so I can have tommorrow am off with mum to visist Centrelink, as they have stuffed up all her info re assets and the rental income from her townhouse in Sydney.
Meant to add, babywez you sound like your on the mend, you sounded terribly sick.
MOS, Miss C has been rather grissly on some days, Im sure its her teeth, as when I put Bonjela on the grissling certainly lessens.

DP says I can too hee hee
....
Daisy is my dogs name. I tried to get MiKi which is Michael and Kirilly but it was already taken. So Daisy won out in the end.
Apparently but don't quote me on it a g/f of mine said that you can get a medicare refund for a boob job after you have had kids. My g/f had hers done and she qualified because she had 2 kids....Personally I would be too scared.
Michael got his present yesterday so thankyou so much to his secret santa. Haven't opened it yet.
Regarding my aust post drama. The lady sent me another batch of cards this time by courier. Well both lots arrived yesterday. Would you believe it? So now I have 2 lots and she told me to keep them both!
MOS- I keep meaning to ask you can I have the recipe for your lemon cake. Pretty pls?
Of to my Xmas party. We are going lawn bowling but the weather doesn't look too good.
Yes, please do and if you can, please also ask if we're supposed to be dropping a feed or something... I'm sooooo confused about it all. Now I know what you've been confused about. I know you've been posting about it a fair bit.
[quote]
Ok well as you guys may remember my doc isnt overly helpful especially when it came to the reflux and weaning etc.
But she just said before 6 months offer solids AFTER, and after 6 months you should be offering BEFORE.
I said she is only 2 meals a day as she disinterested otherwise. She said thats because she is filling up on milk. And BM or formula just doesnt give them what they need.
She didnt say anything on decreasing milk but Id say just demand feed as needed? Solids then a feed to wash it down type thing. I said would she drink less BM then and she said no, they would still drink what they need.
So Im going to try and give her 3 meals a day then how I work BF into it I dont know.. Probably feed after soids then at bed time... not sure she may want to drink between meals?
At the moment she has a couple spoon fuls of farex and fruit at breakfast, then for dinner usually a 3 vegie mix. Then if she wants lunch (not often) I mash a banana or something.
Im not sureM :S
Im also wanting to wean her or start.. Maybe this is a good time to start since she isnt relying on BM as much and yeah..
I
Thinking up meals is hard Im not sure when to introduce meat and [asta either. Im just trying to mash her foods rather than puree now.

I reckon I could get my boobs done on the governement since they are killing my back. Medically I need it done to save my back.
DH said I could get my boobs done after we're done having kids (so after the next one, most likely). I read an article about a woman who went and got her's done in Thailand. She has a company now that helps ppl go over there and get plastic surgery. Its half the price of what it would be here in Australia, and supposedly quite reputable. Will look into it more when the time comes. But if some of it here was refunded by medicare, I would consider doing it here. I want them done, mostly because one is half a cup bigger than the other. I don't want them bigger, just even and a bit lifted.

Hi there.
Love the name daisy boo - I'm named after my dog too - Bella and we call her Bellaleggos after the pasta sauce:laughing:
Well we went and got DD weighed today and spoke to the CHN. DD is 8kg and 66cm long and so in the 90th percentile:eek:
CHN didn't seem too concerned but when I mentioned that perhaps I should start reducing her milk she agreed..
I really don't think she knows what she's talking about - she said read the back of the formula tin as it should tell you what to reduce it to?? wouldn't you think she'd know..
She also said to wait till 8 months before you give food before milk.
I figured I'll carry on doing what I think as there's so much conflicting advice out there. I've already reduced DDs milk by 20ml a feed so now she has 220ml 4 times a day and I hope by next week to reduce it to 200ml.
I think I'm a sponge type of person - I take on board everything people say and what the books say and then make my own decision. DD doesn't look over weight but she does have really chubby legs (which I love):D

Hey ladies
Far out, it's hot again.
Re: the amount of feeds, the CHN I went to was really stressing that I needed to give Kiz 4 feeds a day of at least 180ml, otherwise 'she is snacking'. I've got her down to 4 bottles during the day, and one at night if she wants it. I'm not reducing it lower than that 5 though because she obviously wants/needs it. I'd say BM is different though, seeing it metabolises faster.
And the boob job. I'd LOVE one. Especially now. But after having surgery done in August, I'm not really keen on that sort of recovery again, and feeling like that. So I'm too much of a chicken in the end. Poor DP will just have to put up with my boobs hanging around my knees
And well done girls on the weight loss :yelclap: BB congrats on the size 12 :smiliedance: Must feel amazing! I'd love to get back into size 10...try after the next bub maybe  Size 12 isn't too bad for now.
Just put some piccies up on photobucket for the christmas card I've done up and the photos I took for the Calendar I did for Chrissy presents (BigW). So you guys are welcome to a look!
Speaking of which, BB your boys are beautiful :goodvibes: Casey's such a little trooper - brave face while he was in hospital, poor man!

Casey had his 6 month checkup today~8.7kilos:p
Big bubba:D
Charlotte is 68cm and 6.5kg.
Doc was happy though she has gained weight since last time and she is healthy.
Im still confused about these feeds.
Doc says she will still eat same amount if I give solids first. But How much solids do I give her now?
Giving solids after milk, I just fed her til full up.
And should I give milk straight after solids?
Wait a bit?
Im just confused how to encorporate it into it.
Oh boy it is all soooo confusing, isn't it? I am with Bella. I think I'm going to do as I feel, as long as he's getting 3 meals a day and enough BM, then there shouldn't be a problem. I'll continue to do the solids about an hour after a booby feed, which turns out to be around 10am, 1pm and 6pm.
So it'll look like this:
5am Breast feed
9am Breast feed
10am solids
Nap
12:30 Breast feed
1:30 Solids
Nap
5:30 Breast Feed
6:30 Solids
Tummy time, Bath time, massage, then bed by 8pm.
I've always tried to let Sam fall into his own routine and this is what has worked for us so far.
Well lambkin, kotakai and oconky, I had a really nice time today. Thank you for meeting up and I'm glad you made it in the end kotakai.
Well our whole house is off at the local church and I've stayed back as it just hit at Sam's feed time and not worth sitting in a church where I can't understand what they're saying anyway with him screaming for boobie - LAST place I'd want to flop them out! :D It's a mass for someone who's died OS (nobody we've ever met, but the family has gone to pay their respects none-the-less).
Sam's just zonked out after booby which was a little late today so I might run and do DH's lunch and do as much of the house cleaning as I can before he wakes up. His late arvo naps don't generally last very long.
And gorgeous pics BB!

stg did you see my post about the solids guide? it gave an idea of how much solids and milk at her age and a potential daily guide to follow. It might help??? If not, then I have no clue, I'm only just starting her on farex now.
great pics BB, love the tiger face on Jacob, so cute!!! what a great idea to have a face painter to a party!
Mum and I took Summer swimming in a different pool today out in the full sun. I lathered her in sunscreen and her matching swimmer hat (that came with her swimmers so made of swim material) and she was squirming and kicking and squealing on mums lap while I put the sunscreen on as she couldn't wait to get in the water, and as I held her tummy she paddled her arms and kicked her legs. I was so proud, clever girl loves the water :cloud9:

Hi everyone:wave: Looks like all the babies are getting their 6 month check ups! We had ours on Tuesday and Q is almost the same as Charlotte stg, she is 68 cm ( just jumped from the 75ht to the 90th percentile) and 6.9 kilos. She hasn't put on much weight in the last 6 weeks but the CHN saw how much she moves around and said she is clearly an active baby so just to start feeding her a bit more solids( which we have just re started) I think your schedule re solids looks good MOS, it really is so confusing i agree. I think that from other routines i have seen the baby wakes up has milk, then after nap it has breakfast then a morning snack of milk then lunch then an afternoon snack of milk then dinner then milk before bed and during the night if need be. We have just satrted having two feeds and i am finding it doesn't matter if its before or after milk she is always still hungry! little guts! but then i guess she hardly ever stays still so needs the food for energy! She has just started crawling, backwards mostly, and can get anywhere in the lounge especially to where the speaker wires are:hair:
Ok enough about us! The photos are great, Ems you're christmas card is so cute! Everyone will love it.
K8y like its been said before the christening photos are great and you look wonderful. i could never were a strapless dress so jealous!
Babywez glad you are feeling better.
Also with the talk of boob jobs i have heard about getting it covered on medicare with just going to your gp and complaining of a back ache because of it, then half is covered due to medical reasons. I have also made DP swear to let me have one when we are done with kids he did freak out a little and say i can't get them too small but when i explained i would settle for a D cup he calmed down:laughing:
And we got our SS present today!! i feel bad for who i sent mine to because it really wasn't that secret!! woops i will do better next year!
Also a question for those who have walkers, would you recommend the one you have? i am going to look for one after christmas but just want ideas, C and L's mummy i saw you had the steelcraft one and Q definitely loved sitting in that! i wouldd like one with lots of activities for her to do just because she is so active i never have time to get anything done and would like her to be in one place for a few minutes!

They are just adorable!!! i love the outfit and she is so strong standing up!
hey all,
it was good catching up today, shame I parked in the 2 hours spot....us mums can talk!!
speaking of 6month checks, Pip is not getting hers until 27/1...the chn just said it is a 6-8 months check so leave it until then and my gp doesn't have the facilities to weigh in her new centre ( she was forced to move ) so have no idea what Pip weighs and I don't have anymore conflicting advice for you all:laughing: I might actually try and ring again.
I am only giving 2 meals at the moment and still after milk about an hour, she is not eating it all, but is guzzling her bottles gets 4 by 200ml a day, but she is never overly grumbly for a feed?? I might up her night bottle though as she is waking up earlier lately- though again not grumbly for food straight away???
tried some banana this morning as it was the first thing she spat back out...very funny
BTW girls the pram I was talking about today was the steelcraft verve, little 3 wheeler, not the lightest but heaps lighter than my current one apparently normally $300 but down to $150, it is only from 6 months, but figured I'd still use it next time...got no money though....we don't get the $1k either sk6....and you are right, we still don't have much money left over after all the expenses.
kotakai how did your appt today go???
well better go dinner is nearly ready, Pip is still asleep bizarrely.
BTW all the piccys are good Casey does look happy for a bub in hospy and Kiz is verycute in that dress.
Very gorgeous calendar pics ems! :yelclap: It's sucha great idea. I wish I was more organised, but maybe next year...
Forgot to say thank you k8y for the feeding info. It has made me realise that everyone is going to give us different advice but what I was doing was close enough to your info that I am just going to stick with it. It's what works for us, so why not, right?
Re the boob jobs, I have two friends (twins)that complained about their backs and got most covered by Medicare, so yes, you're right. They do have to be big and I think you need to go on a few occasions complaining about it or something... My friend showed me hers afterwards and she had a reduction, so they had to move the nipple. It had tiny little stitches all around it - very wierd looking. A little gross too, but when you think of it, if you're taking some of it away, you're going to have to move the nipple, right? Gross anyway!
Off to make some fresh juice now.

I was giving her solids 1/2 hour after feed, but ill try and go 1 hour after feed so she is a little bit hungrier

Poor Casey, teething tonight....very rosy cheeks & grizzly gave him some panadol....:(hes asleep now didn't drink all his bottle so will give him the rest before I go to bed.
Casey's day routine(Im not strict though)
This also depends on what time he wakes,so times vary.
6/7am~Bottle
8/8.30am Breakfast
Sleep either the car or cot, thats usually about 9am(usually a shorter sleep)
10/11am~Bottle
Sometimes short catnap in the car
Lunch~ 12/12.30pm
Sleep~ 1/2pm either car/cot(if in cot will sleep a couple of hours)
Afternoon Bottle
5.30/6pm~Dinner time
7.30/8pm~Bath
Bottle
Sleep(hopefully right through!)
So thats 4bottles I have put down but some days it can be more as he will take less in each bottle.
CHN said today 4 bottles of 250ml...there is no way he would take all of that in one sitting...sometimes 200ml is a struggle.
She said he should be on 1000ml per day,he doesn't have that much maybe around 800/900ml,guess it depends. But hes putting on great weight so im not worried & plus hes eating more solids now.
I too said I never know if hes had enough as he doesn't really turn his head away, but if hes grizzly I can tell hes not in the mood for eating so I stop.
Jacob didn't weigh 8.7kgs till he was 8months............I love them chunky :p

Well Casey slept through again...:yelclap:.....champ!
I think he likes not being wrapped!
Off to see Santa this arvo :xmas:
Men sk6 :hugs: they couldn't walk a mile in our shoes
BB best of luck with Santa!
Yay for Casey sleeping through! Summer has been unwrapped for a while now and loving it! She woke up last night around 3am and I woke up thinking I best get up, next thing I know my body clock is waking me up at 5.15am and she's asleep lol
Today, chiro in morning. Dentist in afternoon
Chiro sounds alright K8Y...dentist not so much!
I wasn't going to say anything b/c I don't want to jinx it. Actually...I might still not say anything. Does anyone use the Johnson and Johnson bed time bath and lotion of an evening on bubs? It might be magical. That's all I'll say.
I am on seek.com.au in another window, looking for PT jobs, and I can't believe how many "I make $20k a month working from home, why don't you?" and "Earn CEO income from home" ads there are. Surely these are scams. I wish seek.com.au would be more ... responsible? Picky? When allowing people to publish ads. Its so hard to pick through all the BS. I am getting really discouraged. I haven't worked in over a year, and when I did it was in the States. When I applied for jobs when we first moved here, I never even got interviews. I barely even got rejections! I am starting to feel sick to my stomach about several things.

sk6 - big :hugs: - make sure you do get it off your chest even if it's to us here and not your OH. They don't understand and my OH is going to get a shock on Monday and Tuesday when he has to look after DD all day!
Babywez - I so feel for you. When I first arrived here from the UK I had to fight for a job and ended up taking a crappy underpaid one. But I proved myself and now 5 years later earn over double and have had 2 promotions. You need to persevere and sell yourself (I know it's easier said than done!)
I go back to work on Monday for 2 days a week but not sure how long for as I work for the company that is axing 14,000 jobs worldwide (you've probably seen on the news who it is). A bit disappointed as I'll never get a job earning the same money for 2 days work - I'll probably have to work a week somewhere else! Let's hope they pay some nice redundancy:fingerscrossed:
Our routine goes like this;
6.30ish Milk
7.30ish Breakfast (would like to make this later but it's hit and miss how long she goes back to sleep for - sometimes she can go from 8-10 and then its almost time for her next bottle.)
8ish Nap - Can be 40 mins or 2 hours
10.30ish Bottle
Nap
2.30ish Bottle
3ish Food
Nap
6ish Bath
6.30ish Bottle
7.30 Bed
Only 2 meals so far as she's not quite 6 months yet so am taking things slowly.
Have decided to try and move her 3pm feed up to lunch time. And then give her some water to drink too, then I'll be able to introduce an evening feed.

Ems - forget to say how gorgeous the Christmas card is. I did one on snapfish of DD - it saves writing them which I hate doing!:xmastree:
Hi!
I'm new to the forum, thought that instead of stalking I'd jump right in and say G'day!
I'm Emma, I have a beautiful 6 month old DD Marli Rose (03/06/08).
Hope you don't mind a newbie round here????
babywez :hugs: maybe it's time to start a bit of BS on your resume?! Fudge a little work...? Is there anything you've done over here that might be close to work? Like I used to help out my SIL by doing her BAS so I put on my resume that I did her book keeping. Doesn't matter that it was for nothing but LOVE! I hope something comes your way soon. And yes, I know all of those adds ARE BS!
sk6, vent away. I'm sorry your DH is being an ar$e at the moment. They're all like that at times... sooooo inconsiderate. I hope you gave him a swft kick up the back side! :D
Enjoy your dentist appointment today k8y. Wohoooo!
Today I'm cleaning but almost done. The DIL just turned the TV on full ball and couldn't find the volume control so woke Sam up. I dumped him on him then!!! :D And later we're off to lunch with a friend. Tomorrow morning I'm getting my hair done - YAY finally!
Well better get Sam ready, make bed, dump him on the IL's and vacuum and mop then get myself ready..... not too much really!

Which city are you in?

Welcome oipic
I too am getting my hair done tomorrow down the coast with my friend but Summer still won't take a bottle :hissy: so have to drag her along. There goes my day off

Lol thanks, I'm in Yamba NSW actually, yep I'm lucky I know :)
Welcome Emma! Don't let MOS fool you, she's as guilty as K8Y. Actually, its been a lot slower around here lately, so you've picked a good time to say hello!
:fingerscrossed: for your job Bella. I have been doing some work for the co my mum works for. Mum is acct payable manager and gives me stuff to do at home. I also did some acct rec. stuff when I was pregnant (but don't think I could handle that full time!). So I have some references. I'm looking in to taking a medical receptionist training course when we get back from the states. There usually seems to be quite a few of those jobs advertised. Just need to get through the next 6 months and the trip to the states. Then Nick will be about the age we were talking about putting him in day care a couple days a week anyway.
MOS I have thought about the resume embellishments, just makes me so nervous. I mean, I was a pretty smart cookie pre-pregnancy and childbirth  But I worry now that I'm not going to be able to figure out how to do things. Talk about mummy brain. The hardest part is that I had such a good paying job in the States. I miss my paycheck :hissy: But I would give it up all over again for Nicklas.

Welcome oipic - I hope you manage to get a word in with MOS and K8y around:laughing::laughing:
Babywez - I know where you're coming from worrying about your brain - I am so worried about Monday - I was a team leader so know people will be expecting great things from me. I'm going back to a different role tho so hopefully I can get away with being a bit dozey for a while. ;)I keep worrying about it and then reminding myself it's only 2 days!
There are always loads of medical receptionist jobs in the paper over here so it sounds like a good move.
Had my haircut on Weds and I feel like a new woman - well about 10kg lighter anyway and no longer resemble a hairy mammoth:D
Well have a good day all - I'm off up to Kings Park for a picnic with work - going to try and reaquaint myself b4 Monday - I'm sure DD will take all the attention off me today:yelclap:

I haven't been on for a while so have only caught up on alittle of the chatter. I've been up at my sisters helping her with her son as she is due to have her second bub next tuesday. I cant wait, but so glad it's not me doing the labour!
Thank you so much to my secret santa, it was so thoughtful of you to buy for Chaise aswell. I certainly didn't expect it so a big big thank you! We will wait till xmas day to open.
Mybabyq- I love our walker, Lara is getting heaps of use out of it. I can safely leave her in it while i am cooking dinner etc and Chaise can't get her out or jump on her.
I stopped lara's solids for a bit coz she was just not interested but tried her again this week and she was really into it so will go and stock up on tins again. I have no idea what she weighs and don't have a health nurse appt till she is 8 months. I know she is doing fine tho, sleeping through most nights again so i'm so happy with that.
Chaise's TT is going fantastic, she has still only wet the bed twice in 5 weeks and is now telling me everytime she needs to go. I'm so proud of her, my big girl. Next will be to get rid of her night time dummy.
Congrats on all the weight loss girls, you must be feeling fantastic.
Im off to do the last of my xmas shopping, it seems never ending. I thought i was finished but then you remember someone else u should buy for and then if you buy for them u have to buy for... you know how it goes. Have a great day everyone.
Will try and keep up with

Bed time bath and lotion Ive been using since Charli was a new born. Id get anxious if she had to go to bed without it lol but I love it. I see you can get it in a powder too which I havent tried.
I want part time work but NO idea where to start. I dont even have a resume anymore.
I have a cert 3 in business admin from a traineeship and 1 1/2 years experience in government. (main roads office) Thats about it.
Happy Half Birthday Pip!!! :smiliedance: Wow, your SS bought for both girls C&L'sMummy? How special. I wish I'd thought of that... :(

K8Y your christening pics are lovely. You did such a good job. If I ever get married I will hire you to sort all the fiddly bits:yes:.
How was the orange version of the lemon cake?? My tree wasnt as full as I thought, and I need to make something for a BBQ on Sunday. I have a few oranges. Though will probably end up doing something with a bag of aples that are starting to go soft...thinking with filo pastery...maybe mini apple strudels type thingies...
I brought a printer last weekend (thanks ruddy) so am going to play round with my photos and finaly do my chrissie cards. Most years I stuff around so long they end up being New Years cards:o
Thanks for all the postings of how you work your day with feeds etc. G's till only having one lot of solids of an evening and I find it hard even fitting that in... espescially now hes sleeping more during the day.. He's only just 5 months this week so Im in no hurray.
Babywez the sleep program was basically the same as them all...Baby whisperers etc. basically involved just putting him to bed and letting him figure it out with support... There was also a big parenting componant looking at your own stress and at how you visualise you child and in getting you to see them as an individual and respecting that. I found it all very emotionally draining and am still getting my head around it all.
I amstill a little unconfortable about it when he cres , but then he was crying before even with all the rocking, bouncing patting etc
oh dear, they have the funeral of the marathon runner who died on the news,... Our family friend who is 27 had her breast off yesterday and my workmate is having hers off next week... All too sad. Hopefully my friends will do ok:goodvibes::goodvibes:
Ops he's awake.. where did that hour and a half go????:D
bloody emoticon police!!!
That's awul about your friends C38. I hope they recover well and everything goes smoothly, etc. My bestie's mum is getting her cancer removed from her breast on the 17th of this month. Today is also a funeral for a friend of DH's father as he died the other day and another friend of his was told yesterday his mum only has a few days to live. The apparently opened her up to operate but discovered there's nothing they could do for her. She also has cancer. What is going on with the world? There is sooooo much bad stuff going on at the moment. Very sad.
I'm almost about to leave for lunch (I will only have coffee) with a friend but Sam's just woken up next to me and he's grunting... Do everyone else's bubs grunt and make it totally obvious now when sh!tting?! Sam likes his high chair so often does it straight after food while we're all still eating. His eyes get watery, face red and he grunts until it's over... still half smiling through it too. He's doing that now. So better leave some extra nappy change time before I get going.
Well the house is clean. The MIL thanked me which is nice and she even noticed I dusted everything last night while they were out as she thanked me for that when she woke up this morning. Oh bugger I forgot to figure out what to do for dinner. :(
Best get going. See you later. Oh and thanks ladies, I'm sending that card to my bestie today. I hope she's OK.

Yep the jobs on seek annoy me too.
But what irks me around here, they advertise jobs as reception positions, paying only $18-20 per hour, and then add btw, will also include payroll, general ledger, bas and all reconciliations...thats a proper bookkeeper/ assistant accountant job that should pay much more. I refuse to apply, as I could work for that rate in Woolies.
Anyway, you will find something, just keep looking!
Ems - fantastic Chrissy cards!
Oipic - welcome! Hope you can keep up, MOS is a total chatterbox, lol.
Bella - good luck re the job.
Yeh! for Chaise and TT, doing really well.
STG - dont put yurself down, you have a certificate and over a year's experience, thats more than a lots of peple your age.
Kotakai - hope your back gets better soon, has the MS settled?
C38 - Im sorry to here about your friends with BC, its a scary thing. My ausnt has had a breat off and mum has had to have radiotherapy, so its in our family.
Thanks for the well wishes re my rant on DH..didnt speak to him much at all last night, so he knows how cranky I was. Tryed to explian to him last night, he is the only adult person I normally speak to (except work) and how upset I was, his responce was that I over exagerate everything. Told him thats why I tell him nothing as he makes me feel like Im neurotic.
No more ranting. Im meant to be working. I have 3 weeks off after today, cant wait!

We got ours from Target. Doesn't have feet though. The best thing to do is go on the choice website and see what they recommend as I think some walkers with wheels are a big no no!
I wasn't going to say anything b/c I don't want to jinx it. Actually...I might still not say anything. Does anyone use the Johnson and Johnson bed time bath and lotion of an evening on bubs? It might be magical. That's all I'll say.
Kirilly was sleeping through the night from 9 weeks and the only thing I can think of is that I started using the J&J bed time bath. So you are right.
But then again Michael was sleeping through from 3.5 weeks and I never used it on him.
Kotakai - what happened to your back? Can you go to the physio?
Bella - what sort of dog do you have? Daisy is a cocker spaniel who thinks she is in charge as she is older than the kids.

Daisyboo - Bella is a black labrador/kelpie x. She's 5 - we had her first as a practise before having a baby :laughing::laughing:
Poor thing has had her nose put out of joint a bit with the arrival of DD, but she's slowly getting used to her. She used to walk away whenever I approached her with the baby, but now I get DD to hold a dog biscuit and feed it to Bella - works a treat.
I am supposed to be going on a works picnic - just waiting for DD to wake up....

just watching Pip move all over the floor, not crawling just worming her way around!!
anyway enough chatter:ecomcity::ecomcity:
I have to say, Cancer scares the **** outta me. I think it what might finally eliminate life from this planet! That's exaggerating a little, but you can't talk to anyone who hasn't been affected by it.
We had another little boo boo this morning. By another, I mean there was one last night, too. Nicklas has been squirming out of his little bouncer chair. We thought it was cute. He was so clever, getting out of it and on to his tummy. Until last night, he got out of it and hit his face on the floor. DH and I both began to blame ourselves, but really, we're both probably at fault. We know he'll do it, but we didn't strap him in. I was sitting right next to him! Anyway, this morning he was napping in our bed. And he woke up and I heard him wake, then I heard crying, like "Owwwwww!" crying. Its very distinctive! So I run upstairs, and he's crawled up the bloody bed, and hit his head on the headboard, which is iron! So he's got a big red mark on his head. :( I'm going to have to keep a much closer eye on that kid.
Are you sure we can't wrap them in cotton wool????
Well your all :ecomcity:ers and just blaming it on MOS and me to make yourselves feel better :D
kotakai :hugs: for your back. Have you been to the chiro for it?
Great pics, Chais is such a happy baby.
c38 the orange cake was amazing! Will definitely do that one again too. Apple strudel is always a fave though.
Sorry about your friend.
MOS nice to know your cleaning efforts have been appreciated. Summer only tries to get her farts and poos out when I'm feeding her so I'm totally stuck and get gassed. She doesn't grunt so much yet but I imagine that's because she's not really on solids properly yet.
BBB I got my money a couple of days ago (Tuesday) and my surname is A so possibly goes alphabetically. If you get FTB Part A you will definitely get it. HANG IN THERE today, hope you get some sleep.
oconky sounds like a successful trip, but you didn't tell us what you bought!!!!
Shops today, bought Summer's cousins some sort of meccano set thing from toyworld and a lego car racer thing. I don't know, they're boys and I have no clue. DP's sisters boys and he usually buys their's but it's so busy at the shops I told him I would get stuff while I was in there today.
Bought my mums husband an outfit from colorado because he's hopeless with clothes and will wear whatever he's given and mum wants him to have a nice casual outfit for bbq's etc lol
Me I bought myself a new sketch paid, charcoal and graphite etc so I can start sketching Summer's pictures. Am just getting back into now after not doing it for years so no idea what I'm doing anymore.
Thought if it turns out okay, maybe I can do some for the June bubba's. We'll see
Must go, washing to get out before I go to the dentist :gloomy:
And re: the govt payment. I logged into fam asst. last night online and it said that if you are getting the payment, you'll most likely get it when you get your regular payment. So if you get paid fortnightly, you should get the $1000 on your next payment. I'm assuming that's what's going to happen with us. We get paid next Friday.
Are you sure we can't wrap them in cotton wool????
You can buy bubblewrap in bulk from officeworks. I might bubblewrap the house :D
Poor Nicklas :hugs:
You can buy bubblewrap in bulk from officeworks. I might bubblewrap the house :D
Poor Nicklas :hugs:
Not a bad idea K8Y!
Forgot to mention, after I calmed him last night, DH takes him and says, "You know, you can only cry like that for so much longer before you have to toughen up" Before I had a kid I joked if it was a boy, I wasn't gonna have a cry baby...I think DH has taken it to the next level! We should give him at least a year before we tell him boys don't cry! :p
No money$$$$ from KRUDD yet Im last name starts with a Q.....hmmm is anyone else still waiting??? Hope we do get it??? We do receive part A & B fortnightly p/ments.
Then as k8y said, you should definitely get it. My last name starts with an "H" but I don't reall seiing the usual payments cme in at the same time.....
MOS - Take 2 Can I have the lemon cake recipe pretty please.
Sorry! I do remember you asking but I kind of got side tracked. Sending now.
Thanks for the welcomes guys :)
Great photos of Chaise and Bella's DD very cute!!
Here's one of Marli...
http://www.dropshots.com/oipic#date/2008-12-07/09:39:41
Beautiful pic Marli. We love pics!!! And it reminds me, we have the same outit but I keep on forgetting to wash it so that it's ready for Christmas day.
Back from the shops. I bought a shadow box in a raw wood so I'm going to paint it the colours Sam's got in his "corner" and maybe put his first pair of shoes in it or something nice to display. I too k8y, have had an attack of the arty farties today! :D
Now need to sort dinner.... uummmmmmm.... :dizzy:
Well this has been the sh!ttest day!
I made my dentist appt on Monday after suffering severe toothache on Saturday night. Couldn't get in until 4.30pm on Friday, so I get there today and they had no record of my appt so I had to reschedule :hair: DP came home early today so I could go and everything. The earliest next appt I can now get is 12pm on Tuesday, failing that, not till Saturday! So now DP has to take time off in the middle of the day to look after Summer so I can go again.
Today in Colorado some woman tried to push in line. I said excuse me I was here first and she goes, but your in the 'other line' (there were 2 ppl serving at the one counter). I said no I'm not, I'm in this line and I was here before you (everyone was staring :o) and she goes 'oh whatever then, you go'. So I did. Rude b***h :shame:
Then today when I went over the road overpass and to merge into the traffic, I was 3/4 car length in front of the car that was in the lane I was merging into, and she would not let me in :hair: She is suppose to give way to me as I'm merging and my car is ahead of hers. I was not pushing in or anything. By this stage I was running out of lane, so I thought bugger her, I'll move across, she'll have to give way, which she did, but she blasted me with the horn, so I put my window down and gave her the finger :D Then when I exited off that road, she had to exit too behind me, so I slowed down to make sure I was doing JUST on the speed limit, and I got into the right lane as I needed to turn right up ahead, and she FLEW up past me on the left lane and got into the right lane, just so she could be ahead of me. I tell you (sorry to any other qld'ers), but I'm a nsw girls originally and qld drivers are the worst. They're rude and inconsiderate, they won't let you in to lanes to save their life, they tailgate you, they drive in the right lane when they're not overtaking so they block the faster traffic.
Vent over
I've managed to get 30ml of normal formula into Summer over the past 2 days after seeing the dietician and she's been chucky yesterday and today. So I feel it's safe to say that she definitely has a cows milk protein intolerance. Poor bubba.
Plus I've been a bit lazy with my dairy intake over the past 2 weeks. Not full on drinking milk, eating cheese and yoghurt, but I've been eating foods that contain dairy, like cake, biscuits, prepared meals and stuff and the past 2 weeks she's only managed 2 poos if that.
This is really difficult. Have to try her on soy formula now, the poor munchkin. I hate this :(
k8y ditto, ditto and DITTO! QLD drivers are the worst! :D And they stop at roundabouts when there are NO other cars for MILES! A roundabout means GIVE WAY, not STOP FOR HALF AN HOUR!!! :hair:
:o
I'm sorry you had a cr@ppy day. :hugs:
Tomorrow will be better as you're gettting your hair done! I too am taking Sam to my appointment and am sooooo scared he'll be whingy... :fingerscrossed:
I bet I could find just as many dumb drivers in NSW :shakehands:
I thought all the dumb drivers were in Atlanta, Georgia until I moved home. I've come to the conclusion no one anywhere in the world can drive.

Oh my gosh girls. :ecomcity:!
The news and the paper said the payment goes in when you recieve your usual FTB payment.
Oipic - Another Emma - you must be a lovely lady :p I'm sure Supermum would agree. lol. Welcome and best of luck keeping up with the chatter in here. I think we should get paid for it - I swear it's like a part-time job! Your little Marli is gorgeous. Love the name.
C38 - Sorry to hear about your friend. Hope she recovers well. It does give you the heeby jeebies. And I second your comments about K8y organising any weddings/christenings! Think you should become a wedding planner or something K8y!
MOS - re: the poos, DD put her head down and gets a very concentrated look with a red face, lol. A couple of low grunts and you know something's on the way.
Sk6 - Men sometimes. :hugs:s hun. You know you're not neurotic, he's just being selfish. As they all can get. Hope stops to have a listen to you.
Babywes - Don't stress about the job thing hun. Something will come along - there's plenty out there, and you're more capable than a lot of the drongos out there in the workforce. Honestly, you wonder how some people dress themselves in the morning.
Bella - good luck heading back to work!
Oconky.... I've forgotten you post hun  Sorry! But I know you posted. And I will go back and re-read it when I finish this, hehehe.
K8y - sorry for your crappy day hun. Hope getting your hair done tomorrow makes it alllll fade in memory!
Ugh, I've forgotten other posts. But hello to everyone!
Hey, how about this? Non-hubbers can't drive! :D
Hey, want something amusing to do to annoy your bubba? I was mopping this morning with my MP3 player on and when I picked Sam up, I put one of the ear phones to his ear. It was SOOOO funny! His head started turning from side to side frantically trying to figure out where the sound was coming from! It was hillarious!

Ooh! Remembered some more! :o
Kotakai - hope your back feels better - is it preggers back pain? Chais is looking goreous (still love that teething necklace) And boy he has caught up to his cousin! You posted comparison pics of those two early in the piece, didn't you?
Bella - your little miss is too cute!! Those big blue eyes are just amazing!
And Stg - Charli's so gorgeous. Love the foodface pic, lol.
Okay, think that's it.
 MOS, you're a tease. Must have looked very cute.!

I've heard that about Qld'ers:laughing:
What a rude lady:devil6:people are like that at this time of year...everyone pushes in.....its just madness out there:dizzy:
What a bugger about your dentist appt.
:hugs:Lots of cuddles K8y

Its such a hard thing formula, both my boys have been chucky babies,Jake really bad so I put him on Karicare Thickened formula,Casey was a bit aswell so I put him on the same one now he only does it now & then.
You will notice in her poo's if she has a cows milk Intolerance as they will be different(runny etc/marshmallow texture~thats what the CHN told me when Jake was little) hard to know as B/F babies poo's are soft anyway.
Did the formula go straight through her? or was she just chucky?
You could always try her on thethickened formula & see how that goes? just a couple of bottles...but there is nothing wrong with soy milk either,Jake even had soy yogurt when he was a bubba as the other kinds were a little strong, its also there gut its still not very mature at such a young age.
You will find the right one, trial & error:thumbsup:

Where is everyone................MOS......are you lurking???? I know you are..
Im going to Shannon Noll tomorrow night:smiliedance:with DH......looking forward to that!
So both boys @ Nanas but will have to pick Casey up as " She wont have him over night " hahaha
Only because hes still a little baby...but Jake will stay:goodvibes:
I'm here BB! Have fun tomorrow night. :smiliedance:
I really have very low patience on the roads. Ppl who do under the speed limit, practically STOP to make a turn, don't know how to use round-a-bouts...seriously, I took the driving test. I thought you had to learn all this stuff? There really are some morons on the roads. But some of us QLDers can drive :D. Like me. Not sure about many others. Actually, my DH's driving makes me nuts. And he does all the things he gets frustrated at others for doing!! He rarely drives when we go anywhere together, unless I wanna drink!
Another thing DH does, and he gets this from his mother, if a lane is ending and someone is trying to sneak up it to cut off a bunch of traffic, my DH will sit on the frikin bumper of the car in front of him not to let them in, OR he'll sit half in one lane, half in the other. Those ppl **** me off, too, but really, its not worth getting in an accident over.
At least most people I've noticed here know how to merge, and will move over. America is a bloody nightmare for merging. They're clueless.
Boy I could rant on and on about stuff on the road the does my head in. I seriously need to figure out how to not let it get ot me or Nicklas will be that kid on the TV commercial that is copying his mother giving antoher driver the finger and yelling at him.
babywez, I really just laughed out loud. I was picturing a little kid imitating mother giving the bird to another driver. I don't think we have that ad down here but I wish we did!

ive nnoticed since ive started f=driving everyone breaks the rules. EVERYONE speeds. it unreal! But im a qlder and Im a considerate driver. I mean, whats the rush, all it does is increase the risk of a crash and I cant risk that with my precious cargo :)

Charli does that when her great aunt wants to talk to her on the phone. haha
do you guys drink full caffeinated offee
stg, I drink full caffeinated coffee but I try to limit to one per day. I manage this probably one out of every two days... :o
Ahh that sucks K8y, hope your DD goes well on the soy formula.
I'm convinced most other drivers suck! I'm sick of sitting behind people doing 70 in a 100 zone.
Yeah I'm pretty sure you get the bonus with your normal FTB payment, so we have to wait til the 18th.
I was a coffee ADICT before getting pregnant. Then it repulsed me while I was pregnant.
THen I havent had it since she has been born.
You think it would affect her at all if I had one sometimes? Since I havent had coffee at all with her?
closest i have is like diet coke
bed time for me. night
I drank coffee most of the morning, every morning when I lived in the states. Then we went to Europe, and our first stop was England with friends of mine and we drank so much tea, not coffee. That I didn't need the coffee anymore. Which was good b/c a few weeks later we found out I was pregnant! So that helped me kick the habit. That said, if I have coffee now, its usually decaf cappacino. Iced coffees are my real weakness tho, and I try to have them only if I've just fed Nicklas or know I don't have to for a couple more hours. Dunno if that helps, but supposedly it helps with alcohol, so surely the same applies to caffein?
:wave:Evening everyone!
Man Im tired, so this post probably wont make any sense. Lets see how I go.
I forget most of what Ive read, but it sounded like we were all going well, apart from k8ys cr@p day! Hope tomorrow is better for you hun!
Welcome Oipic!:shakehands:
Am loving everyones Christmas baby photos, all just soo cute! I really must do something similar, we have the Chrissy outfit there ready to go.
Took Liam to see Santa yesterday. It was right on his sleep time, but he was well behaved - wouldnt crack a smile for love nor money, but wasnt scared of Santa. I cracked up at the photographer leaping around with a puppet and trying to get Liam to smile:laughing: - what a job! Mum is going to pick up the photos on Sunday - is that the way it works? You dont get the photos on the spot, dont even see them? I ordered a package with the pics on a disc also, so will upload once I get them.
Went to spend my ruddy-money today (receive FTB on Thursdays, surname D?), and the shopping centre was absolutely PACKED! I think everyone in Ballarat was there. Didnt help that it was pouring rain. Not sure if I helped boost the economy with my money though - it mainly went on credit card bill and home loan.
TOnight Im feeling a bit sick. I bought one of those really long Toblerone bars for a KK present for a friend.......and have just finished eating it myself:rolleyes: Really, I just CANNOT have chocolate in the house!
OK, enough rubbish from me. Hope you all have a great weekend and all bubs are brilliant. Take care:flowerz:
Hi :ecomcity::ecomcity:ers
Hi oipic
Kotaokai hope your back feels better soon!!.
chais is beautiful. do you think the teething necklace helps?? I would be worried that he might bite it and choke..but that the nurse in me. I love amber..to tell if its real you run it through a flame..or heat up the end of a sqewer and touch it...real amber doesnt melt. Plastic resin cheat amber melts. I brought heaps of amber when I was in China but Im too scared to test my favorite bits...LOL
As for drivers Tassie drivers are pretty rude as they aren't used to heaps of traffic. The main bridge that goes over the Derwent here has three lanes, and you need to be in specific lanes when you exit.. you can go the entire length of the bridge and noone will let you in...god forbid that you get somewhere 3seconds earlier then they did. I hate it in peak hour. Don't know if you find the ame thing BB..espescially as you live on the Eastern Shore.
I haven't checked o see if my ruddy dollars are there yet... all goes in the black hole called themortgage..and I just draw out what I want...so I find it hard to tell unless I specfically look it up on internet banking.
Oh I got my SS pressie yesterday THANKYOU.. well Gabriels pressie. Its the only one under my tree so far. In a box and it rattles...I love that!
Am getting mine tomorrow now I've FINALLY decided what to buy...Just hoping I can get one under the $10
Gabriel has just discovered that if he cranks his head sideways and looks upwards andbackwards from his car seat that he can see me. Did it yesterday and spent the whole of the 5minute drive straining to see me..poor lovey.Sarted doing to today as well, but couldnt keep it up for the 20 minute drive. He loks liek the excorsist baby trying to do it..just needs to do a green puke and Im outa there!!
As for grunting when he poos..havent noticed.. he just STINKS. But the last class of yoga the teacher had us sitting in a circle crossed knees touching, baby perched on your lap while you took a deep breath and hummmmmmmmmmmmed it out...So the room was all quite and peacful except for the hummmmmmming of mummies.... and the really really loud grunts and farty noises of one chubby girl baby :laughing: I had to REALLY concentrate not to crack up

Nicklas does that in his car seat too. If I stop at a light, and turn around to check on him, more times than not I see him looking at me. he's so cute.
Nicklas doesn't make any noises when he poops. He has a noise that sounds like he's pooping. But he never is. He also doesn't poop every day. Is that ok? Boy do they stink now tho.
A funny story from this morning. Called my mum at 6:30 this morning to see if she wanted to go to the beach for a bbq breakfast...was too late! My other sister called at 5:30 to go to the flea market! We are not a normal family.
Nick and I had a lovely walk this morning from 6-6:30. Its gonna be a stinker later today.

Thats soo cute! Charlotte has her seat forward now. SHe SCREAMED in the car before that. She likes to be able to see me.
I got my SS present yesterday. Big :hugs:to them :) Thankyou
Im posting mine on Monday.
This weaning thing..
Charlotte sits on the boob for like 40 minutes. Now add that time again for solids, its more full on than ever. its like I know its best to wean her to a bottle. Time, Practicality, Convenience, Me getting a realistic bra size back.
And all the books Ive read, its not that hard to wean them, the hardest thing is for the parent to just.. accept it.. you know?
And I reckon thats it hey.. I havent let go emotionally.
Im fine feeding her EBM and she takes it fine with bottle now.. But formula.. I think its me. Because I HATE the smell of it lol.. so its like I dont force it on her.
I gave her a bottle yesterday of formula mid morning. SHe knows what a bottle is and grabs out for it. She sucks on it, has maybe 10 mls then kinda gets disinterested. She has a confused look on her face by the taste, not overly impressed but seems OKAY with it (she used to gag and spit it)
But I dont think she was very hungry at the time.
I want to do it like, replace 1 feed a day for a week, the next week 2 a day etc.
Im going to offer her formula in bottle again today when she is hungrier.
I know its just me.. In a way I dont want to let go emotionally.. so Im kinda weaning myself aswell. But I know it would and will be harder for me as well as her if I wait alot longer?
And arent they supposed to get more efficent at eating?? it still takes 30-60 min to feed her. Would sheild have anything to do with this??
hrmmmm
QLD Drivers...:geek::geek:
Cant merge, NEVER EVER indicate, I swear indicators must be an optional extra in cars in Qld, Id say only 4 out of 10 ever indicate. They daudle, they are rude, and THEY ALWAYS SIT IN THE RIGHT LANE on the expressway, and this is coming from me who has anxiety whilst driving.
I thought it was just me and DH, but it seems others think the same.
DD had her first sleep over at a party of a lovely little girl, hope the friendship grows, as she seems to have a nice family, as opposed to her other friend.
Now Im going back to catch up.
Then off to buy the last of the Xmas pressies, including a fishing kyack (sp??) for DH, its $1000 but he has wanted one for years, so I said just get it, lol, the roof racks were another $280, and they were the cheap ones, but thats all he is getting, and I didnt get him much for his birthday this month.
Have a good day girls!
:smiliedance: MOS we get our hair done today!!
BBB do you think it could be just having formula in her system rather then the dairy? She only had 30ml in her system over the past 2 days which I thought was such a small amount that it wouldn't have been too upsetting for her  I wasn't lurking last night. I passed out at 8.30am, am so tired lately I don't know why?
Yay for Shannon Noll. He fronted Live here in Brisbane a couple of years ago when DP and I and friends went and he was surprisingly awesome!!! Have fun (and watch that wine ;)).
babywez I agree, there are a good drivers out there, and it does annoy me too when drivers sneak past on an inside lane to push in and front of traffic. Wasn't what I was doing though, my left lane was merging into traffic from an overpass, so wasn't pushing in, just merging and she still wouldn't let me in  Summer is definitely not a regular poo'er. She seems her worst when I eat dairy, but when it's completely cut out of my diet, she goes regularly, at least every 2 days.
 Kyles eating her presents lol. I've seen some Santas helpers working very hard for the smile!! Ours had a squeaker toy and they walked up to her and squeaked it and she just kept giggling so very lucky to get some good shots!
oipic babies are hard work!!! I will try the soy formula and see how she goes....
c38 and ems there is no way I could do that planning stuff for a living! It was too stressful.... but it certainly kept me busy and if I wasn't so busy with it I might've taken a step back and been able to enjoy it more!!!
awwww that is sooo cute that Mr G tries to look at you in the car.
stg she might need some time getting used to the formula taste. It's great she takes a bottle so readily. I wish Summer would! I don't like the smell of formula either, it smells gross, then it gets on their clothes and their clothes smell gross lol
Swimming this morning at 9am and still trying to get Summer to sleep before we go, otherwise she gets sh!tty in the pool. It's hard because she's not totally tired yet.....
QLD Drivers...:geek::geek:
YES YES YES! They NEVER indicate grrrrr, which is why half the time I have to stop at a roundabout rather then just give way, because I don't know where the hell they're going on the roundabout grrrrr and merging?? pffft, they go to slow, then speed up then slow right down, start moving across then swerve and go back, then try and inch back in - FFS! lol. DP is a really calm driver so he does most our driving.
Thats great your DD1 has found a lovely friend and yay for her sleepover, she must have been so excited :yelclap: did she get homesick at all?
I only bought DP some boardshorts for xmas. Not much thought into that so am wondering what else I can buy him. They're really nice but it's the thought that I am having the issue with.
I might have to move to NSW and see what all this "indicating" is you girls are talking about :p We don't have to indicate to get our license up here. :raspberry:

BBB do you think it could be just having formula in her system rather then the dairy? She only had 30ml in her system over the past 2 days which I thought was such a small amount that it wouldn't have been too upsetting for her
K8y, I was going to suggest the same thing. The first time I had to give Kiz formula, she spewed everywhere. Moreso than she usually did. When I told the LC I was seeing that I had to give her formula, the first thing she asked was 'and did she spew everywhere?' with a knowing nod.
It upsets their stomach flora at first. Once they get used to it, it should be fine :)
Off to Eumundi markets today :D

She refused a bottle for a long while. I forced her to take a dummy at 4 months old. Just held it in her mouth. Well my grandmother. It took persisting, but It worked.
So since then I gave her the same brand bottle as the dummy and she took it.. gradually.
Just needing to learn how to suck on something different.

Do they get chucky for a few days? or just a first time spew????

Wonder if I should persist then with the normal formula, what do you think BBBand ems? she only had 30ml over 2 days and was quite chucky, but not immediately. Was at its worst last night. Didn't give her any this morning and she's fine.
Best be off to get ready for down the coast!

Hi ers
But the last class of yoga the teacher had us sitting in a circle crossed knees touching, baby perched on your lap while you took a deep breath and hummmmmmmmmmmmed it out...So the room was all quite and peacful except for the hummmmmmming of mummies.... and the really really loud grunts and farty noises of one chubby girl baby I had to REALLY concentrate not to crack up
Hello....
We should catch up!
Maybe after christmas when everything calms down........
What I notice about Hobart drivers is that..like today :rain:hardly any one drives with there lights on........& its hard to even see 100m in front of you in this weather....

Hey K8y I guess a weeks worth of small amounts of formula won't hurt her,was she upset after the feeds?(grizzly) Breast milk is alot thinner & she doesn't throw that up,so maybe she does have a intolerance to cows milk or her stomach is trying to get used to something different so brings it back up,ring the CHN see what they say? remember when they spew it always looks like alot.

I was really tired last night,Casey has been a trooper & slept through the past few nights! But getting up @ 5.30am takes it out of me
Jacob is having terrible 3's at the moment........but then he can be a angel the next
Ive been reading that baby whisperer book. (its so huge)
but I think I know a problem I have. 3 hour routine instead of 4 hour.
I just routinely give her the breast 2 1/2 - 3 hours after the last one ends.
And I wonder why im finding it hard to fit in solids, and naps etc.
So Im wanting to start feeding her at regular times each day. 7, 11, 3, around dinner then a bedtime feed.. Then solids an hour after the meal feeds.
I started today.
7 - milk
8- solids -ate heaps
9.30 - nap for a full hour (rare)
11 - she had maybe 10 min on breast,
12.30 - solids lunch, again ate heaps
1.30 - nap for half an hour
and now she has woken up seems tired and whingy. No idea if she is hungry for milk since the 11am feed was so short.
THIS is where I think I need her weaned to bottle. Time. What, i go out shopping and I feed her on the boob for 30-60 min, then have to stop in another hour to feed her solids, its just too much.
Its all so overwhelming! And at the same time I want to start doing the baby whisperer sleeping method..
:( im stressed and dont know where to start and dunno what to do
I was a coffee ADICT before getting pregnant. Then it repulsed me while I was pregnant.
THen I havent had it since she has been born.
You think it would affect her at all if I had one sometimes? Since I havent had coffee at all with her?
closest i have is like diet coke
bed time for me. night
I only ever had like one weak coffee every few days when PG but I only limit myself to one per day now.... oops! Should I be having decaf instead?!
I swear indicators must be an optional extra in cars in Qld, Id say only 4 out of 10 ever indicate.
And those 4 are from NSW! :D

I know when I gave Sam apple for the first time, he projectiled it back at me. Then the next day, he gagged a little at first but ate with this look on his face. Then yesterday he ate it with this puzzled look on his face still but no gagging. I read somewhere that new tastes can sometimes take up to 10 times of being introduced until they actually eat it. Maybe it's the same with formula.
Oh and when I think of Eumundi markets, I remember the Nepalese balls / dim sim thingies that I used to get there.. Mmmmmm....
Well I got my hair done. I got a bob! And I also got it coloured again. I love it.... except the lady did the first foil right at the front so it's really obvious but she said that will fade... :fingerscrossed: Sam was OK. He grumbled a little but we were there for 4 hours, so I can't complain. He slept a little too.
Trying to figure out where to go. DH wants to go out for a meal. So do I, but we can't decide where. :o
stg, :hugs: I think your routine is a good idea. Is there any way you can organise your day around it for a while, just until you get it all sorted? Like I pack Sam's solids ready to go in his nappy bag and I give him booby as I'm leaving. So if he gets hungry, it's just a matter of adding some boiled water from his bottle to his Farex and then stirring in the already-heated container of Pears or whatever. Then again it normally only takes 5 mins tops for him to eat 4 tablespoons... gobble guts!
Wow, it's REALLY quiet in here! Where IS everyone? k8y??? :crying:
I put Sam down again tonight and he put himself to sleep although he didn't do it the last 2 nights. He did 2 nights in a row before that though so I'll just keep trying. I actually put him in his cot and he just chatters to himself, chuckles if he sees me or DH make eye contact  but falls asleep within about 20 mins which is great.
I must say I love my new hair cut. I got a bob and it's heaps blonder than normal. DH always loved my hair long and blonde which is what it was like when we met. So I went blonder but short and he said it makes me look 5 years younger and he loves it. You know when they REALLY like it when they keep on commenting on it every time you enter the room. So I'm happy!
Tomorrow we're going to have lunch with all of our friends. We always get together just before Christmas and this year one of the guys has organised it at a local beer garden so it should be really nice. With any luck my hair will still look this good... maybe I should sleep sitting up...
Well I hope someone comes on and chats soon because I'm bored....
BBB, I hope you had fun at the concert tonight... and remember, no hang-over in the morning!
Oh SMO3, we were chatting at our meet the other day and I will be up your way between Chrissy and New Years and lambkin might be aswell. If we can time it, would you be up for a meet? Oconky said she'd be in too.
hi all,
well back up the coast and very happy that the mariners beat sydney fc ( sorry my soccer obsession coming out of me!)'
had a good night last night with my friends, Pip acted up a bit, but she was overtired and a bit constipated (that sorted itself out today....4 times LOL)
MOS keen to see your bob after our discussion on thursday...mind you my hair is totally different to yours! you'll have to post a pic...I didn't get any comment after I got my hair done last time and it is shorter now which apparently he prefers
k8y hope today was a better day for you.
stg...sounds like a pretty good routine, very similar to mine, though it just came about naturally... maybe Charli is just sucking for comfort as they should be pretty efficient now???? (says me who FF so please do not hesitate to ignore my thoughts/suggestions)
my thing at the moment is whether PIp needs to sleep between feeds, occasionally she doesnt have one, but can get grumpy or fall asleep on the bottle???? she typically still has at least 40 min between every feed and usually one big 2 hour sleep a day.
not sure about qld vs nsw driving, I think there needs to be something about sydney vs everywhere else, especially driving last night during the torrential rain.
someone asked what I got from ikea????
another highchair- my IL's paid for it and some toys for one of the ladies for mother's group- a wooden trian and wooden stack one of the soft balls (Pip already has one) and a wall organiser- frog style. organised myself well so I knew where I was going. would love the chance to just dawdle through the place, but DH never lets me and of course it is always hit and miss with Pip!!
anyway might stop c&*ping on...hope everyone is well,,chat soon time for
Wow, it's REALLY quiet in here! Where IS everyone? k8y??? :crying:
Awwww sorry MOS! DP and I watched a movie last night - Wanted with Angelina Jolie. Wasn't too bad actually.
We were thinking of watching The Dark Knight but it goes for 2.5 hours and we figured we'd be asleep before it finished! We were supposed to go to a post wedding party last night but piked as too tired. DP worked all day and I was swimming with Summer and then down the coast, long day.
That was me asking about Ikea oconky. Can't tease us by telling us you went shopping without telling us what you bought
In regards to sleeping, Summer doesn't seem to do to well with being awake during the day for longer then 2 - 2.5 hours. Is that normal? So say I feed her at 10am after she's woken up, after that we'll go out or have a play, by 12pm she has to be down for a sleep again. So she usually naps about 3 times a day. Her morning nap around 9am for an hour, then one at 12pm for 1-1.5 hours, then down at 3-4 for another nap. If not she gets overtired and screams her head off. If I follow her nap schedule properly, when I put her down at night and put her tomy light on, she's always asleep in 5 minutes or less, I know because her tomy tune only goes for 5 minutes and she's always asleep before it finishes playing.
Summer slept from 8pm to 4am last night :smiliedance:
What is everyone up to today? It's lovely up here, though might just do a bit of housework/washing and sitting about working on my drawing.
Jacob is having terrible 3's at the moment........but then he can be a angel the next
Toddlers can be so trying, I reckon they are more work than babies. Im sure it will get better soon. I found with DD1, as soon as I could reason with her at about 3 years old, ie, if your good, we will do this, if your not good then we wont do the fun thing. When she started to understand, my life got easier, lol.
Its all so overwhelming! And at the same time I want to start doing the baby whisperer sleeping method..
:( im stressed and dont know where to start and dunno what to do
STG, can you differentiate the cries between hungry and tired? Sounds like she may have needed some milk, or with this heat are you giving her some water? That might help, or even 50/50 water/juice?
MOS your hair sounds lovely, Im so jealous, as my hair is curly and very, very thick, Im very limited to what I can do with it. I just keep it layered and length to my bra strap, the wieght pulls it down so it doesnt look so bouffy.
ems, how was the Eumundi markets, hot I bet? Hope you had fun.
Now for me, when I went and saw the Dr on Monday re my anxiety, she picked up straght away a lot of it is caused by my MIL, so she said I need to discuss with DH, which I cant as I I feel I will fall to pieces and he just wont get how I feel. So I put it in writing, but I sound like a total b!tch, and dont know how else to say it. havent shown it too him, as I feel like a school girl writing a letter, but im really stressing as they are coming for a week after Xmas. So Im throwing out to you girls to see if you can help, here goes;
"When your parents visited last time I found it incredibly stressful and unpleasant. I found their behaviour disrespectful and at times just plain rude. Hence I am not looking forward to them visiting again, I'm sorry but that is the truth.
So this visit I would like to clarify what is ok, and what isn’t;
It is not OK to turn up at 1am, and stomp around the house until 3am, waking the whole house. If they can’t arrive before 8pm, I would suggest they stay in a caravan park.
Its not OK to sleep in till 9.30-10.00 every day and expect the household to be quiet.
It is not OK to treat our home as a motel, or me as an employee.
It is not OK to leave plates on the table, waiting for me to clear up. One day lunch plates were still on the table when I wanted to serve dinner, simply because I hadn’t cleaned up after them.
It is not OK to leave things all over the house, ie. Newspapers, reading glasses, cups, plates.
If you want your father to have a break, then you will have to mind your mum. It’s not my job to have to toilet her or empty a soiled commode pan. Otherwise you will need to organise a respite carer to come in and look after her.
I have asked your sister to remind them to bring the small wheelchair, as the scooter will not fit down the hallway to the toilet. If they forget, you will need to hire one.
I find their behaviour as grandparents just plain odd. They seem to have no interested in either of the girls. They never ring to see how they are, or ring to chat to A. They don’t (or sometimes) send gifts. And to be honest, they didn’t have much interest in A when they visited last time; all your mum did was complain A was too noisy. So I really don’t know why they are visiting again.
I also am very offended by your mother’s comments over the last 7 years, complaining about having 7 granddaughters and only one grandson. If she makes this comment again to me, I will not hold my tongue any longer.
I want their visit to be a pleasant experience for all of us, I and will need your help and support when they are here.
I'm writing this, not to have a go at your parents, but to try to explain how I feel".
BTW, they are only a few of the things they did that turned my house up side down last time.
I find I really stress out when the house is out of order, and the kids out of routine, as you can tell I need things in order in my life.
So what are your thoughts? Can I word it better, Im not sure what to do or how to discuss this with him.
I do feel better myself having written it down to get the emotions in order.
Wow, congrats Summer on a wonderful sleep! :yelclap:
Sam doesn't last long being awake during the day. He generally has a nap mid morning, just after lunch and just before dinner. I like it. It gives me some time to get things done, etc. He's napping right now!
My IL's have the Arabic channel and it's on 24/7 (hence why we have a 50" plasma in our bedroom and got it connected to Optus TV as soon as we moved in!). Anyway, they have Aerobics Leb Style. Not sure what it's really called but that's what I call it. It's hillarious! I said to DH it's like they've found the old outfits Aerobics OZ Style wore in the 80's and they're recycling them! I also now know how to count to 8 in Arabic and backwards! :D
I added new pics of Sam to my FB. Not sure if anyone noticed so will post links:

I fed him quick and got him out of it although it was handy to keep him still.

There are others there too if you just scroll through but they are the best ones.
Roxy is going to the vet this morning to get her annual shots (about 3 months late :o). Then we're off to a beer garden at the local pub for lunch with a bunch of friends as we normally get together just before Christmas. I remember the last year we had it at a friend's place just before we moved and we had fancy dress. It was the BEST party I've ever been to. I went as Dorothy from the Wizad of Oz. I made my outfit (like actually SEWED it from scratch! :D) and eve glued heaps of red glitter onto an old pair of shoes, got those cute little white socks with the lace frill around the top... and carried a stuffed dog. It was soooo much fun!
Ohhhh sk6 I just scrolled down and read your post. I got stressed out just reading it. You have EVERY right to feel like this and are not being b!tchy at all. Maybe keep it more along the lines of "when they come to stay and expect me to clean up after them, etc it makes me feel used, and like an employee"... etc, etc. I remember the pre marriage course we did at the church before we were married and the number one thing that as helped us over the years is to be able to tell the other person how things make you feel rather than blaming. Having said that, the caravan park bit is the only bit that sounds a bit snappy. Although you have every right to feel like this, it go down much better with your DH if you treat it like a letter to get your FEELINGS out in the open. Just to let him know how these things make you feel, etc.
Maybe like this:
When they sleep in until 10am every morning expecting the house to be quiet, it makes me feel....
When they leave their plates on the table expecting them to be taken care of, it makes me feel....
If you want your dad to have a break from being the carer of your mum, I completely understand but when it's expected of me to do these things, it makes me feel.....
Hope that helps. I just think it's more "husband friendly" and means he's more likely to continue reading rather than chucking a wobbly.
Sk6, I wish I could give you big hugs. Sounds like you need them. You need your DH to read your thoughts and feelings and then give you a big hug. I hope you're able to get these things out in the open before the onslought of visitiors arrive. I can tell you're stressed out about it. It's awful when people like that come to stay but I could imagine it would make it ten times worse with a husband that doesn't get it. At least mine thinks the same as me and helps out with things like dishes, etc. :hugs:
Holy cr@p SK6. Are you kidding me?! I would have banned them from my house a long time ago!!! You poor thing. I think you need to show that to your DH, but maybe preface it by telling him "Most of this might upset you, but I have to get it off my chest as I really need your support" or something like that. No wonder you are so stressed! Anyone would be with guests like that. What slobs! What is wrong with his mother? Good luck with all of it :hugs:
K8Y I was totally kidding about the indicating thing, we do have to indicate to get our license, but then we stop :) Sometimes I indicate, sometimes I don't, and I don't know why not. I try to always indicate at roundaboubts because it drives me nuts when ppl don't. But changing lanes or sitting at lights in a specific turn lane I usually don't.
Yesterday we were on the road and I had to merge, and traffic was quite bad. I noticed I was trying to merge infront of a NSW plate and I said to DH "If he doesn't let me in, those girls on BH are gonna get it!" And he let me in. :yelclap: I said, "Hmmm, maybe NSW drivers ARE better!... But our State of Origin team is better. "
MOS you will have to post a pic of your bob! That must be quite a change for you! Hope you like it.
We are off to my dad's today. Only see them once a week at most, usually once every 2 weeks, and they live 10 minutes from us. I see my mum every day, she's 20 minutes away! Nicklas has been up since 4:15 or something ridiculous so he'll probably be cranky and then step mum will start telling me what I "just need to do" and I will bite my tongue.
DH took Nicklas to the beach at 5 am this morning and I got 2 extra hours of sleep. That was much appreciated. I think my last post I said I didn't want to jinx myself, but J&J bedtime bath and lotion was magic. Well, I jinxed myself and its not magic. We had 2 great nights (8-4 and 7:15-4:15) and the last 2 nights have been cr@p. Bed at 8, up at 11, 2:30, 4....
Think that's enough rambling from me. OH! I made white christmas last night. Didn't turn out too bad. Not very "white" though...might just have to call it "Christmas" and I bought our turkey yesterday. Not looking forward to grocery shopping the next week and a half.

It will take & week or two before she will settle into a new routine, babies are so unpredicable at times, sometimes its just easier to go with the flow,I would keep trying what you are doing though,if she only had a half an hour sleep sounds like she was still tired, did you try & resettle her after that half hour? then if all else fails feed her, I know how hard it is,I have two of the munchkins:D
Wow, it's REALLY quiet in here! Where IS everyone? k8y???
No hangover for me :yelclap:I was sober as a judge last night......your hair sounds lovley!
Summer slept from 8pm to 4am last night
What is everyone up to today? It's lovely up here, though might just do a bit of housework/washing and sitting about working on my drawing.
Today we are having a quiet one,we going to Nan & Pops(inlaws) for a Roast :) Jake is still there he stayed there last night,we picked Casey up.
Yay for princess Summer sleeping through.
Now for me, when I went and saw the Dr on Monday re my anxiety, she picked up straght away a lot of it is caused by my MIL, so she said I need to discuss with DH, which I cant as I I feel I will fall to pieces and he just wont get how I feel. So I put it in writing, but I sound like a total b!tch, and dont know how else to say it. havent shown it too him, as I feel like a school girl writing a letter, but im really stressing as they are coming for a week after Xmas. So Im throwing out to you girls to see if you can help, here goes;
"When your parents visited last time I found it incredibly stressful and unpleasant. I found their behaviour disrespectful and at times just plain rude. Hence I am not looking forward to them visiting again, I'm sorry but that is the truth.
So this visit I would like to clarify what is ok, and what isn’t;
 Good on you........maybe you could sit down & tell him that you wrote him a letter explaining your feelings about his parents coming to stay etc Would he mind reading it as its very important to you,you poor thing Im sure he will understand.
:hugs:

Big big :hugs: Sk6 - you are a saint to have put up with all that last time, I'm with babywez I would've banned them a long time ago. I think your letter is great, and your OH needs a good talking to if he doesn't 'get it'.
I have always said that if my step mother-in-law ever comes over (unlikely that it is) I'll give her the name of the local caravan park. She made our visit home 3 years ago miserable and we didn't even see her the last time we went home - we were never invited to their house. OHs dad always came to visit us, even when my OH was in hospital while we were home, she never showed her face!
Stg - sounds like you know exactly what you are doing:yelclap:Do what you feel is right and if it doesn't work change it. That's what I do know. I'm over stressing what's right and what's wrong!
And I'm convinced that Perth drivers are the worst! I live near a new freeway entry, and you have to be in the right lane of the roundabout to get onto the freeway (or you can be in the right hand lane to go straight on) - I've had 3 near misses where cars have been in the left hand lane and cut straight across me when I'm in the right hand lane to go straight on, to get to the entry, so much so that I now stay in the left hand lane permanently just in case I'm not so lucky with the misses again! Bl**dy t***ers:banghead:
We are off to our Mothers Group Christmas BBQ today. It was supposed to be at a park at the local beach but it's going to be 35 here today so it's been moved to one of the mothers house who has a pool:yelclap:
Got to go on my own with DD as OH is at work, so that's a bit crappy, especially as all the other partners will be there. It also means if I want DD to go in the pool I have to take her - which means digging out some swimmers - reckon I'll wear boardshorts cos I'm not getting my bum out in front of a load of strange men.:o Not sure about my top half -there's not a lot up top which I think is almost as bad as having too much!
Just got DD back to sleep - I hope she'll sleep for a couple of hours and be rejuvenated for the BBQ.
Off to check out flights home -have decided to fly back with my sister in law in April, so at least I'll have help one way of the flight :D
Hi everyone!
SK6 - I think your letter sounds fine. Like MOS suggested, I too would add "it makes me feel...." or similar, but I also agree with Babywez - I wouldve shown them the door a long time ago! Huge :hugs: to you, and hope it all works out for you.
MOS - I would also like to see a pic of the new hair! I recently got mine cut and foils put in - and the silence was deafening when I got home!:laughing:My hair is naturally curly and I used to spend a fortune getting it straightened, but have let the curl come back. All DH could grumble is "I dont know why you spent so much on getting it straightened in the first place"
Had an early Christmas day lunch family get-together thing with ILs yesterday as some ILs are going away for Christmas Day. Liam got heaps of pressies, and particularly enjoyed playing with a cardboard box!
One gift was a Fisher-Price take along Sensory Swing. Does anyone else have one? Just a bit concerned as it holds up to 11kgs and Liam is around 8kgs now, and the babies on the box look a lot younger than 6 months, so not sure if we will get the use out of it. If you have one does your bub still use it? Have the receipt and ILs are happy for us to exchange if we decide not to keep it.
I am trying to tighten up Liams evening routine to help him sleep through, but am having limited success. I now bathe him every night (was every second night) I use the J&J bedtime bath (not so miraculous here, but smells DIVINE) and have dropped feeding him to sleep on the booby. He generally has a grumble at around 11pm (down by 8.30), which I now ignore. Dropping the booby feed means hes awake at 2-3am starving - has both boobs for a feed, now in the dark. Burp and back to bed, and hes aswake by 5.30-6am. I just want him to sleep until around 7am if possible...
Not much planned for today. The weather is going to be terrible and rainy, so will just be indoors, most likely tackling the heap of ironing which just keeps growing and growing:rolleyes:
Hope you all have a great day. Take care:flowerz:

hi everybody!!
Sorry I have been absent. We are STILL having problems with the internet out here (darn living in the sticks!) I've snuck into my parent's office while DP and DS are having a nap together, so they will probably have trouble finding me when they wake up. Hmm. Just to clarify (because I think I'm probably a little confusing), my parents live on 25 acres and run a business from home, so there's a separate demountable building for an office. There are two houses - one with my parents and brother, the other houses my sister, her husband and their daughter. DP, DS and I live in a shed. There are 3 sheds. Lol. Okay I think I've probably confused you all even more.
I've just entered the My Child Coverstar competition with this photo of Elliot
I didn't know which one to pick, so I ended up just choosing my favourite.

We went and bought a 3 foot live Christmas tree last night. I couldn't stand not having one! It just doesn't feel like Chrissy without it. It is very beautiful, despite it's tiny stature  It has a gold star on top and blue fairy lights and that's it. It's perfect. Yaay Christmas! :xmastree:
Am nervous about Christmas this year. We are spending it with my half-sister, her DH and their 3 kids. I've only met my half-sister once, and have never met her kids or partner! So yes.. nervous, but also excited.
I've almost finished all my wrapping which is also exciting.
Gosh i'm boring.
OH and the meet up was great the other day (despite getting incredibly lost, but I have special direction finding needs so not surprised ;)). I did a little chrissy shopping afterwards, fed El blah blah, and tried to get out of there before 3 hours so I didn't have to pay. HOWEVER, i am a big fan of Pretzel World and the one at hornsby is gone so parra is my only option. So I eventually figured out how to get down the bottom to the food court only to discover it was the wroooong food court. By the time I figured out how the heck to get up the top (and managed to find a lift with enough space for us!) and bought my darn pretzels, I put my ticket in to check the parking thing and I owed them $9!! And the pretzels were CR@P!!! Oh well. I got cupcakes and they were awesome, and El was amazing and slept almost all the way home so I should refrain from complaining.
Got my SS presssie all wrapped and ready to go. I have a parcel pickup at the post office so maybe that is mine? Hmmm. Will head in there tomorrow and pick it up and see! Yeeha.
xx
Love to you all

And I forgot to say that I am going to open a thread for us to share our SS pressies where we can all guess who bought what. :)
Post a pic if you can because that would be cuuuuuuute :noel::reindeer::snow::xmastree:
HO HO HO MEEEEEEEEEERRY CHRISTMAS!!
I entered Nicklas in that comp, too, then realised I submitted a pic that doesn't show off his big blue eyes! I put in this one:
http://www.facebook.com/photos.php?id=558738387#/photo.php?pid=1246611&id=558738387
Charlotte would just sit up and crawl around .. I should have taught her to self settle before she was mobile
stg...sounds like a pretty good routine, very similar to mine, though it just came about naturally... maybe Charli is just sucking for comfort as they should be pretty efficient now???? (says me who FF so please do not hesitate to ignore my thoughts/suggestions)
possibly. hmmm
STG, can you differentiate the cries between hungry and tired? Sounds like she may have needed some milk, or with this heat are you giving her some water? That might help, or even 50/50 water/juice?
Oh yeah I know her cries. She drinks water from sippy cup too. Its just juggling it all.
She seems to be doing well. I fed her at 7am breast. Then 8 solids. Then I went out, and get her a bottle of EBM at 11. She loved it and the feed was over in 5 MINUTES. IT WAS SO EASY compared to breastfeeding etc.
Then solids at 12.30.
Its all going well. Im not going to start her self settling thing until I get the routine and her feeding sorted (formula etc) cause its too much to throw at her at once.
She is now eating 3 proper meals instead of picking.
Re naps, she rarely goes over half hour. She has a couple short half hour'er a day. I probably sould rock her back to sleep after that..
But yesterday she had an hour in the morning then nothing more all day.
Today an hour this morning anda short one in car.
hmmm
She is in a good mood now.
I think ive decided to replace the 11am feed with a bottle.
EMB for a while, then transition into formula, Then Ill give away the 3pm feed to bottle.
I better stop going on and on about myself
Cyas!
BBB he is hot! Glad you had a great time :goodvibes:
stg sounds like you have a great routine sorted out
Beautiful photos lambkin & babywez! It's going to be a tough vote and I may enter yet, I haven't decided!
lambkin that SS thread sounds great. We'll open it after xmas because no one is allowed to open theirs until the big day (including you MOS!!).
babywez am glad that courteous nsw driver let you in  I am a good girl and when someone lets me in I give them a wave to say thanks. Even when they have to let me in just because it's the road rules. I thought you were joking about the indicating thing, but I wasn't sure :o
Kyles does it say what weight it starts from? or just from birth? Maybe work out how quickly he puts on weight (ie how long will it take to put on 3kg) and decide if its worth keeping it for that amount of time or get something else. I've decided we need a portacot but we're going away in hopefully February, so plenty of time to look for a sale.
I too find that if I drop the dream feed, Summer is up around 2-3pm for a feed. Although last night she managed 8pm to 4am but I think it was just because she'd had such a big day yesterday. It's a catch 22 because you can't go to sleep early around 8pm when they do to catch up on sleep because you have to dream feed, or go to sleep when they do, but wake up anyway at 3am to feed, then struggle to get back to sleep!
Bellaleggos sounds like a nice day but I'm with you there, hate baring the body in front of strangers (especially men!). Can't say I know any Perth drivers but sounds like they struggle with roundabouts too - idiots!!!!
Isn't it great getting all our road rage off our chests in here.
sk6 :hugs: I cannot believe from your letter, the gall of his family to be guests in YOUR house and expect your children to be quiet for them and you have to pick up after THEM?? If they want that kind of service they should be staying in a hotel. I agree with MOS about wording it in the 'I feel' thing too. Then they have nothing to do with the girls??? why do they visit? so they can USE you. Grrrrrr.
Q:
What are everyones bubs poo's like after they went onto farex? Summers used to be (TMI) creamy, like mayonnaise, but she did a poo yesterday and today and they're were more like peanut butter. Would that be the farex? or BBB or anyone else on formula - would it have been the formula? (even thought she had max 30ml over 2 days Thurs and Fri). Just wondering because I figured dairy intolerance caused runny explosive type poo's and if it's the formula, then maybe that would be my indication that it made her chucky just because it was new to the system.
(Sorry for the long winded Q).
I will email my findings to the dietician tomorrow.
PS she is self settling for her day naps now in under 10 mins too THANK YOU TOMY TUNES! I don't even have to pat her, just get the tired cue, put her in the cot and off she goes, what an angel :cloud9:
HAPPY BIRTHDAY CANDIEE!!!!! (sorry have used up my emoticon quota *eyeroll*)
stg, it sounds like you're doing wonderfully on your own. Good for you. I don't think you need anybody's help. You seem to be a pretty well adjusted and cluey mummy!
k8y, not sure about the poos but now Sam's on solids, it appears they come OUT the same way they go in! He did one long solid poo this morning that actually RESEMBLED one big carrot! But yes, they slowly went like that so started to gradually get creamier and thicker... not sure about the formula though.
Lunch with the friends was awesome today.
Hey, did someone say in a previous meet (lambkin or kotakai) that they love the new Rouse Hill shops? If so, please own up and I will meet you there for a coffee or something next time you're there. I love that place but no excuse to go! And k8y, I don't need to open my SS present, as I know it's a book! :D I wonder who it's from though... Someone in VIC...

Oooh we are back - had a lovely time but god it's hot here, 37 degrees at the last count. Thank god we went to the house with the pool. DD was fantastic, she went in the pool for the first time and went under water with her eyes open. Then she opened her Secret Santa pressie - a huge Tigger - her favourite. Then went to sleep in her chair!
What a trooper - such a good girl and it was very hot. I carry a damp flannel and icepack around with me for her on these hot days as she is such a hot baby. Now I love going to my Mothers Group but one of the mothers got up my nose today. She kept saying how DD was burning up and she'd be concerned if it was her daughter. Now I know DD and she is a hot baby as the other mothers know - so I know when to get concerned. In the end I left for fear of telling her to butt out:(
Wore my boardies and my bikini top but with a t-shirt over it so felt ok. But the partner of the same mother above - was creepy so glad I chose to wear the t-shirt. He had on those mirror sunglasses so you couldn't see where he was looking:o
k8y - Nappies?? Well DD has been on formula from 2 weeks and is now on puree food. Yesterday her nappies were the worst ever but I think that's part teething. Can't say I noticed a big difference after farex, but my what a difference after carrot! I agree with MOS's description.:D
The dog (Bella) is asleep by the side of me on the wooden floor and she's dreaming - sounds like she's tap dancing!
Ok best go and get my stuff ready for work tomorrow:no::no:
Great to hear you had a good day today Bella.
And I forgot to say earlier, good luck to those entering the cover star comp. I too will enter but I am yet to get the perfect shot of Sam. I think it goes for ages though, so I can take my time with it I think...
I got lots of compliments today on my hair and lots of name-calling out of jealousy for my recent win! :D I asked DH to take a pic of Sam and I so that I could post one of my new hair cut and I was sitting on our bed with him in front of the window and it turned out amazing. Here it is:

Anyway, thanks for all your help today, will think about rewording tommorrow.
MOS, Sam is so pretty! Should have been a girl!
MOS, Sam is so pretty! Should have been a girl!
 Thanks sk6, I have to stick to the obvious boy colours, like blue and green. Yet I still get comments like "she's got her mother's eyes"... that time I had him in a baby blue and white stripe jumpsuit with a bright blue bib - could he be any more boyish? I agree, hes a pretty boy, that's for sure!
Best of luck with your DH. No matter how it's worded, getting it off your chest will make you feel a whole lot lighter. :hugs:

I LOVE the hair.
And Sam, I say it every time but he's soo cute.
If I were 20 years younger in 20 years haha..
Awwwww thanks for the nice comments ladies! stg, kepp away from my son! He, it could still happen though, you're not THAT far apart! I often think when I was born, DH was 5 years old... when I was 15, he was 20.... at some ages, the difference is nothing but other times...... it's massive.
Im often told Casey is too pretty to be a boy :cloud9:....Jake was the same.
I can see that too. It's their eyes - they're PRETTY!
I know I say it all the time, but gosh you girls can :ecomcity:!!!!!!!!! I've just read a million pages & of course forgot to multi quote, LOL.
My backs all better thanks. I think I just slept wrong. I really feel for people who put their backs out often, it's just horrible not being able to move.
My morning sickness is still yuck. Yes Ems I'm taking Maxalon & I find they help, but don't take it away completely. I :barf:for the 2nd time last night. It was yuck! I also find they make me feel fuzzy headed, did that happen to you?
c38 -Yes I love Chais's necklace too. Not sure if it works as he still has no teeth, but he's certainly teething & I haven't given him any panadol, which is the whole idea. He sometimes grabs it, but I just tuck it in his shirt. You'll prob be horrified with me, but I leave it on 24/7 & he's fine with it.
MOS -I LOVE your hair. If my face wasn't so fat I'd love to have short hair.
Loving all the new photos too. They are all looking so grown up now, not little babies anymore. :goodvibes:
sk6 -I agree with the others. I can't believe they act like that in YOUR house. I hope it goes OK.
Chais's routine sounds similar to others
6am ish- wake up & have losec & a bottle is then awake & plays till around 7.30am
7.30 has a nap till 8.30 when we have to take DD to school.
9.30am-10am ish has another bottle then about 20 mins later a jar of breakfast food.
10.30-11 ish goes down for a nap. Will sleep around 2-3 hours here.

DS graduated from preschool on Friday night. They were so cute in their caps & gowns.
It's not DD's birthday till January, but she wanted to see High School musical 3 at the movies so we went yesterday. Took 8 little girls. They were so good & the movie was great, they had a ball.
Well I think that's a big enough essay from me. I know I've forgotten half of my replies, so sorry. Hope you're all good
Awwwww thanks for the nice comments ladies! stg, kepp away from my son! He, it could still happen though, you're not THAT far apart! I often think when I was born, DH was 5 years old... when I was 15, he was 20.... at some ages, the difference is nothing but other times...... it's massive.
Yeah, did you see on sunrise this morning there's a 16 year old girl wanting to marry a 26 year old  I know when they're 30 & 40, 10 years is no big deal, but I'm sorry, IMO what can a 26 year old MAN, have in common with a 16 year old CHILD.
