Hi,
After hours of research I have come up with one nappy that I like.

Green Kids. Anytimes.

I like that it is all in one, with the inserts (no extra water proof covering needed, australian made, good cost). I was wandering if anyone has honestly used them and what they think?

Little worried about velcro curling and loosing grip.

Your help would be much appreciated!

Any suggestions also reccomended!

I LOVE Greenkids..

I have 25+ and they are going strong after almost a year.
I also have 2 that are 2yrs old and still look and work fine..

They are a fantastic nappy.

Greenkids are right up there as one of my favourite nappies. I've got 15 of them and DH will always go for those or Bum Genius when he's got DS.

Hate them. I bought two....they were massively bulky (I don't like that). I only used them for bed time so that didn't matter too much. After a few months they looked like they were years old and looked cheap and dodgy, even though they were most expensive nappy I'd bought. Yes I had put them in the dryer a few times, but the other nappies I used were in the dryer a lot more and I'm still using them on my second child, and she's 14 months. The stitching around the velcro started coming undone, DD1 learnt how to undo the velcro and in bed she'd get fully undressed and take her nappy off.
Definitely not for us. I like small nappies that are good quality and non velcro.

ETA - a couple of months in to having my GK I sent off an email asking a question and never heard back. Others say their customer service is fantastic but I didn't find this to be the case personally.

May I ask what you use?

I love them. I find their customer service excellent - they usually post your order on the day you place it, so I've had a less than 24 hour turn around between ordering and them appearing on my doorstep.

They are pretty much all we've used on DS since he was tiny, so I've been using them almost full time for 19 months and the velcro is still in great condition. The PUL doesn't fade or look dirty at all, they all look bright and brand new still.

Yes, kids can undo velcro, but they tend to get over that, just make sure they always have pants on when they're going through that phase!

I can't praise them highly enough. My DH refuses to use any other sort of nappy on our son.

THey didn't work for us at night, my son was captain wee. Now he's not feeding during the night, we may be able to try again, but for day time use, they are brilliant.

Love them - I have 14 of of them (12 anytimes, 2 minkytimes). Have been using them in high rotation for 10 months and they still look new.

They are a great nappy, very absorbent, we've never had a leak. Only issue we are having now is DS can undo them as the velcro is good quality but it's not the strongest. That's fixed by making sure he has pants on over them.

The best velcro around is on the baby beehind magicalls IMO. That velcro holds no matter what my DS tries.

However I understand you can make a special request to GK for them to use snaps instead of velcro if that worries you.

Regarding the issue of "trimness" - some will say they aren't very trim. It's true that they are wide across the crotch. However in terms of bulk, I find them less thick than itti bittis, they sit flat and wide. We have no issue fitting them under clothes.

Thank you Bron,
For night did you try the extra inserts. And also in one of the posts it is communicated that they look old after a couple of months. Is this not the case with you?

Tinkerbelle I use Fuzzibunz, which are american....but I've recently found a new love for itti bitti's. They are Australian (actually the woman who makes them is a local) because I found the FB's weren't so great for past about 18 months.

i have found the same as Double Ace. i found them really wide in the crotch. and the velcro pulls off on its own. i really hate them too LOL. i am glad i had just sold mine.

but usually i am not a fan of pockets, i prefer all in ones anyways.

i really like magic-alls over. but my favourites are wild childs.

I did try the extra inserts at night, but my son would have 5 breastfeeds a night sometimes, it didn't work.

I don't find mine look old at all. In some swaps I've received a Haute and a Bumgenius pocket, both of which look clearly old. GKs still look bright and new.

I've merged your two identical threads, by the way.:)

I've been using mine for approx 14 months. As with other posters, mine are used in a reasonable sized rotation and all still look new, no problems with the velcro or anything either.

i also dont like them for these reasons, i have a very tall thin little man and nappies that are too wide just dont look comfy at all! I just cant bring myself to even try them again. I do not like them at all!!

i recently bought some second hand that were 4 months old (so fairly new) the anytime looks brand new, the fun times were both starting to look a bit faded and the material feels pretty stiff. the first funtime i tried on had some wicking, the other 2 were fine and stopped a poosplosion in its tracks ...and my DD is not a big wetter. the inserts i find are fiddly to get in, but then all pockets i have trouble with...and the inserts which are sewn together take a while to dry...

i am glad i got them, but they end up being 34 and 35 brand new to buy! i would try out a trial pack first or get some second hand...i like them...but they aren't my fave (my BG AIO and Med Smooth Magicalls are my fave so far)

Where are Itti Bitti made? I heard they are made in Asia

Straight from the website - would post the link but it is against the rules. very easy to find though. The name of the nappy with a .com.au at the end.

Manufacturing Information
Prior to January 2008, all itti bitti products were manufactured in Australia. However for the past 18 months we have been unable to keep up with the demand for our exceptionally popular products, resulting in the frustration of many products being frequently out of stock, often for months at a time.

The long search for a suitable manufacturer to enable us to keep up with the demand, led us to look at international options. Ethics in the workplace and high quality workmanship were our most important requirements and we spent many months looking at a number of manufacturing companies. In the end, two were chosen to produce the bitti d’lish range of products and both of these companies have been personally visited by the itti bitti directors, to ensure they meet with our standards for exceptional quality and the ethical and fair treatment of their employees. We pay extra to have our products manufactured under these conditions, because we believe it’s worth it – not just to ensure our customers have top quality nappies, but so the employees have top quality working conditions and fair wages.

It is more cost effective to have our products manufactured internationally, which is why the price of our AIO nappies has dropped by over 10% and we've been able to introduce great value nappy packages. Our savings are your savings – we want to help your cloth dollar go further. And there is absolutely no compromise on quality, we are so impressed, that we’ve introduced a six month workmanship guarantee so you can shop with total confidence.

At this stage, all other itti bitti products will continue to be manufactured in Australia.

Maybe you should try some trial packs before you commit to a big purchase, have a look at some fitteds as well as AIO's and pockets to see which suits you best.

Love them !

We have 20 Anytimes & 5 Funtimes .... 3yrs on & they are going strong. The Funtimes arent coping as well from being in the dryer & used so much but that I expected due to this. The Bulk of my Anytimes were used on a small rotation from when I first started cloth & have only just started 'dying' but even still they stop DS2's explosions they just dont last the full 4hrs anymore due to the PUL wearing.

I actually prefer the bulkiness ... Cant stand 'little' nappies but thats also because I have very very tall little boys that if I use the likes of Swaddlebees or Ittis they are way too low. Ittis for us have been a total waste of time because DS2 out wees them within an hour whereas a GK's can last 4hrs just with a microfibre insert & small hemp insert.

I love that you can play with inserts to choose what works best for your child & also allows you to not have them so bulky so to speak. Also the 'trim' nappies are a bugger to stuff & usually the men of the house cant get their hands into them whereas the GK's they can !

They have FANTASTIC customer service & infact I still contact the lovely lady who is behind them every so often even when I havent bought any nappies of late & she is always helpful with any advice I need on various things cloth !

For nites I have been lucky enough to get the Dreamytimes before they were 'stopped' & whilst the boys look like cowboys as bedtime ( I love it :bee: ) they work a treat when boosted right. You just cant get your hands on them easily.

I have to say along with GK's the best nappies I have found so far for my super heavy duty super fast wee'ers have been Berry Plush ( LOVE THESE ! ), Cherubs Kiss Auriels :cloud9: & Patootie Booties which are all so freaking fantastic I smile everytime I see them :o

We have the likes of GK's, Baby Beehinds Bamboo fitteds & Magicalls as our work horses & the others as our show offs.

As someone suggested already you really cant say whats going to be best for you until you try them out. So grabbing a couple of different types & styles is usually the way to go. Both my boys have been great in GK's which has been lucky for us but other nappies have been completely different for either so its been a case of trial & error !

Good luck & welcome to the world of cloth :goodvibes:

I just wanted to say Thankyou for everyone that replied!
I am still so confused , but I guess it is a matter of seeing how it goes. It is a little understandable why people instantly opt for disposable, as it is seems so much easier. However it seems once you have a system it is much worth while! In regards to AIO, as they are constricted to sizes it left me uninterested.

I am looking for something Australian Made, Size Adjusts, Semi fast drying and I enjoy the option of inserts. GK seem to be the only one to offer such a kind. If there are any other suggestions that you feel offer this please let me know.Especially if there is something similar to GK Anytimes, that are less bulky, good quality velcro/snaps, and possibility of AIO with a one size fits all option, that dries quite fast...let me know!

To be a pain, one last question?

SNAPS or VELCRO?

Someone mentioned that GK will put snaps if required!

Also, thanks everyone, this is my first post and I am amazed how much response I have recieved. Being a first time mum (33 weeks now), and some what has a control freak (like making most decisions), I have really put a work load on for me!

Thank you again!

If contacted Sasha from GK's will help as much as she possibly can in regards to helping make the nappies more suitable .... Whether that be with snaps or even making a larger version for kids like Boof who outgrew the OSFM by 2.5yrs cause he was the size of a 4yr old !!!!

By the way snaps arent the end all & be all that many claim them to be ... Dont get me wrong I like them but kids easily undo these just as quick once they work it out ! Both of mine has taken a matter of days when introduced to snaps to pull a nappy off ! So going to snaps doesnt always solve the nappy coming off problem !

I have been wanting to look at these, but didn't want to waste my money buying over the internet just to find I didn't like them. So after pestering for ages, my local shop is going to stock them, yaaay.

Can't wait to see them, not that I need more cloth, but I love that they are made in Australia.

I agree, I would rather have a wider crotch in the long run. At least then I know it is going to work and fit better. I know it seems big on a little newborn, but that stage doesn't last long and you can just use smaller inserts and let it fold between the legs a bit until bubs grows.
