i need to cook some food for a friend who is having her baby soon, she's having a homebirth so want to cook some things for her that she can freeze today and they'll be ok to take out and just reheat in the oven or on the stove top...has anybody got any ideas?

Spaghetti sauce, currys, stews, savoury mince, homemade sausage rolls, soups..

Some cookie dough batches so she just needs to pop in the oven when she wants some freshly baked cookies, maybe do a few batches of the lactation cookies to freeze if she is planning to BF..

Hot pots...slow cooker recipes..they always freeze well.. I usually just add stock, meat, and veg to the pot...pasta near the end, and herbs, spices, sometimes red wine...or gravy...just make it up as I go along...Always tastes great...

Also things Like a
sausage casserole
Goulash
Potato and sweet potato Soup/pumpkin soup
Curry
Beef Strog
Apricot Chicken

I would do a beautiful big soup with lots of organic vegies and some yummy herbs. I find homemade soup so healing and nourishing, it's a real comfort food for me served with crusty bread mmmmmmmm:chef:

You sure can! I love soup but I can never do it like my Mum so every winter I get her to make me 2 huuuuge batches and I have them stored in the freezer. I think its 3 months but they rarely last a month in mine:D

Soup is an awsome idea. Also i made up a few lasagnes while i was pregnant and froze them. They are easy to make and cook quite well. Ummmmm goulash and casseroles are another good idea. The spagetti, and home made pies

Soups and caseroles both freeze really well.
Vegie soups, where you just chuck in left over vegies from your fridge (+ parsley, it seriously makes ALL the difference in a vegie soup IMO :p) are great and they last a while!

And congrats to your friends [possible] twins :yelclap: I don't think i know her, but if you want any help cooking for her anyway, let me know!

I cooked for a friend that gave birth recenntly, I did Spaghetti/ pasta sauce and a lamb casserole. They both freeze well, and was much appreciate especially the night she brought bubs home from hospital as her DH doesn't have time off work and she has a 20mth old toddler too!
