Hi,
What's the chances of getting thrush/candida with the cloth pads?

Ever since my second birth I've had thrush after every cycle. Even the chemical free ones from the supermarket give me thrush.

I've bought a very small stash but am yet to try them.

Thanks,

I'm not sure how pads could give you candida? Usually it is more a dietary or health imbalance within yourself?

I have only ever heard really good things about cloth pads and menstrual problems, hopefully they are helpful for you.

I've used clothies for a while now, and never had any problems...

Interesting question, I'm keen to learn more.

Sorry if this is TMI but I get a bit itchy after a few hours of disposable pads which I don't get with cloth. Try the cloth next period & see how it goes.

Hi,
my thrush isn't dietary related because I don't eat foods that cause it - I'm coeliac and hate sugar. And I have probiotics often.
The last gynae I saw said there is a world wide phenomenon now of thrush caused by bacterial reactions to chemicals and dyes and perfumes in mainstream sanitary pads. She said the only way to stop it is to cover yourself in a zinc cream - like a nappy rash/barrier cream - not pleasant!! and suggested I try the Natracare (is that the right name??) brand but it still happened.

I have finally had a thrush free month YEAH!! after using the cloth pads. Very happy!!
