hi
my dd is 14 weeks and is bottle fed every 4 hours starting from approx 6am.
she sleeps between feeds from 1-3 hours , once I put her down she self settles ( after a grizzle) but then will ofton wake atfer an hour and wont re self settle.........any ideas? I have been doing the shush/pat thing for weeks and its still happening. sometimes it sends her to sleep sometimes not . especially not late afternoon.

problem number 2 is bedtime routine - she has now started to be a bit unsettle at 7pm when it is bedtime. We try to bath and feed b ut not always
how important have other mums found a strict bedtime routine ? and do u bath first or fed first? trouble is sometimes after the 5pm grizzles she is too tired to feed and bath properly...

any advice for either issue? and at what age do they pick up 'bad " habits and form good ones?

Not sure (I don't remember) but so they need a tiny bit of "play" time yet perhaps she is not quite sleepy yet and needs some stimulation before trying to go sleep.

With DD we always had a pretty strict routine of bath then BF then bed mainly jsut to get her in the routing for later on too (sometimes we'd skip the bath but always the feed and then bed) she also had one of those music things on the side of her cot too (it played music and had a light and bit of movement) she seemed to like it.

If I read your post properly, sleping for 1-3 hours between feeds seems really good! :yelclap:
I wish my daughter did that!! (she is 14 weeks too) I'm not sure how to extend day sleeps, apparently Tizzie Hall covers this in her book Save Our Sleep, but I havent read it. Other things I have read (ie: Baby Love by Robin Barker) say that it is very hard to change a baby's day sleep habits.
As for night time I do feed or bath in any order, if she is really hungry I will feed her first. If she's in the mood I will give her a quick massage with baby sorbolene and a quiet cuddle, then bed. Sometimes I have to go in and comfort her a few times but she usually falls asleep quite quickly. My baby is having a grumpy stage at the moment though so perhaps its just one of those things??
