Hi Ladies

I am having a guest over for dinner (A Collegue of my husbands ) and I am wanting to have Fresh seafood on the menu.

I am thinking out allowed and considering Prawns,Oysters,Calamari, Lobster(?) (What else could I have ? )

I would appreciate any ideas relating to seafood and what I could serve with it and some presentation ideas.

I not only want my food to taste good but also look good too.

Any ideas/suggestions would be thoroughly appreciated.

Thankyou Ladies :)

Prawns and Lobster go really well with a pesto mayo and the green contrasts well, aesthetically speaking, with the orange crustacean shells. I do a simple entree dish which involves slices of camembert, mango and avocado layered out in a fan shape with cooked and shelled King Prawns and a dollop of pesto in the centre. It can be made a few hours ahead and stored in the fridge (covered with wrap and a bit of lemon juice sprinkled on the avocado to stop it browning).

White plates - cant get any better for presentation. Makes the food stand out then you can just garnish with a handful of simple herbs like dill.

1/2 lobsters look nice with a flavoured butter or thermidore style but keep any sauces to a minimum so as not to make the dish too "heavy" Side dishes would be the same - not too much on the plate. Maybe just some steamed asparagus or rice packed into timbales moulds and turned out. Julienned carrots & zucchini??......

I'm not a huge oyster fan, but I do love Oysters Kilpatrick and Oysters Mornay.
If I remember correctly (havent had either of these dishes for ages!), they are served straight out of the oven/grill on a plate/silver platter, sitting on top of rock salt (lots of it!)
Not sure of the actual recipes for these but.
