i have been wanting to make bub (6 months) custard for a long time now but dont know how to go about it. i have foster clarks custard that contains cornflour sugar salt colors 102 and 110 and also flavours so doesnt sound to good for bub. i also heard that mixing his milk with cornflour to thicken it up is good.

Any ideas??? i want to try different things other then pureed fruit and jelly

just found a recipe 100ml of milk with 2 tsp of custard powder how would those colours n flavours go with a 6 month old????????

Make your own, from scratch. That way you know EXACTLY what is in it. Be very wary of anything with colour and preservatives in it.

I honestly would just give him yogurt (jalna) much healthier and you can add fruit to it too.

I have found a recipe for custard for you. It's from Fresh Food for Babies and Toddlers.

2/3 cup of milk
pinch of ground cinnamon
1 egg yolk
2 teaspoon of white sugar
1 teaspoon of cornflour

Bring milk and cinnamon to a boil in saucepan, remove from heat

Whisk yolk, sugar and cornflour until combined

Add to milk, stir over low heat until mixture ust boils and thickens

Cool to room temp

Make your own using cornflour. Don't use custard powder, as it contains colours that are not recommended for bubs and children.

The above recipe looks good, I might pinch it :D

You're not really supposed to give them milk till 12 months
so could you possibly use formula or breastmilk instead??
