Hi

I really like the name "Elena" for a girl, but I can not figure out which spelling is more common, "Ellena" or "Elena". I have search for the spelling on the net, and name books, but my results are inconclusive, which one do you think is correct, and is there any other way of spelling it that sound the same? Any help is appreciated

I picked Elena, thinking it was pronounced - EL - EN - A

But if you say it like - EL - Lane - A or even E - Lane - A, then maybe the other way.

I am thinking of pronouncing it as EL - EN - A, ( as in the same as pronouncaition as Zoro's wife in the movie)

I'd say Ellena for El-en-a
And Elena for E-lay-na

i would use Elena for pron.. EL-EN-A as i think Ellena would be pron.. EL-LEN-A..
But either way you spelt it people will just say it however they want anyway..lol
I know as my name is ALAINA and pron.. A-LAYN-A.. But i get all different variations when people see it..lol
Either way, it is a nice name..:)

I had a friend in high school called Alina (said A-leen-a) Maybe something like that would work? Unless i've totally got your pronunciation of it wrong....:o
