I have surplus eggs from my chooks, and I want to give them away to pensioners and young mums on benefits.
How can I make this happen? Is there a group that provides food for people?

Ipswich Hospice Care (cnr Robertson Road & ?) is a community run, not for profit aged care facility. They rely on public donations/support to keep running. They have a small number of staff and a great deal of volunteers to keep the place running - I'm sure they would be grateful for any fresh healthy eggs for their patients..... (even if you can't supply say, 'all the eggs for breakfast', they could still use them for cakes and biscuits they bake for morning & afternoon tea)
However, I've just noticed your in Goodna - isn't there a place there called the 'Gleaners' that supply food for disadvantaged people?
But my vote still goes to IHC :)

What a great idea blackdog. My parents have chickens so I get eggs from them. It's great not to have to add that to my shopping bill each week. I'm sure you could find some deserving people to take them off your hands. Maybe the local Church can point you in the right direction. Or the community centre.

I can't really drive too far atm with a broken arm, so I might go and have a chat to the Gleaners. The hospice seems well supported, anyway, going by their website.
Thanks all for your help!
Maybe you could sell them to people and then give the money to who ever you like.
I for one would love to be able to buy REAL eggs so if you do decied to sell any let me no.

you could also stick a sign out the front of your place and see if anyone wants any.
