Hi all -
saw a new gyno today as my previous one has moved interstate (was it something I said???) He advised me that I have a tinge of PCOS which I knew and I took with me the ovulation stimulating tablets- provera & clomid (that other dr prescribed) which he said he is happy for me to start but it is probably a good idea to have a laperoscopy first to see if there is anything anatomical stopping me from having a regular af and therefore ovulating - stupid question i know but does anyone know can you ovualate without af - forgot to ask him when I was there.... I have heard that some women who have difficulty in getting pregnant have a laperoscopy (clean out the system) and then fall soon after. As much as I want to get pregnant want to do it "right"....
Sorry another stupid question how do "smilies"work - sorry very techo-phobic!!
but if I could I would put a bit smile right about here X!

Yes, you can still ovulate without AF.

To use the smilies, just click on whichever is your choice on the right here while your writing your post
----->(do they appear on your screen?)

Goodluck with the laperoscopy (if you go ahead) and ttc :fingerscrossed:

Hi Lis,

Sorry, I know nothing about laperoscopy, but the smiles I can help with!

Beside the buttons where you change the font size and font colour (at the top of the message window) there is a little smiley face button. if you click it you will get a drop down menu to choose your face from.

Good luck with your decision making,

Ang

Hi
I've had 2 laproscopy's and hysteroscopy's for endometriosis which FS didn't know I had until he went in the first time to check it out as nothing showed on the scan. That's probably why they want to do it. Sometimes you can only see what's going on by being inside with a tiny camera. Pictures are gross :barf: They also pump dye up through tubes to see if any blockages. You'll be asleep for it and You'll feel a bit sore for a couple of days but hopefully not much more than that. It's definitely worth doing to get all the info you can so your FS can begin the right treatment for you. Make sure you get DH or DP to buy you lots of chocolate and bring flowers and do the housework while you put your feet up. Make the most of this :D All the best.

Great advice samsara.

I too have had a laparoscopy and am lining up for my second one in the next few weeks, I was terrified of what they may find and potential side effects.

I was amazed how well I came out of the procedure & was a bit sore for the first couple of days, and definitely got some extra attention from my hubby which was nice.

My Dr had also suggested it before the clomid treatment to be on the safe side, so they are not stimulating your ovaries without knowing if there are any blockages. Better to be safe than sorry.

All the best with your procedure and treatment. I wish you every success.
