What does everyone do with the toys that their children have passed up on for new ones? Especially with Christmas coming I am wondering what other people do. Oh, I have made it multiple so you can choose more than one..

We sell some & keep some for the other kids... we are also putting together a box of toys and books to take to the emergency department at our hospital... Miss five decided we needed to do this after a visit there saw her read all the books and play with everything after half an hour (we were there for nearly six hours).

normally i'd either try and sell them or give them to charity but we went through them and a lot are broken or missing bits and piece so it wasnt worth it and they all went into the bin.

every few months I clean out the toy box and take a few bags of toys down to St Vinnies.

Charity bin. Have a few friends expecting a baby soon though so will probably give them to them.

We either pass them along, put them away for next bubs or sell them at a garage sale.

Once DD is old enough and is finished playing with them; I will be giving all of our baby/toddler toys (and clothes) to my friends for their kids.
I have also put a number of DS's old toys in the charity bins, as well.

All of the above depending on the condition and cost to buy the item :)

I have kept ALL of DS's toys...they are ALL in his toy room, and he still plays with the majority of them.

His 'baby' toys were things like Peek-a-blocks, and the giraffe, hippo that goes with it, and things like that, so still a learning toy for him now at 3, which is how we set it up to be....

I know this may sound bad, but I couldnt donate them to a charity, when I have helped out at a charity shop, and the volunteers (that some actually have a lot of money but are old so dont want to work for pay) will take 'good' items, and put them away for themselves, OR there are also people who CAN afford things that charity shop to get a bargain...

If I was going to donate them, it would be directly to a family, that has been effected by loss of their home or something (depending on the circumstances)..

See I cant seem to have compassion for a family who loses everything to a house fire, caused by a 3 year old playing with matches or a lighter for example.... It's bad to some for me thinking this way I guess, but it infuriates me when this happens and the family cries poor me....

Just my opinion, dont hate me for having it...:D
