Grrrr that's annoying

I just watched a documentary on a family with a new baby. This woman was about 60kgs and had a 9pound4 baby. The doctor told her "She's very big I don't think you will have enough milk you should give her formula as well." As soon as her C-secion was over. WTF?? I'm sorry but that just irritated me so much!!!! I weaned my first baby at 4 weeks due to in part, unhelpful midwives and LCs that just didn't give a rip (don't get me started on the public health system :mad:) Although he did have some medical issues and in all honestly I could have persisted. But comments like that just set women up to fail! Grrrrr.....

It's these kinds of misconceptions handed out by trained medical staff that contribute massively to our dismal Breastfeeding rate:(.

I shudder to think how many able bodied women end their BF journey because of D!cks like that:banghead:.

If the baby were small, they would have recommended formula to bulk her up.

I have no idea how the human species is alive, honestly, if all of these women are told that their babies "need" formula.

Whoever recommended that probably isn't aware of how milk is produced in a woman's body, in fact, I wonder if the doctor is old-school because that is the sort of rubbish my 75 yo grandmother tells me (she was a nurse).
