Hi all.
Here's the situation.
We decided this year that we will be home edding our children:yelclap:.
We have begun a little but really want to get into it next year as DD has turned 5 and is hungry to learn.
We are currently doing maths power and reading eggs which are computer and worksheet based programmes which she seems to enjoy.
We were going to go with ACE for next year but are still not 100% decided on it.
I'm thinking that we will just do our own thing next year and see how it goes and if we are finding that we need more structure then we'll go with ACE the following year.
So now that we wont be using ACE as "the base" we are wondering , what does everyone else do.
Are there any particular places that you get your resources from?
We do want to use some workbooks as well as other things as DD enjoys workbooks as well as computer work, art and craft and is a real nature and animal girl.
Also wanting to find some other homeschooling families so that our children will have interaction with others who are home edding.
We live near Bunbury and it seems that there are a lot more meetups etc in Perth which is a little far for us to go all the time. Especially with me expecting bub #3 next April.
I know that at DDs age(5), math and english are the main things that we need to cover but what else do those of you who are currently home schooling teach?
Sorry this is such a long post.Just wanting to get things sorted for next year so that we'll be ready to go.
If you got through this whole post, thanks for hanging in there.
Cheers
Deb x

I don't have a huge amount to offer as I know that ACE is a great base plan. However, you could easily do some work on families and what makes our family special. You could collect photos and look at what each person is like and how they add to the fabric of the family. Our local area is another one...go look at where the fire station is and the ambulance station as well as natural landmarks. Photograph and make a book for friends or family who come to visit. You could put together a collection of nursery rhymes as well. Plus there is gardening, household chores and other life skills that come naturally into a homeschooling program. Happy to help:wave:
