Me and my partner already have one Beautiful boy who is 10 months,.We have decided that January 2009 will be when we start TTC for number 2.
Was just wondering who else is planning to fall pregnant in 2009? And when in 2009?

I'm planning to fall pregnant in 2009 we have been ttc for a year and am going in for ovarian drilling in December which will increase our chances for a 2009 bub.

I'll be joining that club! Have been TTC since Jan08 but have recently had both tubes removed so will be TTC via IVF starting Jan.... here's hoping it all goes ok:fingerscrossed:
wished I knew about dodgy tubes earlier as could have been on the right track sooner! oh well!

Hi girls!

I'm waiting til early 2009 before TTC and it's killing me

I'm 35, and DP is 36, we've been together 3 years next week and neither of us wanted kids until we changed our minds about 3 or 4 months ago. And of course now that I'm being forced to wait I'm super impatient.

I'd had a series of hip / femur / pelvis xrays around July, and was advised to wait at least 3 months before TTC, and then when I had pre-conception blood tests done I had no immumity to Rubella so I had a booster on 10th Oct and was told that I should absolutely NOT get PG for 3 months... grrrr!

My cycles are very irregular - 120, 38, 34, 52, 30, & 42 days, so I'm not sure whether I'll be o'ing in Jan or Feb :hair: but am really hoping that I ovulate smack bang on the 10th Jan or really close to :) I'm about to go read 'Natural Fertility' for hints on how to make my body ovulate quicker and to lengthen my luteal phase which is currently 10 days, have been taking B6 but no change yet. Think I'm ovulating now, so am :fingerscrossed: for 11 or 12 day luteal phase this time round.

I try not to think about TTC too much but it's pretty hard. Especially when I'm o'ing and every hormonal cell in my body is screaming for me to jump DP and make babies already!

Maybe we can keep each other sane during our million week wait. I do feel pretty fortunate that the wait happens to be over the festive season though, lots of nice distractions.

Good luck everyone, I'm sure 2009 will be a wonderful year for all of us

yep another one here. I have one DD who is 1 and hoping to start in Jan! Looking forward to seeing a Jan testing thread posted. Good luck to all the Dec TTCers. Although this process can be a bit of a agonising one, it does provide some excitement. I am making a bulk order of opks and hpts in the next fortnight from fertilityfriend.

i have only used opks the one time and that's when i got pg. Last time we had 4 months of trying.

HOORAY! looking forward to getting xmas out of the way:eek:

Hello fellow ttcvers!!

After much deliberation and me having a complete change of heart since saying I was having absolutely no more children after DD2 we will be TTC #3 early next year!!

I swore I didn't want anymore children after having my 2nd daughter but only a month or 2 ago had a sudden change of heart which has only become stronger! It took a little convincing with DH but he's come round so we just want to get this busy time of year out of the way then we can concentrate on making our next little munchkin!

I'm also a student doula at the moment and I attended my first birth on sat just gone and I thought "this is going to make or break me wanting another child" and it had certainly made me want one even more!!

Good luck girls and I look forward to seeing you all in 2009 with you BFP :bfp:!! :smiliedance:

Hi ladies  may I join this thread too? DH and I have 1 DS who is 14 months old and we're about to celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary in March :valentine:. DH is 29, I'm 27. We were going to start ttc bub #2 in Jan 09 but considering DS was a fairly difficult refluxy bub and has really only started slepeing through the night, I want to wait until about April 09 to start ttc again. DS will then be 18 mths old adn then our ealiest possible due date will be Jan 2010 which would make DS 2yrs 3mths old. DH would still love to start ttc in Jan but I'm standing strong that April is our mth lol! We'll see how we go and whether or not I relent in the coming few mths  Some other easons for wanting to wait are: I'd like our babies to have different birthday mths (DS is Oct, so makes Jan a no-no), not too keen on a Dec bub as DH and I both have Dec birthdays and along with Xmas, it's a busy time of year already....so Jan onwards would be perfect!

Look forward to getting to know some you lovely ladies over the coming months! Hope everyone has had a great :xmas:

Hi everyone,

My husband and I are looking at starting TTC in June this year. We have been together 10yrs and married 18mths.
There are a few reasons we have not tried thus far. The biggest reason being DH had to come around to the idea. DH is 31 and I am 30 and he was not sure about the whole baby thing really. The other reason for waiting is i only finished my degree 2 yrs ago and have as yet not go permanancy in my psotion at work so no maternity leave. This is due to change about April this year. So June is about the earliest TTC date and still get all my mat leave. Fingers crossed he does not change his mind in the mean time :).

I look forward to hearing all your stories and good luck with your journeys.

I'll add myself to the list, ds is 9 months old and I'm starting to feel clucky. Probably start trying around may/june. Took 12 months to fall with DS, so keeping an open mind.

Just wondering how many of you are starting or have been charting cycles?

I have been off the pill for 7 months now trying to give my body a break after being on some sort of contraception for 10 years.

I have been charting when AF comes and that is about it.

Hi

We have an 8 month old son and have decided that the age gap now is perfect.

I have been off the pill since Boxing day (not long but you never know).
We are going to take it all pretty cruisy and just see what happens.

The less pressure the better

Good luck to everybody else!!!

Thanks Gem23, that's a great site.

I've been off the pill for a while, since August 07, but we've only just started TTC. We should know in a couple of weeks if our first attempt is successful, but i have to admit that i'm a bit naieve to it all, i haven't charted or anything, but am pretty regular (I suppose being on the pill for 13 odd years regulated me somewhat). :)

We are just going to see what happens, i'll try to pay closer attention to my body though because i think that's important.

Happy New Year everyone.

Hi all

I've just received the OK to TTC after being monitored for CIN2 which has thankfully regressed.

I have an almost 3 DD and gave birth to a little boy last March. Unfortunately we lost him to CHD and I have waited till I was emotionally ready as well as medically ready to try again so here I am. Although I am excited and hopeful of a BFP, I'm also nervous that a) I will fall pregnant as I am in my late thirties and b) scared that something may go wrong. Chances of having another baby with CHD are very, very low but still, its a worry nonetheless. But I desperately want another child so :fingerscrossed:!

Am hoping we all fall pregnant this month!!

Hi everyone and happy new year.
Spludgie and TeenyT I was sorry to read of your losses in 2008.
I hope 2009 is all that everyone wishes and so much more.

I was diagnosed 8yrs ago with polycystic ovaries and am nervous it is going to take a while to get pregnant. I want to be pregnant by september but can't convince my DH it TTC earlier than May.

This is my first post so excuse me if I'm a bit nervous or I get my acronyms wrong!;)

Firstly, I just want to say how amazing this forum is. We've been TTC for a few weeks now and I've been fanatically reading these posts and have gained such a wealth of knowledge. I don't think I had realised how much of a 'secret life' TTC was - I can't even talk to my best friend about this, so this thread has been like my personal confidante... so...thanks. :)

Anyway...back to why I'm here.... DH and I have been together to 10 years, married for 3 and we both decided that now is the time to start our family. So, I've been trying to set up the 'perfect' situation whereby we'll fall pregant straight away and I can breezily annouce that we got a BFP straight away.....(yep I'm such a naive rookie...)

So I've been charting, OPK'ing, checking CM, taking my Elevit, avoiding alcohol (on NYE!) etc

On friday (CD16) I got my first + OPK:yelclap: and annouced to DH that we were in for a big weekend of BD'ing. It all started out well, we BD'ed twice on friday night, and once on saturday morning but then for the rest of the weekend , DH couldn't come to the party IYKWIM! He said he was too tired, didn't feel well etc. When I asked him a bit more about it, he said that he felt too much pressure.:o He said that he'd spent 15 years trying to avoid pregnancy and now that we'd started TTC he felt like a 'performing monkey'!. I didn't know whether to laugh, cry or scream:confused:

We normally have a fantastic sex life - usually can't get enough, and now in the window when it counts, he can't do it. This has never happened before.

So, to my wise friends out there in TTC cyberland, how do you avoid putting too much pressure on your DH/DP but manage to get them to step up the plate when it counts??

and secondly what are my chances of falling pregnant this month?

:flowerz:Thanks

puppiesmum

Hi Cosimum

This is only my second month of TTC so I'm pretty new to this aswell. On our first month of trying DP was so sick that we didn't BD at all till the morning after I got my + OPK. We BD that morning and that night and tried again the next morning and  it wasn't happening. Poor DP, I think it was just a shock to his system after not DTD for so long. He normally wouldn't have any troubles. I think if they are not used to DTD so often then the sperm build up as much  could be wrong. I haven't had any problems yet with it becoming all about making a baby but just incase DP gets sick of it (I doubt it) I've bought a few sets of sexy undies to keep him happy .

I'm not sure what the chances are I think something like 20% per cycle.

Good luck to everyone TTC in 2009 :babydust2: :babydust2: :fingerscrossed:

Thanks Cosimum and Puppiesmum for the insight. I have spoken to my DH about this issue as we have had several friends have trouble TTC and after years of the pressure every month they had been getting so frustrated and feeling the pressure it was affecting thier relationship. My DH said for the first little while of TTC he did not want to know when I was o'ing and wanted to take things natuarlly for a while.
I am however, charting my cycles and would be trying to make things happen on the right days.
I think after watching our friends go through such an emotional rollercoaster he wants to avoid this as much as possible.

Cosimum
05-01-2009, 11:04
Thanks Gem23 and Puppiesmum - great advice from you both. I think I'll keep my charting to myself and bring out the sexy undies when I've got my +OPK.....that should work!

I have been off the pill for 7 months now trying to give my body a break after being on some sort of contraception for 10 years.

I have been charting when AF comes and that is about it.

Hey gem23, I keep a record of when AF arrives, we have a 13mth old & when AF returned about 4 months after having him I have kept a record (I also kept a record while we were TTC him). I also mark on the Calendar when I feel like I'm Ovulating as I get the pains & I've only recently started paying attention to the CM Consistancy to figure out my most fertile days, so I'm hoping with all this info that we will have conceived this month on our 1st attempt at TTC#2 :fingerscrossed:. I had also been on the pill for 10+ years & DH had a Vascectomy Reversal 3 years ago. Good Luck with TTC :babydust2:.

I know I have five months befor TTC but I hope to have things working as well as I can for then.

Totally differnt subject. I have been picking up jumpsuits and socks etc when on sale and putting them in a box under the house. Is this crazy? Has anyone else been doing this?

Hi All

I'd love to join you too, if I may ... we are currently living in London but planning on coming back to Oz this year, we are planning on starting TTC #1 in June ... it's very exciting to be able to think "this year I might be pregnant" ... but as soon many girls on here have said, it's easy to be naieve until the journey begins :)

Wishing you all a great 2009 and hoping that 2009 is a great year for use TTC-ers!

Louisa79
08-01-2009, 19:55
Well i'm glad i'm not the only one buying little socks and jumpsuits!! I've got a large plastic box & drawer full of bits and pieces i've been collecting for the past year or so. Even though we've only just starting TTC#1 I've wanted to be a mum for so long every now and then when a sale is on i'll pick up a few things in preparation.

Interestingly, i've been off the pill for about 18 months now (after being on it for 15 years or so) and now that we are TTC my last 2 cycles have been getting longer. I'm definitely going to have to pay more attention and start charting properly because now i think we've missed out for January

Anyway, my DH is happy about the opportunity for way more BD. I'm really looking forward to getting to know of you in this thread and am wishing lots of :bfp: for all of us.

I too am going to start TTC in June this year. I have been off the pill since the beginning of December and have just finished my second cycle off the pill. Both have been smack on 28 days so here's hoping they stay like that until we get a BFP. I have had my blood tests etc and the Dr told me I am ready for it but recommends a Pap Smear before we start as I will be due for one if we don't too long to conceive. I am going for that in a few weeks.I also have to upgrade our private health cover at the end of this month. When is everyone going to start taking their folate or vitamins etc?

Just had the naughty af arrive at our place...not happy. :(

2008 saw us let mother nature take its course, but she didn't, so think we'd better take over in 2009!

From what I've heard/read Maybe Baby is a tester you can use to see the level of oestrogen in your saliva so you know when it's time to conceive.

I know others may chart temperature or use other forms to see when they are ovulating. I'd love to hear what people are doing and what has worked.....

Thanks :bee:

Hi all!

I am so very very excited to be able to join this thread!!!
After putting it back quite a few times, we have finally decided to start TTC in May :D:D:D

One question... I went to my Doctor about 6 months ago (just before we were originally going to start) and I was talking about everything with her, I asked if I needed to have a blood test (as I'd heard it mentioned on here quite a few times before) and she said it wasn't necessary... Are there other people who haven't had one? I'm kind of freaking out about it...

Hope everyone has lots of successes!!! Looking forward to sharing it all :)

Nope, I haven't had any bloods done. I didn't prior to conceiving my first bub either. I am taking a pre-preg multi-vitamin but that is about it. I should probably go for a general check-up now that you mentioned it :o

Hi all,

Anyone used that tester "Maybe Baby"? What is it like? Heard of anytone having success using it? Or can you recommend something else?

Thanks so much.

Hi Chrissie78,
Yes I have a "Maybe Baby" & it's great, I have a 13.5 month old Baby Boy :yelclap: & I've just starting TTC Baby #2 using the "Maybe Baby" & keeping track of my cycle on the calendar. My best friend has a 3 year old DD & her Baby#2 will be arriving in a few weeks on 2/2/09 & she used her "Maybe Baby" while she was TTC.
Have you seen one? They are the size of a lipstick & cost around $85 from the Chemist, worth it if you're not sure when you Ovulate or if your cycle is not text book. After you slide the cap off one end has a lense that you lick first thing in the morning before you eat anything, you leave it to dry for about 10 minutes & the bottom end has a button which is a light to shine up through the lens at the other end...you look down through the lens end into the light & adjust the lens (just by twisting it around to suit your eyesight) & you can either see lots of dots which means you are not Ovulating or you can see Fern Patterns which means you are Ovulating.
It's very clear & easy to use, just make sure you place your eye up close to look down the lens & press the button to turn the light on at the same time. Once you've seen the results wipe the lens clean & it's ready to use again. It's a great invention.

Thanks Icky78 that makes me feel a lot better :)

And MummyStar thanks for the great description of Maybe baby.. I hadn't really heard of it before but it is something I'm interested in now as I'm pretty clueless as to my cylces and stuff and it sounds like a pretty stress free way to be testing... I don't want to get too 'in depth' to start off with as I think it will just stress me out if I'm doing everything right and nothing's happening!

Hi Yioette

I had a blood test to make sure I am immunised againt rubella. You need to wait a little while to TTC after getting the injections is all.

Sassy30
11-01-2009, 10:58
You should have a blood test to confirm that you are immune to rubella and chicken pox as you can't get the vaccine when you are pregnant and it is very dangerous if you get either disease when you are pregnant. It is best to also get a pap smear done before TTC if you are due for one during the pregnancy because it can be very uncomfortable to get one while you are pregnant.

Hi Ladies,

I'd love to join this thread too!

DH & I are both 27, have been together for 8.5 years, married for 2 years and have been TTC since October.

It hasn't meant to be yet - but I'm sure hoping it will be our time soon!

I've been to the Dr before TTC and had my blood tests. Everything came back good so no concerns there. I'm only taking Folic Acid tablets as my Dr said there was no need to take Blackmores or Elevit. My 2 Middie friends also said this so I'm sticking to only taking the Folic Acid tabs. Has anyone else heard this too?

I have irregular cycles and have only had one AF visit since Oct (that was a CD49 one!) So far I'm getting close to that point yet again, but this time I've got all my fingers and toes crossed for a :bfp:!!!

I wish you all an amazing amount of :babydust2:

Good Luck Ladies!

Just wondering how many of you are starting or have been charting cycles?quote]

I'm not doing charting because I believe it will happen when it's meant to be. Also, it is early days (so to say) for us so I have lots of hope running thru my body still, mixed in with a lot of faith! :D

Not at all! Here we have 1 private hosp, 1 public & one birth centre. We have private health insurance but I'm wanting a natural water birth where I'm in control. I've found out that as soon as I know I'm pregnant, I have to book in. So if I were you, I'd definately find the one you want the most & then have a back up just in case. Good Luck hon!

Ive been doing a bit of reading about this "Maybe Baby" thingy .. how simple does it look to use ? ... I think even I will be able to understand it !! lol

I have wasted so much money on those OPKs and have trouble reading them . The test line is always the same as the control line . I think at times I only imagine one line to be darker than the other . hehehe

We have been charting my cycles for 5 years . They range in length from 26 days to 29 days . I think I will have to grab a Maybe Baby !

I had a quick squiz on eBay ... $24.95 !! hmmm ... are they the real deal though ???

AF arrived yesterday :( :(
Bit sad today . Today is Katelyns EDD .

We have been TTC #1 since October 2008 & hoping for a :bfp: this year......ASAP :fingerscrossed: I'm 32 so my biological clock has really started to tick. We've been married for 12 years & I've been on OCP for almost the whole time so my cycles are still all over the place. I'm not charting cause we feel this could put too much stress on us - we very much believe in 'whatever is meant to be will be' (although I was quite down when AF arrived 1st Jan 09!) I've done the Dr visit & all BT's are normal. I'm taking Folic Acid, Zinc & DH is taking Zinc as well (after reading The Natural Way to Better Babies). Good Luck & I sprinkle:babydust2: to you all!

It's hard to know when you're buying something off E-Bay hey! Hopefully someone else has one and can tell you whether it was a real one!

I have a question, I booked in to get my Cervical Cancer Vaccine on Thursday-which is my first one and only just realised that I probably won't be able to have the others if I fall pregnant. Does anyone know if this is the case? I know they're spread out over 6 or 9 months and we're hoping to be pregnant in 5 or 6....

Thanks!

Hey guys :yelclap:
Me and my DH are planning on ttc from may, which I am finding it very hard to be patient until then.
I came off the pill in July 08 and have had very irregular cycles, so I am going to look at using a maybe baby as I have 2 friends who found it successful. I am also going to try chinese herbs and accupuncture to regulate my cycles.
Yoette in answer to your question, the cervical cancer vaccine can't be given if you are pregnant. I think you have to wait 3 months after the last injection to ttc (if you want to start the course).

Goodluck to all and I hope we all get our bfp's this year YAH!!!! :babydust2::wizard:

Thanks for your help Sehan.

I had a look on the website of the vaccine, and it mentioned you shouldn't have it while pregnant although there is no official proof as to it harming the baby. Obviously I am not going to have it while pregnant but I do need to check if there is a wait after having the last injection. I will ask my Doctor tomorrow as I was already booked in to have it before I thought about this, and I am also going to request those blood tests I previously asked about. I think it's better to be safe than sorry!

I reeeeally hope this year is amazing for us all:):):)

Hi!

Hubby and I have been TTC since the beginning of November 08, it's not that long but it does feel like a long time..:o

Praying for an '09 baby...

I'm just taking Folate tablets, and doing regular exercises to keep the body fit (well, trying anyway! haha).

Good luck everyone!!

My Hubby and I have been TTC#1 since end of Nov 2008. :fingerscrossed: for bub in 2009. Was on the pill for 8 years and my cycles are mental. Also found out that I have a fibroid (apparently strange for someone of 28yrs - just my luck!). Have been taking folate since beginning of Nov and waiting for results of my bt to see if I need rubella or chickenpox needles. I hope not because I don't think that I can wait much longer. I am driving my poor hubby NUTS!! :hair:

I'm only taking Folic Acid tablets as my Dr said there was no need to take Blackmores or Elevit. My 2 Middie friends also said this so I'm sticking to only taking the Folic Acid tabs. Has anyone else heard this too?

I will only be taking Folic Acid also. This was all I took with DS and heard the same from by Obs.

DH and I will be TTC in May, June this year so a while to go yet. Good luck to all those trying now and over the coming months.

That's what we were looking into at the moment and we really want to go Private because I have a friend who said it was the best thing she could have done! The only thing we're not sure about is the 12 month wait thing.. if we have it for a few months then get pregnant if we can't use any maternity things for 12 months or how that works...

You can check with the private health that you go through If they can waver the 12 month wait. Sometimes they do it if you have like only 3 month left or something. Priavte health dosn't really matter untill you are in hospital. All the consults are still claimed through Medicare.

I would try and join one now though.

I agree with splishnsplash. If you want to go private, then sign up now as you'll probably need to wait 12 months before you can claim. You can get pregnant within this 12 months, but can't claim the delivery if it falls within this time.

This might mean that you might want to avoid TTC for at least 3 months otherwise you will be due too early. When DH and I upgraded our cover to include pregnancy last May, we were also told to wait about 6months before as if you have a preterm bub they won't be covered either.

I've heard that most health insurance companies are very very reluctant to waive the 12month wait .....good luck!:flowerz:

Hello everyone!!

I too would also like to really join this thread :)
I had a m/c mid-last year and, in the past few months, have slowly counted the days by throughout the tww!! Stressful!!

I thought that this was my month but.....maybe confused AF symptoms with (what I thought to be) my pregnancy symptoms :crying: ......not to worry. obviously wasn't meant to be and it will all happen when it is meant to!!

It seems that everyone I know is pregnant atm.......the ladies at the shops are all pushing prams, every department store is having a baby sale and the invites to everyone's elses baby showers/1st birthdays etc are piling up on my fridge!! I told one of my friends yesterday that I must be destined to have a SUPER talented baby and my body is rejecting every sperm that does not 'meet the critera'!!..... if I don't make jokes (even sarcastic ones) the pressure will become so high that ttc won't be any fun at all......would like DP and I to still enjoy the journey and not resent it....or each other....

Here's hoping that we all find the magic in 2009 and have a beautiful baby bump (or better still A BABY) by Christmas :) .....I just hope that I find that 'super talented' sperm soon

As was mentioned by somebody in an earlier post, ttc cannot be discussed with my friends (as they are nowhere near there or way past it) and, I am hesitant to talk about it with others because it doesn't seem of interest to them (and if I m/c again, I don't want to have to go through the scenario of telling everybody again; I have decided this time that I will keep it to myself until I am certain all is ok). Am glad to be part of this thread so that I can share the journey with somebody who understands and will listen and share advice along the way. It is what we all need.....a friend!!

Looking forward to sharing this journey with you all.

Hi all Hope you are all having a good day.

welcome Lioness, i know what you mean about the pregnant woman/baby conspiracy everywhere you turn they are there taunting you.
I found this very hard to deal with last year as most of my close girlfriends were falling pregnant some even by accident. i got to a point where i said to myself you do not have to go to a baby shower if you don't want to etc. i realised i had to do what felt right for me and not what i though i should do for someone else. This surprised some friends when i said i couldn't make it to their birthday party or shower but unless they asked why, i didn't offer an explantion, because it wasn't any of their business, when i did explain it i just said i had had to look after me and being in a room thats all about babies was not a place i needed to be, they were fine and understood, and at the end of the day if they don't understand then they are not the people you need in your corner.

Good luck on your Journey in 2009 and i hope we all have BFP by Christmas

Hi and welcome Lioness83! Sorry to hear about your m/c last year :hugs:

I am a bit the same with the not talking about TTC! I have told 2 of my closest friends that we are starting in May and they are incredibly excited for us, but for others that ask or I'm close to I just say this year-sooner rather than later.
I struggle with a best friend who has no enthusiasm whatsoever and says some things that hurt my feelings and knock me down sometimes! So I'm steering clear of her for a while!
I think this forum will be fabulous for us to share our highs and lows and talk about things we can't talk about with others!

Oh, I have a silly question.. Do you keep taking the Folic acid tablets while you're pregnant? :o

Hi ladies, so sorry i have not been back in since my first post, there is just no excuse.

Well im now in my second cycle of ttc and it has been put on hold, because as some may know, if i concieve this cycle the baby will be due a week or so after my sisters wedding, and she has asked me NOT to be due around her wedding date.

My last af was on dec 31, i usually have 31 day cycles, Oing aroind cd19, well this cycle, i am now cd23, have not oed, well not that im aware of and yesterday started spotting, af is never early, if anything its late.
So thinking its af early it could also be implantation, as we did dtd on cd4 as af was light and again cd8, before the decission to hold off on this cycle made.

So atm, i have no idea what is going, but if it is af, im so looking forward to getting back in the ttc game. Then if it is a pregnancy, oh well yay for me, but i know my sister will be mad, but i did try to not concieve.

Hi there mumtofive!

Any news?

I'm sure your sister will understand although she might be a bit funny for a while! I went to a friends wedding and she had a pregnant lady as a bridesmaid (probably about 6 or so months along) and I think she looked beautiful! She really glowed :)

Hi there, no more news yet, hpt yesterday was neg, but no more spotting today either, i dont feel pregnant though and i still have cramps, i suppose that is news.

I was wondering though, as af is normally 31 days i started taking pregnancy multi vitamins about 4 days ago, could that maybe regulate my cycle, and bring af on early?

I'm not 100% sure about that but it wouldn't surprise me if it did effect your cycles a bit. I guess that's all part of making conceiving a baby more likely and it's pretty coiincidental that the changes started at the same time.

Can I just say that I really love your childrens names!!! Especially Emmerson and Hunter! Gorgeous :)

Emmenrson is one of my absolute favourite names but we know someone with that last name who we had a falling out with so it's kinda a no-goer. It doesn't really go with our last name... Hunter is also in my top 3 boys names :D

Question: What would happen if you or DH chose a name that the other didn't like? Would you disagree or is that just the way it goes?

Ha its funny that you should ask that, Grace is the only name that we both agreed on, although i wanted her to be a Lilly.
But i let him have his choice, when number 2 came along he wanted cane, but i did not really like that name, i had a dream that his name was Hunter so hubby although does not like it let me have it, so #3 a girl, and his turn to pick, he wanted Bailey, but i saw it more as a boys name, i used to work in childcare, so saw many baileys, i agreed on the name if i coukd change the spelling, so she became Bailea.
Then #4 was another girl, and hubby wanted imogen, but although a pretty name just did not sit with me, i found Emmerson and it just stuck, it almost became charlotte, but i was just so taken with it, she gets Emme as a nick name, so on to #5 another boy and hubbys pick his only choice cane, so i agreed as he had held on to it for so long, so i said if i could change the spelling he could have it so he became Kainne.
We just compromised i think, and we took turns, we never know if the next baby is going to be the last, so i want a name that i love.

Well hubby has his choices, but i am still at a loss, and its my turn, hubby still has to say ok, even if he is not 100% happy with it, all i need is an ok.
His choices are for a boy Malakai and Seth and for a girl he still has Imogen and Tennasee (sp?), I do like Seth so i put it on my list, but i would rather keep that for #7 cause thats hubbys choice, and now Imogen clashes with Emmerson, so thtas definatly out.

So im still searching for that peftect name, that just screams at me, PICK ME!

She went over all of my recent blood tests etc when I told her we want to start TTC in June. So fine with Rubella, Chicken Pox, updated Pap Smear, I am 0- blood so she went through the needles I would have to have during pregnancy and if any spotting, will start taking Elevit in March, will upgrade Private Health in February but she said the FH and I will need to get a whooping cough vaccination if we haven't had one recently. Has anyone else's Dr said to do this before TTC? Apparantly there are cases of whooping cough going around atm...???

Yes whooping cough is going around at the moment. they suggest anyone around babies and young child have a booster including grandparents. You prob had one when you were little but they say they wear off. I work in a doctors surgery and the doctor there suggested I get one. Don't know about getting one before TTC not sure if there is a waiting time after getting it before they suggest TTC.

Hi Sassy30, I went to my Doctor in November before TTC in January & she works in a Women's Clinic. I had the Whooping Cough Booster & she said that I should wait one full cycle until TTC & DH also had his Whooping Cough Booster the following week so we waited until January to TTC - I was keen to start TTC in December but I listened to her & waited until January 1st & WE'RE HAVING A BABY!!!
When DS was a new born the Health Nurse advised us to get the Whooping Cough Vac but at the time we had that many other appts. to go to that we didn't do it - which was very naughty of us on reflection. We went before TTC this time after seeing a case of Whooping Cough on the news & from memory I think that the baby was in hospital for 3 months - I'm not 100% sure on exact length of time.

My best friends baby is due on Monday & her DH just had his Whooping Cough Vac & she'll have hers after their baby is born...I'm not sure what they suggest to do if you're BF.

When are you planning on TTC?

I am sooooooooo excited as we were talking about June to start TTC, but DH and I went away for the weekend and had a great chat and have decided that once AF comes, then it's time to come off the Pill  ... oh my goodness! We are very excited to be starting this next chapter - this will be #1 for us.

Thanks Clarierose, I'm so Excited!!! Bubby is due on the 30th September, there will be a 22mth age gap between DS & our new Baby..I was hoping for a 2 year age gap so it's perfect. After your talk with DH does that mean that you're going to start trying straight away instead of June :yelclap:. YAY!!!

Wow - how amazing that THIS YEAR you're having a baby ... end of September sounds a good time to have a baby - it won't be too hot while you are pregnant ... although I guess any time is a good time, right?! Hoping you have a great 9 months!

Yep, I have 1 week left of the pill, AF, and then we are officially TTC!! Very excited to see that the "March Testing" thread has started up ... going to go and sign up now :smiliedance: ... oh dear, getting way too excited already!

Well I have been paying close attention on my cycles for the last two months and today CM was egg white. I bought Maybe Baby the other day to have ready for June when we start TTC and thought I would give it a go. It came back fertile tonight- yay! Not that we are ready atm but at least I know the two main signs are there and that all appears ok. Just thought I would share my excitement

Hi All - can I join in? We will be trying for 2# in the next few months. DD1 is almost 10 months and I want to start trying now but DH says he wants to wait so I am working on him... we fell first time with DD1 so hoping we are as lucky this time round although AF is still a little irregular so may not be as easy...Good luck everyone :)

HI Ladies  - May I join too?
I am joined to another wonderful TTC thread as well but if there were 50 I would probably join them all.
My name is Leesha and my DH and I have been married for nearly 4 years together for almost 8. We are very happy still just a little older, we have done all the right steps (married, mortgage etc) and now we have decided to try for our first little one (in May anyway) I have wanted this for 7 of the 8 years we have been together! So I just wanted to give you my info so you know a little about me. Also I have a blood clotting disorder which has been a factor in not trying any earlier but we have a specialist appointment at the end of Feb to get all details and directions and then in may it is baby making time. We are not really telling anyone yet as i have a smallish risk of miscarriage because of the blood thing so I think I will have to wait until I am 12 weeks pregnant before we tell everyone, I am not sure if i can do that because i will want to announce it from the roof top! anyway i will stop rambling :ecomcity: and i hope to see loads of :bfp: for eneryone very soon.

Hi, can I join here too?

A bit about me. I'm 26 dp is 27 and we have been together 9 years this year. We have a gorgeous little boy who is 15 months old and three fur babies (2 staffies and a persian cat)

I've been posting on another forum but there wasn't really a topic like this one there and now I've discovered this site it'sgreat! I've been reading for a little while now and decided I need to post. We are hopefully ttc baby #2 this year but not until around August because I need an op this year and we are waiting to see when it will be. Hopefully sooner rather than later! All I can think about is another baby atm and it's driving me and dp nuts so I need an outlet! Sorry if I went on a bit it's just nice to get it out! Nobody else except dp knows how clucky i am.

Hi ladies!!
Hope that everyone TTC is getting the results that they want!!
My TTC plans have had to be postponed :crying: as my cycle has suddenly become 'irregular'.....since I first had AF my cycle has been regular but, for the last few months, my cycle has been a little haywire and I am unsure as to why!! ......I am onto day 32 and still no AF (I know that there was no chance of concieving this month as DP was not here!!)....

Does anybody have any ideas that my calm me as to why my cycle has suddenly 'changed'!? Somebody mentioned to me that taking pregnancy vitamins (Elevit) can cause an imbalance in the cycle after taking it for a few months and not being pregnant?? Is this true??

Sorry for the extended TMI spiel.....Just a little concerned as this has never happened before.

Thanks :) :fingerscrossed: :)

Leeshadrain hope your blood clotting is not to bad and that we you get pregnant baby will be ok.

Hi are you stressed?? sounds like you might be stressed which is a cause for irregular cycles. Have you lost weight this is also a cause, not sure about the elevit though as i have never taken anything apart from folic which is all you need.

Another thing have you got low iron?

Hope some of that helps.

Hi Kitty K,
Looks like you are PREGNANT!!:smiliedance:

As far as I know, it is quite rare to get a false positive, and it is definitely possible to get a positive before your period is due.

Congratulations! :D

Hi Leesha,
Just went back and read your earlier posts.
Do you mind me asking what blood disorder you have?
I too have a blood disorder which makes things a little risky. I have essential thrombocythemia.
:detective: Is a strange one as far as conditions go as not alot of doctors know the in's and out's of it. Cannot be caught or passed on, is not heriditory so many drs do not bother knowing more ( or at least that is what my GP tells me). Really need to see a hematologist for more info and that is who looks after me!!!.
Remember it is possible to get through a pg with these disorders. I have a happy and healthy 4 year old son.
Good luck with you TTC journey !!!

Hi Again
I have Factor V Leiden, not so rare apparently more common then thought, It is a hereditary gene passed to women men carry but women carry and have effects. I had a clot when I was 19 so the risk is a bit higher then if i didn't have one to begin with. I am positive about the whole thing but I do have to have a needle everyday and they are ouchy . I will see the haemotologist next tuesday to make sure I have all the info before we start trying. For now I will just concentrate on getting more healthy and getting pregnant! (woohoo) Thanks for your support it is nice to know i am not the only one with dramas :)

Hi ladies,

KittyK - just wanted to say congratulations and make sure you come back to let us know how you went at the docs

Splish n Splash - thanks for the welcome! You were brave moving interstate and getting set up all over with a 9 month old! I hate moving!

Jaydeesmum - sorry to hear about your angel. I hope you get your BFP real soon.

Lioness - hope your cycles get regular again soon. Mine can be irregular but I think it's due mainly to my thyroid (hypothyroidism). Maybe get a bloodtest to rule that sort of thing out?

Hello to Leeshadrian, Ali, Beck, Mroink, CK2B and anyone else I forgot. Look forward to chatting to you all

Hi ladies,

I have not visited in a while. Lots been happening I see.
I am trying to hold off taking a pregnancy test for another 4 days which is when I am due. I have no af symptoms and have headaches, nausea and am really tired. My mind is probably playing tricks on me.

I do not want to test too early but I have never been good with suprises!

Hi Guys,
Been very slack getting back here. So very busy. Saw our OB on sat who did a scan and all was gone from before and looking great !!!
So... His advice was to go home and ttc this month !!! So we are on the go in about 2 months. Fingers crossed though I am expecting it to take a few months. So not getting my hopes too high.
He also told me I was fine to stay on asprin for all my preg up until 36 weeks. Has anyone else got any experience with staying on low does asprin in early preg?
Good luck to everyone !!!
Cheers

I was cooking tea last night and felt quite :barf: , so took a HPT .
Wasnt expecting much as I am only CD22 .

Saw the Control line apper ... Dark as anything ... nothing else . A couple of minutes later I saw a very feint second line . Had to blink a few times as I thought I was seeing things because I was tired . But definitly a :bfp: !

Showed hubby who says I am imagining it !
I showed DS1 , who straight away says there is 2 lines

So anyway .. fingers crossed that all goes well . Am only about 3 weeks and 2 days though ! lol

I think I will take another HPT in a couple of days to see if the lines get darker .

All the best to everyone :babydust2:

I know this is probably so silly and stupid to most of you out there, especially those that have been trying for so long, and I honestly didnt' think I would be one of the lucky ones to not fall first month, but first month has come and gone off the pill and got my period smack on 28 days.

Its silly to be so dissapointed and upset about not falling first month I know, but of course I am.

I guess I can look on the bright side and say well at least it seems as though my period has gone straight back to normal!

Sorry, but I just really wanted to voice my feelings to others who would understand what I'm going through (none of my friends are trying or close to at this point, or have all had children long ago).

Fingers crossed for this month for me and everyone else here TTC!

I can understand ur feelings dear...we all want the ttc journey to be as short as possible...however, the fact is that its always better to do some preconception care before u fall pregnant esp if u just came off the pill. Th pill decreases the vit B levels and zinc levels in ur body and also increases the vit A level.....and vit B12 and zinc are the most important of the vitamins and minerals that ur baby needs...high amount of Vit A is also linked to birth defects...having said that a lot of the women who have been of the pill have become pregnant immediately and have had beautiful healthy babies....but u know....why take a chance....so dont worry that u did not get pregnant immediately after going off the pill...try taking a prenatal suppliment to store up all the important nutrients that ur body is deprived of due to the pill. Also they say that the hormones in ur body are out of place immediately after u go off the pill and the body needs to go through atleast 2 cycles before which they regulate.....again there are people who have fallen pregnant on the pill and they seem to have healthy babies....

GOOD LUCK TO U ...HOPING AND PRAYING THAT THIS IS UR MONTH :)

Hi All
We are thinking that we will TTC #2 this year, not sure which month.
We have made the decision that we will only have 2 children, no matter the sex or the family pressure. DH is the only boy in the family, (I mean the last one with THE NAME) lol.
I look forward to sharing this exciting time with you all.
