Hi. I need to have a couple of games up my sleeve for a Christmas party this weekend.

It's indoors in a hall, could be up to 40 kids and I'm looking for simple games that don't involve cost or making stuff, might be able to hand out lollies or something though. Oh ages are little though to 7 years, yeah bit of a wide age group!

I was thinking 'shipwreck' or whatever it's called where you call out directions and they have to do them and last one to do it is eliminated.

I forget all the stuff we used to do in Brownies and Guides!

Any ideas?

im thinking whats the time mr wolf
is simon says too childish? lol
What about a round of the hokey pokey?
Pig in mud?
Um, tag with the rags out the back pocket.. the last person standing wins?

Thanks..my daughter gave me some ideas too, Octopus (another tag game) Tunnel ball, over/under.

Worst thing will be the bubs will be in a corner of the room:no: arggh I think dinner on the way home (with a glass of red!) and panadol afterwards will help too.

Then I might be fine cos I will be laughing so much watching hubby be Santa..luckily he only has to say ho ho or the accent might give him away. Gonna take a few pillows to 'Santa him up' though!!!

knights, mounts and cavaliers.

the one where you keep eliminating one quarter of the hall until one kid wins. play music, stop the music, eveyone stops, spin a bottle in the middle and that quarter is out.

OMG Knight Mounts and Cavaliers! I haven't heard that one in Years (since I was a girl guide to be precise!)

What about shoelace tag - you tuck a shoelace into the top of each kids sock (one per kid) one person is up until they manage to stand on a shoelace then that person is also up and so on till there is one person left!

A treasure hunt! perhaps in pairs/teams to get the littlies involved!

I vaguely remember something about robing the nest that involved little beanbags and hulahoops!

those ball games that we all played at sports carnivals etc (tunnel ball, leaderball etc)
