Hi All,

I want dd to make something for her dad for christmas with what we have at home rather than go out a buy something for him.

For fathers day i did go out and buy paint, textas and pencils because i did try and get her to paint something but it didn't turn out how i had expected it hence buying the textas and water colour pencils. There could be other things that we have and i just haven't thought about.

So what I am interested to know is what sort of things can she make and what i can do with her for everyday entertainment.

When I was in school I do remember painting and making a butterfly design by doing something with the paper, I can't remember if it was just folding it in half or something else. Has anyone else done that or similar design and could tell me.

Cheers
Shel

At 17 months they can't really 'make' much, other than scribbles and ripped paper :p luckily my dp thinks its all beautiful when my dd makes stuff anyway

Maybe get some paper and some stickers, let her try and stick them where she wants, a few scribbles of washable textas here, a few slaps of finger paint there and tada, a masterpeice :p

eta. the butterfly thing, get a large a3 or a2 sized bit of paper, and fold it in half. Unfold it again, and put some blobs of different coulored paints in the crease. Fold the paper again and smooth it out, spreading the paint, open again, and should have a pretty butterfly design, leave it to dry. Then maybe let your dd decorate that.

Hi *Amethyst*

Thanks for your reply. I do agree it generally is scribble and ripping of paper. That's what she did when i tried to get her to paint - she was only 14 months i think.

Re the butterfly - i knew there was a way, I just forgot. I might do that and get her to put some stickers that i have for scrapbooking ie behives etc and frame it. I will prob only use a smaller piece.

Thanks again.

Shel :)
