Hi just a question I was wondering if anyone has had or knows much about the 4d u/s. I ask as I am going to the kidz expo and found out they are doing them there. I want to have one done but what is the dif between 3d and 4d???

Has anyone had one or know of someone who has?? I know it is new in Aus, I hope someone can help!!!

Hiya, the only difference I have found when seeing places that offer them (haven't had one) is that 4D is a VIDEO of a 3D. The fourth dimension is apparently the movement. Hope this helps :)

Hi!

I had a 3D scan a couple of months ago at the Mater Private Hospital and i had some 4D photos given to me also. They told me that a series of the 3D scans put together make the 4D image/video :) .

Hope this helps.

hi

i just had one yesterday! amazing. the image is in 3D, but they can do 4D as well, which is the 3D image moving in real time (the 4th dimension being time).
the place i went to did this and we got it on video, well worth the money

Hi there,

Not sure whether anyone watches Beyond Tomorrow - but they had this on last nights episode.

A 4D scan is a 3D scan and the 4 dimension is the time - real time movement.

Really interesting.

Hi all

I saw the 4d ultasounds on beyond tommorow too! brilliant!!!!

The kids were facinated by it, not much chance of me ever having one though, not out here in the sticks :(

yeah there aren't too many places around that you can have them yet, but i'm sure it's only a matter of time.
the technology is still so new (it must be if it's on a show like beyond tomorrow).
i was pretty impressed that was the same machine we had!
the doctor was pretty chuffed with himself too i might add! he keep mentioning the words "cutting egde technology", it made my hubby and i feel quite privilaged to have it done.
i mean we paid for it but it was totally worth the money, i'd definitely do it again next time if i got the chance.
incase you can't tell, i am still a bit excited about it ;)

Trix,
A friend of mine just got the 3d done, its on Henley Beach Road- i'm not sure of the name or the actual address. They may also do 4D. Somewhere to lookup is bensionradiology.com.au

Have a try.

The difference for us was that we got this amazing photo which looks more like a beautiful painting done by one of the masters.......Im not biased or anything the photo was awesome. We had it put on canvas and hung it in our hall with pride.

My avatar is one of the photos I got from my 4D scan, my bub had the umbilical cord covering his face in this one, but I did get two very clear shots of his face and feet:D

I loved the 4D scan and the video was great too, it cost me $190 (in sydney) and I got $85 back through medicare.

wow that sounds amazing - i sooo have to have one of those next time!
Does anyone have any info on where to get it done in Brisbane?
And also can you get a video of it every time and anywhere you get it done. Last time with our 3d scan we were dissapointed we couldn't get it on video!
Thank you

I had the 3d/4d scan done at fetal fotos a couple of weeks ago. I got the most basic package which cost $120....althought i have heard that they have since changed the prices. Anyway, for the basic package, you get half a dozen or so photos, and a dvd with 10-15 minutes of footage.
