Hi,

I have an 8month old baby girl and the last 3 days or so she hasnt been eating hardly any solids and not as many bottles as usual.
I realise it might just be a stage she is going through and nothing to worry about, and she could just be cutting one of her bottles out. but i am thinking about starting her on "Penta-vite Liquid Multi-vitamins for Infants" or something similar. Just so I know she is getting nutrients and to put my mind at ease a bit too i guess.
I myself take a daily multi vitamin, and am heading to the shops later this week to buy myself some more and thought i might get some for DD too.

What are your thought on this?
Does anyone use a multi for your bub?

Thanks in advance for your replies! :)

DS was on pentavite for a year and a separate iron suplement, then I switched him to Incremin with iron.

I would strongly suggest that you speak to a GP or CHN before starting your bub on any sort of supplement, just in case.

DS was on them because he was 10 weeks premature and didnt have iron stores laid down etc.

I occasionally use a liquid multiv, Pentavite, for when dd is sick or when she hasn't eaten many vegies etc. for awhile. They come in citrus flavours and other flavours and they only need a teaspoon once a day (2.5ml I think)

I don't see any issue with it, helps babies/toddlers get everything they need when their diet may be lacking due to illness or fussyness.

IMO at that age, it's not necessary

All bubs go through spurts of guzzling and fasting.

So long as they're growing, pooping and peeing and keeping up liquids like BM or formula and maybe some water I'd be happy.

I started DD on Pentavite when she was 3 as she is an extreamly fussy eater.

:iagree:. Also babies tend to take their vitamin and mineral needs over a few days, whereas adults take their needs every day. I would not worry too much at that age.
