Is it too common now??

Hi:wave: I know i'm pretty early on to be thinking about baby names already (not due until January) but I cant help it:rolleyes:

When I was pregnant with DS2 I totally loved the name Mia for a girl. The thing is I still totally love it but I'm wondering since Bec and Lleyton have named their little girl Mia and the name is in the media, if now it is going to become too common?

Do you know many baby girls recently named Mia or about to be?

I know that it really shouldn't matter but I don't want her to be in a class at school with 6 other Mia's IYKWIM.

Mia's lovely. You can think you're being original and then meet other kid's named the same as your little ones. We meet Rylan's and Savanah's all the time. So we weren't as groovy as we thought! With that being said, I've never met another Maghan!

Thanks... Savannah's on our list too. It's so pretty and you're the first person I've "met" that has a child with that name, so it mustn't be too common.

I think Mia is a lovely name & i only really heard of it when Bec had named her DD that so i dont think its that common :)

I love it.. but i love it as being short for amelia... but a close freind of mine had a baby on wedneday and called her amelia... so i dont want to use it anymore :(

I personally really like the name Mia. Although i've been hearing it more and more since Bec and Lleyton named their baby Mia. Maybe it's one of those things, you don't realise how many Mia's there are until someone famous takes the name..all the sudden every little girl you meet name's Mia. :laughing:

She's a "Savy" or a "Sav" most days. She likes to call herself "Vana"...

I like to check the birth announcements in the paper to see whats becoming more popular.

If you do a search on your states birth, deaths and marriages site, most have a list of popular names for the year.

Her middle name is Jane, although in hindsight I really like Paige.

Her nickname is "Little Miss Savy J".

I have a Mia....she is a year old and obviously named before the Hewitt's daughter. We only heard of the name when a friend of my husbands introduced us to his wife 'Mia'. I was annoyed when Bec and Lleyton named Mia :no: but it is a lovely name and we have had nothing but positive comments about her name. A lot of my friends have had a few negative comments about their kids names but everyone loved the name Mia. It is amazing how popular a name is when you name a baby, it seems to pop up everywhere. If you love the name enough go with it ........otherwise there are lots of beautiful girls name, it is so hard to choose! I LOVE the name Mia and love my Miss MiaPants!

Mia is a lovely name. I have also seen a Mia pronounced My-ah. spose you could spell it Miah.

changed it a little because of my sister (meagan)

I think it is an awsome name!! (i also love Miss Savy J, its very sweet!!) I think no matter what you pick at some point your gonna go, hey bugger that was our name! I never met another Ella but since we named DD that we not only meet Ella's but Ella Grace's so they stole BOTH our names!! ;) I like Mia go with it (ummm I didnt even know thats what bec and lleytons bub was named!!)
