Funny things our babies do

Liam now is on a permanent nipple radar - as soon as anything comes near me - be it animal, mineral or vegetable - his mouth opens as he tries to latch on to it.

Tonight, it was the cat. :D Luckily, he didn't take in to much cat hair. The cat was not impressed!

Anyone else have amusing latch on stories to tell?

:wave: When Kiana was about the same age as Liam, she would suck very loudly on my left upper arm.
It only ever happened in public too! :o
She'd always head-butt me in the arm first!
And isn't it amazing how they seem to be able to 'smell' you when you walk into the room!

Ozzy who is almost 15 months and is still breastfed constantly tries to latch onto my belly button. He has done this since day 1 and never got any milk out of it so you would think he'd have learnt!:laughing: :yes:

MJ does that, & my back if its bare :p If she's thirsty she pulls out my top, looks down my shirt & goes "ooooooo" :laughing:

I wish DS still did that, it was so cute. :( He used to try and headbutt everyone, especially when he was around 4-6 weeks old.

Sometimes he'll suck on my arm, but he's pretty peckish if that happens.

The little bugger seems to have figured it out now though. He doesn't even try to latch on through my top when he feels like a feed. He now just looks at my chest and tries to grab a handful. He seems to know which boob we're up to though, which is good for me, sometimes I have to try and remember.

DS is nearly 9months. if i feed him in a light room, he will pull off his boob and push down on it and watch the milk squirt out (usually all over his face) when it stops he grabs the nipple and looks at it very seriously. If a drop of milk runs down his boob, he will lift it up to watch it and try and grab it with his mouth!!!

My older daughter was holding indy and she was sucking on emilys arm... she left her doing it as it was keeping her quiet and didnt think it would harm her, anyways she gave her back, Emily had this massive hickey looking thing on her arm :eek:
she thought it was something she could just wipe off, untill i explained to her she gonna be stuff with it for a while!
I have told her not to let her suck on her arm in future :rolleyes:

When DD was a newborn, she would latch onto your nose! It was hilarious! :laughing:

Oliver tries to latch on to any nipple...male or female! Steven wont pick him up without putting clothing on now! And he tried to latch on to my friend Sarah when she picked him up for a cuddle! :)

He's so funny how he shakes his head from side to side with his mouth open! Can make it very hard to attatch him when he's hungry! LOL

I'd forgotten about that! DD used to do that too - we called her the "bubba bird" for ages cause she looked like, well, a baby bird with its mouth open! All that was lacking was the "tweet tweet" noises! :laughing:

I love it how Liam sort of borrows his head in my chest looking for a nipple...its like a mole digging a hole in the ground :D
