I know this sounds weird, but I have some ebm that I had frozen and am in the middle of thawing, and I swear it had a blue tinge to it:confused: . To be honest, it definately has a blue tinge to it. Is this normal? The other bottles seem to be normal colour.

Yeah- totally normal- well- I remember when I had frozen EBM- or was expressing it always looked a bit blue. Nothing to worry about!;)
Believe it or not, breastmilk goes blue when baby is around 5 months old. Its yellow to start (colostrum) then creamy then bluey shade and almost transparent.
cheers Jen
oh glad someone else said that!! haha i also thought the same thing with my EBM!

haha glad u posted this as when i had dd my bm was a bluey green colour and my mum always used to say that it was because i drank too much lemonade. Now i can say thats not why it is blue that its normal lol.
Haha, yeah one day when I was visting at my old work I pulled out a bottle of EBM and my friend asked it was breastmilk and i said yes, and this old lady said "No its not! Its meant to be blue"! I thought there was something wrong with my milk (Doesnt matter now i'm giving him formula!).
