Gorgeous Jessiika - I agree, definitely beating the boys off!

Summer has another whit spot on her gums and just before she was crying and jamming her fists in her mouth. Wasn't sure to give her panadol, bonjela or feed her  been 2 hours since I fed her but she's happily feeding. Hmmmm who knows. Maybe I should be trying solids in the morning too?

Have a chn appt tomorrow - a follow up on her day stay so might get the nurse to look at her gums and confirm whether those white spots are teeth.

Wet here too.
Staying in today I think. Will potter around the house and do some christening stuff.

El gets the white spots too, k8y. They are teeth! They come and go though cause the teeth kind of grow up and then go back down again. Nyaaaaa!

MOS - You were asking about the Hot Milk bra. I think you should go up a size. I can't imagine that your breasts will get any SMALLER if you keep BFing Sam for a while longer :) I assume more milk as he gets older means bigger milk jugs  Get it though! I got mine and told DP to give it to me for a Chrissy Present. Zodee have a 'buy 2 get one free' offer on the Hot Milk at the moment now so maybe you can go halves with someone or something? Or thirds, should I say.

Jess - GORGEOUS pics. She is a stunner!!

c38 - that's great that you will get a break from G every now and again. I'm so glad! What are you going to do with yourself? Any plans? Had mini-fight with DP last night about him maybe looking after El every now and again now that he will take a bottle. I think we will need to leave it a bit longer until El is a bit bigger. Oh well. I will start asking others now that I know he will take a bottle! I don't want him to stop again! Plus I neeed to go chrissy shopping without Elliot at some point cause it's a bit tricky with bubs as you all probably know!

Can't remember what else! Sorry girls x

Elliot has started babbling! it is so cute. So far he can do "papapa", "popopop", "bububub", "mumumum" and we're pretty sure he can say "bugger off" as well ;) Or something that sounds remarkably like it! hahaha. So cute. I woke up this morning to bubububub and him gnawing on my arm, bless. Gotta love this teething time. Hasn't cut any yet though. I am worried for my boobies.
He had his six month jabs on Tuesday so has been a bit grizzly and grumpy. I can't believe it is 6 months already!!! How scary!

Morning girls,

Just bought my Secret Santa present :yelclap: :xmas: Hehe, I love buying pressies.... much to DP's dismay.

K8y - I think you're right about taking Kizza swimming more often... might just throw her in the dam everyday to wear her out :p

Jess - Mia is just beautiful. I agree with the girls, those eyelashes are something - I'd give my right arm for a set like that!!

Lambkin - so cute with the babbling! I can't shush DD up lately, particularly when she's having a crawl on the mat - loooves to chat then! She does a muuum sound and a bububub sound, but hasn't done the 'dad' sound yet... which is very frustrating because that's the one I say to her alll the time in an attempt to be able to tell DP she wants him

Having issues with her sleeping now though - she tends to sleep on her side (she just rolls herself into that position to sleep now) and ever since she's started the beginnings of crawling, she rolls from there to her tummy then lifts herself up on to all fours - then colaspses back down then does it again - until she wakes herself up all the way. I was watching her last night, and her eyes were closed the first 3 lifts - she wasn't even properly awake! So not sure how I can stop her doing that

Anyways, got to go pick up a few groceries...

i have a question...might put it on the facebook group, too.

how long are your bubs happy to entertain themselves? and what do they do to entertain themselves? play gyms? mats? roll on floor?

i find myself trying to get out at least once a day, bc he loves seeing new places and things and can people watch at the mall for hours, but with the weather being so crappy i'd rather stay home. just don't know what to do with him. he's happy on the floor for a little while then gets bored/frustrated.

in other news, he just took a 2h 45m nap!!!

whoa just took me FOREVER to catch now ive forgotten everything i was gonna say
hmm k8y dylan doesnt really close his mouth or turn his head away from solids but he just kinda gets uninterested thats when i stop. he had farex for a week then i mixed a little pear with it but now he wont eat it.
babywez ive been thinking about all those horrible news stories too its soo incredibly sad. i especially think of the 2 little boys and their dad prob as ive got 2 little boys who like to go and do stuff with daddy too its so sad that poor women left behind how awful.
babywez dylan likes to be upright morenow so he spends most of his time inhis car thing like a walker but doesnt move, his jolly jumper, on his floor mat. and he looves to be outsside in his pram i just had him out there for like an hour he was loving it. hee amuses himself pretty well sometimes up to an hour sometimes only 5 mins i suppose i have the other kids hanging around though too so he is often just watching them and he thinks he is playing they talk to him and jangle his toys n stuff so thats partly why he would stay so long.
my whinge im sick:crying: again so over it. ive had 2 X24 hour:barf: bugs in the last week and now i have the flu. so does dylan so instead of his usual get up 3 times a night it more like 8:rolleyes: oh what i wouldnt give for a whole nights sleep.
hmm now i cant remember what everyone said ...
oh yeah wow lambkin:yelclap: el is chatting away already clever boy, quite early too
my boy is a mr average i think. no teeth yet, no words, no sitting no crawling. he does roll a bit though and he goos and gaas and laughs he is very smiley and social. yay for average!!:smiliedance:

Wow Lambkin, what a smart little cookie! As SMO3 said, "YAY for average!". Sam's not crawling, talking, sitting, no teeth, nor any toilet training of any kind! He's my boy and I think he's just perfect but I know I'll never be talking about him being "advanced" anytime soon!

So Ems, it's official - she's sleep crawling! Maybe that means she'll be a sleep walker. ;) How cute though. Maybe she's just so excited about her new trick, she's dreaming about it.

i have a question...might put it on the facebook group, too.

how long are your bubs happy to entertain themselves? and what do they do to entertain themselves? play gyms? mats? roll on floor?

Sam moves around a fair bit and is a little anoying when he's home as I also feel like he needs to be entertained for a while. In the mornings he'll last in his bouncer while I have a shower as long as he gets to watch (I know... I wonder when that will stop!) and then after that for about another 20 mins watching the telly while I get dressed and ready. So we'll say around half an hour in the bouncer. While he's eating in the high chair he's fine and then maybe another half an hour sitting in it doing nothing while I tidy up. Sometimes I lie him on the floor on a blanket in our room with the TV on. He'll either watch the TV or he'll play with his toys around him depending on the mood. Other times he sits in his activity chair thing... He generally lasts about half an hour in each of these things. Sometimes I wheel his high chair outside and do some washing and he likes being outside. I think there's more colour out there too. He likes the colour green - gets mesmerised by it and the decor in this house is brown on brown (from the 70's!). In all, I think his limit in anything is around half an hour unless it's the pram and we're out and about.

my whinge im sick again so over it. ive had 2 X24 hour:barf: bugs in the last week and now i have the flu. so does dylan so instead of his usual get up 3 times a night it more like 8:rolleyes: oh what i wouldnt give for a whole nights sleep.

SMO3, I hope you get better soon. Sounds like you need a nice relaxing holiday to just sit around and do nothing... Ha! In a perfect world, eh?

And yes, yay for average! WOHOOO!!!!

I spoke to my mum today and she still hasn't told me anything about the lump. We had a nice long chat and she's sick, vomiting and diarrhea but going to work this arvo as she has no money. I feel sorry for her... But she had all the opportunity to tell me about the lump and didn't. And I don't want to dob my sister in and get her into trouble... I messaged my sis and she wrote back saying "Dr said it looks OK but is waiting. she's sick at the atm"... don't know what she's waiting for... or if she has a referral or something... I hope she's OK. She's under a lot of stress too atm. My sister's ex partner has been abusing her via SMS writing threats like he's going to put all of her furniture out the front of their house and burn it (it's actually MUM'S furniture) and sending her x rated pics of old men doing things and saying it's what her new BF does when he's alone during the day. Her situation is that she's broken up with him a few weeks ago and started seeing someone else from work but hasn't moved out of the house yet. His parents own it and they were renting it from them... It's all quite messy but she's trying to work full time and juggle her baby too alone. Then she gets a text while at work from him saying he can't get the baby from day care and it's her problem, etc, etc... very sad for her. I'm glad they have each other but I feel helpless not being able to do anything for either of them.

Anyway that's my rant. Better get going as need to do dishes and then walk down to Woolies then come back and get washing in. Chat later.

Elliot won't play for very long on his own at all! Sometimes, the cot mobile and some toys in there is enough to amuse him long enough for me to hang out some washing, but it's rare! He squeals and screams for me to pay attention to him. Nyaaagh! Can't get anything done. I think they do get frustrated at this age because they're old enough to want particular things, but not old enough to get them for themselves. Do you know what I mean? It's an awkward stage.

You poor thing, i hope you feel better soon.
And yay for average, I agree! They start babbling at 5-7 months according to Wikipedia (the source of most of my information, sadly haha) so all the bubs should start experimenting with consononent-vowel sounds soon. I don't think they start saying real words until they're 1 or so. I did a course in Child Language Development at Uni and I am trying to remember what we learned!
but yes.. he's not actually talking, just making sounds. he has no idea that they mean anything.

Just bought my Secret Santa present H

Same here :) Its way too hard sticking to the $10 limit though... I wanna spend more :no: no fair

CHarlotte is high maintenance. Generally at home its either on the floor with various toys or in her hairchair with toys. Depending on her mood. Sometimes she just complains unless im down there with her interacting. But times like today she is just singing to herself amusing herself on the floor trying to get under the table.

It really varies on the times though, but nothing for very long lol

And how do we know 1mum1 is out there? What if she forgot she's involved? Has she sent you her address yet? I mean how do we know she's actually out there if all she's posted is to be in on our Secret Santa? I'm glad it's you and not me organising this one - I'm baffled! (None of that sounded bad, did it?).

I've had two emails from 1MUM1 and she has sent me her address. Waah! Also baffled. Not sure what to do. I don't want to leave her out, but I don't want it to be awkward either.

re: 1mum1 not meaning to be rude to her, but I think we need a bit more info before including her, after all anyone can join the forum. I am sure if she is legit, she will not mind a bit of follow up. In other words 1mum1 make yourself known so we can happily include you in xmas cheer!!!!!

sk6, there is one person on our secret santa list who has never chatted with us. She's only ever posted once - in our Secret Santa thread... that's why we're all wondering about her...

And I plan to get my SS something personal so am waiting to see who I get before buying... also another reason it would be nice for 1mum1 to chat. :)

awww SMO3 you poor thing :hugs: sending the sleep fairy Dylans way :wizard:

MOS it somehow needs to be known to your mum that you know. Maybe your sister can tell her she told you?

Summer is the same, about 1/2 per activity unless we're out and about in the pram, then she goes for ages. Shopping days are good as she entertains herself by watching everyone/everything from her pram for ages so it's less exhausting I think. At home we do different things, play mat where she entertains herself with her ball or watching tv while I fold washing or something. Doesn't last long in the cot with the mobile anymore. In her high chair now she'll do well while I get her food ready and clean up. She sits in her rocker and watches our fishes, loves those. I am thinking she needs an activity centre but they're so $$$ Other then that she naps about 3 hours all up during the day, the rest is spent feeding her, bathing her and handing her over to DP :D

lambkin I think it's best that the secret santa is for those involved in 'chatting' and who we 'know'. Maybe she's not even on the forum anymore since she got in touch with you??

Summer did well with farex today. She has that happy baby bowel with the 3 sections and I filled one section with farex and she ate the whole lot - well whatever didn't go down her bib anyway which was probably half of it :D Makes feel I'm doing the right thing in starting her on solids now.

Her last post was in the Secret Santa thread, so I don't think she's very active. Hopefully she'll get my message soon and come over and say hoowdy.
And ouch! Poor thing. Elliot smacks me in the face occasionally. They are turning into such bruisers now, aren't they??

hi all!

Grrr just completed a long post and the computer froze and wiped it:hair: I didnt have any personals though, have read through the last 6-7 pages, and sounds like everyone is going well and so are the bubbas.

Re: waking in the middle of the night. Its happening here, too. Liam seems to take a few sleep cycles to settle right down, and then hes off for around 4 hours before waking for another feed. He also wakes for the day at around 6am regardless, which is annoying, but its my hang up, not his. I think it might be to do with days getting lighter earlier.

Caught up with C&Lmummy, Mybabyq, and Chaise, Lara and Quinn today:shakehands:! Its great to put faces to names and the girls are gorgeous! I think Liam was quite the gentleman among all the ladies! Thanks again for a great day.

Re: how to know when bub has had enough food. I pretty much keep going until Liam pushes my hand away, but OMG hes a big eater. When we came home, he had a jar of Heinz chicken and sweetcorn (loved it), and then approx 2 tablespoons of farex made up with water - he probably couldnt fit in the last 2 mouthfuls.....and then a couple of hours later had a boobie feed!

He surprised me and himself tonight by getting up on all fours for a moment! Was very shaky, and his legs soon collapsed under him (and no wonder with the weight of that huge dinner!), but he looked very pleased with himself indeed. My MIL always insisted that he will be crawling by Christmas, and I think she's right.

No sign of teeth here yet, although I caught him rubbing his cheek on the couch tonight. It wasnt a coincidence, it was a deliberate action, but no red cheeks or more dribbling than normal, so we'll see.

All from me for now, hope mums and bubs have a peaceful night tonight. Take care:flowerz:

Just got home from having my regrowth highlighted. It feels good to have that done. Amazing how much difference it makes. There were only 2 women left working there and I was the last client. One asked me if I worked today and I said, "If you count looking after my 5 month old working" and she said, "Ohhhh yes I do." And they proceeded to ask me all kinds of questions about child birth and breast feeding. She asked if I had a "normal" birth and I said yes, so she asked how it was. I asked if she really wanted to know, and she said yes. She likes hearing all her clients birth stories. So I told her straight up. Hahah. She said, "Sorry, yours is definitely the worst story I've heard". HOpe I didn't turn her off having kids. As I left I said, "At the end of the day, its just one day of your life, and you eventually recover."

I am considering inviting my sister I don't talk to to our Christmas dinner. We're having my other sister and her partner, and my mother and her mother over for dinner Christmas Day. I thought I'd be the bigger person and extend the invitation. I don't expect her to accept it, but I guess I have to prepared in case she (and her fiance) do accept it. Not sure about it yet. I put it to my husband, who can't stand either of them, so we'll see what is decided. It would mostly be for my mum's sake if I did it.

DH is watching "Life After People"...not sure I should be watching this.

Dentist and Big W tomorrow! What an exciting Friday. Mum's going to work until 10 then taking the rest of the day off to watch Nick while I'm at the dentist and come shopping w/ us. Might also get Nick's pic with Santa tomorrow.

TGIF (almost!)

DP also watching 'Life after People...' *snore*

Summer seems full of beans tonight and not ready for bed yet. She's busy chattering and kicking and watching tv

I'm blaming it on all the energy the farex has given her. I thought it was suppose to make them feel fuller longer, but 2 1/2 hours later, she woke up ready for her booby feed. Don't know where it all goes. She must have inherited DP's hollow legs.

Tomorrow we have a chn appt at 12pm and we're going in search of some nice paper for our order of service booklets. I'm suppose to have finished drafting them, but I haven't seem to have found the time yet.

 What does TGIF mean???

If 1mum1 hasn't responded to your post asking her to come and chat, then how do we know she's going to REALLY take part in the SS? I think if she doesn't respond, we need to assume she's AWOL. She might have put her name down on a whim and then forgotten about it.

babywez, I want my re-growth done too. :hissy: How big of you to invite your sister. Good on you if you do end up doing it. Your mum will be so happy. Just hope she doesn't come! Awww... Christmas is a time for giving! ;)

Oh! I got it! Thank God It's Friday!!! :yelclap:

Kyles, well done with the big feed. It's nice meeting other hubbers, isn't it?

And yay for Summer eating so well. I think it just takes them a few days to get used to it. Sam ate all of his carrots today and he had steamed pureed pears for dinner. Oh my he gobbled them up sooo fast. I'm worried he needs more. He'll certainly eat more... but I suppose he needs BM more, right? If he's eating 2 tablespoons at each meal (lunch and dinner) and gobbling really fast, should I start on brekky too? But it's only been 2 days since I started on the lunch... I don't want to rush him. I wonder if he'll sleep well tonight.

The other day the SIL told me she wanted to get Sam his high chair for Chrissy. I told her he's been using it for weeks and I don't want her spending that much money on him. So then the other day she asked if she could get him a portacot. I said that's a great idea as we're going away for a week after Chrissy and I was going to suggest that. She asked which one I wanted. I told her to just get a cheapie as long as it folds up small-ish. She told me to go and chose one and tell her. I said if she wants to buy something as a gift, do so but I'm not going to get it myself and then take money from her. So yesterday when I was shopping, I was in Toys R Us and I saw there was a nice one that was reduced frm $250 to $99.95. They all honestly looked the same.. so I grabbed the ticket (you know the one where you take it to the counter and they get it for you?) and I tried to give it to her yesterday. She told me to go and buy it and she'll give me the cash. Duh.... Anyway I will go and get it tomorrow but the next time she asks about getting him anything, I am not going to give her any ideas. If she wants to get it, she can do it. I just feel really bad going out and buying something for my son and then taking money off her. DH said I should just do it as she's too busy... I think it's funny...

Just a quick question Ive been meaning to ask for MONTHS:laughing: how long do you bathe your bub? I generally dont go for much longer than 5 minutes, mainly as my back starts getting really sore. So when Liam can sit up by himself, it will probably be longer...................just curious

I bought those frozen mini pavlovas today and strawberries and blueberries and 99% fat free, dairy free berry sorbet. It was such an easy desert but AMAZING! :D And light too!

Just heard on the news that second twin died in hospital today. What an awful awful tragedy for that family, right before Christmas.

K8Y you're right...if they accepted the invitation it probably would stress me out. But I don't think they'd stay long, dinner and leave, like they normally do at family functions involving my mum. Family functions at my dad's, they're the last to leave. Long story.

I'm off to kiss my beautiful baby boy goodnight and go to sleep. Its Thanks Giving in the US today, and I'm thankful for my happy healthy family.

Have therefore been awake since 3:30 and just had breakfast. Hoping we'll both go back to sleep at his 7 am feed. Now he's on the floor on his tummy laughing at something. Kids are so funny.

Yay for the booklets! And I am also one of those people who thinks the thought is worth more than the present itself. When I buy a card I spend sometimes up to 20 mins reading the insides trying to find one that says the most perfect thing. I just don't get me doing it all myself and I also have a problem with taking money from someone in the family when we are really not in a bad financial situation at all. I know you're just stirring but I re-read my post and I know I sound ungrateful! :D

Today I have a few loads of washing to do and then I'm off to get Sam's portacot and check out some other things for the nieces, nephews and I forgot about my brother :o... and something small for mum. I also have a bestie who buys me both Chrissy and Birthday pressies each year even thought I forget her birthday... well sometimes. This year I did as it was in May while I was packing and moving. I don't buy for any other friends either so I kind of don't think about it. Oh bugger, I think I need to make a list. This is ridiculous!

I think I can speak for both DD and myself and say we are both feeling like pooh. We both have stinking colds, though I think mines more the flu. Poor little DD's nose was running all day yesterday and I was at her with the Nose Frieda thing most of the day - I'm sure she hated me. I was in bed at 8 last night but had a disturbed sleep as I could hear DD tossing and turning. She's still not awake which is unusual for her but I'm ready and waiting for when she does wake up. Been the paranoid mother checking up on her - poor little thing is snoring away as her nose is so blocked!

God it was hard work yesterday looking after a sick little one when you're feeling pooh yourself - hope today isn't as bad as yesterday. I was hanging out for my OH to come home, and very rarely, he was about an hour later than normal:no:

Anyway hope you are all doing ok. Have a good day everyone.

Well I give Charlotte a full Breastfeed then 15 minutes to half an hour later is when I give her solids. Just to make sure she has all her milk and the solids are just extra..

Last night I fed her full and 10 minutes later gave her solids, she ate 4 tablespoons of vegies, with 1 big spoon of farex and water mixed together, then had a few spoons of custard after. Huge amount. I cant believe how much she is eating now. But she is non stop on the go so I guess she needs it.
For first 3 weeks she just had like a small amount of plain farex. Feed til she gets bored or uninterested. Just follow their lead I guess

STG, re the CHN, ring the council and ask where your nearest Community centre is, thats where the CHNs are, its a free service.

One to watch out for.

This is a newly known spider, so please take note. Has been found all over Eastern Aust and heading to WA.

Looks similar to a huntsman. This spider is in all states. Not a good look!! Please take note of this spider - it is very dangerous. Please warn kids and send to every one you know to alert them as well! This spider is breeding at a rapid rate of speed and is being found in more and more houses!!!!

I could only look at one of those pics. I absolutely HATE spiders, harmless or not. I made DH kill a brown furry one that was in the house, quite big. Mum said, "That won't hurt you" I don't care! DH felt bad, he said, for killing it. He tried to kill it but just chopped a leg off, said the poor thing looked frightened and tried to scamper off before he finished it off. Normally I think any creature can be captured and put outside, but spiders give me the absolute willies.

Don't stress. I don't think it's such a bad thing for babies to watch a bit of telly. As long as they're not planted in front of it 24/7. It's understandable why they watch it too with all of the bright colours and moving things, etc. Why not give yourself half an hour or so to go and do some washing or dishes or even scratch your bum? :D Sam watches it around the same time each morning and I'm worried he's going to speak Spanish before English thanks to Diego! (Say "Click" - take a pic!").

Well yesterday I pegged the washing out under the verrandah so this morning when I was walking out there, the MIL told me to peg it outside today. I was going to. Then I walked out there and saw the black clouds and told her I think it's going to rain and I might not be here to bring it in. She said it doesn't matter, someone will do it. If there's nobody else here, her husband will do it. So I've loaded up the clothes line with Sam's clothes too and towels and everything. As I was finishing I felt rain drops on my arms... So I'm going out now as there's NO WAY I'm moving a line full of clothes under cover! :D

Morning,

My princess has been fast asleep for 2 hours. I can't believe it, I have showered got dressed done my hair done chaises hair, the banking and now sitting here catching up. It's fantastic!

It was great to catch up with the girls yesterday. I don't have anyone around me with little bubs. Chaise got up today asking where the other babies were.

I let Lara watch wiggles during the day. She loves them so much and i love seeing her giggle and her little face light up. i'm not worried at all because Chaise was the same at her age and now watches very little tv, she is very happy to play with all of her toys. I kinda think while they are still unable to move around tv is fine. JMO though.

So sad about that little twin that died, the poor family and you would never be able to forgive yourself. I think i'd die too if i lost my girls.

Well i can hear my little munchkin, better go we are off to the shops for some pins. I bought some gorgeous fairy wings to pin onto their singlets for the photos we are having done this arvo.

Hi everyone sorry haven't been around much only have time to read then Q starts crying or needing attention. So tired as like everyone else's baby she is back to waking up in the night one or two times.

Sk6 that spider bite looks awful! How weird that you got an email about it years ago MOS, could it really all just be a conspiracy?

Lambkin- i am glad you are back and feeling better! i got my hot milk bra in the mail the other day too and i love it!! saving it to be unveiled at DP's birthday next wednesday because the only reason i got it was because i told him it was a present for both of us!! He couldn't figure out what it was tho

So tired and stressing about Q as she has just been crying so much lately, took her to the doctors to be checked out this morning and nothing medically wrong that they could tell. Seems to have started since she has been eating solids so not going to give her any for a few days then have my CHN appt next week to discuss. Its awful hearing her cry for hours so glad she isn't normally like this.

Had a great catch up with Kyles and chaise and lara's mummy yesterday, perfect timing with naps too which made it so much better! only problem was google maps sent me down a dead end!!

:ecomcity: Too much....:ecomcity:

Went to my dads yesterday to stay the night they live about a hour away, what a mission......I was stuffed by the time I packed the car!
Casey slept in the portacot.....he woke @ 3.30am again!! he was a bit unsettled,so I didn't get much sleep once again...I swear he will be crawling soon he moves forward pushes off his legs....so cute! He rolls & rolls..... trys to sit up,eating lots more....I swear these boys are going to eat me out of house & home.
I think I will keep to the plain foods to start with,I think some of the things may be upsetting his wee tummy,he has been farting like a trooper today! I have tried that organic creamy oats & Figs...he ate the whole jar but it then repeats on him later & has a few spews,he loves the apple & banana ones,I made some apple the other week, not a huge fan at the moment likes his veges, have only done Cauliflower/carrot/sweet potato.

Ok better run:wave:

Afternoon girls,

Just a quick one today - not too many personals.

Kyles - Yay for Liam getting up on all fours - it all just snowballs from there :D
ETA - re: the bath - I usually just let DD play with her toys in there for 10-15mins or so. Whenever
my back has had enough!

And SMo3 - Those pics are gorgeous - Dylan is just such an adorable little man - those eyes get me everytime!! Your DD is quite the pretty little thing as well! - not long til you'll have DH standing at the door with a bat fending all the would-be suitors off ;)

And eeuuugggghhhhh.... I hate spiders. I do remember seeing those pics before as well... I don't care how long they've been around, they should all be squished  My mate got bitten by one of those white spiders and has a great big hole in her leg now *shudders*. She was either in Broome or the NT at the time, can't remember.

My little sister and her boyfriend have put an offer on a house, so went to check it out with her while they had the B&P inspection done today. Quite a nice place, only 10yrs old, and they've offered $317k for it, so :fingerscrossed: they get it.

Nothing much else... am soo, so tired today. I just want one full nights sleep  Even though she's only waking once during the night again at the moment, but she's up and ready to go at 6am every morning. Which isn't that bad, but I'm tired and cranky, so any excuse for a whinge will do :p

:hugs:Maybe an upset tummy,I think Casey has been getting them since I started solids,so I will stick to plain foods then introduce some others, today I gave him creamy oats & figs (organic) from the jar he ate it all but then did a poo straight away & popped off heaps & was harder to settle afterwards he spews it up a bit too,he is a little piggy though.

I was hanging out for my OH to come home, and very rarely, he was about an hour later than normal

Anyway hope you are all doing ok. Have a good day everyone.

:hugs:Hope you all feel better soon nothing worse than being sick!

Just a quick question Ive been meaning to ask for MONTHS how long do you bathe your bub? I generally dont go for much longer than 5 minutes, mainly as my back starts getting really sore. So when Liam can sit up by himself, it will probably be longer...................just curious

G'night

Casey has mostly showers with myself & DH gets him out,but sometimes he will have a long bath if I bath him early so he gets nice & relaxed & sleepy....:p

I rarely give her food straight from the jar. I usually use the jar food to mix with farex. It goes further and isnt so concerntrated so I think its easier on her tummy

I wish there was a smiley with steam coming out of its ears, b/c that is how mad I am right now. And I was in such a good mood earlier b/c I took Nicklas to see Santa and he was SOOO GOOD! I've posted a pic on FB (http://www.facebook.com/home.php#/photo.php?pid=1218942&id=558738387&ref=mf)

Mum was with me and on the way home asked if I was inviting my sister and her fiance to Christmas dinner, b/c I said I wanted to have it here since we have the tree and its Nick's first, etc. I put it to DH last night about inviting them, you konw, being the bigger person, etc. but why is it that when mum says I should do it because its the right thing to do that it really makes me not want to? She said it was the right and polite thing to do, since its the "family" Christmas dinner. I should have said "We haven't had a family christmas dinner since you and dad got divorced" (holy cr@p do I need therapy?). I said "The right and polite thing to do would be to congratulate your sister on having a baby but I never heard anything about that" then I get the "Well you never wished her a happy birthday". WTF!? Are you effing kidding me?

Sorry, I am so mad right now. I need to blow of some steam. I don't know what to do. This is the kind of sh1t I don't want to have to deal with, which was why I didn't want to invite her. SO then mum says, "Well if you don't want her here, we'll have it at our place" (our being her and her mother's, she looks after her). Yeah, that's where I want Nick's first Christmas, in a house with no tree or decorations or Christmas spirit at all. :hair::hair::hair::banghead::banghead::banghead:

Firstly the Santa pic is fantastic, what a beautiful chubby bub! (I love chubby bubs)

Now vent away...Christmas and family..swear they shouldnt be said in the one sentence sometimes. When we had DD1 we put our foot down, said we will be doing Christmas at our place for the next few years, and whoever wants to come is welcome. I can assure you we put some noses out of joint, but we were not going to spoil her Christmas mornings, by dragging her away from her Santa pressies and dragging her all over the country.

SMO3 love the photos! Especially the ear sticking out one, so cute.
I don't know how I do it all either. I drove 40mins (on motorway, so 100km/hour its quite a trek) away to this great paper place today after our CHN appt to get the paper I want for the ceremony booklets and they didn't have enough :hissy: Now I have to find somewhere else after that big waste of time.
Tomorrow I have to go to spotlight to get organza bags for the cookies to go inside the boxes, source another paper place, go to the nursery to get pots for the 2 plants out the front as DP wants that looking nice before we have all the people over, and get my eyebrows waxed. Plus buy some blinds for the main toilet and bathroom, and also sand and the paint the window sills for them before the blinds are put in.
Then there is the housework.
Plus I have to bake the cookies for the bonboniere.
I'm sure there is other stuff to do. I have a list somewhere

sk6 they need a heebie jeebies smiley, those pics are nasty :crying:

MOS I made a lemon cake today to freeze for the christening and I ate a piece :o

babywez beautiful pic! What a great Santa. sk6 I agree, family and xmas are not a good mix  it's not easy being the bigger person and it's also very stressful. I guess you could in the end just invite her and pray like hell she doesn't turn up.
Mum is sooking because she wants xmas at her place so I said bugger it, we're having it here as it's Summer's first and thats that. There is no way in hell she'll miss Summer's first xmas though!

Casey is no2 child so Im a bit more relaxed:D

thats the last reason.

My main reasons is its more economical, a jar lasts longer and dont have to buy as much, as well as the jars are really sweet usually and I dont think she needs to get used to a sugar rush of concerntrated fruit and sweet purees and farex seems to add some substance to an otherwise snack

smo3, great pics. I love the little elf one the best. And my I am still blown away by his beautiful blue eyes.

babywez, I know exactly how you feel. If only you'd actually invited your sister before your mum said anything. Then it wouldn't be so bad. You so don't want to do it once someone else starts telling you that you should, right? Maybe you could tell your mum straight out that you WERE going to invite her but since she made such a big deal out of the fact that you "should" do it, you're not too sure anymore...

As I was leaving today, the MIL started freaking out as it started to rain... DUH! Like I said it would... So off the line the clothes came again while she called out at me to "hurry up". Oh boy.... sometimes its hard... but the SIL came and cooked dinner so today wasn't too bad. Not sure what I'm going to do tomorrow and I'm a little nervous about it all really. Sat is cleaning day and I so don't want to do it while she's sitting on the lounge watching me... and directing...

Babywez, that Santa pic is so cute. How did you get him to smile like that? I may need some pointers!

k8y... umm...good luck with all of your errands. Maybe you need a PA for a day?

San gobbled up his pears today and tonight I added some Farex to his carrots and he gobbled those too. No poop today though and he was quite grumbly this arvo so I'm worried he has a sore tummy. We'll see I suppose...

Good night all. Have a good weekend. :hugs:

great photo babywez.

bugger about family...my MIL is annoyed as we thought we'd be in Syd for xmas due to dh's work, but he is not working so now we are having it at home....even though we are already having a do for his side of the family the weekend before...

I agree will all...if you want the first xmas at home....well it should be!! (and will be in my case)

I can't believe child vs birthday...getting very nitpicky there!

I have had a semi productive day, didn't go for my walk due to the weather, but went and got rid of some of my books at my friend's sisters place who runs a second hand book store so have heaps of books to read now. cleaned the house and sorted through Pip's clothes to work out what we need ( or want on PP online sale:laughing:) :fingerscrossed: DH comes home tonight, with the weather there is a risk he will be stuck in Hobart for the night:(

Pip's other bottom tooth came through last night so she woke a few times, but far enough really!

k8y....you sounds like you are putting in a lot of work for the christening, sounds like it will be perfect.

uggh I have just spent the last 30 minutes trying to get Pip to sleep......normally she is pretty good, but she is jst fighting it at the moment :hair: she is still not asleep, but I needed a break so I thought I would finish this off!

Beautiful photos everyone. I hope Chais smiles for his santa photo. He hasn't seen him yet, so not sure how we'll go.

DP got the job :smiliedance:, he starts on Monday. I'm so glad I can go to bed when I feel like it instead of having to stay up till 11pm, as my morning sickness gets worse as the day goes on & the only way I seem to be able to get rid of it is to go to sleep.

Not sure if that spider story is real, but I agree, I hate spiders!!!!

I also hate having to share my kids at Christmas. This year I'll have them on Christmas day until 10am :(

They come home in the morning & we're putting the tree up this weekend. They're so excited.

Chais has the food straight from the jar. So far he hasn't had a prob with it. He doesn't have fruit very often though, he has the cereal ones at breakfast & vegies at dinner. Only on the days where he seems to want a bit at lunch does he have the fruit. He really loves the apple & mango one!

:smiliedance:re your Dh getting the new job. You will feel like a new woman not haveing to stay up.

Well I caved today and Little G with some rice cereal... well he nearly ate the chair, bowl and spoon...he absolutely loved it! So guess I'm on the solids bandwagon too. Though as he's so young I think I'll stick to rice cereal for a few weeks. There's some video on facebook, and Ill upload some pics soon.
I also tried to get some shots for christmas cards...but the light in my house isnt geat, weirdly as I have windows all round,.. but I struggle some days to find a spot where I dont get really grainy pics. I have a supposedly great camera..but it urks me at times I think my old cheapy thats broken was better..
I'll put some on photobucket when I get time and show you.Dont want o put them on facebook until Ive made the cards.

Baby wez, I think Gabe and Nic are in tune. He woke at 230, fed...but woke when I tried to put him to bed. BY 330 he was full of giggles and wanting to play... in the finish at about 430ish after walking around rocking him etc to try and convince him it was sleep time, I took him to bed with me, and got a few more naps while he fed on and off. 630 I had to give in and get up.... Grrrr. He's only had 20min naps all day...so by the afternoon I was zombie like.. But weridly I feel not to bad this evening...
Am going to go to bed soon...so hopefully get a few more hours in tonight before he wakes..

Hes still quite whingy, one tooth is through but hasnt come up, the other is still under the gum..just a pinpoint spot, but I can see the widening of the gum at then back where its sitting there. Im hoping his whingly/clingyness improves once it's through. He used to play for 20-60 minutes on his mat or in his chair but the last week or so Its been like 10-15:hair:. He just wnats to be on my knee..happy to reach out to everything from there but not be independant of me. He hardly ever rolls anymore and is relusctant to creep round ..just plants the head and whinges....poor man. Sometimes its really obviously the teeth as he holds the gum.

Anyhow 5 more minutes and Im off....MUST HAVE SLEEP!

That's exactly right...if she hadn't started telling me I should invite my sister, I'd probably have just done it. In any case, I did sent her a txt message last night inviting her, and of course didn't hear back yet. Mum will say, "Why didn't you PHONE her?" b/c mum, no one phones anymore! I just said in the txt that we were having Christmas dinner at our place on Christmas Day (our family rarely ever does Christmas ON Christmas) did she and her fiance want to join us. So we'll see what she says.

As far as the pic...I just stood beside where the camera was and tried to get his attention, they were great and took about 10-12 photos, this was the one he was most smiling at the camera in. For a kid who had about 20 minutes of nap yesterday, he sure was happy.

great photo babywez.

I can't believe child vs birthday...getting very nitpicky there!

That's what I thought. It wasn't even a "special" birthday, it was 26. You have birthdays every year. Your sister doesn't have a baby every year...well unless your sister is Kotakai :laughing:

c38 Mr G really did take to the solids!
I'm with you on the keeping it farex for a few more weeks.
Summer is at the tail end of the all the June bubs too and I discussed it also with the CHN and we agreed that the farex would possibly help with the reflux but to hold out on all other foods until she's 6 months.
I love the pics! Especially the foot grabbing one, that one is cute.
Have you tried taking the photos outside? Maybe that might help.

Thanks BBB

Yay kotakai for your DP getting the job :smiliedance:
:fingerscrossed: your morning sickness passes soon.....

DP taking Summer to swimming this morning while I go and buy the blinds.
I'm taking her the next one as it's during the week because we're doing an alternate class because she can't make the saturday because of the christening. Then we'll both go to the last one together before it breaks up for the year.

hi everyone!

Kotakai - congratulations on DH getting the job!:smiliedance:Really hope the MS settles down for you soon, OMG - bad memories!

Love the Christmas baby pics, but I forget whether Ive commented on them on here or on Facebook, so will comment again:

Babywez - such a cute pic of Nick on Santas lap. What a beautiful smile!
SMO3 - I have to join the Dylans eyes fanclub too, hes so gorgeous!
C38 - love the pic of Gabe reaching for his foot. Such a sweetie!

My best friend came over last night and gave Liam his bath. Ive never seen him enjoy a bath so much, he was giggling away for her. It kind of put me out a bit as he rarely giggles in the bath for me:laughing:. She wrapped him up nice and tight and he fell asleep for her straight away, and when he woke up in the middle of the night, he hadnt rolled onto his tummy - when I put him down, hes always rolled over now:D She also gave me a few handy hints on making his vegies - mainly to mix the fresh vegies I make with some cans if I want, just to ensure he gets some kind of meat in his meals. So today Im going to be steaming heaps of vegies and putting them into individual containers etc.

OK, am going to have a shower while Liam is down for morning nap - I think hes starting to drop the morning nap - its down to about 20 minutes, but then a longer sleep around lunchtime.

Have a great day all. Take care:flowerz:

:smiliedance: Yay to your DH kotakai! You must tell him there are women all around Australia cheering for him. ;) And I too hope your MS settles down too...

C38, I agree, Mr G really loved his solids. I love the way he grabs the spoon and tries to feed himself. What a clever little man. And my fav is the foot in mouth pic too. I might take some inspiration from you and see if I can get some creative poses and then I will do Chrissy cards. I'm quite slack though - I tend to tell people I'm not doing cards this year but I'm THINKING of it so that's the part that counts! I just know each year I attempt to do cards and I still have them after new year's so end up not sending them... so I know when I attempt to do Chrissy cards it's a complete waste of time. Maybe this year might be different since I'm not working... I dunno...

babywez, sending no-sister-at-Christmas vibes your way! :goodvibes:

Today I got up early and have cleaned most of the house. I've gotta give it to the old bird - she made NOT ONE COMMENT while I cleaned. Oh hang on, there was ONE... but she just tries to tell me what to do without understanding why I'm doing things a certain way. DH's dad had Sam for a few mins while I finished off the vacuuming and I only had one bit to go under the coffee table, which had been pushed to the side for Sam to sit in his activity chair. I go to move it and she says "no, leave it there"... I just said "OK but how will I vacuum all of the crumbs underneath?"... Duh! So she says "Oh OK". I moved it back... she just yells though, it's just her way but it makes you want to yell back! Especially when you're trying to help her and she's being a little pedantic... from her permanent spot on the lounge!

So I'm almost done. I've done 1 bathroom, dusting, vacuuming, kitchen. I've just got to mop the house now and rinse the bathroom outside.

So must go now Sam's asleep. Chat later!

babywez, hope i works out for you, I too am the type of person that is less likely to do something if someone says I should!!!

congrats on dh getting the job kotakai :hugs: on the M/S

well after fighting with Pip for 2 hours last night she did a poo which I didn't smell very unusual these days, so I think thats why she wasn't going to sleep. tired today though as DH came home at 1am and woke me up for awhile ;) and then had to get up at 7 to feed Pip. been to the gym and back to sleep for a bit though...anyway gotta go and have a shower....

I forgot to mention, when I was in Myer the other day I went to the bathroom section and there was a set of scales on the floor so I jumped on them. I am now 57kgs. That's a weight I've been in the past before I was PG. I was 54kgs pre PG but I'm aiming for 52kgs which is what I was at our wedding and I felt good then. I had no idea I'd dropped from 60kgs so a 3kg loss is pretty good. I don't know when that happened though as I haven't weighed myself in a while... oh well am going to stick to this fruit and veggie thing!

Well done on the weight loss MOS - what a great surprise for you!

I won 2 Pumpkin Patch tops on ebay!!:smiliedance: I never win anything on ebay anymore - place my bid and then forget all about it! What's even better is the tops are (obviously) for Liam so DH can't go too crook about me spending money:D

Ive just finished pureeing a massive batch of veggies - theres potato, sweet potato, carrots, parsnip, and a bit of broccoli.....hope he likes it! I had a taste and I think its yummy.....ok, must go clean up in the kitchen now - as you could imagine, theres little orange splatters everywhere from the blender.:flowerz:

:crying: I'd just written a massive post then went to delete a smiley, and - hit backspace. Sigh

Fiiiiddlesticks, I hate that.

Okay, here we go again.

Babywez - that Santa pic is gorgeous!! We're getting Kizza done tomorrow - heading there with my bestie and her little man. Hopefully she smiles - I'm not to keen on having to sit on Santa's lap to get a picture!

K8y - Hope your day wasn't too hectic! I got tired just reading about it!

Oconky - :hugs: for Pips other tooth that came through. I think she needs to show my DD how to get them through quickly!

Kotakai - Congrats on your DH getting that job!!! You must be soo relieved that you get to go to bed at a normal hour! I'd be an absolute trainwreck if I had to do that AND look after 3 kids WHILE being pregant. Gosh, you're a saint! And that pressie is goreous - and so is Chais, laying there enjoying it!

C38 - Gab definately looks like he's enjoying the farex! He always has such a gorgeous intelligent look about him... you know when people look at a bub and say 'oh, that's a little soul that's been here before'? He has that look about him, I reckon! :D

Kyles - they're always little angels for everyone but Mum eh? lol Those veges sound yum... I gave Kizza sweet potato and cauliflower with a bit of rice blended in tonight, but the rice was a bit chunky still, I think - must've tickled her throat and she gagged the whole lot up. So. Won't be trying that again for a while! And yay for the Ebay win!

MOS - glad the MIL didn't give you too much grief with the cleaning. I tried to do a few bits and pieces for my MIL while we were down there, and she goes along and does them after me. Not an hour after me; straight away. It's not rocket science wiping down a bench - I can't do it that horribly wrong, surely? :hair: Annyway. Congrats on your weightloss!!! I want to loose a couple more kgs before we start TTC again... which is only meant to be 4months away

BB - 12kgs is amaaaaazing!! Far out, you girls have SO much more willpower than me! Enjoy Crowded House!!

Not much going on today. Khirra's crawling off the rug now and finding out that polished wooden floor are harder to get around on, lol. Also went too close to the TV cabinet today when diving from crawling to a toy and smacked her head right into it. It's beginning. lol.

DP is at the Supercross tonight, so I'm the taxi. It's meant to finish at 8.30 (on the other side of town) but no doubt he'll enjoy a 'few' drinks afterwards. So a late one, I reckon. Might be annoying you girls on here ;)

Ooh, I do have to cook that lemon cake, MOS. Going to afternoon tea with the girls I used to work with tomorrow. Very excited as I get to see one of the boys in my class last year (his mum was the director).

Wow, what a hail storm today. We were at a friend's place and we heard it coming - a big whoosh! So the men bolted out to the cars and parked them under the freeway up the street.

We're going away with some friends from Dec 26th to Jan 3rd and I cant wait! Sam's got his new suitcase and we got one that matches from the markets last weekend. I want to start packing NOW! I keep on seeing things around the house and thinking "I must remember to pack that"... I'm taking my Bebedelice and DH wants to take the juicer!

Congrats on winning the EBAY items Kyles!! i love the rush of ebay with last minute bidding and if i lose i always feel satisfaction that at least i made someone else pay more for it than they thought they would! and those vegies do sound great! We have stopped solids for a week as Q's tummy was so upset we already have a dairy allergy i would hate it if there is more to come but it looks like there will be:no:

Kotakai that mat looks great and Chais seems ot be loving it! and :smiliedance:for your DH and the new job!

Well DP is off drinking with friends and i am home babysitting!! unlike you ems i made him drive and said if he drinks to much he can walk home! it'll only take 20 minutes to walk and get the car in the morning. He swears he won't drink much but i am sure he will come crawling into bed at some ridiculous hour!

Went suit shopping today and i cannot believe how expensive it is for a nice suit!! we are spending nearly $1000 on 2! i know DP will wear them almost everyday but thats crazy! oh and i got a new stroller to take overseas, the maclaren vogue and i love love love it!! so different to the strider

ems if you just hit the forward button on your browser it brings your post back - I've had that happen to me heaps.

no personals from me though have read all posts, I'm buggered.

Went and got my blinds today, stopped by the nursery to get some big pots for the 2 plants out the front door, sanded the bathroom and main toilet window sills and painted them, vacuumed, 2 loads of washing plus the bed sheets, went to westfield to go to supermarket for a few things, also bought lunch and some more xmas paper. Man it was so busy in there, am glad I can get there during the week, there was cars lining up to get in and lining up to get out. I had to drive up 6 levels to the top and it was still a cue, I was going to just forget it, but lo and behold a park materialised in front of me as someone left so I took it as a sign. Shouldn't have though, so busy in there you could barely move, very frustrating.

Summer isn't going half as well as what Mr G seems to be going on the farex c38. Wonder if it's maybe too soon for her. She'll open her mouth now and then, but doesn't seem hungry for it or totally interested.

Catch you all tomorrow

Morning Girls

How is everyone.

Well I took both girls Xmas shopping yesterday, blo0dy awful, but managed to get a few things, in hindsight they were both very good, but it was so hot, and I had a wonky trolley from Big W...but mission accomplished. Mum and I are going to the Plaza (Maroochydore) tommorrow, I will only have Miss C so it will be easier.

We did the Xmas tree yesterday, Miss A insisted on decorating herself..well what can I say, bald spots here and there, clashing baubles next to each other, but she thinks its "beautiful", will have to post a pic, gone are the Chistmas's with an immaculate tree. But, Christmas is for kids, not adults!

She also chose some "lovely" xmas paper, with cnady canes all over it, told her she can wrap any pressies from her in it, and Ill use the paper I chose. She is so excited.!

She recited a rhymn yesterday, her best friend taught her about sex....I asked her what is sex? She then tolding me its sloppy kissing. So I said, thats not sex, sex is a special cuddle mummy and daddy have when they want to have a baby.

Far out...do you guys think I told her the right thing, I was gob smacked, but had to say something.

Now you girls losing weight are awsome!! Go girls.

I still cant budge the last kilo or so. Before DD1 I was 53kgs, when I foud out I was preg with DD2 I was 53.5, now Im 55kgs. Im very happy, when standing I have a flat tummy, but when sitting have a few spare tyres, which I never had after having DD1, annoying, much nothing to winge about.

Going to try to get a good Xmas pci of the girls, go to officeworks today and get some card stationery and make my own Xmas cards. Will also wrap they pressies we got yesterday and put under the tree.

all you 50-something kg girls are making me want to starve myself. I was twice that at 40 weeks pg! And haven't lost too much since :( I keep thinking "when the weather gets cooler I'll walk" or "I should find a yoga class" but i don't do either. I am super lazy. Luckily I am tall - 180cm so I can almost pull it off, but I'd love to lose about 20kg. I think I need help though. I told DH maybe we could walk after he gets home from work, b/c I can't do it on my own. But he rides his bike to work and after working all day and riding home is pretty knackered. Hi girls, hope you are all doing ok - MOS and babywez - I'm a list girl too, gotta write it down or I forget it.

Well DD and I are still sick - I'm convinced it's the flu rather than a cold and poor little DD is so congested. She seems ok in herself but has been sleeping a lot (apart from 2.30 this morning when she wanted to play!). Getting OH to go to the pharmacy on the way home from work and see if he can get us something. I've been taking cold and flu capsules but they haven't had any effect - took Nurofen last night too as I thought my head was going to explode.
Been at DD with the nose frieda thingy sucking her snot out (it's not as disgusting as it sounds - as there's a filter which stops any uckys going into your mouth):o I think she's beginning to realise that it does feel better once I've done it so doesn't struggle as much. Poor little thing.
Trying to motivate myself to do some more around the house today but boy it's hard looking after a little one when you feel so crappy yourself.

I think that was perfect sk6. I couldn't have come up with something better. My mum told me when I was around that age that it's something very special for a mummy and daddy, so very similar. Don't think I was scarred for life from it or anything!

I too am jeaous of your height... which you should keep in mind when we're all talking weights. I'm 156cm tall so very short. That my put it into perspective a little - you have heaps more space to spread out your weight but I need another 20cms or so and I'll be happy! :D

We went and checked out the new shop at Rouse Hill this morning. It was so nice. We forgot it was Sunday and arrived at 9:15 this morning... so we had a coffee while we waited for the shops to open. I hate it when you order raisin toast and they bring it out with the butter on the side. The butter only goes on properly when the toast is still hot and by the time they bring it, the toast doesn't melt the rock hard little sh!tty piece of butter they give you! :hair:

Well I feel much better now and DH has just spoken to his mum about putting up a Christmas tree and she's cool with it, so I'm off to assemble and decorate. Yay! :smiliedance:

Oh we bought Sam some cute little brown leather sandles this morning and I got a nice green top from Esprit (love everything in that shop!).

Oh I know I'd look sickly at 50-something kg's, but would really love to be 75-80. I think that would be healthy.

Y'know, before I had Nicklas, I was convinced my kids would get spanked/smacked. I was smacked as a kid, not sure if it did any good, but I don't think it did any harm. And I understand the theory of if you smack them once, you (hopefully) never have to do it again. BUT, our neighbours have 2 small kids - 3 and 4 years old, and they are right terrors. The little boy is always yelling and screaming, and he's always saying, "Hi Daddy, daddy hi! Daddy hi!" like he's always trying to get his attention. Today, that father smacked that boy I don't know how many times. And the kid just SCREAMED and got so upset. He is 4 years old! It just broke my heart. I mean, the kids drive me up the wall, I don't think there's too much discipline there, but when there is, its apparently smacking and yelling. I've become sure the kid acts out so much to get daddy's attention, then he does, but always seems to get in trouble. If nothing else it has definitely made me re-think my "pro-smacking" stance. Its not like this father asked the kid 3 times not to do something. I didn't hear anything before the smacking ensued. So I'm not even sure what it was about. Poor kids.

DH had to bring a car home for the weekend b/c it has issues. I just used it to return a DVD ... omg so lovely. We drive a 98 Daewoo wagon and this is an 08 or 09 Skoda wagon, fully loaded. I don't want to give it back :hissy: Too bad we don't have a spare $40k. We're trying to hold on to the daewoo (which is actually my grandmother's) until after we get back from the States, then get something newer. But it won't be anywhere near as nice as this wagon.

BB...I'm going to be naughty and consume too much wine tonight. Going out with besty and her hubby. Mum is here to babysit :smiliedance:. Lunch tomorrow with some playgroup mums and back to the daewoo :(

I'm a firm believer in monkey see, monkey do. I was also smacked as a child but nothing major, just more of a tap really and I knew not to argue with that. I don't want Sam to be one of those kids that goes around smacking other kids though. I know of someone very close to me who yells at her daughters... they all yell back.

Well Gabriel has two teeth just through the gum on the bottom, and just now I think I could see a pinhead spot on the top gum.. Though it may be one of these little white cyst things he gets on and off, (was born with one). They look more lke a whitehead on the gum.
So no wonder the last week has been a grizzle fest:yes:. I'm hoping it's not a tooth up top as I'd be nice to get back a more content boy for a week or so.

I just met up with some girls from work..some of the 10 that just had bubs. One was saying how she rang the childcare centre that I am also on the list for to enquire how placement is looking for next year. She was told that there were only three places for new babies next year, and that even though she's been on their list for over a year and calling monthly, shes not likely to get one of them, though as she has been so consistant they will try and find her at least one afternoon or something:eek: I have only been on their list for 4mths as I didnt know you had to call while preggers.... So I'm stressing now. I'd rather find a good Family Day Carer though to be honest. I was told that they are not interested in booking you until you know exactly what you will be working ...which I don't. But I think I'll phone them tommorrow anyhow just to sus that out..and at least let the co-ordinator know we are about.
I also found out that they had a get together last Friday with some of the other girls with older and newer bubs. Seems I wasn't invited... which did upset me a bit.. but anyhow. Guess some still see me as "the boss" or something. Nevermind.

BB: So glad you had a good time I bet they were really great.... I'm a bit jealous, but I know I wouldnt enjoy going out or the evening just yet, knowing mum would be struggling with settling little G.
He does seem to be more consistent in his evening behaviours though (even with the toothies) so I am hopefully going to try going back to dance class one night this week, and leaving a little early so I'm home by 8pm

Bella:hugs:hope you're feeling better soon

SK6 i think you did very well with the sex question. Answering honsetly, but not giving full on intimate details that she probably doesn't need to know just yet. The book "Where Did I come from" is really good when you think she is ready. There's also a book in the series called "What's happening to me" that talks about pubity, which is really good. Scary that some girls are getting their periods now at age 10!!

re the smacking. I'm with you MOS. My mum used to often give me a"tap" on the leg with the back of the hairbrush when I'd cry at having my long hair brushed. She stopped after she saw me acting out the same thing with my doll...except I hit my doll so hard I broke the brush!!.. I think many parents will very ocassionally hit their child on the back of the hand or side of leg out of shock..ie the child is caught doing something really dangerous/ or nasty...but I think in the long run it's not an effective means of discipline. Just teaches them that violence is a means of solving problems

As for weight loss.... I seem to be stuck again. Though at least I havent gained. Hopefully the weather will be nicer here again soon so I can walk more , as I think that was what helped me lose 900gm a week or so ago. I'm also resolving not to eat to much cr@p between now and christmas, with an aim of losing 2kg between now and then

Kotakai - I know for a face I wouldn't cope with 3 little ones and morning sickness you poor thing.

Hope you feel better soon! Same for Kotakai with the ms.

Go Master G with the teeth. C38, your weight lose plan sounds good.

Something funny(rather sad), this afternoon DH says "You have something dark under your eye, hey its actually under both eyes", I say "yes its dark circles, because Im so flipping tired.

I know both girls sleep well, but Im up from 5am everyday, DH doesnt do ANYTHING in the house..I work 3 days a week, plus do all the school runs, lunches and homework, plus all the home finances. I had a go at him last night because he didnt know how to heat Miss C dinner, I told him I need help, his answer was he goes to work, arrrggghh!!!!

Plus every Sunday night the house is a tip...feel like Im picking up after 3 kids instead of two.

Sorry for the vent, as I said Im a bit tired, and its hot and sticky.

Anyway, many thanks re your help with the sex question.

Hi Ladies!!

Sorry no personals - having trouble keeping up with you all!

We had a lovely day today doing the Christmas thing. We had photos with santa this morning which Austin was so good for. Cant wait to get them back (such good value at harvey norman - definitely recommend them!). Then we went and picked out a "baby's first xmas' decoration, and a special 2008 one (we pick one special one every year). Then I bought some snowman booties off EBay - so now he has the jumpsuit, booties, antlers and santa hat!

Funny story about the "Sex Talk". My nephew was given the book about six moinths ago and a very basic discussion about it. Last week he asked his mum what contraception was. She said that it is if you have sex but dont want to make a baby. He was mortified and said "Do you mean people do it for fun!" ...lol...That will be one for his 21st!

My other nephew was insisting to his mum that she tell him the truth about santa - and said to her "why dont you just tell me the truth". So, she went upstairs, sat him down and told him that Santa wasnt real. He cried for ages and said "But who ate the cookies...Oh, dad did". "But who made the footsteps..oh, dad did" Then he rolled over in bed and cried - as did his mum! Then, when he finished crying, he wiped away his tears - looked at his mum and said "Well, at least I know that the Easter Bunny is real!".....Oh dear! My SIL decided that while he was devistated anyway she may as well fess up to the toothfairy too!

I wonder how Dondons DH is going? dondons - if you're lurking, let us know!

c38 - teeth already! i thought Gab and Austin wouldn't get theirs for ages! Hope BF goes ok with them!

MOS - so much talk about this lemon cake - could you please PM me the recipe!

Anyway, sorry to :ecomcity: and run - but have to cook dinner - just thought I would pop in quickly to say hi!

I too am jeaous of your height... which you should keep in mind when we're all talking weights. I'm 156cm tall so very short.

Im 173 or 175 :o

and pre pregnancy 55kg. About that now I think I dunno.
I hit 51-52kg a month or so back cause breastfeeding was taking it out of me and I wasnt looking after myself
Im just naturally smaller frame..

Charlotte is same. She was taller than average. As tall as a 9pound baby and she was only 6 pounds. She weight and height at birth as I was.

I'm a firm believer in monkey see, monkey do. I was also smacked as a child but nothing major, just more of a tap really

Smacking for dicipline isnt a problem. Smacking to abuse is wrong.
Even the bible says dont spare the rod. Hey, it just depends on the degree.

It never hurt me. I only remember a smack a couple times in my life. Nothing huge. Im relatively sane and healthy now lol

Where did you get the term "*****" at 2 years old!??! I remember being yelled at for calling my sister a lesbian. I had no idea what it meant!

Had an ok night last night. Felt very old and frumpy. Went to listen to besty's sister's fiance (follow?) play in his brazillian band. Lots of young yuppie-types at this bar, possibly some schoolies and a few salsa dancers. I felt like a grandma! Drank too much wine, but Nick slept until 4:30, so I got a good chance to sleep it off. Thank God. Hoping we both go back to sleep at his 7 am feed.

Oops! Typo. I was 12!

My little sister used to refer to the old Lebanese couple across the road as "the lesbians". (She was 2 yrs old) She used to get the words mixed up. So I guess I married a lesbian! :D

Well today I'm doing a few loads of washing. I've already done one and then I've stripped our bed and changed the sheets, etc over. I've stripped Sam's bed and that one's next. Sam's now napping. I had a grapefruit for brekky and had forgotten how good they are! And I'm going to go for a walk for Sam's afternoon nap and when he's asleep I'm going to stop at a park and lay down and read my book for as long as it lasts! Tonight for dinner I'm going to do quick froxen fish and chicken crumbed thingies and I'm making a roast veggie salad. I'm going to roast diced pumpkin and zucchini with pine nuts and then once it's warmed down I'm going to toss it with rocket (fresh from the FIL's garden) and finish with a balsamic garlic dresssing (bought from Woolies). So it's a quick and easy meal tonight and I can't wait.

I made more of Sam's puree's last night. (k8y, are you off playing with your new gadget as we speak?! :D).

Anyway will pop back in a little later. Have a wonderful day all.

Nick is napping, too. I had to txt one of the other mums from playgroup tell her I'd be late. Some of us are meeting up for lunch. Then I'm going to try and finish this Christmas shopping once and for all. Then we get to see the proofs of Saturday's photos this arvo. Can't wait! There should be at least 5 or 6 good ones. :fingerscrossed:

hi girls
well dylan i swear is the bloody energiser baby. im so tired...... the first 8 weeks he didnt sleep at all then miraculously starting sleeping 9 hours through sadly only lasted a few weeks then has been on 3 hourly feeds mostly since then occassionally dropping to 2 hourly feeds but lately. he goes down at night sleeps 1 hour, yes 1. then feeds then sleeps 3 hours then feeds then plays for 3 hours, yes in the middle of the night then sleeps maybe 2-3 hours although this 2- 3 hours my other ds will constantly wake me up. mum im hungry, i cant change the channel, i cant find my superman shirt, haileys is looking at me, mum its boring when are u waking up?:hair: then dylan is back up and thats it. day started. weve been doing this for weeks now with 3 nights last week when dylan and i were sick when i actually spent the entire not even getting to fall asleep once, dylan was up all night. not sure how much longer i can cope:crying:. i know he is teething. and he has had heaps of colds. he is having solids and is steadily gaining weight so shouldnt be that hungry ive tried the bottle and he absolutely hates it. ive wrapped, unwrapped. dummy, no dummy. he just doesnt seem to need much sleep at all, but i do. feels better just getting that vent out thanks guys
on the smacking ive smacked both my kids a few times, open hand on the bum just once. dd i smacked once for spitting once for swearing and once for repeatedly throwing rocks at cars. she never did any of them again and i thought hey im a genious. what perfect parenting ha then i got ds..... well he has had a few smacks in his time and he has most certainly deserved them but they in no way worked he usually did the bad behaviour again straight away, he usually hit back staright away and i just realised it didnt work at all for him. i think for some kids the fear of a smack does them no harm and keeps them in line a bit. others the real brats like my ds it just doesnt work all my son learnt from it was to hit someone if they are not doing what he wants and i guess that makes sense doesnt it. he has a rewards chart were we reward his good behaviour and a consequence chart where he loses his things for bad behaviour. wouldnt say it works miracles but then he is particularly diffcult
mos shall we be there say at 6? dinner sounds great:D
babywez i too am longer anywhere near the 50 kg range but im not even tall. im the same height as mos 156 cm so very short. i just seem to grab what i can fast as i run out the door and never make time to eat healthy. excuses excuses...................
hmb  thats story is funny
sk6 i try to take the stance of if they ask me any questions no matter how embarrassing i try to answer them honestly but age appropiately. i think u did just fine. my dd 11 has a good understanding of sex but my ds5 wouldnt have a clue. the only thing he has asked was howd the baby get in there when i was preg. he was only 4 so i told him mummy and daddy made it, thats it. im sure he will ask more again another time.
wow c38 teeth! i think dylan is cutting his "on the cross"? getting ones up the side/back first poor bubba
this lemon cake, mos u are gonna have to post it in the thread everybody wants it including me;)
hehe ive put some pressies for my kids under the tree now to torture them, its driving them crazy

SMO3, I'm all tired now after reading your post! What a crappy sleep pattern you're stuck in. I now feel lucky... even when Sam woke up twice during the night. At least I'd get some sleep between his feeds.

Well Sam's awake and grumbling next to me so this will only be a short one.

SMO3, am I allowed to post a link to a ninemsn page? It's a Women's Weekly page. I you Google "Moist Lemon Cake" it's the first link that comes up. Doesn't matter if you search Australian pages or the whole internet.

I got most things done today. Although when I went for my walk I forgot my book so I came back home. I went to Woolies to grab a few things and then I came back and started organising dinner. The thing is, over the weekend, when the SIL's came over, it appears they finished off the pine nuts and the olive oil spray. Both of these things are a main part of my meal and I made sure I had them the other day so I didn't think I needed to check they were STILL there. I don't care if they use them but at least TELL ME so that I can buy some more. :hair:

So dinner is half done but I'm waiting for DH to grab some olive oil spray on the way home...the IL's just went out and got pine nuts as they were going to the fruit store anyway.

Oh and one more whinge: You know how we were talking the other day about how if someone tells you to do something, you automatically feel like doing the opposite? Well I walked to Woolies and Sam fell asleep in the pram. So I left him in it by the back door. The IL's were asleep on the lounges and I kept on checking on him... So the MIL woke up and as she was leaving said "You have to bring him inside because I'm going out now". So I said "No he's fine". She stopped and paused then said "Please Claire, don't leave him outside. I worry for him. Take him inside".... so getting a little sh!tty at this point, I said "no". She just stared at me. Why is he OK outside when SHE'S home but when she goes out, I have to bring him inside? She wasn't sitting out there with him or anything. So I said to her "I'm coming outside in a minute to get washing in but you need to remember I'd never let anything bad happen to him because he's my son". I just can't stand it when people tell me what to do with my own son. Like I'm a bad mum and I'm going to leave him out there all alone. Gggrrr. Sorry. Vent over.

Hey girls,

Ooh, secret santa draw Lambkin! Exciiiting! :xmas:

Sk6 - I think you handled the sex question perfectly. That's all she needs to know at that age, I think. Aw gosh, I just want my little girl to stay little forever, lol.

Babywez - I'm 178cm, so I hate hearing about all these 50kg people too  I'm 70kg atm, but I want to get down to 67kg at least. The thinnest I've been was 61kg, but for me that wasn't healthy... a bit obsessive with diet and exercise, and AF stopped, things like that :o.

Bella - hope you and your little miss feel better soon.

Re: the smacking debate... my sister and I only ever recieved one smack each, and that's because we each did something dangerous - I ran away from Mum and Dad towards a road after being told very clearly to stay with them. Can't remember what Jayne did, but that was all we needed. The rest of the time Mum just gave us 'the look' and we knew to stop what we were doing. Or I remember if we were fighting, she'd tell us to get outside because she didn't want us fighting in the house. And we'd stop. hmmn.. think I'm going to have to prob Mum for tips  I don't intend to smack my kids, but if they did something life threatening that they knew better about, I think they'd get a smack, just to get the message drummed in.

:hugs: for the sleep deprived Mummies - BB and SMO3. My little angel has slept all of 40 minutes today, I reckon. She is soo cranky right now. Early night for her.

DP has a job interview tomorrow - it's for the mines doing a fair bit of travel throughout QLD, which is what he's been looking for. Good money too, so fingers and toes crossed he gets it.

Umm, what else? Oh, MOS, that lemon cake was a huge hit. My old boss luuurved it. And she's the sort of person to tell you straight out if something is cr*p, lol. DP was a bit put out I didn't leave any at home for him, so will have to make another.

DD was meant to get her shots today, but our Doctor was sick, so we're rebooked for next Monday.

Anyhoo, better get some dinner organised for the little miss.

Far out batman....

DH is in bed, I just had to kill the biggest spider in our lounge room. Normally Im not too fussed about spiders, but after getting an email about the newly discovered brown recluse spider and seeing pictures of what happens to the bite area, Im not taking any chances.

Im now wide awake..grrr

Awww~! I didn't shower for a few days because there were a couple of Daddy Long legs' in the shower. I didn't want to wash them down the drain, but I was too scared to move them! hehe. They've moved on now so yaaay I am clean again ;)

Lambkin- i am glad you are back and feeling better! i got my hot milk bra in the mail the other day too and i love it!! saving it to be unveiled at DP's birthday next wednesday because the only reason i got it was because i told him it was a present for both of us!! SMO3 dylan is gorgeous...beautiful eyes

Oconky sounds like your day was very productive compared to mine

Kotakai: I'd hate to have to share at times like Christmas(a reason why I'm kinda glad Gabes father wanted nothing to do with him, I'm kind of petrified he will change his mind one day purely for this reason)

What beautiful pics, c38. Looks great with the wings (and the d'lish, obviously). I have a red pair of wings.. maybe I can steal your idea and use them for some snaps with El? You don't mind do you?? You have inspired me!
Also.. Elliot is behaving the same way as G at the moment it seems. He's really clingy and whingy whenever I am not holding him. It's driving me nuts, I must admit. Have you managed to get some time on your own?

Poor kids.

I don't believe in smacking kids for any reason, although I do understand it when it's for their safety. I can't remember who told the story about being smacked for doing something really dangerous, but I can understand it under those circumstances. I agree with MOS though.. Monkey see, monkey do.
I was in a parent's room the other day and a woman was abusing her kid for wetting his pants and threatening to smack him. It was absolutely awful. I would have said something, but I know it would have been like talking to a brick wall.

did u end up with an even number of people in secret santa lambkin?

We ended up with 17 in total! But that's okay. I just did it as a kind of loop.. if that makes sense. Lol. Everyone got someone, at any rate.

I decided not to include 1MUM1. She hasn't replied to any of my messages and my last message from her was 2 weeks ago. MOS made a good point that she may have just signed up on a whim and is now AWOL, and MOS is right.. it would be awful for whoever she drew to not get anything because she never came back to check her email. I will send her a PM now to tell her, just in case she comes on again. I feel pretty bad about it, but I'll stand by my decision.

Oh and about letting the kids watch telly... we don't even have a TV! We are freaks. Although Elliot is drawn to it when we are at Mum's or at my sister's, but I don't put it on for him to watch or anything. It's so weird though that some ads make him stop what he is doing and STARE at the TV until it's over. How scary is that. Has anybody else noticed this?? It's just certain ones.

Some news from us - We had our photo taken with Santa (well, Elliot did) and it was so sweet. First thing he did was pull his beard down. I wish she'd snapped a photo then - it would have been great! Luckily there were no other kids waiting, so no awkward "Mummy why did Santa's beard come off?" questions for other parents to answer! Ha!
Elliot is still a little unsetlled in our new house and new bed. I asked about it in another section of BH and the girls suggested that maybe it's because it has a different smell so that's something to consider!! Hopefully he settles down soon. He is so restless aaall night that DP and I haven't been getting much sleep. Feeling suitably blah, I can tell you.
Also.. I gave Elliot some pureed green peas with asparagus last night and he has an awful rash on his scrotum today. He's had peas before with no problems, so we thought maybe the asparagus made his wee a bit burny?? I don't really know though. Hmmm..

hi all very excited about secret santa!!!!thanks soo much lambkin.

about smacking, I am hoping not to do it, however I think with this whole parenting thing there are always going to be things you say you'll never do! I certainly want to be someone who talks to their kids not yells ( like our neighbour) as the kids just yell back....very annoying and not really conducive to learning anything.

mos sounded like a nice dinner...hmm have to buy some pine nuts love them in salads.

c38 and all others with teething bubs:hugs::hugs:and all with non sleeping bubs, Pip is still Ok has the 2 bottom teeth now but is still whingy so not sure if there are more coming through can't feel anything or the 2 are still bothering her. she is slowly waking up earlier back from 7 to 4.30am ???

lambkin I have heard that asparagus has a distinct smell in pee so it is possible he is reacting to it hope he is all better soon.

BB good luck with the cake....have a good night all and have fun shopping for secret santa

yay for secret santa.

Argh I am waay to indecisive though. I want to get it right, you know :) hrrmmmm

I have personals for pretty much everyone but I forget now.. ive been keeping up to date but just haven't felt too sociable lately lol

I started feeding Charli separate vegies in a meal (ie - not mixed all in together) tonight.
She is pretty clingy still to me but she's such a joy at same time. Despite her "brat" moments Im so in love. Aren't they at a lovely age at the moment.

Lambkin, could El's rash be heat rash or something other than food? Maybe try to eliminate both foods for a few days and then try each one at a time about a week apart and see which one it is. And about him being un-settled, do you ever get that feeling when you wake up in the middle of the night and you don't know where you are? Like when you're on holidays or something? Maybe he wakes up and just gets a little shocked or something? Or maybe it's something completely un-related. Hi teeth might be giving him more pain or something and it's just coincidence about it happening when you moved into the granny flat. Good luck with it though.

What a bad Dr if he/she couldn't make himself better!

I hope your DP gets that job. Mines pay well. How sad that he will be away from you at times though...

Glad the cake went down well too!

stg I know what you mean, I haven't felt overly social either, but I'm just tired.

BB & SMO3 Summer too is waking up all the time. I'm so over it  I fed her at 10.30pm, 2.30am then 5.30am, 2 times while lying down as couldn't keep eyes open properly. Why is she doing this and why won't it stop :hissy:

Yay for secret santa. I have got my pressie and am so worried that X will not like it.

MOS your lemon cake is popular. Rather then making 2 for the christening, I made one lemon one and the other I did the same recipe but made it an orange cake. Very Very Noice! Hmmm that reminds me I wouldn't mind the Kath & Kim DVD set for xmas. Have just started watching it on channel 7 now and love it.

Xmas tree is up :smiliedance: I also today got some 'snow spray' for the windows!' from Big W thinking to spray the edges but should have got some stencils to spray santa faces, snowmen etc.

Today, went into city to get the booklet paper I wanted. Went to an outer suburb to the printers, was ages there sorting it out. Turns out much cheaper to print the middle section in colour at home, so am doing that now. Needed a yellow cartridge though so got that from Big W and just now halfway through and run out of magneta colour :hair: Will have to duck down really quickly in morning to get it as need to be at printers for them to print cover page and do the wire coil binding tomorrow and I'm taking Summer to her swimming at 10am as she can't go on Saturday because of her christening. We also went to shops and I bought some pretty candles for the bathroom (for bath meditation ;)), some new handtowels (ours are shoddy and lots of people tromping through our house on Saturday), a cupcake stand and a few other bits and pieces.
Summer was so overtired she spent half the time screaming :o and me trying to calm her but I didn't have time to come back to shops so I kept trying to put her to sleep. Did a 10 min power nap eventually and that got her through till home but she's been a right sod all night.
Just put her down now and am thinking I should be having an early night.

lambkin thank YOU for organising the SS. Your a gem and it's so much fun! lol about the santa beard!

ems Yay! for your sister. You sound very proud.

Am sure I've missed more personals as have spent so much time blathering about myself.
Will be back on track once all this christening business is over and can settle in and start looking forward to xmas.

mil rang to tell us the moon is a smiley face? dunno if anyone else noticed but apparently it wont happen again for 30 odd yrs. the way the stars and moon line up anyway dd and i wandered out the front took us like ten mins to even find the moon:o:laughing: we have lots and lots of big big trees in our area
yay ems :yelclap: congrats for your sister
k8y it gets tiring doesnt it, i honestly cant believe he isnt tired he sleeps so little but when he is awake he is quite happy and content which is fine during the day but at night:hair: maybe i should buy a playpen to put him in and ill just curl up on the floor and sleep next to it instead of spending all night trying to fight him back to sleep

Oconky - Khirra's been waking earlier lately as well. Got a bit of a sleep in today until 5.30, but yesterday she was up and ready to go at 4am. Good times

What a bad Dr if he/she couldn't make himself better!

I hope your DP gets that job. Mines pay well. How sad that he will be away from you at times though...

 Yeah, I was thinking I'd have a go at him next week. He's a friend of the family - my aunty is his receptionist. Which is great, but I have to go an get a Pap Smear sometime... I'm almost considering going to a general clinic just to avoid that situation :o

And DP shouldn't be away really - just a day or two every now and again. He's a mechanical engineer, so it's not a fly-in, fly-out job as such. I've already banned him from that sort of work ;)

Evening all!

I hauled the box with our Christmas tree out today, grabbed the bags of decorations, and then got a massive attack of the CBF's, so may just have to put the tree up tomorrow!

Am looking forward to going shopping tomorrow for my Secret Santa pressie! Not sure what to get yet, might scroll back through old posts and work out what the bub might like or need:detective:

Ems - have my :fingerscrossed:for your DP tomorrow!

Lambkin - there a couple of local ads that make Liam stop and watch TV. One is for a local baby/kids-ware shop. The thing that gets me is that the ad is nothing special, but it obviously works! The other one is an annoying phone scheme ad that DH used to complain about each time it was on. Now Liam hears the jingle and knows that theres "something" about the ad so he watches it

Also, I agree with the others regarding the asparagus may have something to do with the rash, as asparagus affects pee somehow (not sure how as I dont eat it)

Big:hugs:to all bubs cutting their teeth. I dont think Liam will be for a while, although I gave him a rusk to chomp on the other day and he loved it - I didnt realise they were so gosh darned messy though!

Also big :hugs:to mums whose bubs are waking up throughout the night all of a sudden. I think we are coming to the end of that phase here, but that was us for the last month or so, so frustrating when you know that they CAN sleep through the night, they just suddenly ARENT.

Morning ladies

SMO3 how did Dylan go last night?
Summer wasn't too bad, think cause she was so exhausted. Was asleep by 8pm and woke at 3am then 5.40am then 7am. Is now very whingy.
Summers quirk is that she likes to lay on her left side and scratch her nails against the sheets with her left hand.
Yuk vegemite on the couch.

Kyles good idea. Might do a review of the posts by doing a search to see whats been going on in X's life :detective:

Far out how do people plan and organise parties and still work full time? I don't work and I think I need a PA to do so running around for me :D preferably while I laze by the pool with Summer.

I went and got my brows done on Sunday and for 20mins laying on that contoured bed, in the air con, with the sweet smells, candles and calming music did me SUCH the world of good that am thinking of buying a meditation CD or something calming so I can have quiet time now and then when Summer is asleep. God knows I won't get this chance when no. 2 bub comes along
Anyone else meditate?

Morning ladies, how is everyone.

i am off soon to head down the shops and buy a present for my SS, going to be hard keeping it at $10.

we are having some family portraits done on saturday, and i have no idea what we all should wear??? any suggestions?

i am having a party in a few weeks, it's an 80's theme i have been into so many op shops digging through all the clothes, just have to buy a top now, i am going for the whole modonna look with black footles tights, black skirt and a shirt off the shoulder, found my old crimper too so going to crimp my hair and DD's too.

Kobi is starting to roll again, it's so funny he starts rolling does it constantly for a week or two then stops and doesn't do it again for weeks.
he is also teething, poor thing is chomping on anything and everything, i hope they cut soon and give him a bit of relief.
when DD's 1st few teeth cut we didn't even notice, she was so good with it.

yesterday was the 1st time in over 2 weeks i have been able to drive up my driveway, we have had plumbers replacing pipes and they had to rip up half the driveway, then we waited a week for them to fill the hole in and concrete and another 4 days waiting for the concrete to set.
i am so glad i can now drive to the front door and unload the kids and all the other stuff.

well best be off and hang out the washing before i leave.

have a good day everyone :D

Ive been meaning to ask this but now its been asked I cant remember all that she does.

She is very touchy feely. Just holding her hand calms her right down, if she is upset in the car, or restless in bed at night.

Also, she is a horror with her nappy changes, she pushes herself back, rolls, squirms and screams and it can take 20 times longer than usual to change it.But if I give her the remote control she is fine and keeps still and quiet. She is obsessed with remotes. She gets this glazed over loving smile and expression on her face if I give it to her (only on special occasions) lol. She is so funny with it. Nothing else has the same effect

You are very welcome! It's a pleasure to do it. It's so fun to organise.

Thanks hon! I was thinking it might be a heat rash too as it was scorching yesterday and he was a bit sweaty. I'm going to give him lots of nappy free time today and hopefully that will help a bit. I've been using calendula on the rash and it seems to be helping.
And YES I totally know that feeling! I got up one night on holidays and went to walk out of the dark room as if I was at home. Ran straight into a wall!

morning,

no caps as feeding as i type.

i'm trying to decide whether to go practical or cute for ss.

we are definately part if the no sleeping group. I cant even settle lara anymore unless shes on the boob  it's madness.

I just found this great baby food it's from coles and called raffertys garden, it has no extras at all and lara loves them. They also have apples in with their veges and they taste really good. So anyone who wants home cooked without the home cooking they are great.
I feed lara solids between boobi feeds coz i am trying to get her to feed every 4 hours as it is every 3 atm.

Dh got into uni, it's going to be a tuff 4 years but will be smooth sailing after that. We have decided we will definately go on a holiday before he starts.
There's a gorgeous resort on the gold coast so i think we will try and get away for 10 days.
Queensland girls... apart from the major theme parks and oz zoo what is there to do that is family friendly??

I am writing out all of my xmas cards today, tree went up on weekend, i cant wait xmas will be great this year! Dh picking up the stockings today had the girls names put on them but gosh it was $$$ $10 a name and i wanted middles names on aswell so $40!

It's windy and cold here, what happened to summer? Think i'll sit on here all day, maybe watch a dvd when the girls sleep this arvo.

Ooh yeah Elliot loves the Rafferty's Garden stuff chaiseandlarasmummy. I love that it doesn't have anything added. We use them when we go out cause there's easier to cart around and I just squeeze it out onto a spoon. Yeeha!
I sound like a rep for them, don't I? Haha
Only prob is they are nearly $2 each and I've never ever seen them on special, whereas the heinz zstuff always seems to be 5 for $5!

Summer loves her swimming. She was paddling her arms, kicking her legs and laughing. Great fun, DP certainly gets the best of her on her usual Saturday morning class.

Anyways, she's down for a nap as only got 20mins before we had to leave. She seemed to go off easily with the Tomy light and tune I've got strapped on her cot. Wonder if thats a once off or if it works  If it works, am going to stock up on batteries for it :D

candlsmummy theme parks are our main attraction. The zoo on the coast is good too, the Currumbin Sanctuary, your girls will love it there. It's a must. Also for shopping, you should go to Pacific Fair, the huge big pink building next to Jupiters Casino. Babywez might have some more ideas for you. The Spit is a great place for swimming in the water without the ocean waves and picnics there too.

Summer is on the Rafferty's Garden rice cereal. She's not overly fussed on eating solids yet, so I'm going to give her a weeks break and try again, so MOS no I haven't used my bebedelice yet :hissy: Plenty of time later and I'll be sick of using it

SMO3 meant to say we saw the smiley face too. Someone rang us, then I rang my mum (and woke her up) to get her to see it, but she couldn't as tree lines, houses in way etc as it wasn't high in the sky. Very cool

BB how did Casey go last night?

I try to check Summers teeth if they're coming up but she keeps sticking her tongue out or turning away.....

Hi girls,

I'm back online. I ended up with mastitis twice and Michael is sick too. He got a chest infection and has to be on a ventilator every 3 hrs for a week. But I think we have reached the end of the tunnel and things are looking better.

Thanks Lambkin for organising SS. This is so much fun.

Kotokai - Hope you are feeling okay. Oh go for another one. You will forget this moment!

I'm coming back soon with a new name so look out for me.

Oh and I'm soooooooooooooo tempted to do a little something extra with the gift as well.:confused::confused:
However, i think it's only fair that we stick to the $10 if we can to accommodate everyone's means and budgets :) I wouldn't want anybody to get upset that they received more than they had given out. I know you all understand. Thanks girls!!

Hrrmm but what if I dont care about what I get but still want to add something else despite that I know its 10 that I will get??

I don't know why Casey is waking??? he does get out of his wrap could it be that, that wakes him?
as he doesn't wake with a huge scream its more talking/grizzle  then it turns into screaming.

Chais was the same, but since I started using the woombie, I've had no probs. He even gets 1 arm out now & still stays asleep! He's almost outgrown this one so I need to get the large one. I'll be putting the new bub in it straight away, I wish I knew about them back when he was born.

DP has a job interview tomorrow - it's for the mines doing a fair bit of travel throughout QLD, which is what he's been looking for. Good money too, so fingers and toes crossed he gets it.

Good luck :fingerscrossed: for him.

Yay! Just spoke to my lil sis and her finance got approved! :smiliedance:

Congrats to them, how exciting!

And DP shouldn't be away really - just a day or two every now and again. He's a mechanical engineer, so it's not a fly-in, fly-out job as such. I've already banned him from that sort of work ;)

Do you know I've always wondered what FIFO stood for :o Thanks for that!!!!!!!

we are having some family portraits done on saturday, and i have no idea what we all should wear??? any suggestions?

If you're getting them in colour, def go co ordinated. Or denim jeans or shorts with a white shirt always looks great.

I was going to say Currumbin too. There are also some great parks around. Also, does she like rides like they have at the shops? My kids did at that age & in surfer's there's this great timezone, that has really good deals. They had a ball there. There's also a place that takes the cutest old fashioned photos. I've had quite a few done there. I'll scan them & post for you, sooooo cute!

Kotokai - Hope you are feeling okay. Oh go for another one. You will forget this moment!

 def no more for me. I think 4 is plenty!!!!! As it is my family think I'm insane having another one.

I'm so excited! I got my SS pressie today. I love it... and there's something a little funny to it - but still good and useful, etc. Hey, I know express post is only an extra dollar and much easier than packaging. So in the end, with return addresses, people are going to know where they're from, right? And I think we should all post a pic if possible once received. :D :yelclap:

I also got Sam and DH a combined pressie: a Manly teddy bear! :p

Homemade pizzas tonight. And pool tomorrow! :smiliedance:

Ohhhhhhhhh my gosh, so hot :dizzy:

lol Kotakai - glad I could inadvertantly help - I've never even seen the abbreviation FIFO yet

Kirilly's mum - :hugs: for your and Michael. Hope the poor tucker is back to normal in no time. Ventilators are not fun.

C&L'sMummy - Springbrook National Park has a place called Natural Arch there - it's a waterfall that's carved a hole into a cave. It's not a long walk to get to the actual waterhole, but at night it's filled with glowworms - you can take a night tour to see them. It might be a little hard with Lara at that hour, I guess, but Chaise would be old enough to get excited about the 'pretty lights' maybe? Here's a link, anyway:
http://www.queenslandholidays.com.au/things-to-see-and-do/natural-bridge-springbrook-national-park/index.cfm

Or if you drive up to Brisbane there's always Southbank and things... has the 'beach' and ferriswheel and things.

DP's interview went well. The recruitment guy is recommending him for the job, so he'll have another interview with the actual company. Waiting to see when that is now.

Gave DD those mixed frozen berries (obviously defrosted :p) with farex and formula today, so it was like berry smoothie, and it was the most fantastic purple colour, lol, so have some pics of Khirra with it all over her face. Will have to post one, it's a bit cute, lol

Speaking of which, should get some dinner happening for her.

Hi girls - well DD and I are feeling loads better today. Still really congested but we can handle that I think.
She loves to sleep with something over her head so I ended up cutting a muslin wrap from Target into 4 squares - now she has to have one of them to snuggle to and it is usually over her face while she drops off. I then go in and move it but it's so light I'm sure she'd be fine sleeping with it on her. They are so funny with their little quirks aren't they.

My OH has cooked up some apples and pears today so might try her on that in the morning. She's still only on 1 lot of solids a day. Loving pumpkin at the moment.

Whey hey for the interest rate going down - hope BankWest pass most of it on:yelclap::yelclap:

Oh good then. I might double check but I love berries and would love to be able to share some with Sam. This morning I was eating a mango for brekky and Sam started staring at it so I had the side bit, ate the squares off and then I held it up for him to have a little suck. I took it away and he absolutely squealed... gave it back, he sucked, took it away, squal again... Hmmm I think he liked it! ;)

Oh and Sam learned a new noise tonight. He screeched. That's the only way I could explain it but he just went "eeeeeeeeeeeehhhkkkk!" then giggled, and did it over and over again. Oh and now he splashed in the bath tub by kicking his feet and then he freezes and gasps as he gets water on his face, smiles slowly then does it again.

Tonight he rolled completely from back to tummy and pulled his arms up and held himself up. He could never pull his arms out from under himself until now. Then in the same movement, he pushed his legs up and tried to repel forward. He got up on his knees heaps. He just needs to get up on his arms at the same time now and we're in trouble I think.

Hope all bubs are a lot more settled tonight, and Mums get some decent:sleeping:. Take care!

took me awhile to figure out cbf but got it in the end!!!!

trying to remember everyone else....sorry!

I had mums group at my place today it was good but funny as Pip seemed to "take over" the play mat when I put her down, she is the eldest and seems to be getting a little bossy and taking toys off other kids already...funny thing is it is soo me ( the bossy bit not the stealing bit!) we couldn't decide if it eas just because it was at her place or cause she is the eldest!! I got given a jolly jumper to trial so will get that out tomorrow.

she also has a bit of a routine of rolling around and tossing her headbefore sleeping.

about TV for those of you with foxtel- the channel selection screen the bright blue- it is Pip's favourite!!!! he face just lights up when it is on.

Pip is doing well with the solids...has her second swimming lesson tomorrow and DH will be there so can get some photos.

thursday is my hopefully final xmas shopping day and I will get the ss pressie then...have no idea what to get???? I too am writing my address so we will know who gets what...but it is still a fun surprise.

Well well Gabriels teeth are through finally and yesterday he was such a different boy. Happy and giggling and played on the floor for about 20 minutes without whinging for the first time in weeks, even rolled over a few times both ways. Also had three decent sleeps of an hour each despite the fact that my father and brother were here building my deck....hamering and sawing. AND to cap it all off after fussing a bit and not settling to 11pm he slept through until 7. He did stir once at 1am but settled quickly with replacing his dummy and another blanket (it was Freezing here last night) and at 5am when my boobs woke me I peeked in to see him look around find his dummy, push the blankets out of his face and go back to sleep..
Today hes been abit whingy on ad off, but tonight went to sleep with rocking after a bf by 830... I was in my room nex.t to his trying on tops (family portraits tom) and I heard him wake and grizzle. I ignored him..and he rocked his head side to side a few times and went back to sleep in about 5 mins.

AM wondering if the aliens have replaced him:eek:

Be interesting to see how tonight goes.

I feel like a new woman. Though kind of weary like Ive had TOO much sleep..LOL

I am a bit stresed re childcare with all this ABC crash thing. A girl from work told me that the CCC Ive got his name down with, told her they only have three places so far for next year and that they are currently being offered to siblings of curent clients. I rang them and they ust said...keep ringing and expressing interest and cross your fingers. So I rang the family Day Care People today, and she was much more positive...even said there are a few new carers in my area that will prob have spots. I also heard from a mum in my Play Group that there is a great carer (her daughter went there)about 5 minutes walk from me and about 5 houses up from my aunt..so the agency are going to see if she has a spot for him. :fingerscrossed:

quick post, no personals. hope everyone is good tho.

it's 9:20 and Nicklas has been asleep since 5:30. I have a feeling he'll be wide awake at 2 am. This is NOT good. :no:He also slept almost 3 hours from 11:30 to 2:15 today. Wonder if he is getting sick or having a growth spurt?

In any case, my father and his woman came to dinner tonight to see him, and he was upstairs asleep through the whole thing. Found out my sister I don't talk to bought a brand new car, probably to the tune of $22k ... not sure if mum knows, she gives her and her fiance a break on rent in their place b/c of their "tough financial times" tough my ****. Mentioned that I had invited them to Christmas w/ no response, and step-mum says "Well at least if you invite them they have the choice, not like the Christening (naming day) where they weren't invited and didn't have a choice". Y'know, I don't invite them b/c I don't want them around my family, sorry if that makes you upset.

This whole thing is making me upset. I hate it. :gloomy:

/rant. Sorry. I should go to sleep, at this rate I might only get a few hours tonight. :(

Morning all!

Well Miss C had her proper first day at CC yesterday, she got sent home at lunchtime...they rang me sand said they couldnt settle her, she had been howling all morning, so I had to go and get her. She was happy as when I arrived, so the teacher was a little embarrassed. She said next Tuesday, see how she goes, I will ring at 11am to see if she is ok, and if not will go and collect her.
PITA, but what can I do, may have to ease Miss C into CC.

Will catch up on personals later.

babywez, how wierd about your "broke" sister buying a new car. Hmmm... So in short, your mum is paying for part of it? I can see how stressful it would all be. I hope she can't make it at Christmas for your benefit but even more so, I hope she at least lets you know so that you don't stress out about it for the next few weeks until the big day. :hugs:

Now silly question but when we send the present are you guys just writing From secret santa Bubhub?

Yeah I think I might write that too. Good idea. But I'm sure the person will know it's me when they read the address under it. I'm so excited! I've already wrapped mine, just waiting to get to the post office. Thanks again lambkin for organising. So do you know who got you then? You MUST! CHEAT!!! ;)

Well I've done soooo much washing today and I also helped the MIL undress  and re-dress... oh the poor thing can't do things for herself and I can tell it hurts her to ask... but I'm just not cut out for that kind of stuff. I thought she asked me to undress her so she could wash herself so I undressed and got out of the room but then she called me back and said she'd already washed her top half and still needed help getting her other top on. Stupid me left her stood in her room naked. It was like I couldn't wait to get away. I asked if she needed a towel and she said no and I was off like lightening! Anyway she's all sorted now. The other SIL came around and started to cook a lebanese meal. I watched because she had no idea and the MIL was talking her through it. The MIL uses LARD in her cooking. The SIL substituted olive oil in some spots without her knowing when she wasn't watching. We told both her and the FIL that it isn't good for their cholesterol. The FIL was sent home with a print out on how to lower his cholesterol without meds the other day and he's been doing really well, eating healthier, etc. But once the MIL is able to cook again it's sad to think all of his hard work will have gone down the drain when she start using her lard again. It's actually Ghee... YUCKO! Looks like lard to me! She just kept on saying that she HAS TO use it. Like she doesn't know you can use margarine or olive oil in it's place. I make my bechamel sauce using the Flora Pro Active.

Anyway I have high cholesterol too for the first time in my life and I now know why. I would put money on it that it's gotten heaps better since I've started cooking around here. I feel heaps better, I've lost weight, there's no oily feeling on your lips after dinner. I told DH what was for dinner tonight and he said he's not going near it. Me neither...

They never eat fresh fish and we used to eat it all the time. I might find a nice fish recipe for Friday. Any ideas ladies? The MIL hates salmon (we used to have salmon steaks with basmati rice and a bit of soy sauce a least once a fortnight).

Oh and sorry to ramble but DH and I had a chat last night. We both really want another baby ASAP. I told him I don't want another one whilst living HERE. So he had this plan: We start trying in March so if it did happen straight away (slim chances as still no AF), then Sam would be 18 months by the time no 2 is born. He said when it does happen, we will make plans to move out of here. We can either sell the unit and buy something else and if that seems possible, then we can even rent it out for 6 months until I'm a little further along and we can save a little more. Or worst case scenario, we can go back into our unit... which we both love. We can spend a few years there, with a very low mortgage, me not having to work, with our own space, etc.

So I think that's it. I will go off the pill in March and let nature take it's course. Once I fall PG, we will make plans to get the rock outta here by the time I'm around 7 months PG. Sounds like a plan... and I know things never go to plan but it's a start!

Ugh MOS just picturing lard going into anything I cook makes me gag a little! What will it take for her to realise? A heart attack?

That sounds like a great plan for moving out. :yelclap:How big is your unit? Would 4 of you be comfortable there for a few years?

I'm not going to continue birth control in Feb. when its time for the next shot. I don't anticipate getting PG right away, but I guess it could happen. Ideally we'd start trying in June, when Nick is 1, but I don't want to get another shot after what the last dr told me about it and I don't want to put an implant in only to take it out a few months later. We're pretty adamant that 2 will be our stopping point. I said "But if the next one is twins, we have to have a 4th" and DH said no.

Mum isn't paying part of my sister's car, she has a unit my sister rents from her, and she charges her well below what she could get for it, b/c my sister and her fiance have always had a tough time financially. Then she turns around and buys a $30k+ car? Just ****es me off that if she can do that, and have a huge car payment (sources have it she financed almost 100% of the car!) she could be paying mum more rent.

What contraception are you using, Im on the pill and constantly forgetting to take, so I need something else, as "DH" (not so dear this time) wont go and get the snip, which p!sses me right off!

Your sister sounds a bit spoilt, hope I dont offend saying that.

She's not spoilt...more selfish and inconsiderate! No, no offence here :)

I have had 2 depo provera shots (you get a shot every 3 months). The last dr I saw said that she's seen quite a few patients who stop getting the shot, and their body doesn't "reverse" very well. The shot stops your body from ovulating, so there can be complications getting your body to ovulate again when you stop the shot. She recommended Implanon ... an implant in your arm that is good for 3 years. It does the same thing, but reversal is immediate once you have it removed. Although someone mentioned issues w/ hormones being all over the place on this. There are other options out there than the pill...IUD is another one. Best to ask dr for ALL options.

Thanks Babywez, will have to get in to the dr to discuss. the thought of an IUD gives me the shudders..

 def no more for me. I think 4 is plenty!!!!! As it is my family think I'm insane having another one.

Oh my goodness hun. I can't believe they think you are insane. Children bring love into the home. The life that you and DH are creating can only add to that beautiful home environment you have.

I think I'm going to have to take Khirra swimming every day - she's been asleep for an hour 45mins so far .

It was soooooooooooo hot in the pool though! It's an indoor heated pool and my friend and I were sweating in the water. Insane.

MOS - so happy for you that you have a plan :yelclap: It just always feels better when you have a direction, doesn't it?

Sounds like a few of us might be in the same 'due in' threads again :p

BB - was Jake's party good fun? I can't wait until birthday parties and things...

Sucks about your sister Babywez  I have a stepsister who's a bit of a Princess like that. She drives me nuts.

Sk6 - those photos are gorgeous. My goodness your eldest is just you all over, isn't she?!:)

I've put some new pics on facebook... going to take some of her in a fairy dress a mate bought her for christmas photos tomorrow. Get to play dress up, lol.:D

stg! Hope you have a wonderful day!

Har-dee har har... It was PINK thank you!

babywez, how wierd about your "broke" sister buying a new car. Hmmm... So in short, your mum is paying for part of it? I can see how stressful it would all be. I hope she can't make it at Christmas for your benefit but even more so, I hope she at least lets you know so that you don't stress out about it for the next few weeks until the big day.

Yeah I think I might write that too. Good idea. But I'm sure the person will know it's me when they read the address under it. I'm so excited! I've already wrapped mine, just waiting to get to the post office. Thanks again lambkin for organising. So do you know who got you then? You MUST! CHEAT!!!

Sounds like a plan... and I know things never go to plan but it's a start!

well done on the decision making...your perogative to change your minds though! we are thinking of trying at the end of next year, which means Pip will be 2 1/4 if we fall straight away and I won't have another winter baby!!

BTW- have a really nice ocean trout and leek dish I will PM you on FB as I have already sent it to a couple of people on there.

happybirthday to Jacob, BB hope you had a good party.

had Pip's swimming lessons today she did really well going underwater this time... have a few photos as well as DH was here this time.

sk6 cute photos and Miss C is getting bigger!!

I still have no idea what to get my SS, I figure everyone is going to find out who given addresses and postmarks. going shopping tomorrow so will hopefully get something there.

Just a quick one ladies and

happybirthday Jacob.

ems yes the swimming everyday would be great, BB let us know how Casey goes.

Mums here, we're baking about 280 cookies today for the bonboniere, easier to get sugared almonds or something I reckon, almost done now, but it's hot, bloody bloody hot  They're yummy though, little peanut butter and white choc chip cookies. Got them to go in clear boxes with white tissue paper on the bottom, nice labels and a white ribbon tied around.

Yay for our ducted air con going in on Friday. Summer is napping without being wrapped at all now am SO SO proud of her.
Using her tomy light and tunes she goes down for naps in under 10 mins every time and she is laying in there in just her nappy. Gosh am so proud of her :cloud9:

Sorry no more personals, will have more time after the christening is over!

Oh with SS, MOS did you open your present already :shame: sposed to wait till xmas day  (unless I misread one of your previous posts )

Ugh MOS just picturing lard going into anything I cook makes me gag a little! What will it take for her to realise? A heart attack?

That sounds like a great plan for moving out. :yelclap:How big is your unit? Would 4 of you be comfortable there for a few years?

It would be small but manageable. And near the river, shops and parks so I would go for many walks. We used to do that heaps, walk everywhere, etc. It was good and we did appreciate it but not as much as we would now, after not having it for so long... IYKWIM?

Well DH got home and saw what was being cooked for dinner and decided to get outta here. So we went and got a salad at Westfield. Then he left me as he said he needed to have a look at something for me. So we plit for about 15 mins. I've told him I just want a Westfield voucher as I need some new clothes, summer PJ's and things I'd have lots of fun picking. It's my birthday too so he can still surprise me with something... maybe.

For DH I was going to get him a weights bench as I know he was looking for one a few weeks ago. He looked at some second hand then gave up. I wasn't sure whether he would like it or not so I told him I was getting him something he's mentioned before then he started guessing. He said he's mentioned: a DVD recorder, a punching bag and a few other things. There was no mention of the weights bench... so instead I got him a Westfield voucher for $199 as that's what the bench cost. Then I can at least say this is what I was going to get him but I'd rather he spend it on what he really wants. I'm glad too as yesterday he asked me to get one of those fit balls while I was out. So I got him one and asked if that was to use when he's doing weights. It is. So lucky I hadn't bought a bench! I know he needs new clothes too as he's lost 11kilos! :smiliedance:

Oh and I now fit into my skinny jeans COMFORTABLY!!! And also my skimpy shorts from last summer! I feel amazing. So I no longer need so many new clothes but I still need a few more tops. DH said my (.)(.)'s are looking a little smaller too and I feel they fit more into my bras now so he may just be right. :yelclap:

Well there are 6 adults and 6 kids all making noise in the living room... just off our bedroom. And I've just gotten Sam to sleep. So I'm going to go and organise lunch for tomorrow and juice, etc before someone wakes Sam up.

Good afternoon everyone, hope you are all having a great day so far!!

happybirthday Jacob, its also my DP's birthday today too!! Quinn bought him a t-shirt off the internet she is very smart!

K8y- Those cookies sound great, a lot of work tho so good on you for not taking the easy way out. Personally i hate those sugared almonds you usually get so if i was at your christening i would be so excited to get something different!

Sk6- your girls are gorgeous! Your older one is quite tall and mature looking i had to check your sig to see if you had a teenager!

BB- Hope it is just the tooth, but if he still has a fever tomorrow i would go to a doctor because apparently its just an old wives tale about teething giving babies a fever? Good luck at WW!

Oconcky i also can't figure out what to get my SS, everywhere is having sales around here tho so i hope to pick up a bargain tomorrow also will be getting Q's santa photos can't wait:yelclap:

CandL'smummy a holiday sounds great! and the 4 years eh is at uni will fly by, i can't believe DP only has one year left! his is a full on 3 year course which is meant to be 4 but they do summer semesters and a year of placements. You should tell your Dh to look at a few summer classes to make it go faster, that way he won't be annoying you for 3 months of the year!! and my other piece of advice is get out of the house when exams are on!! its so stressful!

MOS- Your plan sounds great, i hope it all works out. I can't imagine planning for another yet and DP said the other day he is worried if we do have another he thinks he willl love Q more because she was first so i will have to work on that too now!

Mothers group today which was fun and cleaning the house not so fun! pimped up my dairy free ice cream with some dairy free chocolate flakes and rasberry sauce to have for dessert tonight, hope it works out! Now i am going to relax and watch gossip girl while Q has a sleep, added an extra nap today so DP can see her for a bit before she goes to sleep for the night.

babywez families are hard work :(
My mum and sister just started talking again today. Hope it all goes ok as I always get stuck in the middle....

sk6 great photos! love the outfits. Yes it's too hot for baking. Thank god the air con is in on Fri. Have had oven on and cookies in and out from 9am till 5pm. Now I have to go cook dinner

MOS great plans, how exciting!
I thought I must have read your post wrong about opening the present. Reading to quickly so that I can catch up :o
Yuk to all that lard. Must make you feel yukky eating her cooking. We too love salmon here and eat fresh fish minimum once a week. Snapper and barramundi also favourites, steamed in fresh lemon slices.
How great you fit your skinny jeans. That must make you feel great :yelclap:

mybabyQ I too am not a fan of the sugared almonds and always think the home made effort variety says a lot and tastes great!
Though obviously for weddings etc it's a bit different as you have too much else going on.
Your dessert sounds lovely. Enjoy!

BB best of luck at WW. Your going great! I have hit a plateau because I haven't been doing it. At least I haven't put on because haven't been eating the best and have had no time to get on the treadmill.
Next week on will be a different story, lots of swimming with Summer, treadmill time and time to track/buy healthy food again!
Hope Casey's fever is just teeth and poor little Jacob getting a cold on his b'day - not fair :hugs:

I will be posting my SS present next week. HANG IN THERE FOR IT X!!! Are we finding out who they're from afterwards?
Hope my present isn't too poxy because then X will know it was me! ha ha (ran out of emoticon usage.....*eye roll*)

Summer hasn't done a poo for a good week I think. Worried. Hope she doesn't do it on Saturday all over her lovely gown.

Mum of Midgeys

Candiee - Hope Kobi has a better night tonight :hugs:

BB - Poor little Casey (and you! are having a rough trot! Hope it is just his toothy pegs.

MOS - What I wouldn't give for a pair of skinny jeans *sighs in awe* Unfortunately I'd also have to order a pair of skinny thighs to go with them  Good for you though - that's awesome. Oh, and I meant to mention about the berries the other night - they say strawberries can be left until 12months as they can be a high allergy food. Although I've given them to Khirra without a worry. But there's no history of food allergy in either of our families.

K8y - Maybe just give Summer a drink of water with brown sugar? You mix up 60mls water to a teaspoon of brown sugar... although I only used half a teaspoon when I used it on Khirra. Worked a treat. And she only drank about 30ml.

We had our CHN visit today. Khirra now weighs 6.4kgs and is 65cm long. So she's still in the 10th percentile for her weight and the 50th percentile for her height. But the nurse suggested I start giving her 3 solid meals a day, because she is so, so active. She just doesn't sit still and demonstrated that while we were there, lol. But she said that was typical of smaller bubs? She wants me to add pasta and rice to her meals so she can get more carbs i.e. energy out of the meals. Said even a bit of cheese if there's no history of allergy, which there isn't. Also maybe give her an arrowroot biscuit in the afternoon with some water. Umm, what else? Said I need to stop her 'snacking', which I know she does.... she has about 100-120ml 6 times a day, so she wants me to cut it down to about 200ml, 4 times a day. We'll see how we go... She's not concerned about her weight, because that's where she's always been, just pointed out the more active she gets, the more energy she's going to need, or I'm going to have a cranky baby on my hands.

So, I hadn't planned on feeding her so much, so soon, but I guess that's what we need to do. Going to have to get a bit more of a routine happening, golly gosh!... there should be a 'groan of effort' emoticon :p

ems wow was going to say about Khirra being in the 10th percentile, as Summer is 64cm and 6.1kg, but then I realised, she is a whole month younger then Khirra
All that food sounds like hard work!

I am not sure how I would go with the water. I haven't been able to start trialling her on a bottle yet as she is waking for feeds during the night so there is no spare milk to express so I have been hoping when I see the dietician on Wednesday next she'll help me as to sorting out whether Summer has a cows milk protein intolerance once and for all and then I may have to start giving her a bottle of formula once a day. Either that or express during the night and hope she doesn't wake up or if she does, hope she takes the bottle as it would be that or nothing. It's all too hard.
Just gotta get her sorted before CC starts :hair:
I can be sure how long ago the last poo was really. I remember thinking I wanted to see what her poo's were like after farex but I don't recall seeing one so that would be a week and a half
She is still weeing ok. Wonder if I should try getting her into the chiro on Thurs or Fri as the first time she went she was backed up and did a HUGE poo 1/2 hour aftering getting home.

LOL MOS about Sam farting under the gown. Am sure Summer will be the same  She farts alot.
She did 2 loud farts at the printers the other day and the lady behind the counter laughed - she was a mum though so had been through all that! and peeeyou they stank :D

1MUM1 welcome to our thread. We chatter alot. Hard to keep up.
Most of us are only regulars in maybe 2-3 threads not all of them (is that right ladies??). Easier to keep up that way and get to know your fellow hubbers who have bubs the same age and are going through the same things.
Maybe tell us a bit about yourself and just feel free to jump in on any conversation.

For those BF, who is planning on weaning around 6 months? (if their bubs will let them )

TBH I think getting to 6 months on exclusive BF is a huge achievement, but I'll be ready to pass the batton onto the formula. Not that I haven't enjoyed it, being able to feed her has been lovely and so convenient, but I want my boobs back.
I'm tired of always having my boobs out and for once I just want to wear a top where I don't have to think whether I can successfully BF in it or if there is somewhere I feel comfortable getting my boob out or just letting DP feed her too.

Is that selfish of me  it sounds that way when I read it back :(

The CHN sounded really unimpressed when I mentioned the word formula to her the other day so I just shut up about it. I hate how they are so judgemental to those who are getting ready to wean.

mosac
03-12-2008, 20:04
Not weaning here k8y. I did think about it the other day for the first time. With losing weight, I feel that my ginormous knockers are keeping me from looking my normal small self. I now look smalll-ISH but with these huge kahunas sticking out the front! Wow, didn't that sound selfish?! I think my selfish comment was worse k8y! ;)

Anyway, if I was going back to work even part time, I think I would as it's just way too hard to express. I can't be stuffed anymore. Next time I have a baby I will be sure to express a whole week's worth right at the beginning when I have heaps of milk. It seems right now all I produce is what Sam needs unless it's 4am... in which case I can't be stuffed! :o

I also figure if I don't work, then what's the big hassle with BF a little longer? I'd love to go the whole year. I really like the alone time we have together. And I'm never in such a hurry it's a real big pain to stop and feed him.

On the flipside, I can totally understand those who are weaning and nobody should judge anybody for their decisions, especially some CHN who doesn't know you personally and is obviously biased.

What contraception are you using, Im on the pill and constantly forgetting to take, so I need something else, as "DH" (not so dear this time) wont go and get the snip, which p!sses me right off!

I've told DP I want him to get the snip too, but he's not to keen. What is it with them?

I had the implanon & hated it. Made me fat & really bad mood swings. Only time in my life I've used contraception & only had it in for a few months cause I couldn't stand it. Very interesting watching it being inserted under your skin, though not as much fun having it dug back out

MOS - What I wouldn't give for a pair of skinny jeans *sighs in awe* Unfortunately I'd also have to order a pair of skinny thighs to go with them

 When you figure out where to order them from, can you send a pair my way please!

MOS yes after reading your post I wanted to say that I would probably leave weaning until later if she wasn't going into childcare 2 days a week in January. If she doesn't go onto formula straight away I will have to try and build up enough supply to get her started on EBM at CC so then I will have to express while she is there.
I feel a bit rushed putting her into CC so soon, but they can't guarantee a place in June when my 12 months is up, so it would be a another half a year till January 2010 to get her in.

Will make life difficult, but whatever happens, she always comes first

ems and kotakai, skinny thighs and I have never been introduced

 Kotakai and K8y - don't worry, should I ever come across a pair, I will be ordering in bulk ;)

MOS - I wouldn't have thought you were judging hun - I know how supportive everyone in here is :):hugs: awww... doesn't it make you feel all warm and fuzzy? lol

And on the BF subject, I have to say I was only just saying to Mum yesterday, as I was washing bottles for the millionth time, trying to decide how many I should lug around for our outing, that I really hope I can BF the next bub, or I'm going to need a golfbuggy to carry around all the cr*p I'll need to pack for two of them :p But I can understand it would be nice to have yourself back to you after so long  6months is an awesome effort. Must be so hard having to find a way around the bottle situation too, when you can't be around.

I don't believe its a wives tale MybabyQ though all the docs will tell you that teething & temps are not related:rolleyes: but with Jacob he got runny poo's & temps then cut his teeth....but I think anything higher than 39 is something more to be concerned about.....I will see how he goes through the day:D....Thanks!

Is that selfish of me it sounds that way when I read it back

The CHN sounded really unimpressed when I mentioned the word formula to her the other day so I just shut up about it. I hate how they are so judgemental to those who are getting ready to wean.

I can understand that K8y:hugs:...who cares what the CHN said! Its not her (.)(.) that are being sucked on 24/7....& summer is waking through the night still & its draining! Your not being selfish at ALL....My SIL hasn't had her boobs to herself for years as each time she fell pregnant she was still BF the other one...they are expecting no 4 in March....
Getting to 6 months is wonderful! Just do what is right for you hun:D

just a quick hi to everyone.

we had a rough night last night with kobi again last night, his poor teeth must be coming soon, well i hope, he needs some relief, and so do i.

i posted off the present for my SS today so "they" should get it within a week...

getting so excited about Christmas, with 2 kids it's double the fun.

well must run, hope you have all had a great day.

:wave:Hope you are getting some much deserved sleep!:hugs:

Candiee - Hope Kobi has a better night tonight

Going to have to get a bit more of a routine happening, golly gosh!... there should be a 'groan of effort' emoticon

I know its hard isn't...casey is a big boy :p so hes having 3 meals a day...I was going to try that 4 bottles of day of 200ml but he just won't always take it,sometimes only 150ml then every 3.5 hours....casey is over 8.5kilos:D....like I said big boy! hahaha, she will only take what she needs....200ml might be too much for her little belly to take all @ once,I would just increase it the bottles bit by bit & see how she goes same goes for the food....Goodluck hun!:flowerz:

Go Summer!! That's great K8y!! Quinn also did great, 8 pm until 6!! i can deal with that schedule if she keeps doing it for sure!

BB- yeah i am not sure its a wives tale either but thats what all the books and doctors say! sorry you had such an awful nights sleep! if its a tooth tho at least the end will be in sight

As for continuing b/f i plan to go as long as i can, i figure that i worked so damn hard to get a good breastfeeding relationship going and dealt with so much pain where i even had to express and feed her for a week so my nipples could heal from the chunks that were missing:( that i want to just take advantage of how easy and fun it is now. Also i really don't wan to have to deal with formula and bottles when overseas and i am lazy and love just getting them out:laughing:
But i can totally understand the other side and i too can't wait to get my body back and where nice clothes or even a dress without having to worry about flashing everyone if she decides she is hungry!

Stg your 21 tomorrow! are you having a big party? i hope charli gets you something good!

Ems put me in for some skinny thighs too please!! i swear my hips are still wider than pre baby because my thighs/hips just do not fit into any of my clothes :hair:

Hi everyone!

Well done to Summer and Quinn on the big sleeps!:yelclap: I have to rejoin the non-sleeping brigade I think. Liam was up at 11pm (from 7pm), 3am, 5am, and ready to go at 6.30am. He also didnt sleep much during the day yesterday, hence the super early night - it was only meant to be a nap, not 4 hours......

.....which means he didnt have his solids for dinner, which might have been why he woke up during the night a few times. Im also starting to think about weaning - Im not sure if my supply is enough anymore, I cannot express anything, and although Liams certainly not fading away () when its just boobie feeding, hes back to feeding every 3 or so hours, as opposed to 5 hour breaks between solids.

Re: skinny jeans - would love to wear some, but a) I dont have the legs either and b) Im miles too old for them! (JMO)and c) luckily Im very comfy in my slouchy "boyfriend" jeans:thumbsup:

Hi 1MUM1:wave: It is hard to keep up on here! I read all the posts most days, but sometimes it can take me a few days to reply.

Re: Secret Santa - have gone and posted pressie today so "somebody" should be getting something early next week! Hope he/she likes it;)

To those dreaming about "skinny jeans", I'm not sure if I've explained myself right. Is there such a thing as skinny jeans? I was referring to my old jeans I used to wear pre PG (ie, when I was skinny). Anyway they are tighter than they used to be but are more comfortable than they were when I was PG and still wore them. I put more weight on my butt and thighs AFTER I had Sam. Someone told me it's BF but I'm blaming the MIL's cooking yet again! ;)

Well I must brag now. I went on my Thurs morning walk with my new friend who is very nice and easy to talk to, etc... when my phone rang (nobody EVER calls me!). Anyway, it was someone from the Babies Galore website - to me, the HOLY GRAIL of competitions. I won second prize in last month's competition. I won the following:

A Maclaren Techno Stroller with toddler board at the back,
A Safe n Sound Maxi Rider 6mth+ car seat,
A Baby Bjorn Synergy,
And a Steelcraft Siesta 2 in 1 port-a-cot.

We're picking it up this weekend. She said to bring a trailer or a big 4WD or something... All up it's $1,500 worth of things and when I told DH, he said we should have another baby then since now we have 2 of everything! :D

I feel ultra greedy winning all of this as we've got most of it but really, I love my Strider but have already thought that when I have a second it will be hard with 2 kids and no toddler seat... this pram will come with a board for Sam to ride on. And we're getting a second car so might be good to have another car seat... and this new one is a booster seat too so will be Sam's when (and if!) the new bubba comes along. The Baby Bjorn is also a better and more supportive model than my current one so bonus! And we're going to exchange the port-a-cot we bought at Toys R Us a few days ago and get Sam something else from his god mother instead... that's if she can remember where she put the receipt...

So yay!!!!! I'M A WINNER AGAIN!!!

I've asked her to Email me my entry as I know it was a creative little poem but I can't find a copy. She said I used their slogan in there at the end which is what got their attention. :yelclap:

Gosh i'm tired. Not sure why, Lara is sleeping better. We've been getting 8.30ish till 4ish. Last night i was so tiredi went to bed with her at 8.30 and was out to it as soon as my head hit the pillow. Maybe i should try and eat better. What does everyone have for lunch? I think i skip lunch most days, just have a dry biscuit or similar.

Congrats on the win MOS! Thats fantastic. Skinny jeans are the tight jeans all over, how did you lose your muffin top? That is the only part i can stand about my body.

I'm not sure what i want to do about the bf. I think i'll hold on till after our holiday. My concerns about the bf is that Lara is very clingy and sometimes will refuse the bottle. I don't want to get to a point where i have to continue to feed coz she wont take the bottle. I think bf is heaps easier than formula, it was such a pain having to find places to heat bottles and carting everything with you and then washing. OMG i hated washing bottles! Very glad i am able to feed this time. maybe i might continue to feed.

Mybabyq- aparently it takes 9 months for your hips to come back to pre pregnancy size so you'd be right thinking they are bigger.

Im buying my SS pressie tomorrow. I think i have decided on what i am getting unless i fall in love with something else whilst i'm shopping.

Thanks C&L'smummy. My jeans are straight or boot cut or something but to me, they are my "skinny jeans". I still have a little bit of a muffin top, so don't you all start worrying :shame:. I just wear tops that don't accentuate my muffin top. DH bought me a nice top the other day from Esprit. It's a gorgeous green colour with short sleeves, a hood and a tie around the middle. So it doesn't make me look big but also covers the bits I need to cover. It makes me feel goooooood!

I am thinking EXACTLY your line of thought. I always planned I'd wean at 6 months. But I just don't know where to start. She is 6 months next week. Either that or Im lazy.. or both.. lol

She takes a bottle but isnt overly impressed. When She takes it she dribbles alot down her cheeks and neck:confused:
She doesnt really like formula..
I dont know.. I jsut dont know where to start you know?
BUt I really want my boobs back. I want them smaller and to be able to wear a decent bra that fits, and a nice top...

Yes there is such thing as skinny jeans lol but I know what you mean. I have my 'skinny' jeans but they're normal jeans, just the ones I can fit into when I'm at a good weight!

stg not sure if I'll be on tomorrow as will be flat stick (is that a saying?) so happybirthday to you!!!!!
It's hard stg to get advice on weaning.
Try googling it. I figured I would try Summer on a bottle a day and gradually increase it, but I will wait until after she is 6 months. Plus with her going into CC I don't want to stress her too much so I will likely need to EBM for her for a little while anyway. I reckon she'll be BF until prob 8 months lol...

candlsmummy perhaps catching up on lost sleep for you. Sometimes it can make you feel more tired.
Do try and eat some lunch though. Even if it means making a sandwich the night before or microwaving a lean cuisine :hugs:

Kyles I've been madly houseworking too, so over it today!
Big storm coming in and DP wanted to work in the yard this afternoon but has been stuffed around with the air con parts for the ducted being installed tomorrow :hair: so he won't be home by 4pm.
I've got to get into the shops to do fruit and veg and some bits, so lucky it's Thursday today.
Sounds like a tough night for you but Liam sounds like he is doing great on the solids. I have given Summer a break after about 4 days of trying as she wasn't overly interested. She's not 6 months anyway so am not concerned but perhaps once she's booby feeding less and on more solids I may feel differently about BF and want to continue longer.
We'll see!

Congrats on your second place in the comp MOS! I entered a Westfield comp and wrote a little ditty, the last time was "Shopping at Westfield makes Christmas the best!" so I hope that gets their attention. I've never won anything in my life, it would be awesome to win this!

Y'know, after the first few weeks of breast feeding, I wanted to quit. Then thought "Ok, I'll hang in there and do it for 6 months, then I'm done!" Now that he's 5 months, I could imagine doing it until he's 1. But not bc I think breast milk is so important, rather I'm lazy and he still gets up in the middle of the night and its easier to put him on the boob in our bed than to physically get up and make a bottle and give it to him. Isnt' that awful? Also, can't beat the cost of breast milk!

I need to do some reading (or visit the CHN I guess) to figure out when you swap milk feeds for solid feeds, etc. Nicklas hates the farex but LOVES his veggies, which is good. He'll eat half the little jar in one sitting and want more. But I have to give it to him before the boob or he has no interest.

Anyway, so glad its almost the weekend. Will have some pics to share with you guys next week, soooooooo cute (I know, biased:ecomcity::ecomcity:). Supposed to go to tennis in an hour but weather looks like shaite.

Mailed off all my Chrissy cards to the states and England this morning. :yelclap: Only thing left to do is get a couple more things for the MIL and send a box to the States. Then bring on Christmas! Thought about going away for New Year but most places I checked (caravan parks, etc) have min. 7 days stay! DH doesn't have that much time off, but is having two 4-day weekends, which will be great! Probably best to just stay home anyway. Enough rambling for me!

Just a few things from us quickly before Elliot has a tanty! He doesn't seem to be feeling well today. I thought he was getting a cold, but I think it may be his body dealing with the immunisations. About 10 days it takes before he tends to start getting a bit runny around the nose and the eyes, and it has been 10 days since his jabs.
It was his half birthday yesterday, so Happy Half Birthday to Elliot! 6 months already, I cannot believe it. :hugs:

1MUM1 - I'm sorry we didn't include you in the Secret Santa, but as MOS said, we thought perhaps you were AWOL and we didn't want someone to miss out. Welcome though! I hope you can keep up with everyone's chatter.

Congrats to those of you who are doing well on their weight loss journeys. Fat Club has been abandoned by us until further notice (or at least until the festive season is over!) But ladies, PLEASE don't EVER be ashamed of your bodies, no matter what size or shape. We are all unique which is what makes us so interesting! Never let your happiness depend on a number that's written on a set of scales. Just think what our bodies are capable of!! We have had BABIES! Like.. grown actual human beings inside of us! That makes me feel pretty damn proud of my lumpy, dumpy, bumpy body, I tell you what!! :goodvibes:

Got some photos today from a photographer friend who did a shoot with Elliot and my sisters' children. I'll post some on facebook if I get a chance!! Cranky Franky is calling again....
Come on DP, where the heck are yooou??!! hehe

Hi Ladies!

Yay for SS...cant wait to go shopping!

Just a quick one from me - the storm is rolling in so had better turn the computer off. DH has been called into work again (already called in last night for the other storm :().

k8y - no plans on weaning here - i am just to LAZY! The thought of formula, bottles etc is too much for me. Plus the comfort factor of BF for him. I think I will stick to it until he is one - although a lot of babies also self wean before then - so we will see how i go. mind you...teeth could be a whole other equation!

BRISBANE/QLD girls - did you know that QLD heath do a class on how to introduce solids. Its called "time to eat" and it is free through the CH clinics. If you call the 1300 number you can book in. (PM me if you dont have the number). I am doing it tomorrow. Also there is a class for when you baby is 7-9 months and it is refered to as the "7 month class" - you can book into that at the same time. Just thought I would pop in and let you all know!

Austin had his jabs on Monday and still not himself. He is still running a bit of a temperature. He still smiles every second - but now he whinges whilst smiling - multi-talented boy!:D he has started to lift himself up on his arms, and occasionally lifts his bottom up when he is having tummy time - he is trying so hard to crawl. He can commando crawl a little now.

MOS - congrats on winning second place in the competition! What a great prize pack! Must be a sign that a second one now is a good decision!

Off to kids safe house tomorrow (a house in Brisbane that is set up to show you how to make your house safe for babies) which should be interesting. Also have the solids class so will be yet another busy day...oh for a day at home to rest!

:wave:Take care girls!

Havent had time to catch up.

Q for all you facebook people.

A couple of days ago I was looking on facebook and friendreunited, and looked up a few names.

Now 2 of them have found me on facebook, and one I dont want any contact with, she was a nutter..so my q is, can people see if you have been looking them up on either of these sites? Or maybe its just coincedence...

Is there a polite way to decline a friend on facebook?

Yeah I dont know. My doc when she wasnt putting on weight just said replace one feed and gradually increase it. Then I said she doesnt like formula, then she said thats because she has an option. So how am I supposed to do it gradually while not giving her the option on breast?

She does take formula.. ive only recently tried it once.. but she only had like 20ml then is off it.
Same with EBM she has liek 40ml then loses interest... so not sure what the answer is to that.

Maybe I should See a CHN. But I mean Ive never seen one.. and Im not exactly sure what to say or how to explain it to her.. I mean I dont know what the problem is:confused:

Y'know, after the first few weeks of breast feeding, I wanted to quit. Then thought "Ok, I'll hang in there and do it for 6 months, then I'm done!" Now that he's 5 months, I could imagine doing it until he's 1. But not bc I think breast milk is so important, rather I'm lazy and he still gets up in the middle of the night and its easier to put him on the boob in our bed than to physically get up and make a bottle and give it to him. Isnt' that awful? Also, can't beat the cost of breast milk!

Yeah she sleeps through the night usually. but it's definately a reason why I kept going.lazy lol.. (imagine having to get up and make a bottle!!!!)But its just so easy to pop her on the boob at 5am/6am. and I feed her to sleep at night. I think its just hard to change that routine? I dont know.
and its convenient in some ways like that, but other ways its a pain in the ***. HUGELY - like going out, at home its ok. hrmm

BRISBANE/QLD girls - did you know that QLD heath do a class on how to introduce solids.

Id like to do that - but ive already started her.. but Id still like to know more on how to encorporate it with milk feeds and such and such.. is it more basic introduction or moreso. Let me know how it is. Id like to go to it

I'm not sure about friendsunited, but they can't see that you've been looking at them on facebook. If she requests your friendship, you can decline and it won't send her a message to say you have declined. She just won't get a message to say you have accepted - does that make sense??

To those who were asking about weaning, I don't have plans to wean Elliot off of the breast any time soon but I definitely understand the frustration you are all having!

And for your viewing pleasure!

Lambkin, you should check out identitydirect.com. I don't know if its been mentioned here before or not, but a playgroup mum mentioned it to me last week and I just spent an hour on there ordering gifts for my MIL! Might have created a monster.

LOVE the pics, too! I love it when bubs grab their feet like that. I hope Nicklas does that soon. He grabs his knee and his clothes, but not his feet yet.

Hi everyone

First of all thank you to everyone for your concern about DP and his very sore hands! He was in hospital for 10 days, has been home for a week and all is going as well as possible. The nurses are really happy with his progress, he has been doing all the right things (ie no smoking, eating lots of protein, limited alcohol) and it has made his recovery fairly straightforward and so far, successful. I am waiting for him to slip back into his old habits once everything is back to normal though lol. He has regained quite a bit of strength so can pick up DD2 if necessary, although try to avoid it as he is still very sore in patches and she wriggles a lot.

Mums op went well too, so she is returning back to her home in country SA on Sunday. I love mum but I will be glad to see her go home, she is really bored staying at her parents place and wants to see me and the girls all the time, which is lovely but I am just completely exhausted from all the travelling!

I am having one of those days where I hate everything and everyone lol. wow that sounds dramatic but not really that bad, and not really for the whole day lol. I know it is just because I am so very tired.

Wow cant believe some of your bundles are crawling :dizzy:. DD 2 is 6 months now and I'm guessing she;s about 8 kgs. Shes been rolling heaps and can swivel on her belly to change direction but there is NO WAY her little arms, as chubby as they are, can hold her fat belly off the ground! Anyway have been considering binding her legs together so she cant crawl at all as I am a bit nervous about having 2 kids on the move! (FYI please dont call FACS thatwas a joke lol. Just want to make sure - there are some people of bubhub - but not this section -that def do not have a sense of humour).

Re BF, I am too lazy to FF that's for sure. If she'll take it i'm going until 1 then putting her straight onto cows milk. Had no worried with DD1 so :fingerscrossed:. BTW anyone finding that BF is just NOT helping them lose weight? With DD1 the weight fell of easily and I went back to pre preg weight (plus about 2kgs :o) faiely quickly. This time tho I really have a lot of fat sitting on my hips, quite unusual for me. It;s just not going anywhere. As for the bazoombas, well what hope do I have really :p

So my plan to try and post once a day at least kind of fell in a heap, but now things are slowly getting back to normal I will put a bit more effort in.

Welcome back dondons. Great to hear your DPs recovering well.

A friend recently told me BF makes you put weight on around the hips and thighs... sounds right to me!

Cute pics Lambkin. Boy, those "milk jugs" put even MINE to shame!!! :D My boy has chucked up on them too! Now I see why - where else was he going to chuck?!?! It is a pretty pic of you though. You look very relaxed and healthy.

Ive been meaning to ask you girls this,

But a week ago, my left nipple got a little blister on it. Kinda like one you would get on your heel with bad shoes, but alot smaller of course.

I thought it may have been caused from the nipple sheild incorrectly placed when I fed her lying down at 5am the day before.

But now I have a blister on my right nipple now and Ive definately been placing the sheild properly...

anyone know why this would happen? its reminiscent (to a lesser extent though) to the early weeks of BF.

Would it be because she is sucking harder

or would it be because she is using her teeth

or the way she is drawing the milk now?

I havent missed the attachment pain!

anyways good night all.

I got my SS present but I havent been anywhere to wrap it or post it :dizzy::dizzy:

Good evening everyone!

Just a quickie from me.

MOS - well done with the competition prize! I wish I could be bothering entering those sorts of things.

Lambkin - such cute photos! Love the one of him on tummy in the pink nappy second photo of second line - I love that pose that babies put themselves in!

A story to share quickly: Was in the supermarket with Liam this afternoon when a mum with a young girl of around 3 walked past. The girl had a good look at Liam in the pusher and whispered LOUDLY to her mum "That baby is a very big baby Mum!" The mum got all embarrassed when she realised Id heard and tried to apologise to me, but I just said "He is a big baby isnt he? All the more for me to cuddle!" :cloud9:very nicely. Aaahhh kids - they only speak the truth:D

Before I go, can someone tell me where the "off" button is on a baby? Now that Liam can roll he just wont stop! Rolling in the cot, in the bath, on the change table, all over the floor all day long. And why am I the one who gets tired? He just doesnt stop! And its only going to get worse:laughing::sleeping:....no, "worse" is the wrong word...he's only going to get more active!

Have a good night all and take care:flowerz:

MOS I'm sorry to hear about your bestie's mum :( I can't count the number of people I know affected by breast (or any really) cancer. It is such a horrible disease. I agree that a thinking of you card might be a nice tough, and just let her know you'll be there for her whenever she is ready to talk about it.

In good news, Nicklas just rolled tummy to back! :yelclap:He's been doing back to tummy for weeks but literally gets so frustrated that he can't get back. Maybe now I can stop having to roll him back over ever 30 seconds!

We went frame shopping today. Boy they're not cheap when you need 10x13, 16x16 and 20x20. That said, they weren't as expensive as I thought they'd be, but when we add a matt and the rest of it. But as one of the women said, "Why pay so much for photos to frame them in a cheap frame?" She said she has people who do the glamour shots and pay $3000 for pictures come in and want the cheapest frame they have! Doesn't make much sense. We only spent $375 on pictures, but want to frame them right so they look good on the wall. We're hoping they'll be "unveiled" at Christmas dinner. IF we can get them framed in time. :fingerscrossed:
