View Full Version : Is it too late to get a doula?
I am thinking of getting a doula but I'm already 30 weeks and wonder if this is too late.
If it isn't does anyone have any recommendations for Perth doulas?
Thanks :)

Its never too late to get a Doula. :)
Oh really? That's good, thanks NCB. Know any?
Absolutely, never too late...
Maybe call these women to see if you like any of them.
I don't know any personally, unfortunately, so can't recommend anyone in particular.

I have been a practicing doula since 2004. I have been so blessed to be present and supporting many women through their birth experiences, in all types of settings, since my training. I have a particular interest in helping VBAC mums as one of my 3 children was born by caesarean and I understand the emotional support a women needs through such a special experience.

New to Australian Doulas, I have completed my training and attended my first 2 births. I have homebirth experience and one of my children was a water birth. I enjoy working alongside the community midwives. You can view my profile online at our website. I would love to talk to you about supporting you as your doula.

I too say it's not too late to seek out a doula. I've not personally had one or recommend one, but there is a website that you can check out which lists doulas that service Perth.

Where in Perth are you?
I am training as a doula through DONA International. You have perfect timing in getting a doula, normally you may only start seeing your doula now anyway.
I am SOR in Perth and if you are interested in learning some more about me, send me a pm.
Hopefully I will hear from you soon!
Louise
Thanks everyone :) some really good info I have started ringing around a bit.

Where SOR are you.. and how much do you charge? :detective:
Never too late!
I supported a woman once from when she was 36weeks- even though we only knew each other a short time we had a great connection.:D
Eta- Gaby Targett has a book called a "labor of love"- it's a great book if you can get your hands on it! She would be a great Doula I would imagine!

Definitely not too late ;)
I've had ladies come to me a week or two before they're due. Go for it :)

heya!
I have no recommendations, just wanted to say that I booked my doula at about 20 weeks, and I think it is the best thing I've done this pregnancy. She is so lovely and supportive and just wants to give us the birth we want!
Good luck in your search! :flowerz:
