 I just have to let out some negative feelings. I got my AF on Wednesday 10th, Day 27- no big surprise- roughly have been sitting on 27-28 for a few months. AF finished Tuesday, 16th May and I thought just to be sure I don't miss the "o-boat" - ovulation boat I would start testing with my FORTEL OPKit. I started testing as follows:
Thursday, Day 8 really faint
Friday, Day 9, very noticeable
Sat, Day 10, lighter than Day 8
Sun, Day 11 this am there, but faint
Sun, Day 11 this pm, no sign at all

So to me it looks like I ovulated on Day 9, which is so early, we only did the BD this morning, do you think if I did ovulate on Day 9 there is still a chance for this month?

I have been using these kits for about 4 months and although I haven't got pregnant it seems to work pretty well for me.

Thanks for listening, I was in tears this morning, those feelings of it's all to hard creep in so much.

Hi,
I have never had a problem with falling pregnant but when I was TTC a girl I had to watch my cycle.
If you BD 3 days either side of O Day you are still able to concieve.
That is what I was told, so heres hoping.
:fingerscrossed:
Hope to hear it worked.

Cheers Sarah, I have heard that to. But then my argument is that they say that their is such a short window of opportunity to conceive, roughly 12-24hours after BD, then how can the egg hang around for 3 days after to fertilize. I just wish I had a camera and could see inside!!!!!!!!:o

the egg can survive 48hrs after being released :fingerscrossed: you caught it if u did thus means you would be having a boy:thumbsup:

 What I forgot to add aswell. Upon waking this morning I had that pain in my left side, pretty sure it was the ovulation pain, and by lunch time it had gone. The chemist told me you get that pain after the egg has released, I thought you got the pain just prior to the egg releasing.

 Hi Lissylou,

This might not be what you want to hear, but from what I've read, your egg only lives for 12 to 24 hours ofter ovulation unless it's fertilised, whereas sperm live for 5-7 days. So as long as you bd'ed before o you should be right. :fingerscrossed: that you caught the egg!

Hi,
Yes I got my little girl, timing is everything.
I was told that the egg lives for 72 hrs but the outer lining of the egg gets tougher as time goes on so the sperm find it hard to penetrate.
This is why they suggest 24 hr after ovulation to BD.
I hope this was right, it seemed to work for me.

We tried the shettles method for a girl too, last BD was on a monday night and O was on a thursday. I was worried the little swimmers would be long gone by then but hey BFP this month:smiliedance:

Now we just have to wait and see if its a girl or a boy:detective:

Yes i do agree this method works but we had Artifical Insemination when we concieved dd and they do that day of ovulation but i know alot of ladies who have had success on it including my SIL

Well, this is a timely thread! Exactly what I'm going through this weekend!!

I was expecting to O on CD 12 (which is today) so was going to BD all weekend to stack the deck, so to speak. We BD'd on Friday (CD 10) and then the next morning my temp. had shot up! I was hoping maybe it was a thermometer malfunction or it would go down again, but today it's up another .2 degrees, so I'm pretty sure O day was CD 10 not 12 like I was expecting.

I'm a little peeved at myself - when I got pg the last time I was only charting half-assedly but in hindsight I remember that O was earlier than mid cycle. Stupid me.

Well hopefully BD on CD 8, 10 and 11 will do the trick! Boys2mama - your timing gives me hope!:fingerscrossed:

Now the TWW - I'm going to try to focus on work for the next while, since I can't start imagining symptoms until at least a week from now!:D
